This is a very short book with a lot of practical advice. Lot of books give advice, but I found this book to really hone in on the mistakes that many writers make. It was obvious that the author was very knowledgeable, and she was very good at explaining herself. Good book.
This is a quick read, with clear examples of correct and incorrect usage of grammar and punctuation. It also has tips on how to organize your writing as well as how to make it more effective by addressing style questions and how to avoid common mistakes, like misused terms.
A very good check-list reference book, the do and do-not's of grammar. Unfortunately the section covering writing short punchy letters and articles (polished or not) was, disappointingly, covered very briefly.
The book is virtually divided into 50 % content and 50 % reference. The former is useful writing tips. The later is only for reference - things you can generally find on appendix of dictionary or Grammer book.
