What do you do when the world ends and aliens kidnap your two best friends?
I take matters into my own hands, set a trap and take one of the scary, horned males as my prisoner.
He may be three times my size, built like a truck and half naked, but I’m the one holding the cattle prod in this relationship and I’m not afraid to make my captive suffer if it means saving my friends.
But Dargo doesn’t seem intimidated by my threats, if anything, the whole situation is turning him on. He keeps propositioning me like we’re on a date and I don’t have him tied up.
My plan is not working out like I hoped…and I’m not sure if that’s a bad thing.
This was a lovely short and sweet story with a fast-paced storyline that really helped stoke my love for reading again. I thoroughly enjoyed Taz and Dagor's tumultuous relationship, I liked that they weren't quite so cut and dry in falling for each other, that added depth and frustration was the perfect addition.
Taz, the female human lead, raised in foster care, doesn’t believe love is real, at least for her. When her best friends are taken by aliens, she’s determined to rescue them. Capturing Dargo, the male alien lead, she’s shocked by his nonchalance and apparent willingness to help her in every way she asks. Dargo is surprised to find the level of feistiness and determination in a human female that he expected from his people’s females. He’s sure she’s his mate; now he just needs to convince her and he’ll use all the tools at his disposal…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a fun, funny, steamy sci fi romance. I genuinely laughed my way through this story. I loved the banter and especially Dargo’s conviction that Taz was exactly what he wanted in a partner. I understood and appreciated Taz’s reluctance to believe happiness could be real for her. I enjoyed Dargo’s relaxed sunshine approach in contrast to Taz, and his willingness to wait for more than attraction. I enjoyed their personal and relationship development. I enjoyed the impact of and engagement with secondary characters. Such a FUN read!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
I have now read all the books in this series available and pre-ordered the next. I really enjoyed the Turochs so far! They are such good examples of steadfast love. These stories are a little different from the usual alien heroes in that they are slaves of another alien race and crash land on Earth. Because of the crash, the Turochs are able to escape their slave owners and free themselves in mass. They meet their mates told separately in each book, with a HEA, but also a cliffhanger due to the fact that the author still hasn't gotten to whether they are able to defeat their former owners for control of Earth. Great world building!
I devoured this book like a fresh brownie! Great adventure! A prickly but lovable Taz finds herself in a pickle when aliens crash on earth and they seem intent on finding mates. Her friends have been taken. After knocking out an especially hot looking alien Taz thinks she has the upper hand. She will make him take her to her friends so she can rescue them. Drago sees the fire in her eyes and knows he has at last found his forever mate. He just has to convince her of their destiny. A truly fast paced and often funny as hell story of survival and fated love.
After a space ship crashes into the pharmacy that two human women were hiding in the roof starts to collapse. The styos invaders are killed by the turoch slaves that were aboard. One of the women is claimed by one of the turochs. The other woman takes off trying to hide from one of the other turochs. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to the women and the turochs. Plenty of fighting to live and fighting to blow off steam.
Taz and Dargo I liked book One and book two is very much as fun. We meet Taz on book One and She is not Nice, at all and that is still valid here but now we understand the reasons for her to BE so mean. Dargo doesn't know any off it but he likes her just like She is, thorns and all. He likes the chase and She likes to fight him so, they are perfect for each other. Can't wait to read the Next One!
This was a very entertaining book. I loved Taz, she didn’t have a gentle bone in her body on the surface. She had a lot of baggage and more emotional walls than even she knew. And Drago was so patient with her, it was hilarious he compared her to a cactus. I can’t sit to read the next book.
So I had to read this immediately after the first. Happyly I liked it as much as the first one. This was angry, wary heroine done well. Even her stupid moments were understandable somehow. I'll be checking the next book. I'm so hooked.
I saw a preview on TikTok of a woman trapping a male and holding him hostage for information and I love a strong female and some role reversal. This kind of petered out afterwards though. Not much talking, just vibes and assumptions, meh.
