Nate is an author who seems to be stuck in a rut, both in life and writing. His brother send him to Candy Cane Key to shake things up. Here he meets Teddie, the owner of the house he stays in. Things quickly develop from there...but can Nate change habits and really let Teddie in?.

A sizzling grumpy/sunshine novella from the fantastic Elyse Kelly that will put you in the early Christmas season as the Grinch gets some delicious hostess cheer.
Nate is in a rut.
He is not writing and on a deadline, with only six weeks left to produce a working novel. Thankfully, his annoying brother already has a plan...involving Nate to fly out to a holiday destination and share a house with a cheerful young lady hellbent on getting smile out of him.
Teddie is a spoonful of sugar and ready to shove some of it down Nate's throat.
He's aloof and rude, but she believes she can get through to him.

“Mister Write” is a small town romance by Elyse Kelly, and it’s part of the Man of the Month: Candy Cane Key series. The two POV characters, Nate and Teddie, are definitely a good example of the grumpy/sunshine trope. I’m not normally a fan of insta love, but in this case I thought it was cute! Nate and Teddie’s relationship was absolutely adorable, and I thought they were both likable characters. To sum it up, I thought this was a good read!

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I really enjoyed this book!
Nate and Teddie met when his brother books him a vacation in the Candy Cane Keys. Nate is an author and is stuck with a book he needs to get done. Teddie's grandmother gave her her home and now she runs a VRBO. When Nate arrives in Candy Cane Keys he can't believe how hot it is then he finds out that they do celebrate Christmas everyday of the year. He's picked up by a Santa driver and taken to Teddie's him. Teddie greets Nate then he goes to his room, she tries to get to know all her clients but can tell he's going to be a hard one. When Nate does come out of his room it's to get something to drink and Teddie is right there to help him. She offers him cookies that she bakes everyday when he refuses she shoves one in his mouth. When Nate smells that Teddie is baking cookies again he wants to know why she bakes everyday. Teddie tells him he didn't read his VRBO agreement, he tells her he didn't book this trip his brother did. Nate goes back to his room and tries to write more of his book, but doesn't get much done. Late a night Teddie is in the kitchen making the menu for the next day when Nate comes out to have some quiet time but finds her in the kitchen. When Nates moves closer Teddie they stare at one another, then he kisses her. Then Nate scoops Teddie up and carries her to his room, he pleasures her then they make love. When Nate wakes the next morning he finds Teddie already gone, he goes to find her in the kitchen. So Nate heads back to his room to open his laptop and the words start to pour out of him. Soon Nate has a few chapters written for this next book. A week later, they fall into a routine. Teddie gets his coffee, then he write for several hours, the each lunch together, then he writes more, until it's time for dinner. Every night they brainstorm ideas about the book that Nate is writing while eating cookies Teddie bakes during the day. Teddie tries not to get too attached to Nate since he'll be gone in a week, but she can't help her feelings. When Nate gets stumped again in his writing he goes to find Teddie baking cookies. Teddie asks Nate if he needs anything, he tells her that's not what he needs right now. Nate lets Teddie know he wants her, they head to his room. Nate pleasures Teddie then they make love. Teddie asks Nate to stay longer since she is helping him with his writing block, but he tells her that this could never be his life. Teddie dresses and leave, when he tries to stop her she tells him that him leaving will be good for both of them. Teddie stays away from Nate all day she stays in her room, fleshing out book ending for his book. After Nate goes to bed Teddie heads into his room taking his laptop and finishing his book for him. Then she heads to bed she's only got a few hours before he leaves. When Teddie wakes up she finds Nate gone all his things gone. Her emotions spill out of her, and she breaks down and cries. Nate laied in bed for hours when he finally got up he didn't find Teddie anywhere in the house. Nate packed his things and called his Uber to catch his plane ride back to New York. When the Uber driver arrived he left because he couldn't find Teddie anywhere. When he gets back to New York his brother is waiting for him in his office. Nate's brother asks him about his trip, then he tell Nate that he's in love with Teddie. Soon Nate is getting messages and phone calls from his publisher when he calls her back he finds out his book is a success. His publisher wants a new series from him, when Nate opens his laptop he discovers that Teddie finished the book for him. Nate calls his brother and asks him for the information on the VRBO so that he can fly back to Candy Cane Keys. Forty eight hours later, Nate shows back up in Candy Cane Keys and surprises Teddie. Nate tells Teddie what his publisher wants from him and he want Teddie to help with the new series. Nate confesses that he loves Teddie and Teddie tells Nate she loves him. Nate tells Teddie he's not good with relationships he not good at communicating. Teddie tells him maybe he hasn't found the right person, she likes taking care of him. Nate agrees it felt good, Teddie tells him her favorite part was helping him with his book. Nate tells her that he found his spark in her he lost it. Nate asks Teddie if she'll forgive him he'll do anything for her. Teddie tells him this is crazy, but Nate tells her he wants to be crazy with her. They head to Teddie's room and she pleasures him, then they make love. Nate tells Teddie he needs a place to stay at least until his next series is written, Teddie tells him they can work something out she know the manager. They finished the book series a month early which took their publisher by surprise. Halfway through the series Nate knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Teddie. So he asks her to marry him and she said yes, then they head off to Fiji for their honeymoon. Now Nate can't imagine his life without Teddie. Nate could never write a story more perfect than theirs.

