From USA Today bestselling authors, Willow Winters and Lauren Landish, comes a sizzling and tempting romance about the bad boy you can't resist.
I lived my life with no regrets. Until she showed up.
It started with her old man. That stubborn bastard set me up. He knew what he was doing, and I fell for his daughter before I even heard her voice. What was he thinking, trying to set her up with a prick like me? She's too good for me.
I should've walked away, but every time she told me no, it only made me want to chase her more. I shouldn’t have brought her into my life. I'm trouble, that's all I am, and I brought that to her doorstep.
But I can’t let her go now, even if she hates me for it. She tempted me; now she's mine.
Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
Tempted: A Bad Boy Next Door Romance By Willow Winters, Lauren Landish
These two authors together seem to becoming one hell of team…Once again authors Willow Winters & Lauren Landish hit it out of the park a 2nd time around with “Tempted”.
We meet Liam Axton after Elizabeth step father seems to have left pretty much everything to him in this “WILL” Elizabeth, how to best describe her reaction once she realized that her step father had left perfect much everything to stranger, well that’s what she thought he was to her Daddy… Lil did Lizzie know that Liam had spent the last 3 months with her dying step father. Liam knew everything that he need to know about Elizabeth since Richard made sure of that fact.. What was Richard thinking when he consciously or unconsciously set his daughter up with a bookie? Even though Liam Axton has some legal businesses, he still had some very scary enemies that would stop at nothing to get revenge on him
I would love to tell you every small detail about this book but I do not want to spoil it for you. So i am would like to tell you my favorite part of the book instead. I love the letter that Richard wrote to Liam on his dying bed. . I know that it is unfair not give you more details about the book.. But this one you need to read
I highly recommend this sexy **"I voluntarily reviewed this ARC" ..** .**In exchange for an honest review.**
Jesus, this was awful. I only made it through 7% of this story before my Kindle starting screaming for mercy. But that tiny little portion of the book gave me enough eye-rolls that I still have a headache. Here it goes (taking a deep breath):
1. This might seem like a tiny thing, but Lizzie’s friend Nat snaps at her during her father’s funeral reception for eating too many cookies. She’s suffered a great loss, here. Let her eat the cookies, you heartless bitch! And by the way, who only brings a dozen cookies to something like that? Don’t be a cheapskate. Bring several dozen, especially if you own the damn bakery.
2. When Lizzie sees hottie Liam at the funeral, she’s interested in him. When she sees him at the lawyer’s office for the reading of her father’s will, she snarls at him like a rabid badger. Emotional whiplash anyone?
3. And speaking of that rabid badger routine...what the hell is Lizzie’s problem with this guy? He’s a complete stranger. Where did the irrational hate-at-first-sight come from? Why automatically assume the guy is some asshole who purposefully set out to swindle you out of your inheritance? Liam—I shit you not—gets a hard-on in the lawyer’s office when he’s all alone, just by thinking of the heroine, who he’s never met. (He saw her at a distance at the funeral, where she wasn’t naked). I don’t own a penis so I can’t say for sure, but I’m guessing that past their teenage years, most men have a little bit more control over their dicks than that. (And if not, seriously, how do you guys get anything done?)
4. So, Liam of course, isn’t interested in the inheritance money. He immediately says so. But instead of accepting this gracefully, Lizzie, still in full-on badger mode, lashes out at him once again. His response? Tell her he wants a date with her. Now, up until this point, I was completely on Team Liam (despite the creepy hard-on incident). But this suggestion makes Lizzie (and me as a reader) think he’s only going to give up the inheritance if she goes out with him. That kinda has a prostitute-y vibe there to it, Liam. Now I don’t like either of the main characters in the story. Congrats, guys. That’s at 5% of the story. Pretty sure that’s a new record for me.
5. Now I’m at 6%. I’m no quitter, so I endure. Lizzie angrily stomps up to Liam’s door after spending some quality time in woe-is-me land and chit-chatting with the lawyer (who frankly, is the only character in the story I actually like at this point). Her first thought when Liam (who she HATED on sight, who she thinks swindled her father and robbed her of her inheritance) opens the door? “God, he’s so fucking handsome.” Yep. Seems about right.
