OW Stuff
Outside the relationship sex and cheating don't belong in any kind of romance books, no matter the type or subgenre or if they're dark. It does not belong in a ROMANCE. I will give every romance I read containing that stuff the lowest possible rating.

Nicola brings out every emotion I have in me out. I absolutely love her as an Author.
Arthur is the head of the Mob and does business with the Perished Rider's. Meli (Amelia) is the sister to the President of the Club.
If you've read the other stories your heart goes out for Meli and what she's been through. Her emotions are in a constant up upheaval. Her nightmares haunt her as well as past mistakes. She just needs a chance and Arthur is there to give her one.
Unfortunately things happen, but hey Rosie's there to help. Goodness I love her character. You might want to strangle a couple of characters but there is a great ending.

dot get the high rating
In books I find it a big struggle to know that for one the hero was struggling between the heroine and the best friend and openly admitted he wanted to fuck the best friend. Also him having sex with another women without a condom and the heroine walking in on it and demanding he get the women he has Sex with the morning after pill!! And then continues to forcefully have sex with that same women in several occasions later on in the story. I’m sorry but I’ve liked past stories but this is too much I skipped most of it bc I couldn’t stomach it. I’ll give it 1 star cause even though all of that I feel like there could’ve been potential it just 🤢

The H in this book is Arthur. He is torn between the two best friends Rosie and Meli. Now if you read previous books you know Meli isn’t well received. This book removes the triangle quick but angst is added. The only issue I had was that I needed a cast of characters I enjoyed this with help from my book friend Tessa. The only complaint I had was who were they t@liking about. I couldn’t remember from Nicola Janes MC series. There where my book friend Tessa came in to save the day. I did enjoythis book so 3 stars.

The previous books in the series haven’t been kind to Meli and to be honest I really didn’t want to like her at all.
Honestly I still don’t think I do that much, the girl trips from mistake to mistake and just can’t seem to help herself, but having now gotten a lot more of her background I have a lot more empathy for her than I had before.
Intriguing and deep, this is a really good story and a great introduction to the spin off group Arthur is the head of.
Deserving of each other, this book is a rollercoaster of who is with who as well as the usual family shenanigans.
Enjoyable but not entirely redeeming.

What a Great Cross Over Book!!
When MC meets the Mafia, you know it has great potential and this book proved that right. Meli is the sister to the Perished Riders MC Prez and has a hard life but has been covering up her true feelings. Arthur is a businessman out in the open but behind the scenes he is a mafia man who works with the Perished Riders MC. He is also one of the only ones who sees through Meli and knows how she’s struggling.
I have loved the Perished Riders MC series and this book with Arthur and Meli made the Mafia theme perfect. I can’t wait to see what this author has up her sleeves next!

For what Meli had been through she deserved her HEA, she's Maverick, the presidents sister. Arthur is a mafia boss, working vlose with the MC put him into Melis life but things aren't smooth sailing for the pair. The story captivates you and holds your attention a great addition for the series but also as a spin off. Well written steamy drama and more.

This is just as amazing as the rest of Nicolas books.
I loved getting to know more about Meli and her story.
The twist in this one was a surprise! The smex is good and well written. It was funny to get to k wo Arthur a bit more. The mafia boss that has been around the MC. What can I say other than go get it!.