Mister Write is a super-sweet Grumpy/Sunshine read.
Author Nate specialises in writing mysteries and thrillers, but he's currently experiencing a mental block. With his agent putting pressure on him, it's all getting too much, and he's starting to struggle. Peter, his brother, arranges for him to spend a month at a holiday home in Candy Kane Key so he can rest, refresh, and hopefully rediscover his creative inspiration. He keeps a few little crucial details to himself, such as the fact that Candy Kane Key is very Christmassy throughout the year and that he will be staying with Teddie, the owner of the house, who bakes cookies every day and decorates her tree with a different theme for every holiday all year round.
I loved the way the author created Candy Kane Key; small touches like the only taxi driver in the area being a super jolly man driving a taxi with antlers and a reindeer nose added to the charm of the place. Along with Teddie being like a little Christmas elf—so bubbly, chatty, and kind.
Their relationship gradually grows, and we learn later in the book that Nate is neurodivergent and has some nuances that he is very particular about, but Teddie accepts them and caters to them without question. They discuss his books, and she helps with ideas, inspiring him, and they have some beautiful, spicy times.
Unfortunately, all good things and vacations must come to an end, and both main characters are left heartbroken until the sideline characters of Nate's brother Peter and Teddies neighbour Rose step in to help them both realise what they want.

It's no big secret in my house. I'm a bit of Scrooge and, therefore, not a massive fan of holiday-themed romance stories. However, I am a huge fan of Author Elyse Kelly, and if she writes it, I will grab some holiday cheer and dive right in.
"Mr. Writes," I can do. It's not holiday thrown into my face, and I like it that way—see, I told you, Scrooge. Teddie, who lives in Candy Cane Key, a town that celebrates Christmas year round., hosts a VRBO listing to a writer, Nate, who has a deadline to meet and is looking to hunker down in a quiet place and write. He doesn't expect to meet the vibrant and polar opposite of his grumpy, reclusive nature, Teddie, and the town of Candy Cane Key, which is full of holiday cheer.
Author Elyse Kelly gives readers a well-paced plot with plenty of steamy scenes and an MMC with a filthy mouth. I also liked Nate's acknowledgment of him being neurodivergent––this doesn't happen too often in books. With all that, I wouldn't mind living in Candy Cane Key myself! "Mr. Writes" was quite an enjoyable read, giving this Scrooge a temporary holiday spirit.

~Nate MMC is a Thriller writer who is currently having a writer’s block!!! This is causing him to have a major headache which he can’t even go past the 1st chapter of his new novel. He asked for an extension knowing that his deadline was coming up but nothing was helping since he is always cooped up in his apartment writing his books. His brother being the lovely brother that he is tricked him and forced him to take a mandatory trip to Florida so he booked him a flight plus a bed & breakfast in Candy Cane Key for a month, poor Nate was not pleased. This bed & breakfast is owned by Teddie FMC, she is a ball of sunshine, who loves to bake cookies every day and loves to celebrate every holiday even the ones that are not major ones. Nate has just arrived on time to celebrate author’s day!!! But Nate is such a Grinch/scrooge in the beginning, soon this will all change when he realizes that all he needed was a Teddie in his life!!!