6. Liam tolerates her angry outbursts for a while before grabbing her and pinning her to the wall in his foyer, trapping her hands above her head. Now, if this happened to me, and some stranger pinned me to a wall in anger, I’d introduce that guy’s nuts to my knee pretty damn fast. A woman can’t afford to give an angry stranger the benefit of the doubt in a physical situation like that. But what did our intrepid heroine do? Trembled beneath his gaze and got turned on. Sigh.
7. Now I’m at 7% and this line jumps out and smacks me in the face: “If she wasn’t Richard’s baby girl I’d make sure I fucked this broad out of my system.” And...I’m out.
Overall thoughts? I wouldn’t wish this one on my worst enemy.
"Tempted": A bad boy next door Romance. Well I am tempted to tell you that Liam really is not a bad boy, but that would be lie. Our bad boy Liam only qualifies because he is a bookie , not the most legal of business, however he is smart enough to invest in several legal businesses also. What I will say is that I had a hard time seeing this sexy alpha male as a bad boy. Maybe you will too.
Liam first meets Elizabeth, physically at the lawyers office handling her step father's will, though he feels like he has known her forever; after all she is all her stepfather talked about. Liam had spent the last three months with Richard , he first met Richard when he came to Liam's business looking to place a large bet suing his rental home as collateral, not because Richard was a gambler really, but he was desperate for money to pay for cancer treatment. Richard was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer and his insurance refused to pay for treatment. Did Liam take the bet? No, this bad boy gave him the money because Richard reminded him of his own father, but Richard being the man he is insisted that Liam take the deed for the rental house. The house turned out to be next door . Liam , would check in on Richard and listen to him talk about his beloved Lizzie and his pride in her doing her masters in psychology. Richard would tell stories non- stop, so much that Liam felt he knew Lizzie , before even meeting her ;so much that Liam wants to keep her for his own.
Elizabeth, notices Liam at her father's funeral and wonders why this drop dead gorgeous guy , who to spite her grief sets her body on fire is at her dads funeral , luckily her freind Natalie is able to fill her in; well up to the point that he lives in the rental house. However , more surprising is seeing him at the lawyers office for the will reading wanting to get this over with and go home and greive without any gawkers. Richard's will however floors Elizabeth and immediately makes Liam an enemy; Richard left everything to him with the exception of the one house she grew up in. Liam immediately tells her he does not want anything, and he doesn't, but he can not resist asking for one date He knows he shouldn't chase her, but he wants her none the less. One date the nerve of him, and the anger stays with her driving her to confront him later ; what ch finds her pinned to a wall lusting for him. Days later, giving into Liam's request for a date seems like a fair concession if it means getting back everything that Richard gave away. Liam wants to be able to comfort Elizabeth, but he is going to have to go slow , gain her trust, help her understand why he was present inRichards life while Richard was fighting cancer and why Richard did not want her to know , did not want her to remember him that ill. Liam breaks down Elle's walls and these two fall into a sexy ,sweet relationship, until Liam's real business, his bookie business gets in the way, putting his Elle in danger. Can their new relationship survive the lie, the lie of omission? Can Liam protect her from his competition ? I am not telling, the story line is more than compelling enough to grab you from the beginning and hold you to the very end! Arc Graciuosly supplied by authors for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this book ,If someone told me most of the story is set the first month after somebody dies I wouldn't have read it cos how good could it be. But in this book it really dose keep you interested and hanging out to read the next page, the story was really well put together and the death added to the way the charters interacted with each other making a more believable story line an a very good read.
