Monsterville, USA #3

Gargoyles Just Want to Have Fun

Rate this book
There’s more to being a gargoyle’s wife than just saying I do.

While struggling to raise my little sister, I suddenly inherit a run-down B&B from a grandmother I didn’t know existed. The only condition to inherit is that I marry and live with my husband for a year.

One problem. I’m not dating, and the only one I want to propose to is the gargoyle I’ve been crushing on for months. When I explain, Goreg offers a marriage of convenience with a quickie divorce at the end. He’s sweet and shy, and with his muscular frame and glorious wings, I’m kind of blown away by his offer even if he does occasionally turn to stone and lurk on the roof.

I’ve got one year to convince Goreg we have a chance at forever. But then his brothers and wolf shifter best friend move in to help fix up the B&B, and it’s one cultural mishap after another. When the year is up, I’ll have to decide. Do I want to be single again or remain a gargoyle’s bride?

Gargoyles Just Want to Have Fun is set in the Monsterville, USA world. Each book is standalone and can be read in any order. Expect romantic hijinks with monsters, heat, and a happily ever after.

“The lawla’s gonna explain evie-thing,” six year olds don't talk like that

Let me start by saying one of my pet peeves is when an author portrays a child WAY YOUNGER then the age supplied. Halle (the sister) is 6, and going to school yet this is what we get

“The lawla’s gonna explain evie-thing,”

“I’s tall. I’s really tall!”

“I’s gonna live with you forever,” she declared. Her little face scrunched. “I wuvs you.”

I mean frick she’s 6! This is like a 2 or 3 year old not a 1st grader! So apparently it’s a bit pet peeve 😅 then there’s Violet and her complete naïveté about no more money worries now that she has a B&B. I just can’t even get into that. The only thing that kept me actually reading the book was the 2 brothers and Storm. Those guys made it entertaining and watching their interactions was amusing. That was the only thing I wanted to read.

Super easy read. Perfect fluff with a hint of spice. Wish we got to read about their “first flight” though

Cute and low angst but it lost a star because the author clearly has never spent time with kids. If you’re going to add a kid to your story you should know how they speak at whatever age you give them. “The lawla’s gonna explain evie-thing” “I’s sitting backward!” “I’s tall. I’s really tall!” no 6 year old speaks that way 😫 I’m just glad she had so few lines because I could see myself stopping out of irritation. Also, it bothered me that nothing was mentioned about Violet letting her family know she was getting married, or what she said to explain the suddenness of it. It felt super unrealistic and unfinished and maybe rushed.

Okay. We're stepping into Monsterville where a freshly relocated human lady needs to find someone to marry so she can claim her inheritance. Which, honestly, could have turned out pretty badly because Violet didn't know many people in town so it's not like she had a huge catalog of suitors to draw from.

Fortunately (for both her AND Goreg), the gargoyle she's been crushing on happened to be in the right place at the right time and soon the two are tying the knot. Unfortunately, there was a lot of cultural things that got glossed over since they basically rushed into the wedding. On the other hand, gargoyles seem pretty secretive, so maybe that stuff would have been glossed over even if they'd been together for a while.

Anywho. Violet and Goreg. She's trying to take care of her family the best way she knows how and he's sort of the black sheep of his family (not necessarily in a bad way, but Goreg definitely doesn't follow the traditional gargoyle path). They get to know one another on the fly and with Goreg's brothers interfering in the way only gargoyle brothers can.

Family, friends, a big house, some questionable serenading, and more than a few steamy kisses. Good stuff!

Violet takes care of her little sister and uncle. Each day is a struggle financially until she found out she had an inheritance of a B&B and some funds but there is a stipulation for her to receive the entire inheritance - she has to marry and stay with her husband for a year. Now, Violet has been crushing on the local gargoyle named Goreg. They marry and each wants the other for life but they don't tell each other of their wish. What happens when they finally admit to each other they want to stay married - a happily ever after.

Violet and Goreg just fit so well that we are in their team from the beginning! I just live Goreg, he is super shy and he is acctualy selfconscious about his body wich is very refreshing for this to happens not only with the FMC but with the MMC. The whole story is super cute and he hás an awesome werewolf Next friend and two super cool brothers that I would love to know more.

I'm pretty sure what made this book bearable and quite entertaining was the antics Goreg's brothers and friend got up to.
The mating calls, lingering around to help fix up the B&B, and explaining to Violet more of gargoyles traditions that Goreg wants her to know. I loved Goreg's awkwardness the night after they got married.