It was a bit surprising that the main pairing wasn't Arthur and Rosey, since there was some setup and interesting chemistry in the Perished Rider MC books. But the main couple is Meli and Arthur. According to Nicola Jane's author's note, she originally planned to haveRosey and Arthur together as well.
I have to say, I was not looking forward to Meli's story at all after getting to know her from the other books, even though we know she had suffered in her childhood. This book does focus a lot on how her past is affecting her present, such as how her relationship with her twin is not as healed as it may have appeared, her judgment and immaturity has not improved, and she still has guilt and feelings of unworthiness from her own actions as well as from her previous abuse. When everything blows up and she makes some cruel comments to her family (comparing Mav to her abusive father? Yikes.), she was even less likeable, and in the end, cut off financially from the club.
Arthur is organized, authoritative and has a specific way of conducting business compared to Rosey's, but he values his work partnership with Mav and the MC. So when he begins having feelings for Meli, he has to tread carefully. Overall, it was great seeing his perspective, and drive to help Meli. It was even better seeing his interactions with his brothers, who I hope we see in future books.
Meli and Arthur's relationship heats up when she gets a job with Arthur (why did it take so long for me to figure out she was not working and just hung around the club?). During this time we really see the state of Meli's mental health and how she views herself. Arthur was commited to trying his hardest to fix her, because to him, she is perfect. However, someone from Arthur's work - Jolene- gets in the way, and he keeps making bad decisions when she is involved, adding to Meli's pain and insecurities. After some great partnership between Mav's club and Arthur's, they take down Jolene and the two have their HEA.
Overall, good read. In addition to her great writing style, Nicola Jane really gets the dynamics of family and relationships, and those messy moments and little hurts keep bubbling back up to the surface, reminding the reader that each new book in the series is not a clean slate. It used to frustrate me as a reader to see these moments unresolved throughout the series, but when tensions finally burst at the right moments, it adds to the story and the dynamics between the characters. The intertwined relationships of the MC are what keep me waiting for her next book!

I was rolling my eyes so hard I gave myself a headache. There is also cheating in this book.
He sleeps with another woman multiple times without a condom to protect his girlfriend and he's supposed to love his woman. Didn't like it at all, he is suppose to be a big scary boss. Each to their own but I was cringing throughout the book.

I was sooooo looking forward to this book and then it’s ruined with the OW drama! He didn’t HAVE to sleep with her! God that made me sick. Anything would have been better than that. Ignore her/ can’t get hard/ be out at work all night!!!!

Arthur: The Perished Riders Mafia Spin-off (The Perished Riders MC) by Nicola Jane was well worth the wait, you will be blown away between the drama and intense heat and passion between Arthur and Meli. Finally, Meli gets her own story! This mafia story is full of suspense, danger, violence, betrayal, MC drama and plenty of steam moments between Arthur and Meli.
Meli, is still reeling from her past with Ripper, her relationship between her brother and sister is strained, she is still haunted by her past and she loathes herself. Rosie is a hit woman for the Perished Riders MC and is Meli's best friend who always has her back. Arthur is a well established businessman and gangster with a close tie with Maverick of the Perished Riders MC to keep his streets safe. Arthur now finds the more he is around beautiful, sexy Meli he is drawn to and wants her, but she fights him all the way. Arthur can tell Meli is broken and sad will he be able to break through the wall she has put into place and save his Angel? Now that her brother has told Meli he will no longer support her, that she is selfish and destructive, she finds she will have to find her own way. Arthur decides to offer her a job working with him. Arthur along with his brothers keeps his community safe, but someone close to him is working behind the scenes to take everything he has away through threats and violence as she wants Arthur for herself. The more he comes on to her, Meli is afraid to take a chance is she worthy of being loved? Should she take a chance? Once she tells him that she is no good for him he ignores her warnings and is more determined to have her. When these two begin a hot, fast intense steamy relationship, Meli gives into her fears and succumbs to temptation and gives her heart to Arthur. Meli and Arthur have been fighting an attraction to each other but once they work together, they cannot hold back. Yet forces continue to pull them apart in the face of an unexpected enemy. I thought the buildup between Meli and Arthur was a bit quick even if they do not get together until about halfway through the story. I think we needed a bit more about why they were attracted to each other, particularly when there’s a potential triangle set up at the beginning. I liked how they began connecting emotionally though once Meli opens up about her past. I also wonder if Arthur faces anything after being forced into a situation not just once. Overall though, this coupling was interesting to read about and I am glad they got their HEA.
Along with that we have a suspenseful plot about who the enemy is and once the enemy is known, we can see how frustrated the characters are at being backed into corners with no solution in sight. The writing here was well done. I did think the resolution was a bit quick, but glad things worked out.
I actually hadn’t read the Perished Riders books before this one, so there’s a lot of names to track, but I don’t think you need to read that series before jumping into this one and understanding what is happening. It might help to get some background on how certain characters are connected but the story here gives just enough detail to know who’s who.