"Tempted": A bad boy next door Romance is one sensual romance read. Liam is really not a bad boy but the job he has qualifies him for the title because he is a bookie. Liam also has some legal businesses that he runs to keep on the up and up. Liam first meets Elizabeth at the lawyers office which is handling her stepfather’s affairs but see, Liam knew about Elizabeth for longer because her stepfather, before he died, talked about her . Liam had spent the last three months with Richard . There is this great story about how Richard met Liam and how they sort of bonded before his death and then when Liam met Elizabeth physically, it was like WOW, he fell for her. Elizabeth wondered who this handsome man was that was in her life suddenly and who he was to her stepfather. Slowly we get to see these two bond and get to know each other because Liam doesn’t want to overwhelm her due to her grief. Their connection was hot and sweet and then there is a villain in the mix and his name is Ian. Oh and it gets intense. I loved how Liam was there , trying to protect his Lizzie from harm and from the secrets he has – will Liam ever be able to prove his love and also get a 2nd chance when Lizzie finds everything out? I highly recommend this sexy and sweet alpha romance novel.
My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Elizabeth is back home from school for her dads funeral. She is heartbroken and cannot believe her dad is gone. At the funeral she spots a very handsome man she has never seen before and wonders about him.
She doesn't have to wonder for long. She meets Liam at her father Richard's will reading. He has left everything to Liam. Elizabeth gets the family home and the contents, which is right next door to a house that has already been given to Liam. She is surprised and distraught and goes a little physco. Instead of asking questions and trying to find out who Liam is and why this happened, she accuses him of stealing from her dad. His response to all her crazy accusations is for her to go out on a date with him so they could discuss the situation.
Elizabeth decides to go on this date with Liam which leads to her finding out that Liam actually had a relationship with her dad. Liam knows a lot about Elizabeth because of the time he spent with Richard in the final months of his life. On this date she starts to realize her thoughts about Liam may have been incorrect.
They are both a little back and forth with the relationship. She has insecurities and knows that she has to go back to school and he is worried that he isn't good enough for her. She is totally broken up about the fact her dad didn't let her know he was ill and she feels guilt that she wasn't there for him. Liam has feelings for Elizabeth, but thinks she is better off without him.
When things are finally looking up, Elizabeth finds out exactly what Liam does and she is right smack in the middle of the war he is having with a business rival. She also finds out exactly how her dad knows Liam and how he helped him.
This was a quick read for me. Besides healing and acceptance, there are steamy sex scenes, some suspense, and we see Liam take steps to keep his girl safe by any means necessary.
No cheating No OW/OM drama HEA Cute little epilogue
To be honest I was a little nervous when I started reading this book. I didn’t really like Luke. He’s a little bit too cocky for me and Elizabeth seemed so whiny even though she was going through very painful things. But after, I would say 25% in, their story and chemistry really pulled me in. I was totally intrigued and had to figure out what was going on with these two.

Elizabeth and Liam Natalie runs sweet Morsels bakery full time. Liz is back in her hometown and Natalie was her best friend. She’s back in her hometown because her stepfather just passed away. He has cancer. Her mom passed away when she was younger so he’s all she had left. During her fathers service she noticed a handsome man and Nat tells her it’s Liam Axton, he was her dads next door neighbor. Him and Lizzie are both together for the hearing of her fathers will. He gave the house and it’s contents to Lizzie and everything else to Liam. He had planned on giving her the house next door back that her father had transferred into his name. But she gets angry and lashes out and says how he didn’t even know her father. He had fallen in love with Lizzie just listening to her father talk about her. He figured she’d get it all but for some reason Richard left it to him. He says he doesn’t want it but he wants a date with Lizzie. Richard made him promise not to tell his daughter the truth about the last few months so he knows she’ll hate him no matter what. Richard set him up for failure. Richard had came into Liam’s family business wanting to place bets to get money to pay for his treatment, he wanted to fight the colon cancer. But his bet lost and he didn’t have the money to pay up. Usually they don’t let that slide but Richard told him the truth and came in with the deed to the house and said his real estate agent couldn’t sell it quick enough but it should be enough to cover what he lost. Liam didn’t want to take it but Richard insisted. When he realized it was