But there was just more that annoyed me and the first was literally in the beginning of the book. While we don't get to see Goreg avoid and go out of his way to not meet Violet, it is explained to use. It just seems like he judged her before he even got to know her and assumed that she wouldn't want anything to do with him because he was a monster even though she was actively going to him at a friends BBQ. My other annoyance was the sister. I'm sorry, but I have two kids and my 4 year old talks better than Violet's sister does in this...and she's suppose to be six and in school.

togetherness

Violet has many things going on. She feels abandoned by the people who are supposed to be there for her. She has no money and moves to a a new area because of a inheritance of a grandmother she didn’t know.

Goreg is a gargoyle who desperately wants to fit into the human world but can’t find his way in. In essence violet helps him with his confidence and self worth.

The issues I have is how rushed everything felt as soon as they were married. I felt we needed to see more of her interaction instead of glossing over it. Sometimes it is the little things that make a story grand.

Gargoyles Just Want To Have Fun (let's be honest, isn't that a tremendous freaking title)! This is the 1st novel in the Monsterville series! I am putting right out front - monster romance with this sweet, light, fun, fluffy with a touch of spicy, type of book series is right up my Reader alley! Reading to clear my brain of its clutters and stresses with my own characters is the type of reader I am most of the time! So take my rating and review as a FAN of this type of story!

GJWTHF is where the almost destitute human Violet and her 6-year-old sister, who live with their elderly uncle because their mother abandoned them, relocate to Monsterville to claim her inheritance from a grandmother that she never met. There's a catch, though! Violet needs to find someone to marry so she can receive her legacy - and she only has two days to do it, AND it must last a year! To be honest, this could have been a disaster because Violet being new in town, doesn't know a lot of people besides her employer, one other friend, and their respective spouses (who, if you have read Ava Ross's books, you have read about these two couples before). Thankfully, when Violet had been at a party for her friend earlier in the year, she had seen Goreg the Gargoyle from afar and had been instantly attracted.

So fortunately for Violet and the very shy Goreg (who was also attracted to Violet at the party and has been of stalking her just a smidgeon since she moved to town), they literally ran into each other when Violet was going to the estate lawyers. This is the first time they have spoken to each other! Because Violet was upset when she discovered the conditions attached to her inheritance, she confessed to him about what was happening. Being the heroic character that he is, Goreg offers to help her with a marriage of convenience and within two days, they are tying the knot at the Justice of the Peace.

One of the things that was fun about this book is that there were a lot of cultural differences that the two of them did not know about; they were two people (of differing races) with a crush/instant attraction to each other, but they didn't know each other. So they get married - meet two of Goreg's traditionally-living brothers after the wedding (Goreg is the only one in his family who could be considered mainstreaming because he lives and works around other creatures and humans), they 'kidnap' her, drop her and Goreg of course flies up and saves her. According to Gargoyle tradition, this is where she and Goreg are to have sex for the first time mid-flight because that's how Gargoyles make babies (no, it doesn't happen). Then the brothers move in with the two of them that night to fix up the B&B that was part of Violet's inheritance. Just the brothers living there with them leads to hilarious times, for instance, when they serenade Goreg and Violet with croaking and groaning to get them into 'the mood' on their wedding night. Another example of hilarity is when Goreg, his brothers, and his hot best friend, who is a wolf shifter/chef (who also decides to stay and help out with the B&B remodelling work for a while), were looking to vanquish the dragon in Violet and Goreg's bedroom! I actually laughed out loud when that happened.

There is only a small amount of angst in this story. Because Violet fears abandonment, Goreg has self-esteem issues, and they are basically strangers; things get slightly rocky between them (and they don't communicate very well together because of their issues). But it's a monster romance, so everything works out with some help from their family and friends!

This cute little monster romance is full of family, friends, steamy kisses and smexy times, and ends with true love and a warm feeling in the cockles of your heart! Great story - recommended read! I will be reading more books in this series!

When Goreg's brother's came to town for the wedding i did not like the way the brothers acted and it was nice to see how protective he was of violet and making sure his brothers stayed away from his mate.. By the end of the book i started to like the brothers a bit because they could see that Goreg was never going to let them near violet in any way apart from her being their sister in-law..

I really liked the strong family relationships and also the strong friendships in this book.. It was nice to see Max & Chastity characters in this book and it was also nice that Gunner & Rylee was in this book too.. I also liked storm's character too so i can't wait to read his book..