Along with that we have a suspenseful plot about who the enemy is and once the enemy is known, we can see how frustrated the characters are at being backed into corners with no solution in sight. The writing here was well done. I did think the resolution was a bit quick, but glad things worked out.
I actually hadn’t read the Perished Riders books before this one, so there’s a lot of names to track, but I don’t think you need to read that series before jumping into this one and understanding what is happening. It might help to get some background on how certain characters are connected but the story here gives just enough detail to know who’s who.

Arthur and Meli's story was intense from the start. If you read The Perish Riders series, you will have a better understanding of who Meli is. If you haven't, I highly recommend you do
In the story, Arthur is a man with an eternal conflict. Does he want the devil or the angel? In this case, Rosey the not so silent assassin or her best friend, Meli, the girl with an internal conflict of her own.
Meli wins out, but not without Arthur screwing up by kissing Rosey, and later sleeping with the sister of a business colleague. It takes screwing up for him to realize what was there all along.
However, the relationship doesn't come that easy. Meli has monsters she has to open up about before she can move forward.
Just when it seemed things would be going their way, an unexpected adversary shows up spoiling their plans. Towards the last quarters of the book you see the couple, alongside their family and friends, work on a common goal to help get out of a bad situation.
I will say that I liked seeing The Perish Riders involvement in this book. It brings this crossover full circle. I look forward to seeing what is in store for Albert!.

Another fantastic book from Nicola Jane
This book is all about Meli, who, if you’ve read the previous books, was introduced as Hadleys twin sister. Poor Meli has long suffered and after experiencing trauma and abuse as a child/teen, her sense of self is badly skewed. She sees herself as “damaged”, “ruined” and “dirty” and the people closest to her either don’t see it or inadvertently reinforce that belief. Enter Arthur, a mafia boss who leads with absolute authority, he sees Meli, he sees her as perfect despite not only her own self belief but also what others (particularly her brother Mav) say about her. He falls for her hard and fast and starts to work at changing her views of herself and also to try to get her to open up about her past trauma in order to move past it and start healing. However this book wouldn’t be a Nicola Jane book without bringing along some good old OWD (other woman drama). Will Meli ever get her HEA? Will Arthur ever free himself from the things that bind him? Will Rosey ever take a day off from her job as an assassin? You’ll have to read to find out, but, with plenty of angst, longing, lust and a good bit of banter it’s definitely worth the read!

