Don't Go Knotting My Heart

Rate this book
I’m falling for a wolf shifter, but my past may endanger us both.

I escaped a life of fear for the beautiful mountainous town of Monsterville, where I meet Storm, a gorgeous wolf shifter. His wolfish ways and heady kisses draw me in, and the future he offers, one full of peace and love, makes me long for a life I never thought I’d find.

He invites me to a wolf pack reunion, where things between us only get better. But my past haunts me, and if I don’t flee, they’ll drag me back and lock me up in a place where Storm will never find me.

Don’t Go Knotting My Heart is set in the Monsterville, USA world. Each book is standalone and can be read in any order. Expect romantic hijinks with monsters, heat, and a happily ever after.

Luna and Storm are up and OH MAN. Storm gets so flustered around Luna at first that he basically bolts upon seeing her. Which is a little funny. Also, talking Goreg into taking him to Luna's grooming shop (in his wolf form) so he can be around her is just...Really, Storm? REALLY? Ha!

Anywho. Once Storm got over his lady-love jitters, things started moving in the right direction. Their biggest hurdle? Luna's afraid to tell him her secret and refuses to put him or anyone else in town in danger from her power-hungry brother. Which means it's not all smooth sailing for this couple.

That said, these monsters (and their various humans) aren't afraid to throw down when one of their own is threatened. Which is fortunate because Luna's brother needs someone to stand their ground against him.

A little danger, a lady on the run, found family, wolves, wolves, and more wolves, and a whole lot of together time. *thumbs up*

More like a 2.75 for this one sadly. I found this one of the more boring ones and way less spicy than the others which the spice is the reason why I read these books lol not my fav!

it was alright.

I just didn’t quite like it. I had to force myself to read through it just to finish. it was just slow pace and I found him creepy. The whole grooming thing at the beginning was creepy. It wasn’t cute having his friend take him to her groomers. Him being so tall is so cliche also. When he said he was 6,8 and her 5,5- I rolled my eyes, wow big shocker there that the male is a giant compared to the heroine. Some parts were cute others not so much. I also didn’t like that the shifters magically had clothes shift with them. Like it’s weird I always found that whole thing weird. You’re clothes shouldn’t magically shift with the animal. But like I said it was alright read.

Monsterville is definitely the place to be.
When Luna's troubled past catches up with her, her only thought is to run.
Sexy wolf shifter Storm knows the woman he has secretly been obsessing over is his fated mate.

When Luna and Storm escape to the mountains for a pack get-together, the moon seals their fate.

This is such an amazing series with some undeniable unusual characters. All are quirky and have an amazing sense of humour, and when they find that special someone that completes them. They will do anything to protect them.