the house right next door he started staying there and checking in Richard every day. They had coffee together. He had a hospital bed in his living room. The cancer got him quick but he begged Liam not to tell his daughter, he didn’t want her to see him like this. Liam repeatedly told him he needed to tell her. Lizzie had came over and yelled at him and he pinned her against the wall and they were both turned on but then she left and he was left with the pain. He comes over to her house to appologize for how he acted towards her and she agrees to the date with him. When he shows up she asks him to stay in the living room and she notices how comfortable he is there, he’s watching her dads favorite show, and knew how to operate the remotes. He takes her to an Italian restaurant that she knows is expensive. He orders the wine and the menu overwhelms her but he helps her. She asks what he does and he doesn’t want to tell her the truth so he tells her he does investments just like he owns half of this restaurant. He had also brought her father here for his first time. She opened up and they had a great meal and this is exactly what he wanted. He took her back to his house to play cards which he knew she loved from Richard. He was having trouble deciding which house to take her to but decided to take her to the one next door to her dads. He told her over dinner everything is hers and it’s all being transferred into her name he doesn’t know why her dad did that. He has to convince her yo come over for cards. She turns the game into strip poker. She ends up naked and he tells her to come to him. He fingers her to orgasm and when he’s eating her out he takes his pants off and she tells him she doesn’t want sex. While he eats her out he jacks off under the table and cums just from her cumming. She tells him she can help him and he doesn’t wanna tell her that’s already handled. He tells her he’ll be waiting when she’s ready; it’s ok. They start to spend time together and he really likes her. He goes to work and his brother says they’re getting threats from other companies and he knows he needs to cut ties with Elle or else she could be used as collateral. He texts her and says they’re done/ but then she shows up at his door and says he can’t do that. He has to give her a reason. She tells him she would have sucked his dick and she wants him but she wasn’t ready and he can’t believe that’s why she thinks he wants to be done. He tells her that’s not it and she’s too good for him but she tells him she can make her own choices and slaps him. He Carrie’s her into his house and fucks her against the wall and then asks her to stay for cocoa and apologizes for texting her like he did. Afterwards she tells him she just wants to understand why her dad gave everything to him. She asks if he knew her father was dying and he tells her he knew for 12 weeks he was hoping the treatments would work and didn’t want her to see him like that. She cries and says how she wanted to be there for him and she talked to him on the phone and he never told her. She asks if he can tell her stories so he tells her all the stories he can remember her dad telling him about her. She realizes she needs to ask Liam for the money and leave. She already has feelings for him and that’s not right. She’s so conflicted but she needs to get out of this house that makes her keep thinking of her dad. Liam finally caves and reads the letter from Richard. He left it all to him so he could use it to hold over Elle’s head, he says he knows it’s the only way he’ll be able to get through to her and he really thinks they need each other. He doesn’t want her to go through her life lonely like he did and he feels the same way about Liam. He goes to her house and she tries to tell them they need to be done but he tells her he feels something in his heart for her and he’s not giving that up. They have sex and she wants to tell him she loves him but he silenced her with a kiss. We get a chapter in Ian Drachos POV hes pissed at Liam for taking his customers and has someone staking him out. They see he bought a house in the suburbs and that he’s next door with the neighbor girl Elizabeth Turner. He wants them to keep an eye on her and see if she’ll be his weak spot. When Liam gets to the office his brother shows him they were sent a picture of him and Elle together in her house, someone took it through the window. Zac tells him Tyler is keeping an eye on her now. He calls Ian who tells him he hurt him so now he’s hurting him back. He tells Zac he wants Ian dead. She’s excited for her and Liam’s movie date night, she is really excited for buttery popcorn. When he comes home she gets worried because he doesn’t call out to her like he normally does. She senses something is wrong and is worried he wants to have the talk about her leaving for school and what’s going to happen to them. He tells her he wants to stay in and she asks if they can at least go get popcorn and he tells her no and she gets really worried but he comforts her and apologizes and says he just had a long day and of course they can go get popcorn. He notices one of Ian’s men pull in and drags her back into the car as the man starts