Wow! What a book!
Okay so we start off with Rosey and my love hate with her is still on the fence but my first thought was she reminds me of Harley Quinn, you’ll get this in the book, as I’m reading this I’m going from hating and loving both Rosey and Meli, Nicola had written it in a clever way to keep you on your toes. Love how the relationship between Meli and Hadley is getting better (read Grim) for background. Hads seems to have already forgiven her. There’s a part where I was literally saying no no no my poor heart couldn’t take it, but love the suspense of it. Great show of family coming together even though there’s some tension between them (Meli & Mav).
Then the snake! Jolene arrgghh hate that woman! And I can’t help but sing the song every time I heard her name lol. My heart hurt for Meli! Why would she put herself through this!
Then we have Rosey and in work mode! Omg she’s good, I can’t wait for her book, I’m hoping that it’s with Albert but knowing Nicola it’s probably the guy down the road haha, cracking end and an all round brilliant book. Well done Nic another to my favourite pile! 🖤💙
Okay so we start off with Rosey and my love hate with her is still on the fence but my first thought was she reminds me of Harley Quinn, you’ll get this in the book, as I’m reading this I’m going from hating and loving both Rosey and Meli, Nicola had written it in a clever way to keep you on your toes. Love how the relationship between Meli and Hadley is getting better (read Grim) for background. Hads seems to have already forgiven her. I came here for Arthur and Meli but ended up with an amazing and wonderful surprise of Rosey
The book was amazing but tbh I got distracted with being more interested with Rosey.... I literally skipped the parts of main characters to go read about Rosey .... though it's not because Arthur or Meli were boring or just not that interesting. Strong no prisoners women who are bloodthirsty and on the crazy side are one of my topmost kryptonite and Rosey ticked all those boxes.
Arthur and Meli were beautiful in their own right, though I did feel like shaking Meli quite a few times especially when she pushed Rosey towards Arthur or when she forgave and allowed that much leeway to Mav who was rude and downright insulting to Meli which the sweet girl didn't deserve.
Arthur was amazing and badass . He was made for Meli with him being gentle yet hard and yup he wouldn't have made quite a good match with Rosey simply because I want Rosey to have someone who is either unhinged like her or is an alpha who keeps on underestimating the girl or to be proved wrong time and again.
Certainly a good read. Eagerly waiting for Rosey's story now.

Love the series and love this coupling, my only complaint is Mav. He’s not a main character in this book and once I took a moment to seeth over what I read, I was able to enjoy the rest. I’m just so confused at how Mav can go from how he is in the first book, to the callus creature spitting vile words at his sister in this one. It absolutely threw me and I had to put the book down for a minute. The guy rescued then married an abused woman, dedicated his club to saving abused women, set up a centre for women who need help, pushes people to seek therapy then uses the abuse of his baby sister as a weapon against her? Really? That’s where the author wanted to go? Give one of the best characters in the series an enormous, personality changing flaw? Yes he could be gruff and bossy but to use his sister’s abuse and heartbreak to humiliate her in front of their family, club and associates was just gross.
Not sure if anyone can tell but I’m raging about it.
Rest of the book was enjoyable, great characters to develop connections with, good villains to hate etc.
Don’t let my rant put you off, just don’t be surprised when he acts completely out of character.

Ugh! Nicola loves to tear us apart then very slowly and painfully saw are hearts back together. And this book is much like the others but oh so different. Meli’s past is one of the more painful to read about. We always knew Ripper had abused her but we get the in-depth recount of what she went through. And if you have some triggers I would definitely tread car with this book. It’s not for the faint of heart. I heart literally hurt for Meli. And it wasn’t just the past it was also the present that will rip your heart out. She is definitely one of the strongest characters Ive read in a long time. Arther’s life is pulling him in so many directions but his priority is to keep Meli safe and when she isn’t he will burn down London to keep her safe. This book was intense and amazing all wrapped up in an angst filled, and bloody package. I loved it from beginning to end. And I can’t wait for the next book!.

Finally, the story we’ve all been waiting for… was well worth the wait, and actually took me little time to get through this, despite the odd tear. This excelled my original expectation and she hit it out of the park. My first thoughts were whether would Rosey beat her to her man, but was glad when Arthur saw her for the person she truly is and not the lie she shows to everyone else. I was distraught when she broke the glass, Meli showed us the real woman behind the facade, and Art really showed through at this point.
There were some characters in the book that I really struggled not to dislike for their treatment of her. They seemed to be completely ignorant of her feelings, especially for people who claim to be so close to her. PS. When are we getting Rosey’s story…because she’s going to need something special and someone very strong to keep her out of trouble…

I loved Arthur & Meli's story. Meli is sister Mav the president of the Perished Riders MC. Arthur is head of a mob and does business with the Perished Riders as he tries to wipe his slate clean. Meli had a hard upbringing as a child and affects her still in adulthood. Arthur is torn between his angel Meli on one shoulder and her best friend Rosie who works for him as his devil on the other shoulder. Rosie likes Arthur more than he does her as he feels more of an attraction to Meli. Meli tries to distance herself from Arthur since Rosie had him first in her eyes. But Arthur has other plans. Nicola keeps you turning the pages with all the twists and turns in this book.