🐺 “Why don’t you run, Luna, and find out what happens?”
~~~
Luna moved to Monsterville to get away from her brother. I loved her courage and determination to do everything in her power to escape his clutches time and time again. Even more, Luna is such a wonderful woman - kind, compassionate, feisty, caring and always read to help. I loved her so, so much!
And Storm is one spectacular male! The wolf shifter is fiercely protective, loyal and absolutely gorgeous. Even more, Storm is so thoughtful, patient, resourceful and kind. And he runs his own restaurant. Oh, I just love a male who can cook! I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about this smoking-hot wolf chef!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Luna and Storm! Storm in all his glorious wolf form comes to Luna’s rescue when she falls in the woods while jogging. And from that moment he knows she’s someone special. And I loved the moment they “officially” met afterwards. Those two were so sweet and wonderful together! And their chemistry was fantastic right from the start! I loved the time they spent getting to know one another and during the wolf pack reunion. I really loved how well Luna fit with everyone on that gathering. And when her past caught up to her, I adored Storm for being more than ready to show her there’s another way out than running again. Storm and Luna were so perfect for each other and the passionate moments they shared were so hot… Oh, I was so there for the chasing and all the naughty and knotty delight! After everything Luna went through, she more than deserved to find happiness, love and a home with a gorgeous and absolutely wonderful wolf shifter like Storm!
In addition, the storyline was spectacular! With each new story, I’m falling more and more in love with Monsterville and just wish I could live among such wonderful, welcoming, protective and fun people! The way they all stood for Luna… absolutely loved it! And the wolf pack reunion was such fun! Even more, Rambo could learn a thing or two from Grandma Vi - that old lady is definitely a force to be reckoned with! I’m also really, really curious about a certain new sheriff in town and hope to learn more about him in the future stories.
Overall, Don't Go Knotting My Heart is such a wonderful, sweet and fun story and another magnificent addition to the series! It’s filled with adventure, action, humor, drama, twists, suspense, danger, scorching hot romance and awesome characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every page of it!
I loved how the 2 characters were introduced in this world at the end of previous book haha. You knew something was up! I liked this FMC the best so far out of the other stories, she would be in my friends group with her personality and how strong she is (but is willing to have help once she trusts you). I liked the work she was doing, how amazing she was with animals, the connections she made despite knowing she would have to getup and leave once her family found her.
The story wasn't anything new or different but was done well with his transformations, his saving her, the wood and creatures, the pack coming together to help defend her and her mate. I loved the activities though they did in their pack gathering. SO. DANG. CUTE. I want one of those little figurines haha. I thought that was such an incredible add-on to the storyline, no it didnt progress the plot but it helped cement their relationship and help us learn more about these two and the other characters. Oh and did I mention some cameos from some side characters from previous books! I loved the moon chosen parts of this story too. I was trying to find the gargoyle and wolf story with their mating because they were adorable in this one, but I was having issue finding them. I loved him in book 3 and was happy to see he got his own HEA with such a fierce FMC.
Narration was good, I think this was my favorite so far. I thought they did a great job diving into these characters, the troubled pasts were handled really well. The side characters were a great touch as well (the kid, the suffering family member of the MMC's past love, etc.) I tried not to finish this story in a day haha, that's how engrossed I was in it. Great job, favorite of the bunch so far! Will be getting back to the series in another week, trying to spread them out a little so I don't listen to them all at once haha.
Monsterville, USA series Book 4
Trigger/Content warnings
Tragic background
Family Violence
Storm (mmc, shifter)
Luna (mfc, human)
Luna is on the run from her evil brother, who is trying to sell her into marriage to an equally evil man. Storm has been watching her from a distance, but he finally gets up the nerve to talk to her after helping her while in wolf form. Then her brother finds her. Will she run, or will she stay?
There is a lot of witty banter and well thought out plot in this story, but there were a few typos and plot errors. Unless I'm not up on the latest monster terminology, gorgons were female in Greek mythology. (Medusa was one.) Also, Screaming Woods gets mentioned, but mid-conversation the name is changed to Petrified Woods. That also sets up another book in this series that uses Petrified Woods and changes how things happen. Instead of an accident (like that series says) it was intentional and kidnapping. Others might not have a problem with the change.
I really enjoyed the book, but there were enough issues for me to knock off a star.
I'm sure a re-edit would fix this. This review is written May, 5 of 2024.
*Edit*
Screaming Woods and Petrified Woods are not the same town and that is explained in the next book.
Loved it!
Storm is a wolf shifter who years ago lost a young girl who was his best friend. They both thought they might be fated mates, but she died before they were old enough to find out. He’s been lonely since, and hadn’t found a woman he was drawn to that way.
Luna is fairly new in town, and has opened her own pet grooming and boarding business. She longs to make her home in Monster Town. She finally feels she’s found a place where she fits in, and is making friends she doesn’t want to lose.
Unfortunately, Luna is hiding a secret. She has been on the run for sometime. As soon as she starts to settle in a new place, her secret trouble finds her, and she has to run again.
Storm has found a woman he wants more than anything to have a chance at a lifetime of love with.
He is more than willing to do whatever it takes to have her in his life.
Luna is torn. She longs to be with him, but is terrified she is putting him, her friends, and maybe even the town in danger.