shooting. He shoots back and gets them out of there and knows he needs to take Elle to his place in the city where it’s safer. She says they need to call the cops and he tells her no cops and she realizes he’s holding a gun and asks why that just happened and he tells her he told her he’s a bad man and those people have a hit put on them. She tells him to stay away from him but he tells her he can’t do that. And he knows everything just changed between them. She’s pissed to be trapped in his house. He comes in and she wants to know who those men are and why they’re after them. He tells her he’s a bookie and sometimes his line of work gets dangerous. She demands the truth about her father. He tells her he came to him needing money to try to get better and Liam gave it to him because he reminded him of his own dad who died when he was young and they bonded from there. She’s pissed and doesn’t believe him and tells him she wishes she never met him. Liam leaves to go kill Stephen the man who shot at him and Elle. He kills him outside his house with a wire, 1 down, 1 to go. He has Zac staying at the house watching Elle to make sure she doesn’t leave. She sneaks out the bedroom window. A man starts chasing her and she drops her phone. She loses the man tho and gets herself a night at a motel 6. She tries calling Liam and his house phone to tell him they’re done but his house phone calls her back and it’s zac. He tells her Ian used her phone to call Liam so he thinks they have her. And he’s basically committing suicide thinking he’s saving her. Zac keeps trying to call Liam but he won’t answer the phone because he thinks Zac just wants to stop him. He has to save her he’s loved her from the moment Richard started telling him about her. Elle steals a car from the hotel to try and get to Liam before he makes it there. She sees him coming through the intersection but he’s not paying attention to her so she crashes the stolen car into him. He pulls her out of the car and he’s just so grateful she’s ok. And while they’re making up they start getting shot at, it’s Ian. She refuses to leave without him. He grabs his gun and gets in her stolen car. He shoots ian on the way out. They ditch the car. He gets her home and they say their I love yous and I’m sorrys. She tells him she was scared being a prisoner and didn’t realize how much danger she was putting herself in running away. He tells her he’s doing being a bookie and doesn’t want her in danger anymore. 2 weeks later they’re leaving to go to college. He’s going to stay with her while she finishes school and he’s going to continue making investments and then they’ll come back to town. He’s happy for that he wants to stay near his family and she wants to stay near Nat and her dads house. 2 years later they have a little boy they named after their fathers Michael Richard Axton. She is a school counselor, they’re married. There’s supposed to be an extended epilogue but I’m having issues getting to it:/ anyways I really loved Elle and Liam even though they weren’t linked to inked at all. I really thought since it was a series the characters would be connected but there weren’t any connections. I loved the bond between Liam and her dad Richard and how Richard played matchmaker in the afterlife. I wanna know why Elle gets shot at and thinks it’s a good idea to run away like duhhhhh. Anyways another good willow winters book with some good spicy scenes. Tempted was a good title for the fact he had been tempted by her from the first time her dad talked about her. And then her dad passed and he was so tempted by her but didn’t want to use her at a moment of weakness. And she was so tempted by him that she thought it best to stay away but she wanted answers on how he knew her dad and why her dad would leave everything to him. And they both fell hostage to the temptation.

Tempted by Willow Winters and Lauren Landish is a well written beautiful romance between Elizabeth and Liam. Elizabeth, a college student, is devastated over her father’s death. Loss in grief, she finds out a total stranger inherited her father’s estate, leaving her with only the family house and no way to pay for school. Liam, a handsome bookie, is the stranger that inherited Elizabeth’s father’s estate. Elizabeth knows nothing about Liam, he knows everything about her. And Liam doesn’t only want to console Elizabeth; he wants to make her his. Ms. Winters and Ms. Landish did an excellent job weaving a thrilling romance novel. The characters, setting, and the plot was excellently crafted. The reader feels every emotion from grief to despair to fear to happiness to love. Five Stars!
I read this because it was the second book in a series after I read the first one and it was free on kindle unlimited. I liked most of the story apart from a bit near the end however I did find it cringy and the girl mainly just cried through the whole book but it was a fast pace book quick to read liked how it was quite short
Liam & Lizzie review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3,5/5) 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (2,5/5) Kort, leest lekker weg.
Spoilers in ***stars***. if you don’t want to know, don’t read them.
