Engine fires, sabotage, and two friends falling in love…
Engineer Victor Tsui needs to figure out why his race cars keep failing. Being Gamble Racing's Chief Engineer is his dream job and he's built a fast car. But there is something wrong with his design and he needs to understand how to fix it before next season.
Hot headed driver Lucien Grenville has nowhere to go over the winter break, so when his friend Victor expresses frustration at the recent run of engine failures, he decides to hang out and offer support.
Things get awkward when Lucien gets an intense urge to kiss Victor, and they need to decide if this is going to remain a friendship or become something more.
Renée Dahlia is an unabashed romance reader who loves feisty women and strong, clever men. Her books reflect this, with a side-note of awkward humour. Renée has a science degree in physics. When not distracted by the characters fighting for attention in her brain, she works in the horse racing industry doing data analysis. When she isn’t reading or writing, Renée spends time with her partner, four children, and volunteers on the local cricket club committee.
❤️ I loved the first book and I love this one too. The second book for the series which continues with the mystery of car engine fires for the Gamble Racing team which happens in book one, but described in this book for the standalone.
Lucien 25 years was worried about his friend Victor 30 years, as he was stressing out about the happenings the racing tracks and fearing for his job as engineer. I loved the scene when Lucian just throws Victor over his shoulders and walks out with him. This has a few places in the where they had me laughing in scenes.
Socrates tries plays matchmaker again with them both as he did in book one. A Christmas road trip and things heat up for Lucian and Victor. I loved those scenes as both characters feel their emotions becoming more, and the struggle of friendship if things go south if they don’t workout for them. Hot sexy scenes of them switching in the bedrooms and other places. A gorgeous best friends to lovers romance between the two with all the emotions. A great ending to the book with the mystery solved. I can’t wait for Jaxson’s story next.