Will she be able to trust in Storm to protect her, or will her fear keep her running?
Read this sweet romance and find out!
Note: This story is meant for mature readers! Plenty of spice, heat, and explicit sex.
What is Luna running from? The love story is sweet, and right away you feel like Luna and Storm belong together. But he’s hung up on a bad experience from long ago, and she’s running away from her evil brother, who I kept thinking would turn out to be some evil demon or shifter, but was surprised when he was revealed in the book to be what he was. I enjoyed the growing relationship between the two main characters and how everyone was so supportive and accepting of Luna, even with her mysterious ways, mainly because her personality was so upbeat and kind and just … like she should have been a Disney princess in another life or something. I liked her right from the start. I mean, what’s not to like about a person who loves animals, right? The story kept me reading well past my bedtime and I love the cast of the Monsterville town. I’m looking forward to reading about more of them in the future!
Wolf Shifter Storm is sweet and cuddly, so it is no surprise Luna can’t resist him! Storm is also very shy. The funniest scene in the book happens when Storm convinces his Buddy Goreg to take him - in wolf form - to Luna for a grooming! As the lucky parent of many dogs who have been groomed over the years, I laughed until I cried! These two were just so sweet! They both felt that instant click of recognition lucky couples feel when they meet THE one. In this case, they were Moon Chosen fated mates. This story took Luna and Storm through all the highest highs and lowest lows as they faced attacks from multiple fronts. Luna’s past is ugly, and Storm is just the strong hero she needs to set her free. Many of my favorite Monsterville and Screaming Woods characters, as well as a bunch of new ones, made an appearance, and they rise to Luna’s defense. This was another fun, quickly read, book by one of my favorite authors! I am always excited to spend time with Ava Ross’ creations!
Don't Go Knotting My Heart - Storm & Luna
Storm is a great guy, a wolf shifter, a chef who owns his own restaurant, a male who has a loving & supportive family & an all-around good guy. Luna is like a lot of the heroines in these "Monster" book series. She's on the run from a bad family, in this case, her mobster brother & his henchmen. She wants to live a normal life, but she's always on the run. She seems too smart not to be able to defeat her brother on her own. That's the rub in this story & one's like it. The women can't stand up for themselves, so they need a big monster male or males to save them & to save the day. Yadda yadda yadda. Too predictable & that was disappointing as these books used to be a quick & fun escape.
The good parts were seeing old friends & their mates, meeting the different packs, family & friends at the reunion, meeting new potential future book characters & the sweet aspects of the story.
I have adored each and every one of these stories from Monsterville and this one is no different. I think it is safe to say that at the moment these are some of my absolute favourites. Why can't I find and move to Monsterville? Those that live there are considered monsters yet they are so much more accepting that anyone else.
Despite everything that has happened to Luna she refuses to be beaten down by it. She is kind and caring, resourceful and focused. She is also intent on living her own life but her past is dark and she is running from the shadows. She chooses Monsterville as her safe haven and it turns out to be possibly more than that. She finally has a chance to be herself and she meets Storm. Unfortunately that darkness is coming for her and having had the sweet she cannot go back nor can she allow it to taint Storm. She just wasn't prepared for Storm though.
"I’ve learned to grab onto what I need most while it’s within my grasp."
Luna is building a new life in Monsterville, away from the hurdles of her past. With a business that cares for pets, she's got a caring personality, and her sense of humor really shines through when things are a little strange.
Storm finds it hard to believe he's getting a second chance at love, he's almost afraid to take the chance, but from the moment he steps up his life gets more and more interesting.
This done in one kindle unlimited book brings in characters from previous stories, with a fabulous sense of community, this is a wonderful story about friendship, chosen family, and the bonds we form.
One of the things I love about this community is how many second tier characters I find myself hoping will get their own stories, from Storm's pack, and friends both.
This was probably my favorite story of them all so far. (currently finishing book 6)
I really enjoyed Storm and Luna's banter and the build up between the two. I loved the short primal scene and how goofy and nervous Storm got around her.
The only downside to me for these books is that there isn't much building in terms of characters. We have this whole battle scene and kidnapping possibility and other than her saying her brother needs her for a marriage alliance and they are "similar" to the mafia there is no real back story. Her brother is just a barely named villian there to drive the plot and nothing more.
I love these book bc they are short enough that I can read them before bed, but they leave so much to be desired in terms of actual plot and relationships.
But I do love me a protective wolfy good boi, so I adored it.
How I loved this story! The books in this series, Monsterville, USA, just keep getting better..I don't know how but they do. I knew I was going to like Storm when I met him in Gargoyles Just Want To Have Fun. The humor and fun in him is just impossible to resist. And Luna, well she takes care of animals, need I say more? Throw in a Villian in her brother Vincent and you have a book with some really great action! Then there is the steaming hot romantic times (have a fan handy). Yep, really good book. Ava's characters are always what I find best about her books. They are people I want to know. I would love to live in Monsterville, such an awesome town. This is another 5 star read from a 1-click writer. LOVED IT!
Monsterville is the place to be where so many monsters and humans have found their fated mates. This story is of Luna who is on the run from her evil brother. He should care for her but instead wants to use her to gain more power. She runs, settles in temporarily in Monsterville and loves it.