Overall: I’m not sure what this book is about. He is a bookie, and was a nice guy to her step-father while he was dying. She shows up for the funeral, and her father left everything to him as a way of getting them together. At some point some problems related to his business crop up or something, but I couldn’t get past 65 percent, so I don’t know what happened.
M: He seems nice. Despite the ‘bad boy’ title of the thing, he doesn’t seem all that bad. Yes he is a bookie, but since he doesn’t do any bookieish type activities, it seems more a title than an actual plot component. Over all he just seems kind. *** He cared for her father while dying, gave him the money for treatment, and now is caring for her. He could have been a nurse, or a gardener, or a surfer and the plot would have been exactly the same.***
F: Good lord, what is wrong with this woman. The answer is EVERYTHING. First, she is not nice or kind. She is a raving lunatic. She cries for the first 50 percent of the book. Seriously. On the rare occasions she is not crying she is angry and hitting him (or calling him names). She is really hard to like. Even once their relationship gets going she is still a huge mess of terrible. After a month of dating, she still cries regularly. And she still gets angry. However, now we have the added benefit of her whining. A lot. She describes herself a full of hormones and insecurities, I have to agree. ***I actually think the characters reactions are rather realistic, if you found out your father had died and left everything to a man you didn’t know, you would assume some sort of fraud. However, in real life you wouldn’t start dating the man in question, so the author has to suspend some of the realism to make this relationship work. She doesn’t, so it really doesn’t. ***
Instalove: Heck if I know, I don’t think she even likes him. He loved her before he met her (which makes since as you can’t really love her after you meet her). Instalust: definitely.
POV: Alternate F/M first person.
Pace: I didn’t finish.
Pursuer: The man pursued. No idea why.
Separation: Not that I read.
Violence/Dark: Not that I read.
OM/OW Drama: Not that I read.
Hot: Not hugely original. Or interesting.
Humor: Nope.
Sadness: Nope.
P.S. I tend to write reviews late at night, there WILL be typos.
Liam Axton is a very wealthy man but it's his friendship with Richard Turner that changes his life for the better. Liam pushed Richard to tell his stepdaughter Elizabeth "Lizzie" Turner the truth. Lizzie can't believe that her stepdad is gone. She wants to turn back time to do it over again. Lizzie doesn't understand how a stranger can get everything from her father. Yet Liam is stunned by this as much as Lizzie. Lizzie is angry with Liam and also with herself. Will Lizzie deny her feelings to Liam? Can Liam stay away from Lizzie? Your answers await you in Tempted.
Another wonderful book by Ms. Winters. The characters and story were flawed, raw, real, gritty, steamy, compelling, complex, honest, and intriguing too. This is the second book Ms. Winters has written with Ms. Landish. They appear to be a writing powerhouse together. I look forward to my next adventure with both of these authors.

TEMPTED by Lauren Landish and Willow Winters
This was a really enjoyable bad boy romance. The storyline was very exciting and entertaining. I loved the characters, who were really charming and sweet. I loved Elle's sass and Liam's dominance, it fitted them well. They suited each other and had great chemistry. However, I just felt we didn't really get enough information on Liam's bad boy image. Aside from bits of information here and there, I just feel more could have been added. Besides that, it was a very enjoyable read.
Plot wise, this really wasn’t there for me. I found it fell into all the expected stereotypes. I even laughed at a few spots that I found were exceptionally unrealistic. But that charm kinda worked on me and I ended up finishing it. The spice was good, but to be honest I could have used more, if I’m reading a book for the spice. Ultimately though, I didn’t have a bad time. So plot wise, it’s probably a 2/5. But I bumped it to a 3/5 - for the decent spice.
These two ladies writing together is epic. I can totally relate to Elizabeth. I had a very similar situation happen to me with my father. And I think that makes for a great book when you can relate to the characters. I floved this book and I highly recommend it. Steam factor 10. Bad boy he is. But a a sexy one. When Elizabeth learned that her step dad passed away, she was heart broken. The hearing of the Will, she found out all her dads assets belong to that bad boy next door, she was in shocked. She didn't know her dad and Liam were lil close and why he gave him all his money and house/property. This story has action ,hot sex scenes , and HEA. Must read!
