Isla Rhodes escaped a draining and unfulfilling life to chase after the passion she craves: opening her own bakery. Amato Moreno’s family runs the largest crime syndicate in the state. After suspicious deaths and twisted stories, Amato finds himself tangled in a web of lies and deceit within the family. Amato’s goal is to eradicate the traitors and take over the business. Having grown up in a callous world of crime and navigating the recent death of his step-father, Amato finds himself more and more settling into an emotionless state of sociopathy. Until a familiar smell reminds him of his lost humanity and leads him to Isla’s bakery.

Isla knows better than to get involved with a criminal. Amato knows better than to drag someone into his dangerous life. Their spark is stronger than common sense. Curiosity turns to obsession. Obsession to need. Amato does all he can to keep Isla away from the perils of his life, but while she is his sanctification, will he be her damnation?