I really liked Goreg and Violet's Romance because it was sweet and you could see that they cared about each other a lot.. I am glad that everything worked out and they got a happy ending.. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series..

I was happy when we didnt have the horrible accent from book 2 in this one! I liked the cameos we got as well from some of the other books, it was nice to see the quiet, gentle giant gargoyle get his HEA! We weren't sure what was going to happen with him when he was introduced in the series but happy how his story ended. I am glad the 3rd act break-up/miscommunication was squashed real quick because I am not always a fan of those haha.

I think the gargoyle brothers stole the show though, not going to lie! I loved the 2 of them and how they immediately went to helping out once our FMC showed some hospitality which meant a lot more to the gargoyles. I loved them freaking out over bring offered pizza haha. I loved how they helped out with the grandma's business/b&b, fixing it up so it could have customers. I enjoyed getting to see our FMC love her new family and see her come out of her shell and have a backbone with things too! I will say I was a little frustrated with the internal monologue/some repetitiveness from our MMC, he had some forward steps and then would regress and I am usually fine with that but this happened too much too quickly in this shorter story. I just wanted to shake him and thought it could have been developed/progressed a little better and edited some places that felt like the same feelings I got a chapter before but with different words, if that makes sense.

Narration was good, I felt the humor from some of the side characters, the nervousness and cautiousness from our MMC, the self doubt from our FMC. I loved seeing the love blossom though and seeing them all come together to establish this business and their livelihood and getting all sad when they had to depart made me heart happy. I loved getting to know the next MMC in this one a bit, he also was one of the besties and helped out with the kitchen part of the b&b. And did I mention our FMC's family??!?! They were such a hoot with asking for flying rides (the little sister was done really well) and her elderly family was adorbs and trying to flirt with Grannie from the previous book hahaha. I love the small interconnections.

