The Right Kind of Confident
What if we stopped placing our confidence in the things of this world--and instead put our trust in the only one who is truly trustworthy?
As you begin to apply each chapter's material, you'll discover
the true meaning of confidence, the difference between negative fear and positive fear, and how to turn the Enemy's tool of fear on its head with strong confidence. Be Who among us isn't plagued with fears, insecurities, and self-doubt?
Popular wisdom says the solution is to simply believe more strongly in ourselves. But award-winning author and speaker Mary A. Kassian explains that the way to combat fear is with more fear--fear of a different kind.
In this follow-up to her popular book The Right Kind of Strong, Kassian again draws on her vast biblical knowledge to show us a better way to navigate life. She compares the Bible's definition of confidence with the world's well-worn self-help formulas and sets us on the right path.
Whether you're seeking more confidence or already feeling full of it, when you lean into a source of confidence that is unchanging, firm, and trustworthy, you'll become more like the bold, courageous woman God created you to be.

This wasn’t a bad read, and there were some excellent points that make it worth reading.
Unfortunately in its readability, it all felt very factual and heady without much practical application or how to live it out the teaching. It boiled down to misplaced confidence in self and other things, a small view of God—all of which are true—so have more confidence in God, but without any really expounding on how to deepen confidence in Jesus.
I will say the last chapter really redeemed itself and offered the practical, heart-work stuff, but I’d have loved to have seen more of that sprinkled through the rest of the book.
I like Mary Kassian and have enjoyed reading her books. This book has a good, positive Biblical message. Refreshing change from the strong woman, tough chick feminist jargon that is currently popular in our culture. But, it wasn’t that deep. Not my favorite of hers. I preferred Conversation Peace and The Right Kind of Strong.
Good message but a bit repetitious. Not as much practical application. A wonderful conversation starter. Written with a lot of eye candy that keeps the reader engaged. Thanks, Mom, for going on the journey with me.
Okay this book surprised me. As someone who gets nerdy about things like psychology and behavior and emotions I have seen MANY a shallow or unhelpful book that boasts a catchy title about “fixing yourself” or “becoming a confident woman”. And I came into this book with that skepticism. However, I don’t think I have encountered a book/article on confidence that stayed so true to Scripture. I loved how each chapter not only used Scripture but explained it and exegeted it well. I also loved her message: it isn’t about erasing fear it’s about what (or who) you choose to trust and that not all fear is a bad thing. Would highly recommend this: it’s an easy read and so needed esp for Gen Z.
Ugh, I just could not. If you're curious what a PhD dissertation on the history and current use of the word fear is, this is the book for you. If that's not what you're looking for, you'll probably struggle just as much as I did to engage with this book and continue on. Admittedly I only got 36% of the way through, but life is too short and good books are too plentiful to continue to read something that I wasn't enjoying or gaining spiritual wisdom from.
This is the third book by Mary Kassin that I have read and I have enjoyed it and have learned from it.
God's confidence is not the world's confidence and she clearly points out the differences and how to obtain the right kind of fear that will give peace and rest.
I pray that God will continue to use this book in me and others who truly want to be confident, God fearing women.
I assign provides a complete look at the topic of fear. She uses good Biblical examples and uses God's Word to draw her principles. The only drawback is that I found some of her writing repetitous. I still recommend it.