Storm is a wolf shifter, a chef and owns his own restaurant. He rescues Luna, after an accident on the hiking trail, but in wolf form. His plan on how to meet her later is a hoot. Their story is so sweet, yet danger lurks and she needs to run.
Ava is a great storyteller and knows how to draw her readers into her world. Her characters are so fun, yet fiercely protective, loving, and strong. With a great plot, twists, danger and seeing old friends again, this all makes for a great read.
This book is part of a series of interconnected standalones. You can technically read it on its own, but in this one particularly, many former couples appear and help our new heros. I would therefore strongly suggest you read the other books in the series before reading Don't Go Knotting My Heart.
I loved this couple! Poor Luna, I was so sad her family is so horrible, but I'm glad she found Storm, who I already loved from Gargoyles Just Want To Have Fun! The relationship gets serious fast, but they're fated, so it's to be expected. I loved getting to know the pack culture at the meeting, and I'm super happy for Goreg's brother to have found his own mate! I recommend this book to any konster romance fan! You'll love it like I do!
The Moon has chosen!!!
I have always believed that the Native Americans had it right when they focused on nature and the cycles of the Sun and Moon.
Between Luna and Storm heated interactions, there is the ever-present crap of family drama named Vincente. But with the love of Storm and the express coming together of Monsterville, Luna learns she is loved, accepted, and protected by all.
Uncle Bub and Granny Vi stole the ending... hilariously. They gotta get a short novella. Please, Ava? And Venom/Vengeance is sweeeet...or hot?
Ava never ceases to amaz me with her creatures, amazing storylines, and the crafty way she brings love to the forefront to conquer any dilemma if we only just "trust" the connection.
HEAs are always guaranteed with Ava!!!
Good
Another quick read in the Monsterville, USA series. This time human Luna falls for wolf shifter Storm- only Luna has danger in her past. Can she still keep the man she’s started to fall for?
Of course these romances are sweet, steamy, and have a happily ever after- but in a town of monsters, you know it won’t all go smoothly!
Fortunately for Luna, Storm is ready to fight for her. We get to see a few cameos from past books in the series, and we also get to meet a few rather intriguing new characters! Top it all off with some comedic moments (I did enjoy Storm’s plan to get to know Luna better), and you have a fun, fast paced romcom that monster lovers and paranormal romance fans will enjoy.
This one just didn't do it for me like the previous three novellas in the series. I honestly didn't care all that much about either of the two leads. There was some potential for angst and drama, but everything just felt as if it had fallen flat.
I'll continue the series because I really enjoyed the first three books in the series, and I'm really intrigued by the premise of the fifth book.
I need a nonstop ticket to Monsterville! I LOVE THIS SERIES! I love this book! I enjoy a diverse gathering of monsters…everyone gets along, finds love and tolerance. I know when I see an Ava Ross book being offered, I download and read it immediately. She always puts out a good product.
Storm is a wolf shifter who has found his mate in a human dog walker Luna. It’s lovely how these two characters mesh together. You also get to see some of the old characters from previous reads and how their lives are progressing. You get an update on them while enjoying the current story. The plot is solid and the characters are well developed. Excellent! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Monsterville stories are the best! Luna is running from her past and lands in Monsterville. She really loves it but knows she can’t stay long. But the Moon has other plans by the name of Storm, a gorgeous wolf shifter. The two quickly become a couple but Luna knows their time together is fleeting. She didn’t count on a town full of shifters and monsters who happen to be great, loyal friends. Her past won’t know what hit it! I loved it. The town, the wonderful characters that live there and of course, the sexy times between Luna and Storm! I received an ARC of this book and I loved it (oh wait, I already said that)
Storm knows his mate right off the bat. He just needs to wolf up and talk to her. After a false start they strike up a friendship. This friendship is threatened by Lunas brother.
Her brother has been after her her whole life. He wants to dominate over his family in the harshest ways possible. She has been running for awhile and wants to just find a safe place to stay. With Storms help she will get more then just a safe place. She could get a family and community. Not to mention a mate for life.
Don’t Go Knotting My Heart by Ava Ross is another wonderfully funny, steamy romance with a HEA. Storm is a wolf shifter who has fallen for a local dog loving human. Luna is that human, who is trying to run/hide from her family. While she has fallen for Storm as well, she doesn’t want her family to harm his. But, in Monsterville, family and friends are everything and Luna finds that, not only is she surrounded, supported and protected, she also has the love she’s craved in her fated mate, Storm.
Luna is running from her family and wants nothing to do with them. She moves to Monsterville in hopes to get a leg up from her family especially her brother. She is out for a run and slips when she hears a sound behind her. But, a wild wolf comes to her rescue. Is it really a wild wolf or a shape shifter? Anyways, the following days after Storm a wolf shifter wants to get to know her better. When he saw her jogging behind him that day in the forest. But, he wasn't sure if she would accept that he is a wolf shifter. But Luna recognized the dog/wolf that she saw in the forest. Storm asks her for a date, Luna wants to but she is wary cause her brother might find her. Will she allow herself happiness? Or will she constantly look over her shoulder looking for signs of her brother? Or will she allow herself to get to know Storm??
La verdad es que iba sin expectativas, no conozco lo que ha hecho esta autora y la verdad siento que hizo falta más desarrollo en la trama.
Entiendo la unión de la manada pero resulta ridículo que pongan a pelear a humanos corrientes contra seres sobrenaturales y que hagan ver a los humanos como superiores e imposibles de derrotar; simplemente patético. Además, cómo vas a arriesgar tu vida por alguien que recién conoces? Creo que hizo falta desarrollar tanto la trama como la relación de los personajes porque todo sucedió muy rápido y es poco creíble .