This is Meli's story. A story that will have you crying and hoping for her to find that someone special that will put her first, and love her unconditionally.
Arthur is a business man and a ruthless gangster when needed. He keeps his streets clear of danger and trouble along side the Perished Riders MC. When he meets Meli, he finds the one person that can draw his heart out and show him that his life can be more.

We finally get Meli's story. This girl has gone from someone I almost hated from her behavior with Grim and Hadley to someone who I finally can see how she became the woman she is today. She is very misunderstood and she plays the part that people see. Until Arthur...he takes the time to get to know the real Amelia.
Even though this is a spin off we spend time with Maverick and the MC. It is like going back home except we are adding Arthur's family. I look forward to getting to know them more.
The story has twists and turns. I love seeing how strong Meli becomes in fighting for Arthur. The story pulled me in and I read through to the end. Love the pacing

Two of my favorite tropes in a the mafia and MC , I think the author Nicola Jane has come up with a good thing to put these two into a story. This is the story of Arthur and Meli aka Amelia. Amelia has had a troubled childhood and past that doesn't really know what to do with herself and she feels worthless and less worthy and has a low self-esteem even though her brother and Arthur say otherwise, she has trouble because to to believe. Will Arthur manage to help her and show her that she is worth something and that she has a right to love someone who loves her and keeps her safe? You will get answers to all these questions when you read this book. I'm already completely hooked and can't wait for the next story.

Arthur is the first book in Nicola Jane’s new series and a spin-off from The Perished Riders MC Series and tells the story of Arthur Taylor, eldest of 4 brothers and head of his Mafia family, and Amelia (Meli) Maverick, sister of Mav, the President of the Perished Riders MC. I have waited with baited breath for Meli’s story and I must say, it did not disappoint! I was surprised how quickly I read this book, I was gripped from the very beginning and flew through the pages.
I absolutely love dark and very steamy books, plus Mafia and MC romance are my favourite tropes so it’s a match made in Heaven for me! It ticks all the boxes that’s for sure.
A thoroughly deserved 5 stars. Can’t wait for more from both the Perished Riders MC and the Taylor brothers.

I've followed Meli in previous books and I didn't like her very much. This book changes that opinion because you learn her backstory and what she endured as a child. The guilt she carries shapes her actions. Arthur is torn between the easy path with her friend Rosey, because they are similar in everyday life, and Meli. He sees her pain, doesn't want to cause more, but realizes what he feels for her is different. I loved the story, but Arthur seemed ineffective. He let all the women in his life walk all over him. Meli will take you on an emotional roller coaster and you can't help but cheer her on when she finally takes a stand. I loved Rosey, who was a hoot, and can't wait for her story.

If you have read any of the Perished Riders MC books, you have met Arthur and Meli. Arthur is a local Mob boss and Meli is the sister of the Perished Riders MC President. I didn't think they would be a couple with Meli's past and Arthur being Arthur. I didn't see that Meli is what Arthur needs. With everything they went through for their HEA, they are one of the strongest couples I've encountered. I won't lie, Meli's past broke me and how she dealt with it pieced me back together. As I read this book, Halestorm's song "Break In" kept repeating in my head. Our new MC/Mafia power couple - Arthur and Meli!.

Arthur by Nicola Jane is the shocking, exciting story oof Arthur and Meli. She’s related to the local MC. Arthur works with them to keep the peace. Meli has a past and is battling her demons. She’s always liked Arthur, but lots of obstacles prevent anything between them. Some of those obstacles are self-generated…on both sides! Meanwhile, there are various serious threats against them….and the potential of a deadly war….
I absolutely devoured this read!!! Never a dull moment in the story, and things got so twisted….events so intertwined…and at the heart of it all are Arthur and Meli! Nonstop action and hugely romantic1!!
