Strongest of the kings and still I couldn’t keep my brothers safe. Of the twelve only five of us survive. Yet, my brother has left me to guard this woman.
Everything about her draws me. I’m supposed to keep her safe but I am the greatest danger to her.
Valdís
He looks at me like he is starved, and I want to give him everything, even if that means my death. Knox told me this Malic would keep me safe while he sleeps. I’m not sure where the most danger lies, with the ones that seek my death or here with Malic.
Rhiannon writes magical smut novels. She is an avid reader of many authors in a variety of genre though she tends more toward paranormal romance.
She has three former pound puppies that she dotes on and three daughters that she adores.
Rhiannon has lived in multiple states, though she is currently living in North Carolina. Wandering, witching, and reading with her puppies and husband are what she does when she isn't writing.
I'm really not a fan of the whole female lead turns out to be something special trope but unfortunately here we are. I had hoped that her being destined to be the mate of the kings would be enough but nope. Lets sprinkle in a little reveal from the goddess that Valdis is more than just the kings' promised mate and is the most powerful witch. 🙄
This one was a bit better about the dialog prompts. It was less noticeable and less distracting. There was still plenty of points that it was unnecessary but there eas improvement.

3.25⭐️ More plot than the first one, and I feel like the writing has improved, possibly because the main plot elements have already been introduced in the first book. There are less stereotypes/cliches continuing over into this second book, and I like how the romance has developed. Overall, most areas have improved. Not to say this is a great book, I'm still mainly reading for the vibes but not terrible.
This was a quick read of 150 pages and a perfect distraction from my high anxiety. as I could not sleep I read the in one go. this is the second book in the series and is a dark spicy fated mates vampire romance I already really liked both Valdis and Knox from the first book and the introduction of Malic in this one was fun. I will definitely pick up the next book at some point.
Okay. This one was actually better than the first :) less of a chore to get through because it feels like there’s more of a story now. Still not fantastic, some of the smut is just baffling. But a pretty easy read tbh so not terrible. Just need to keep myself distracted until the end of this term so I can finish falling down my TOG rabbit hole.
Wild that more people don't love this book. I read it in one sitting, and I won't lie, I'm truly in love. I read the first one (also rated 5 stars), and I haven't put them down since. I love how the author writes and I am now a die heart fan. I can't wait to finish the rest of the series. <3
I like that it keeps the same pace as the first book and that we get more snaps of why Valdís is as important as they mention in the book. The relationship between her and Malic is good, but I prefer they way Knox meet her.
