Seattle Billionaires #3

Billion Dollar Catch

Rate this book
House-sitting a mansion for the summer sounds easy, right? Until my rich, single dad neighbor catches me in a compromising position.
I'd just taken off my bikini top. He's billionaire Ethan Carter, a living legend in the tech world and father to two adorable little girls. Oh, and he's the kind of ruggedly handsome that belongs in a calendar with firefighters and puppies. "Welcome to the neighborhood," he says, grinning.
The catch? He can afford to live here-I can't.
Differences in income and age make anything more unthinkable, not to mention he's coming off a terrible divorce and has no time to himself. We agree we can't be anything more, even as neighborly drinks turn into not-so-neighborly kisses, and kisses turn into... well. Let's just say he finds creative ways for us to use my kitchen counter.
He doesn't know if he's ready to trust again. I don't know if I'm ready to give my heart. But as summer ends, we might not have choice in the matter.

Hi there! I'm Olivia.
I write romance with billionaire heroes (despite never having met one in person). They're strong, ambitious, they don't need love... until they meet the women who change their minds.

I love witty banter, smart heroines, big cities and perfectly tailored suits. You'll find all four in every one of my books! 💜

As much as I enjoyed the previous billion dollar stories, the third one was not a catch for me at all.

The concept was very promising and had potential, but didn’t manage to hold my interest.

Bella, was a sweet young girl, beautiful and polite, but didn’t have something to impress or attract me and never did she warm my heart. I couldn’t connect with her.
Her letter in the opening didn’t sit well with me. I didn’t like her writing style and especially when she ‘played’ the card with the child in her last sentence...
She was house-sitting and Ethan’s house was next to hers, where he lived with his two daughters. After they met a few times, Bella was flirting with him without having knowledge of (or even asking) where his wife was. This action was also not to my liking...

There was no emotional or beautiful connection between the couple and either their relationship or themselves were sparkle-less and flat for me.

This story might have had all the requirements for a lovely and enjoyable read, age gap/single dad with little girls/sour ex wife/little drama/unexpected pregnancy, but unfortunately didn’t work for me.

Regardless, I am looking forward for the next billion dollar character, Liam - Ethan’s brother.

все починалося цікаво, але кінцівка зіпсувала трохи враження, тому зірочку й зняла. бо драма, яку закрутили, мені не сподобалася.

Definitely my least favourite of this series so far. It was well written but I couldn't handle how overly nice Bella was, to the point that I wanted to scream at her to stand up for herself and kick Ethan in the dick like he deserved.

She deserved so much grovel from him and we got none.

I still powered through this book but the chemistry and sex wasn't there like it was for the previous two books. Ethan also didn't have that same dominant charisma that Cole and Nick had. I would have loved to have seen more of him as the powerful business man he apparently was and less of the single dad, crushing on a young woman like a teenager.

DOORMAT HEROINE! I wanna bang my head on the wall for even completing this disaster.. Why did I even go through it? Oh yeah, I know why! Cuz I thought the heroine might get over her despo ways in the end n stand up for herself.. But noooooo.. She didn't.... She is a shame to the book community heroines for even letting the hero walk all over her by being an ass.... She didn't even make him work for an apology.... Such heroines r my biggest pet peeves in romance novels n I just wasted my time going through with this horrendous journey... Never again... Toodles....

After the disappointment of the second book of this series, this third installment was definitely way better!
The author’s writing is really good, it makes you devour the book in one sitting.
Both MCs were very likeable and their connection was palpable from the moment they met.

Although this book has barely any drama, I didn’t think that the white lie Bella told Ethan was that big of a deal. Ethan didn’t had to use it as ammunition to say that she was a fake person in my opinion.

2.5 🌟 let’s get something straight - it wasn’t terrible. the daughters were cute like pretty much in every book i’ve ever read, maria was nice, the ex was a colossal bitch. heros being single fathers? i eat it up every time. the sweet moments like i don’t know the theme of her baking, the treehouse thingy? see what i mean? cute.

but what has (NOT) done it for me was ethan acting like bella had some kind of agenda against him. yes, she was definitely plotting from THE VERY BEGINNING. get a grip you 36 year old CHILD. and the way she wanted to tell him the truth like what 4 or 5 times through the book. maybe if you TRIED TO LISTEN. MAYBE THEN.

„You lied to me, Bella. For weeks.” IT AINT THAT SERIOUS GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

„It’s Bella. She wasn’t who I thought she was.” he’s clearly having a moment THE DRAMATICS

and not his fucking mother going „I never thought I’d have this discussion with you. You’re thirty-six years old!” i was like exactly 🤗 EXACTLY!

