Bold Melodies #2

Bright Melody

In the middle of the storm, she is the sunshine.

Can a bad-boy rock star overcome his rough reputation to gain the respect of his colleagues? Can a hometown sweetheart make her dreams come true in LA?

Will falling in love threaten everything?

Travis

A leaked sex tape. A bitter ex-girlfriend. An angry record label.

Nobody was happy with me right now.

My band was going on hiatus to weather the fallout. The label slotted me as a judge for Hidden Voices to recoup my reputation.

I didn’t expect to find Jody singing behind the veil, her voice warming my soul, her soft body calling to me.

But I can’t get involved with a contestant if I’m a judge, or my reputation and my career could bomb.

Jody

Music was the light of my life, the link to my late mother, the energy in my veins, the sun in my sky.

People stopped and paid attention when I took the stage with my little garage band at the local biker bar. I might not be LA famous, but in Savannah, I was a rock star. If I wanted a shot at the big leagues, I had to tame my attitude and insecurities, or the industry would eat me alive.

Then, Hidden Voices had blind auditions in my area, and Momma D told me I had to go. So off I went, ready to follow my dreams, even if I crashed and burned in the arms of a forbidden judge.

Reading Heather E Andrews is like listening to your favourite love song.
I love how gently her books flow. Travis and Jody are a lovely pairing and I am so here for the sisterhood Jody developed with Lulu. For too long women have been pitted against women in romance novels and this friendship was beautiful.
Jody's relationships back home really helped round out her character. She's tough as nails and doesn't take crap from anyone, especially her awful ex and dreadful father. Momma D was fantastic, and her dedication to raising Jody was beautiful. I enjoyed all the scenes between these two vivacious women.
Travis, as much as he's the love interest, isn't the star of this book. But I did empathise with him and I like how he decided to fight for himself in regard to the leaked sex tape. He made a lot of good points and really started to try and do the right thing, especially where Leena was concerned.
I can't wait to see who Heather's next book is about.

Travis needs to find himself pronto before he loses his sanity and his band. His best friend suggested he take a hard look at himself and stop letting others telling him how to be him, especially after the sex tape. This has his band members heading in all directions away from him, so as angry as he is he’s all into finding himself. The label got him a job and so he meets Jody. She’s beautiful, tough and fierce and you could almost call it fate. But I’m half way through the book and I’m just not into these two characters. There’s no chemistry, maybe if he had been less sleazy in the beginning but who know. There’s also a lot of conversations, outings and stuff that don’t move the story forward and it’s dragging. This is supposed to be a love story but the two main characters are not together very much. It had a good ending and I’m giving it three stars.

This is the first book I've read by this author and it is so freaking good. The characters are so well written that they pull you into the story. I know this book is about Jody and Travis but I absolutely loved Momma D. I honestly think everyone needs a Momma D in their life. Back to Jody and Travis they meet by accident the first time but once they meet up again is when things start to get really interesting. Jody started singing when she was younger in church and then in a biker bar when she was 17. Now at the age of 26 her Momma D pushes her to audition for the show Hidden Voices. It's there that she meets Travis. Travis has been playing in bands since he was a teenager. Now he is living the rock star dream or is he? Things happen and his label puts him basically in time out. He has to be a judge/trainer for the singers on his team. It's during this time he meets Jody. If you want to know what happens in their story you need to buy this book. You won't be disappointed.

A rockstar romance that hits all the right notes

This is not only the first book I've read by Andrews but also the first time I've read a curvy girl romance. What I appreciated most about it was how the FMC Jody shared much of her painful past and found a way to love and accept herself fully. She and Travis meet when, after an embarrassing sex tape scandal, he is forced to judge "Hidden Voices" as a way to rehab his image, but he and Jody meet as if they're destined to be together--and they absolutely are. They slowly find themselves falling in love and there are plenty of steamy scenes between them... but you'll have to read the book to find out more!

If you like light hearted rock star romances, then I think you'll enjoy this book!

Travis is a disgraced rockstar trying to turn his life around and forced to take the role of judge and mentor on a singing competition.

Jody is a singer and competitor on Hidden Voices. She meets Travis before the competition starts in rather funny circumstances and there is an immediate attraction between the two.

Bright Melody follows the story of both Jody and Travis as they work through the competition and gradually become closer.

A great short, enjoy reading.

This one took a bit longer.

So I didn't quite enjoy this one as much as I did with El and Skyler story. Not sure why, but this one just felt rushed and very unrealistic. Also, there some typos, A LOT of switching between first and third person in the middle of paragraphs that really took me out of the story, and overall, like I said, the plot just felt a bit weak. Not my favorite story in this series so far. Let's see how Amelia and Warren's story turns out.

I like it

Not gonna repeat the content of the book. There was some printing errors but I love the story. The characters were fun and a great experience to see them fall in love and thankfully you had more story then page after page of sex. Read these books you won't be disappointed.

Pretty good…

Bright Melody by Heather E. Andrews: 3.5 stars
Jody and Travis meet and fall in love as rock star Travis coaches the “Hidden Voices” competition and Jody competes. Lots of issues, challenges and life changes along the way, and of course chemistry. This was just an ok story for me — it didn’t pull me in until the last 25%.

There's something about Travis. I loved his and Jody's story. I loved all the surrounding story because its not a straight up boy meets girl story. They are both great characters.

The writing is great and I enjoyed reading it.

Nice

Fun reading and a good story. I enjoyed the characters. The humor was fun reading. Was glad that Travis was still part of his band cause I was thinking the way it was going you were shutting down the band and I hate those stories.

Brilliant

Thoroughly enjoyed this story and it was great seeing Elsie and Skyler make appearances. I'd love to read more about these characters, and perhaps new ones too.