I absolutely loved this book, beginning with the hilarious Author’s Note all the way to The End; it was THAT good!
Nate’s a well known author with a bad case of writer’s block in hot water with his editor when his brother takes it upon himself to make reservations for him in a place called Candy Cane Key, Florida in what’s essentially an Air B and B.
Teddie is the owner of the home in which he would be staying and prides herself on giving her guests the perfect holiday experience and keeps her tree decorated year round and bakes cookies for them daily. At first her constant cheerfulness drove him nuts but eventually he realized he craved it and her. He should’ve known he wouldn’t be able to resist her for very long.
Teddie and Nate were so good together and when they had their little third act hiccup and he returned to New York, you couldn’t help but want to cry for them. Thankfully Nate’s Mama didn’t raise no fool and, 48 hours after leaving he was back in Florida with his heart in his hands and Teddie was only too willing to welcome him back.
Ms. Kelly is a new to author but she’s definitely got me interested!!.

Nate has a strict routine that he abide by. When he developes writer’s black, he is at a loss of what to do. His publisher wants a book in 6 weeks and that only adds to his frustration. Nate’s brother, Peter, arranged for Nate to take a vacation in a Christmas town no less! All of that cheerfulness just may prove to be too much for him.
Nate is met by Teddie, the VRBO’s owner who is as cheerful as they come. She is constantly smiling and backing cookies. Nate does his best to not like her, but Teddie’s curviness only feed his imagination. He finds that Teddie is helpful to him and his writing.
Unfortunately, Nate is only there for a month. He is mean when he reminds her of this.
This book was incredibly written! I felt for Teddie and found it difficult to cheer for Nate because of how much of a jerk he could be. But, alas, Teddie does love him so I figure Nate cannot be all that bad. : )

Mister Write is a short and super-steamy, small town, grumpy-sunshine, opposites-attract, curvy girl gets her hunky writer romance. Teddie is a curvy girl who is a ray of sunshine and has a VRBO for her house in Candy Kane Key. Nate is a hunky, grumpy, neurodivergent writer from New York with a serious case of writer's block and a looming deadline. His brother, Peter, who is always looking out for him, books him a room in Teddie's Christmas themed VRBO for a month, hoping a change of scenery will help with his writer's block. At first, Nate doesn't know what to make of Teddie, but the more time they spend together, the more he is drawn to her. And then things get hot and steamy. Teddie accepts Nate in all of his socially akward glory and lack of tact until he really messes up. They had serious chemistry, and after a bit of drama, we got a wonderful HEA. I can't wait for Peter's story!! This was a great short and steamy read!!.

One of those exception books for me that just stood out, possibly too because I always find this time of the year quite stressful with the end of another year and then family birthdays and Christmas to top it all off. But this wonderful read left me laughing and simply finding the time to take that well earned breather we all need to take in our lives. Fantastic characters and simply loved the chemistry that existed between the two main characters, Nate and Teddie. If he is the first man of the month definitely looking forward to more of them in my life. The other element loved of the story was the setting of the story in a highly creative place of Candy Cane Key, where opposites seemingly find connection and success with one another. Basically its a feel good story and prefect for Festive season reading.

Teddie and Nate have a chokehold on me!
Nate is suffering from an awful bought of writers block so his meddling brother sends him off to Candy Cane Key for a month for a change of scenery where Nate finds that he’s staying with Teddie at her house/hotel.
He’s grumpy about the whole situation but Teddie is so bright and happy that he can’t help but give into his desires. They spend the month in each others beds and she helps him work through the writers block on the process by helping plot out the book.
I loved the way they played off each other and Nate learns to not be such a turd when the third act drama occurs and he almost loses her!
I’m so sad this man of the month series is almost at its end. Where did 2023 go?!