A good book by two brilliant authors. Liam is a bookie and although not entirely legal he does have a heart. He helps a dying customer and promises to look out for his daughter. Lizzie comes home to bury her father but things don't go as planned at the will reading. Liam and Lizzie have a rollercoaster relationship with his competitor coming out for revenge.
This book was really good. Liam was a good swoon-worthy bad boy and I really liked that he didn't put up with Elle giving him a hard time. Elle was an okay character but at times I found her quite whiny. I did like the pairing between the two though.
I had mixed feelings about this one. On the one hand, it was better than the first book in this series, but on the other I was still annoyed with the heroine. She wasn’t as whiny and needy as the last one but she did cry a lot and changed her mind way too many times about Liam. The crying I can get behind because she just lost a family member but the situation with Liam was strange. I’ve never read about a heroine who hated the hero so much as she explicitly described but at the same time had this attraction and need for him. It was definitely a relationship driven by grief. They felt something in each other that took away the pain. As a reader this is very romantic, but as a person living in reality, this can’t be healthy. I can see where you can grieve with someone together but to completely be driven by that void you feel and emotion of loss and filling it with sex and companionship, I have to question something. Is this really love you’re feeling, or is it because you’re trying to fill in your emptiness? It’s like finding a rebound relationship. On top of this, there was so many dramatic moments that fed into a stereotypical romance. You got a damsel in distress, need to save and cheesy one liners built for swooning but it didn’t feel like it was natural. It felt like it was just put in the book and not part of a conversation. Yet, despite my criticism of the book I couldn’t help but like it anyway. The story was good, Liam and Lizzie had a connection and expressed it beautifully. Liam wasn’t as cold hearted as the last guy in this series but I felt like I got to know him more and he wasn’t as closed off. While he wanted to protect Lizzie from the dangers of being with him, he was willing to open his heart up to love and allow it to happen though he wasn’t searching actively for it. What was interesting, was the way both Lizzie and Liam tried to walk away from each other to push the other out. They didn’t want to let each other see the hurt and grief they carried within themselves, Liam for his line of work on top of that. This played with my emotions and had me feeling many things. I think because this happened and mixed with all the high intensity that I found myself giving this book a 4. My complaints throughout the book didn’t cloud my judgement and warranted a lesser rating because of how I felt reading this but it did effect it partially which is why I settled on a 4. The last book in this series is the one I really wanted to read but I felt obligated to read the first two because I didn’t know if characters would repeat from the other books or not, or if it would revisit past events. I look forward to continuing the last book and hope it surprises me.
This is the 2nd book I've read by these 2 authors together. Our H is Liam and our h is Elle.
Elle's devastated when her stepfather, Richard passes away. She comes back to take care of the funeral and house. At the funeral, she is trying so hard not to break down and then is shocked when she notices a good looking man staring at her. When she goes to the reading of Richard's will, she is even more shocked to see the suited man there also. Shock quickly becomes anger when she learns that Richard left her the house she grew up in and everything else to the man.
Liam is shocked that Richard left him anything in his will. Liam had spent the last 3 months living next door to Richard. They met when Richard came to Liam's business to place a large bet. He wasn't a gambler but was desperate for money to pay for cancer treatment. Liam couldn't take the bet from Richard, so he gave him the money because he reminded him of his own father. Richard gave Liam the rental house next door to his. Liam slowly started moving into the house, almost subconsciously. He would check on Richard and listen to him tell stories about his daughter. Richard didn't want Elle to know what was going on with him. While Liam didn't agree, he went along with Richard's wishes.
When Elle realizes that she has nothing but the house, she is so angry she accuses Liam of taking advantage of Richard. Liam wants to heal Elle but knows that she is too angry to think anything but the worst of him. He offers her a date to get to know him and after some time, Elle agrees. Liam has some men in a rival business that want to get him and decide to put Elle in danger to make it happen.
