As I finish the final book in The Wonderland Chronicles, I find my emotions are so mixed. My heart is shattered in the best of ways, yet I also wish I had never started them so I could go back and reread them again for the first time.
Jute takes us on a roller coaster of emotions. Not only do we get the HEA love story of Gabriel and Alice, but we get beauty, and ugly, of the bdsm lifestyle. Alexis Rey is honest in her story of Alice falling down the rabbit hole. Dealing with the ugly that are often glazed over in other books: subdrop, jealousy, emotions, frenzy, etc. It's honest and real. Those who are in the life can appreciate the reality of it. Alexis also shows the beauty of it all too: the deeper connection of Dom and sub, the freedom of release, the beauty of submission. Jute takes us on the real journey of BDSM. Mistakes and all. As the final book in the series, Jute is exactly what I hope it would be. Difficult to read in some areas and delicious in others. Romantic in the right way, yet sexy and steamy too.
As an ARC reader for this series, I feel so privileged to have walked with Alice through her journey in Wonderland. And also jealous at times. Alexis Rey is truly a talented author. I can't wait to see where she takes us next.