🖤 “You’re the red, pink, and yellow colors easing across the sky at dawn. The first flower of the spring. The light I’ll always need to guide me through a dark tunnel.”
~~~
Violet’s life has been tough. She’s spent most of her life taking care of her little sister and her elderly uncle and barely making ends meet. Despite all the hardships she’s been through, Violet is one caring, kind, compassionate and hardworking woman. I loved her so, so much!
Goreg has spent months trying to fit in Monsterville, doing his best to show the people he’s not a threat to them. He might appear scary, but beneath his fearsome appearance hides a lonely, sweet and kind heart. Goreg is such a wonderful male and I adored every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Violet and Goreg! They met at Chasity’s birthday party and since then both have been crushing really hard on each other. But neither was willing to act upon their attraction feeling not good enough. But when Violet inherits a Bed & Breakfast that comes with a very specific condition, Goreg offers his help. And what started as an arrangement, soon became something much more. I adored those two together - they were so sweet and adorable and their chemistry was fantastic. And I loved Violet for managing to show Goreg what an amazing and gorgeous male he truly is - a male more than worthy of love. And when those two couldn’t resist the need for one another anymore, the passionate moments they shared were scorching hot! Goreg and Violet were so perfect for each other and I couldn’t get enough of them!
In addition the storyline was fantastic! I just loved that we got to meet so many wonderful characters - Violet’s sister was so adorable and her uncle - so caring and supportive. Even more, Goreg’s brother had me laughing so, so hard! And Storm is the best friend anyone could ever want!
Overall, Gargoyles Just Want to Have Fun is such a light, sweet and fun story, filled with romance, humor and surprises.
I loved it!
Spoilers ahead, RAYOR :P
I love this series in the fact that they are short enough that I can read them before bed (2 hrs) and that they scratch my itch for monster romances. I am disappointed with the series in terms of the relationship building and actual connections between the characters.
There are so many characters that are side referenced and without reading the previous books, you wouldn't know who Chas and Max were - even though Chastity is supposed to be Violet's best friend. There also wasn't a ton of interaction between the supposed best friends, and I felt like that relationship fell through. If my best friend were to get married to someone they had known for like 12 minutes I would have questions and I would absolutely be there to help fix up the Bed and Breakfast that they'd just inherited from a grandmother that they didn't even know existed.
All in all it's a good cute romance with spice enough to satisfy the itch, but in terms of relationship building, between MC's and side characters it's lacking.
I did love the turn around from Goreg hating everything about himself to realizing that his chosen mate adores all of him just the way he is, and that if he were human, like he constantly wishes, he may not have even had a chance with her.
Biggest pet peeve for me was that her 6 year old sister spoke like a toddler. I also hate children in general in books (ew) so the "cute" scenes between the little sister and Goreg didn't fill me with warm fuzzies. It also didn't show much of him bonding with her little sister or her uncle that lived in the home with them.
All in all there is spice and tension and a decent foundation, but falls flat in terms of giving you a lot of back story or true insight to the characters.
Violet et Goreg
Romance monstre : Gargouille et humaine
Autre personnages :
- Storm (loup - meilleur ami de Goreg) et Luna (rencontrer au dernier chapitre)
- Murtik et Escudek (frère de Goreg)
⭐✨
" Les gens qui ont dit que l'argent ne peut pas acheter le bonheur doivent être les riches. Ils nous ont dit cela pour nous permettre de travailler plus dur, d'essayer plus fort, de « nous tirer d'affaire », pendant qu'ils profitaient de leur argent en riant derrière leurs mains. "
📖
Il y a plus à être la femme d'une gargouille que de simplement dire que je le fais.
Tout en luttant pour élever ma petite sœur, j'hérite soudainement d'un B&B délabré d'une grand-mère dont j'ignorais l'existence. La seule condition pour hériter est que je me marie et que je vive avec mon mari pendant un an.
Un problème. Je ne sors pas avec quelqu'un, et la seule à qui je veux proposer est la gargouille pour laquelle j'ai le béguin depuis des mois. Quand je m'explique, Goreg propose un mariage de convenance avec un divorce rapide à la fin. Il est doux et timide, et avec sa silhouette musclée et ses ailes glorieuses, je suis un peu époustouflé par son offre, même s'il se transforme parfois en pierre et se cache sur le toit.
J'ai un an pour convaincre Goreg que nous avons une chance pour toujours. Mais ensuite, ses frères et son meilleur ami le loup changeur emménagent pour aider à réparer le B&B, et c'est une mésaventure culturelle après l'autre. Quand l'année sera finie, je devrai décider. Est-ce que je veux redevenir célibataire ou rester la fiancée d'une gargouille ?
En un libro donde el mundo es un poco diferente, ya que existen criaturas sobrenaturales que merodean por ahí, ya sea en las calles o por las escuelas. Es decir, los monstruos existen y se han civilizado para vivir con los humanos. Esta historia habla de una chica humana y un hombre gárgola, ella siempre está al pendiente de él desde que lo vio en la fiesta de su amiga, a él le gusta pero no está dispuesto a acercarse porque aunque los monstruos son aceptados, aún miran raro a las gárgolas porque se convierten en piedra. Sus caminos se vuelven a cruzar cuando ella recibe un aviso de que su abuela le ha dejado una herencia, solo que para poder acceder a ella tiene que casarse por al menos 1 año y vivir con su esposo en la casa que le deja.
