Tina Is A Daily Survivor Of Hydrocephalus (Old Term: Water Head Babies) & Lives With A Special Shunt In Her Head To Drain Her Spinal Fluid.
Tina Edwards was born and lived most of her life in the small Orange County, New York village of Harriman, approximately 40 miles North West of New York City. She is the youngest of four children, two brothers and a sister.
At 9 weeks of age she contracted staph meningitis that turned into hydrocephalus, doctors operated on Tina to place a ventricular shunt in her head to drain the spinal fluid. Over the years she has had to go through revisions of the shunt system, with the most recent revision in 2005.
Tina was married to her husband Scott in May 1994 and their eldest son was soon born in December of 1995. While in the process of moving to northeastern Pennsylvania their second son was born in July of 2002.
In 2003 Tina started writing poetry and it has been a passion of hers to share her poetry amongst her friends and family, now with the urging of these people she is sharing them with the world.
