What do you do with a zombie apocalypse on your wedding day? Battle your way through the hordes of undead to the church, of course. Lucy has spent the last 12 months planning every moment of her big day and at no point in that time did those plans involve her bridesmaids tearing the limo driver limb from limb before lunch. Or fighting off the undead to marry the man of her dreams. Will Lucy even find a living groom at the altar if she ever makes it there herself?
Bridezilla vs Zombies is a comedic whack-a-zombie adventure following Lucy as she battles her way from the blood-spattered limo to her wedding ceremony, on the off chance that her groom, Joe, isn't among the recently living.
I liked the premise of this book, but the pacing and writing was unfortunately not for me. There were a few nice character interactions, but barely any character depth. I wanted more intensity with the zombies, and found that the ending fell flat.
DNF’d this book. Made it 63% and couldn’t do it anymore. I hated the main character (Lucy). She’s just awful. She’s such a doormat and I honestly don’t like her as a person. The pacing was terrible, and I hated nearly all the wedding planning chapters as it just felt like filler. I wanted more of the zombie stuff and even that fell flat eventually. I just didn’t care for the characters at all.
It was a good premise but I just couldn’t get into it. I hated Lucy (the main character), hated all the wedding planning chapters and hated the pacing. The wedding planning chapters threw off the pacing to the point I was extremely frustrated with the book before I’d even read half of it. I tried to read further but it just didn’t get any better. I’m sorry but this book is just not for me.
Omg I literally read this book in two days it was so much fun! I had an absolute ball hating the mother and seeing our main character fight off zombies. It left me feeling so happy and I really would recommend this to anyone who wants a book where you can just switch off and have a good time. It was the perfect length too.
This was a fun story, with so much happening. It wasn't all froth and bubble, though. It dealt with things like an overbearing mother who wanted to live her life through her daughter, along with pregnancy and loss. It also affirmed the power of friendship, and helped to put expectations about weddings into perspective for Lucy and her family. Highly recommended.