Esta historia me gusto más de lo que esperaba, es muy ligera y rápida de leer, es divertida y aunque es predecible no deja de gustarme, la mayoría de los personajes son muy divertidos y creo que me gustan todo, pero sobre todo los hermanos gárgola. No hay mucho más que decir, la verdad me faltaron plow twist o una trama en la historia, pero era algo que necesitaba leer en el momento ya que estaba entrando en bloqueo lector así que lo agradezco. No se si es este realmente el primer libro de la saga o hay otro, me sale este y otro libro como opción, pero para partir la saga me gusto bastante, ahora veremos si el segundo me convence de leer, aunque el que más me tienta es el tercero.
LO AMEEEE, en serio que me pareció un libro ligero, divertido, rápido de leer, muy bonito y con un balance perfecto de bachata horizontal (O SEA ES MUY BUENOOOO, ADEMÁS DE QUE ES SOBRE EL AMOR ENTRE UNA HUMANA Y UNA GÁRGOLA, amo). Nunca me había leído un libro de este tipo (ojo ya había leído libros de aliens y cambia formas de osos, pero nunca uno de una GÁRGOLA) y me encantó, es decir tenía unas expectativas y las superó, o sea la verdad si pase un buen rato leyéndolo, lo disfrute mucho.
Yo también quiero de esposo una GÁRGOLA, por fa Goreg presentame a tus hermanos Escudek y Murtik (si es con ellos estoy a favor de compartir y no consejos 😋😏), es que superaron mis estándares (solo con el hecho de ser GÁRGOLAS y MILLONARIOS yo me conformo 😌💖).
Goreg y Violet los amo, me hicieron pasar un buen rato mientras los leía, en serio que por historias como la de ustedes sigo creyendo en el amor, espero que tenga muchos bebitos con alas y que se conviertan de piedra 😊🤭 como su papi jijijiji. Y que Halle sea una tía alcahueta y le de gusto en todo, aunque creo que va ser más como una hermana mayor para los babys (ya me lo estoy imaginando y me pone el corazón blandito de tanto amor 😫💗).
The books by Ava Ross just have something that keeps me coming back for more. There is always a lightness to them no matter the subject matter and the characters always have something special. This one is no different.
Voilet and Goreg are not so much star-crossed lovers as longing for each other from afar, neither one believing that the other could see any merit in them, let alone someone to love. They are alike and yet they are not. They are such a lovely pairing and I know this will be one of the books I will read again. Honestly all of Ava's are. Violet has been given a push in the right direction but she has a condition that she has to fulfill, a marriage. She plans for a fake marriage and somehow ends up with Goreg by her side. Oh the irony of the fact that he is the only one she would want to be with and he is, only it's not real. Goreg for his part cannot seem to stay away from Violet, even when he feels that he ought to for her sake. Who would want a huge grotesque like him hanging over them day after day. He cannot be with her yet he cannot bear anyone else to be so there is only one thing to be done.
This book is part of a series of interconnected standalones. You technically don't have to read them in order, but you'll enjoy them more if you do, as you'll get to see some past couples again in subsequent books.
Struggling Violet inherits a B&B, but it comes with a strange condition: she has 48 hours to marry someone and remain married and cohabit with him for 1 year. She has had a crush on a shy gargoyle, Goreg. When she shares the predicament she's in with Goreg, he offers to marry her. She accepts. When his 2 brothers and his best friend move in with them, it's all a bunch of cultural clashes! Will Violet see both her dreams come true? Will she get to keep both the B&B and Goreg forever? Read to find out!
I loved this story! Violet is a strong woman who has struggled a lot to raise her younger sister and is due a break... Goreg is so sweet, and I felt so bad for him feeling so insecure. I loved their interactions, and the way their relationship developed was perfect! The spice was nice too! Goreg's brothers were hilarious, and I can't wait to read Storm's book! Overall, I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves monster romance.
I didn't finish this book. Heroine is left an inheritance by a grandmother she never knew about. The terms of the inheritance are that she must get married within 48 hours of the will being read. She is devastated and crying outside of the lawyer's office.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
A gargoyle who saw her at a party but was too scared to talk to her notices her crying. He invites her to breakfast. She says she'd like to go but can't pay until next payday. He says it's his treat.
She tells him at breakfast. He offers to marry her. She agrees. They get married. His older brothers come to the wedding and perform gargoyle mating traditions. They kidnap the bride, but the hero rescues her. The brothers then follow them to their home and "croak and groan" to stimulate the hero and heroine's sex drive. Heroine is not stimulated but thinks it's nice that that are welcoming her to the family.
Hero sleeps naked and didn't pack pajamas. He can't find anything to wear. Heroine tells him to just sleep naked. Then she asks him to have sex with her.
I was bored. I felt no connection between them.
Fun, sweet,romance!
Goreg is a real sweetheart who has low self esteem. Most humans treat him like a scary monster because his looks are so different from theirs.
One human woman thinks he’s gorgeous, and is hoping to get to know this man, hopefully well.
Rylee’s life is suddenly turned upside down with an inheritance from a grandmother she was told had died years ago. The B&B, plus a large sum of money would make a huge change for her, her Uncle Bub, and little sister Halle!
There’s just one catch…and it’s a doozy!
She has to marry within 48 hours and live with her husband for one year to inherit.
Up steps the gargoyle of her dreams, and his brothers, and his best friend!
Will the two have all their dreams come true, or will their cultural differences be more than they can handle?
Read this fun, sweet and spicy story to find out!
Note: This is definitely meant for mature readers!