„Do you think you can forgive me, Bella?”
„No, because you’re too late. I already have.”
…….if you don’t stand up right now i swear to fucking god

also don’t know if i would trust a man like that who seems to have zero brain cells, the intelligence ability of a rock perhaps, with reading over my intellectual property. what’s he going to help with? absolutely fucking nothing girl sign up for grammarly or something ANYTHING

the half of the star is bella’s reward for having to deal with ethan’s shitty behavior.

⭐⭐½

Had the trappings of a swoon-worthy romance—a billionaire lead, a tantalizing setup, and a protagonist dynamic that promised complexity. But somewhere along the way, its full potential just didn’t surface.

The characters felt likable enough, but their depth didn’t run as deep as I’d hoped. Their journey leaned heavily on tropes, and while there were moments of connection, it lacked that *wow* factor that keeps readers glued. The romantic tension was there but felt more like a gentle ripple when you’re expecting waves.

Pacing was another challenge—it lingered too long in some parts and skimmed over others, giving the story an uneven flow. The climax, while serviceable, didn’t quite deliver the payoff the buildup deserved. The plot twists? A bit predictable for my taste.

That said, Hayle does have a flair for easy, breezy storytelling. For those looking for a light, uncomplicated read with charming vibes and low-stakes drama, this could work as a weekend diversion. But for readers seeking emotional depth or standout originality, this one might feel more like a near-miss.

THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING! I’m obsessed with these series and I can’t put it down and I’m in a binge reading tbh.

When I saw we would get Ethan’s book I got so freaking excited because I had no idea and was so amazing to get to know him and his story. It’s my favorite book of the series tbh. I loved everything about it and Bella so much too. Also can we talk about Toast? The best cat ever. I loved his little sass moments so much.

The entire book was so amazing and Omg Ethan’s mom being in Bella’s side it was everything to be honest.

I loved this book so much and to see Ethan as a father and the little moments he had with his kids and to see Bella joining the family and become apart of it. I can’t even describe how much I love it. I can’t wait to start Liam’s book now. I’m so excited!!!

Also this book served so many good tropes. I’m obsessed I’m afraid.

Kinda disappointing, don’t get me wrong, the main couple was cute but the chemistry was bland and they had this whole build up of the main problem, which was that she was lying, and it ended with her being pregnant? And he accuses her of manipulating him and doing it on purpose. At the end he just says oops sorry and she’s like I already forgave you. Like, ok so that’s it? Like this was an ongoing issue in. The book and that’s it? Idk could barely even finish the end of the book bc I got so bored lol

Let me start off by saying that if you haven’t read any books by Olivia I beg you to do so. Don’t start here. But if you have then you’re in for a treat because like me you’ve been dying to read Ethan Carter’s book. The single dad we were introduced to last book with whole Greenwood Hills gang. This story really brought me to my knees. There were times I cried because it brought me back to when my kids were small. Thinking of the things I’ve lost and will never see again, my sons smile and the way he would hold my hand and depend on me. It tears me apart. Haven and Evie were just little rays of sunshine shining upon the Gods faces on permanent days in fall. I loved how they played off each other, the maturity that Haven would show, how she would try to be tough although she was constantly being disappointed and wounded by the person who birthed her. I refuse to call Lyra a mother. Maria was my girl. I loved that woman. She was tops 100%. Ethan’s mom as well. Olivia put so much effort into her side characters they fit so well. This is another reason why I love her books. All of her characters no matter how minor have a role to play and is a piece of the puzzle that completes the story. She’s a genius like that. Each character offers something to the story, best comic relief, a one two punch to Ethans conscious which quite simply he needs a few times and don’t we all? Now, the main players. Ethan and Bella were just perfect together. Bella was my kind of woman my lord she was my kind of woman. Perfection at it’s finest. She was shy, beautiful, not afraid to support her man, not afraid to show kindness to his girls and be honest about his work even though to some a man of his wealth and power can be very intimidating and intense. She was also very affectionate. I’m the same way. I love to touch and caress. To show my love and appreciation through my fingertips. Sometimes expression is best felt, than spoken. She was instantly at ease and was herself at all times. She had a sense of humor and by gods she could bake! The woman made brownies for the love of the source! 🤤🤤 I’m writing this review and I’m listening to the perfect song that describes Bella. I’m listening to Bolero... starts off subtle, yet steady the whole time and ends so strong, gracefully and beautifully. That, to me is Bella in a nutshell. Their chemistry is off the charts hot. Surface of the ☀️ hot and it remains that way. This book was simply magnificent to me. As soon as they introduced Liam I got a good chuckle because I knew he was next in the batting cage, so to speak. So I’m definitely looking forward to his book. I must beat this horse, pick up this book and all of Olivias books. She is one amazing author and I just love her books. I know
you’ll love this one as well. This book gets 5 radiant stars from me ✨✨✨✨✨ and 2 cosmic stars for added awesomeness 💥💥. This book was just that good.

This book was provided to me as an ARC copy for my honest review.

