This is a 3 star book.
The writing is overly simple and the lessons are the normal banal sentimental messages. Nothing new in terms of advocating outdoor/wild experiences and the effect on mental health.
So why did I give it 4 stars?
I love this type of being wild - camping, making fires, generally roughing it. There were lots of really good tips offered by Goldsmith.
He’s a first time author, ex-marine with PTSD, who is doing a lot of good for others (especially ex-military). This is a brand new book and I wanted to give an extra star to boost it a bit more.
Summation: A great starter book to becoming more wild.