These 2 authors writing together as a duo has been a great idea. I fell in love with Liam from the very beginning. I related to Elle in the fact that I would have felt the same way. Another great book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Tempted is a unique romance book beginning with a funeral and heartbroken Woman named Elizabeth and a very hot neighbor Liam. The story evolves as the charters get into each other's orbit. Living next door in her dead stepfather's rental, Liam feels like he knows all about Elizabeth and already loves her just from the stories he has heard her father tell. He was there when he took his last breath. Elizabeth is unsure about this man, let alone why he is her neighbor. She is heartbroken over her stepfather's death. The drama really begins when the reading of the will surprises-both characters and leaves them in a more stubborn battle besides just attraction. Elizabeth must now think about what she will do and agree to a date with the mystery neighbor. She just wants to know what and why he is getting more from her stepfathers' death than she is. This book twists and turns as the characters grow closer, eventually putting Elizabeth in danger due to Liam's business. Raging mad, she must decide if she loves him or if due wants nothing to do with him. Can she accept the Bad Boy Next Door? Will he leave being bad for her?
This book was a quick standalone read for me, something to pass the time, and I enjoyed the story, the drama, and the romance. Everyone loves a bad boy, right, even when they look so good. This story is filled with sexual tension, relief, murder, and so many naughty things. The characters weren't well developed, but the reader knew enough to get involved for a standalone book. It didn't really invoke a feeling, but I enjoyed the action if the read anyway. I love how the author evolved an unknown man into a surprise love. I wish we would have had more information on the setting as it made following the action difficult. This romance is perfect for a quick read or just a look at what a bad boy can be. The Authors did a great job of leaving the story with enough to think there may be more to it or another book.
2⭐️ this book was literally so hard to get through. I pushed myself not to DNF it. I think I knew from the first 20 pages that it was going to be bad (& it was) but I’d feel like a failure if I didn’t finish. It was extremely hard for me to maintain my attention in this book and even though it’s very short, it could’ve been over 100 pages shorter! I felt like there was so much reiteration through the entire book “I’m such a prick, I’m such an asshole, I don’t deserve her” blah blah blah. My personal ick included the MMC calling his love interest “this broad”. Idk I just feel like if you actually have feelings for someone, you can describe them better than “this broad”. I also hated the constant back and forth of “I can’t stand him/her & I need him/her” I love a book with genuine angst and despair but this particular book wasn’t written in a way that executed it well. The book moved at an extremely fast pace (time wise) but felt so fucking slow and boring. Like all the events happened within 2 months—Them falling in love and quite literally wanting to die for each other after 60 days? Please be fucking Fr 😭 I have personal beef with the FMC “best friend” Nat telling her that she’s lost her figure (bc her dad died and hasn’t been eating) but also fat shaming her at every chance because she likes her cookies and ate more than 5. Girl FUCK YOU FR 😭 The only thing I liked about this book was the letter written by her father. I thought it was vulnerable and emotional. This is the first book I’ve read by these authors and I’ll never judge an author based on one book. Additionally, this was one of her early books so I have hope that over the years, her writing has gotten better. I look forward to reading a more recent release and will go from there.

Devastating circumstances led Elizabeth’s stepfather Richard to Liam for monetary help. Needing money for his illness was imperative. The two become friends, Richard reminding Liam of his departed Dad. Before Richard passed he told Liam many loving stories about his beautiful daughter which left him curious and wanting to meet her. Coming home from school for her dad’s funeral Liam finally meets Elizabeth. Liam tells no lies, keeps the truth hidden, always gets what he wants, and now he wants Elizabeth!
The authors have mixed reality with fantasy to give readers a compelling plot with fabulous dialogue, breathtaking vivid scene descriptions, suspense, action, life-threatening incidents and family love. I truly loved Liam and Elizabeth together both credible characters and though their romance got off to a bumpy start it is filled with fiery passion and unwavering devotion. A thrilling and a most entertaining read; loved it. If you treasure bad boy romances, this is an excellent book for your library. In the world of bad boy romances, the magic begins with the first thought to paper. {I received an advanced reader copy of this story; I voluntarily did this review}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