I'm am pretty disapointed that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I wanted to! Maybe I wasn't the target audience for this? Maybe I couldn't subconciously get over the whole single parent of 2 in a realtionship with someone 10+ younger than them?

Ethan was just straight predictable. Sad, caring and loveable dad with evil, disloyal wife. Enter Bella who's first introduction was to lie to him. I know it was a small lie and she kept trying to clear the air but it was pretty annoying. Thier interactions were cute but it was more like a cozy lifetime movie than a zinger romance that the last 2 books were.

The climax was pretty lackluster. I found myself finishing the book and wondering "that's it?". It just didn't have enough zingers and was pretty domestic.

I kept flipping back and forth between 2 starts and 3 and eventually settled on 2. I didn't like it, it was just ok. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't memorable nor would I particualrly recomend it to other readers. However, I do look forward to the next book! If this was your first intro to this author, I recommend at least attempting reading the first book if this one didn't work for you, it was better.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I really enjoyed Ethan and Bella. Bella is a grad student soon to be engineer. Ethan is a pretty huge deal in the engineering world and raising 2 girls on his own. Over the summer Bella is hired to House sit for a couple who live next door to Ethan. The first day Bella moves in she decides to sunbathe by the pool topless not realizing the neighbor is in the tree (planning how to build a tree house) and able to see her. The next day Bella drops by with brownies. Somehow Bella lies to Ethan letting him believe she's the niece of his neighbors and not just a house sitter. This of course blows up in her face later on. Then they really have a suprise. OH AND Ethan's ex wife is SHIT.

MFC: Bella. Age: 24
MMC: Ethan. Age: 36

Quotes:
📖And later, when I look at my smartwatch and the statistics from my run, it doesn’t surprise me at all that while I didn’t reach my target speed, my heart rate had remained elevated the entire time.
💭 just talking to her elevated his heart rate! Idk but this made me giddy. 🥰

📖Bella’s hand finds its way up to my head and then her fingers are twining in my hair. My eyes flit closed of their own accord. “Damn it,” I murmur. “Sorcery.” How can something so simple feel so good?
💭I can't get enough of Ethan's cute little comments.

📖“Too rough?” I murmur. “No.” The word is whispered. “Do it again.” Smiling, I give her other nipple the same treatment. She arches up, her leg locking behind my hip. The movement brushes right over my hard-as-steel cock. That’s it. I tug off her dress altogether and run my hands over the fair, silky skin on display. I pause when I get to her cotton panties, unbearably sexy in their simplicity. “Do you want me to slow down?” I ask. Bella’s dark hair is spread around her on the pillow, a halo, a crown. “I want you to speed up,” she murmurs. I comply.
💭🤤

📖“Holy fuck,” he mumbles. A tired chuckle spreads through my chest, into him, and he raises his head to give me a glazed look. What? “It felt holy,” I supply, hugging him tighter. Ethan gives me a crooked smile. “Best review I could ask for,” he says. “I’ll put in on Yelp?”
💭when it's so good it's holy!

4.5— Single dad trope is literally one of my favorite tropes so Ethan and Bella were perfect! I really liked their story and how their relationship formed, as well as the scenes with his two daughters!

My only issue is how big of a deal Ethan made a little white lie… like girl you’re 36 years old it does not matter. That was so unnecessary lmao. Also not a fan of pregnancy trope in general, but it was towards the end and he was so sweet to her once they got back together!

I also felt like the ending was perfect!

Fun read. Bella is taking a job as a house sitter in the rich and famous neighborhood. She is getting her Phd.
Ethan is the single dad next store. A billionaire with 2 sweet little girls, 3 and 6 yo. Their is a12 year age difference but he is in tech too. While trying to measure for a tree house he looks over the fence at his neighbors only to see a woman sun bathing topless. OH BOY!

Note- books 1 and 3 in series very good. #2 horrible. On to next one.

I really liked the book but what the hell was the epilogue, the epilogue literally ruined my mood.

It was so rushed and nothing of importance was shown, I always enjoy reading the epilogue but this one was so bad, I cannot say. And I actually enjoyed the whole book from the start.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Oh I just love this series and now we have the story about Ethan, friends to Cole from book 1 and Nick from book 2 . He is one of the nicest genuine guys ever, with two of the most adorable girls ....Haven and Evie. Meeting his next door neighbour is an eye opener...she’s topless!!!! Oh Bella if only you realised your neighbour could see you but that smile of his....so distracting.
An absolutely brilliant story I loved. Two people , so meant to be together but all because of one small white lie, lives are changed forever. You could understand why Ethan keeps his heart guarded but opens up to his cutie daughters. They made me laugh so much. I loved all of it...the slow romance between Ethan and Bella, the cakes, the cookies, the treehouse, the grumpy cat, good friends and oh so much more. Can’t wait to read about Liam next, Ethan’s brother.