This book is a part of the Candy Cane Key series and focuses on Nate and Teddie. Nate is a writer who is experiencing an extreme case of writer's block. He has six weeks to finish his latest manuscript but has been unable to write anything for months. His brother decides to take matters into his own hands and books Nate a trip to Candy Cane Key for six weeks to hopefully get him out of his funk. When Nate gets to his rental, the last thing he is expecting is Teddie and his reaction to her. Little does he know, Teddie is exactly what he didn’t know he needed to be happy in his life. This was a great book and a great addition to the series.

I loved Mister Write: A Man of the Month Club. Nate is having the worst case of writers block. When his brother sends him to Candy Cane Key, he thinks he’s in hell. Meeting at Teddie is annoying at first but then he falls for her but it’s just temporary until he goes home. Right? They can’t be together and he needs to make sure she understands he’s leaving. Maybe he doesn’t tell her in the best way or at the best time. When he realizes his mistake after he gets home will Teddie forgive him? I loved the storyline and the characters. She’s sunshine to his grumpiness. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

I really liked reading this story. It’s fast paced and easy to read. Nate has had a writers block for a few months and needs help getting over it. So his brother sets up a month long vacation at Candy Cane Key in a VRBO. Nate doesn’t realize that Teddie, the owner will be hosting him. And when they hit it off and get hot and heavy his writers block disappears. But is it sex or is it Teddie. Will Nate end up breaking Teddie’s heart. I loved this story, it’s sweet and steamy with great characters and well written. Excellent writing.

This is a quick, super spicy little novella. I did not expect staid Nate to have that dirty mouth in the bedroom but wild things can lie below still waters. Even the breakup is short-lived between these two so it seems like a relationship would be decently easy to get along long-term.

I really love Teddy. She is happy and really just wants to make everyone happy and make everything better. I love how she treats her neighbor, Rose. She is so sweet, kind and loving. Rose was her grandma's best friend. I love the way Teddy makes her guests stay special. I would like more interaction from tge townspeople. I like grumpy Nate. He tries not to be a jerk, he just is one. I love his brother and hope we get a book from him. This is a well written heartwarming story with likeable characters, low drama and realistic emotions. 4.5 Glowing Stars.

Candy Cane Key, here we come again! Teddie and Nate are complete opposites. She’s sunshine and sugar cookies and he’s a grumpy guy who has a case of writer’s block. His annoying brother books him a vacation in Candy Cane Key hoping it will cure the problem and get him out of his comfort zone. Teddie and her daily cookies and friendly disposition have Nate going crazy until he snaps snd things really start to heat up in the kitchen. Another cute read set in Candy Cane Key. Teddie and Nate are great together with lots of chemistry. Rose adds hilarity, comfort and has a love for cookies as Teddie’s elderly neighbour. The romance is perfection. Nate and Teddie are a fun couple to watch as they maneuver through the grumpiness and sunshine contrasting personalities into an opposites attract mode of lust, passion and possibly something more than a vacation fling.
I love this romance and how it manages to fit so much emotion and character into this novella. This is the kind of story that I will re-read many times over when I need a romance fix!.

This is grumpy/sunshine, steamy quick read. This is definitely a book you could sit down and devour on a rainy afternoon. It is fun, sweet, and spicy. Nate and Teddie are such a cute couple, he is definitely grumpy to her sunshine. She kills him with kindness until he can’t help but want to spend time with her. She is the muse that helps with his writer's block. If you are looking for an easy and enjoyable read this may be the book for you. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book! 3.75 stars

His gorgeous Christmas sprite keeps him on his toes with her sassy comebacks, her sweet cookies and midnight brainstorming, but the best thing about her is that she breaks through Nate's rigid and constrictive routine to free his mind and his creative juices. I love the Nate we see emerge from the fog of writing to embrace life again and reenter the land of the living.
A great addition to the series, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Cute, Fun, Flirty
Loved this grumpy/sunshine novella set in my favorite town! Nate is so grumpy and he's mad at the world because he's got writers block and the last thing he needs and wants is a vacation in a small Florida town where it's Xmas all the time but his brother will not take no for an answer. When he arrives he is taken back by Teddie the Airbnb owner. He had no idea how much she would change his world. Teddie loves Nate's ideas and is happy to take care of him but when it becomes too much can they survive it?? Happy Reading!!