There is plenty of explicit sex. I found no triggers, very few blue words, and all of the characters to be delightful!
Guaranteed HEA, no cheating!
My kind of story!
Marriage of convenience into forever
I loved Goreg and Violet’s monster-human, marriage of convenience, double pining, single mom romance. This heartwarming story was fun and spicy with the just the right amount of feelings. Violet is a human woman who works in a cupcake shop and is raising her 6 yo sister, Halle. Violet moved to Monsterville after learning the grandmother she never met left her estate to her. Goreg is a gargoyle who is independently wealthy but also works as an electrician. He almost met Violet at a party but fled rather than see the repulsion he expected from her. When marriage is a requirement to inherit her grandmother’s B&B, Goreg suggests a marriage of convenience with a one year expiration date. They are both harboring secret crushes on each other and both feeling unworthy and to get to their HEA they’ll just need to take some leaps of faith and learn to trust. Despite being short, the story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an interesting storyline. I am loving this series.
Gargoyles Just Want to Have Fun by Ava Ross is another fun story set in Monsterville. This book is sweet and adorable and funny and steamy! It’s just a wonderful quick read!
Violet is struggling to make ends meet, while raising her much younger sister and taking care of an elderly uncle. She inherits, not only a bed and breakfast, but the money to rehab it as well, from a grandmother she never knew. Unfortunately, it comes with a steep stipulation. Gorger is a gargoyle who lacks self-confidence; he cannot possibly imagine anyone would be interested in his “hideous” appearance. While Violet and Goreg are attracted to one another, neither thinks the other could possibly be interested. But, fate, in the form of an inheritance with conditions brings them together.
Ava writes such wonderful characters with so much depth! And her side character (read: Goreg’s brothers) are such a wonderfully hilarious addition.
Good
When Violet learns of an inheritance, she doesn’t expect the strings that come with it. Fortunately the gorgeous gargoyle Goreg comes to her rescue.
Though their marriage is one of convenience, Goreg and Violet both have feelings for each other, but can a human and a gargoyle manage to make a marriage work?
Goreg is a sweet, and rather shy gargoyle. He’s admired Violet from afar for quite a while.
Violet has had a bit of a tough life thus far. She’s worked hard though, and made it work, and Goreg has caught her eye on more than one occasion.
This is another sweet and steamy romance in Monsterville, USA. You’ll see some familiar faces, and meet some new ones (I have to admit I’m hoping Goreg’s family get some stories), but ultimately this is a feel good romance, with a happy ending, and a few steamy scenes.
A quick to read, sweet romance, with a monster hero and a human heroine, recommended for those who enjoy PNR with monster heroes!
Sweet and Steamy Indeed
Violet’s in a bind—she needs to marry with 48 hours if she wants to inherit her grandmother’s B&B and the money to fix it up. The inheritance would mean no more scrimping or sacrificing to make ends meet for her little sister, uncle, and herself, but who would she marry? Just then Goreg literally stops down to her rescue. She’s been interested in him for a while, but he’s always seemed uninterested in her.
Goreg has never seen anyone as beautiful as Violet, but he’s certain anyone as lovely as she could never fall for a gargoyle—he’s hideous in comparison! But when he spies her crying after leaving an attorney’s office, he can’t help but fly down to see if she’s ok. And then he finds himself offering to help her out by marrying her. What has he done?
Silly, sweet, but shallow.
Wasn’t for me.
Would maybe suit a younger reader better…
World building was very shallow, large chunks missing. Questions regarding this portion ignored, or unanswered.
Dialogue was awkward at times, juvenile, and didn’t always match the characters set parameters.
And yes, the 6 year old was ridiculous, particularly when at times the words were appropriate, and at others so badly not.
A younger reader would be less likely to notice or care as much about these issues.
Would instead focus on how sweet the MMC was, the shallow humour of the brothers, the smutty sex, the ‘romance’, achieved in one week. 🙄😂
The MarySue FMC, who is confusingly innocent and knowledgeable, young but mature, [and an unknown number of years].
Yeah, if you’ve got a better reading history and awareness, this isn’t going to pass.. 😉
Violet and Goreg finally get to meet! In the last book, he avoided her, but it isn't long before her fascination with him gets set free. From a marriage of convenience, these two genuinely nice people discover that they might just be perfect for each other, but both think it's only one-sided. I love the way this romance plays out, and the added side characters make the story fuller and more adorable. I enjoyed reading it and wondering if one of them was going to blow it with the secrets they were keeping from each other. I loved this story for so many reasons, but especially because it was the dude with self-esteem issues in this one, which was a sharp contrast to all the other stories like this out in the market!
"I curtsied. “I thank you, kind gargoyle, for taking care of the ferocious beast.”"
Violet is risking everything on the chance a grandmother she never met has left her an inheritance that will change her life for the better.
Goreg is a Gargoyle who tries to fit in with Humans, and the other so-called Monsters who live among the humans. But understanding women may be the biggest challenge of all.
This done in one kindle unlimited book has some delightful laugh out loud scenes, secondary characters that really add to the story and finds its heart in a character with a solid moral compass - she cares for others, treats them fairly, and tries to avoid even accidentally taking advantage of someone, which isn't always easy when dealing with Gargoyles and their traditions.
