super cute - I'm continuing to love the teacher/coffee shop owner stories especially. so sweet!! the bloom into you universe is adorable and tbh I would keep buying these anthologies for the fluffiness haha.

Another anthology, another chance to spend time with Yuu, Touko, and Saeki before closing the book on everybody for good. What more can you ask for?
Not much, as it turns out. Turning a bunch of manga creators loose in this world was so successful that they did it twice, after all. This is just as strong a second time around - some stories are better than others, but there isn’t a bad one in the batch.
The tone is set by the very first story, where Saeki gets dust in her eye that leads to a hilarious joke of her giving Yuu the bitchiest look imaginable, whereupon Yuu has to help her walk around by taking her hand, which Touko is naturally super put out by.
Most of the stories similarly aim for the comic side of things and are pretty fun. Many of them illustrate that Touko and Yuu are kind of perfect for one another because they’re both enjoyably mischievous when they’re together. They make a great pair.
Yuu’s worries over her height and Touko’s hilarious penalty game to get Yuu to stop calling her senpai are both very fun stories that show them from both sides of a similar coin. Yuu’s sneaky as all get out in both the penalty game chapter and another where the student council plays Werewolf and Yuu shamelessly meta-games the whole thing.
Most everybody gets a chapter to stand out. Even Dojima gets more to do here and poor Maki gets put through the wringer thanks to a chair shortage that’s capped off in brilliant fashion. There is a series of 4-koma shorts featuring Koyomi (4-Koyomi?) that is easily the best thing in the book and is all about being too smart for the room, while reinforcing how fun Yuu’s friends are.
We get some very sweet chapters as well, many of them focused on perennial favourite Saeki, who gets a lovely little monologue chapter plus another one featuring the barista who took Saeki under her wing. The latter chapter ends up having a surprisingly poignant message at the end of it and is really well written.
Obviously this won’t mean much if you haven’t read Bloom Into You, since you won’t get the in-jokes or circumstances that these characters find themselves in. You could still enjoy it, but this is really meant as a treat for fans - especially with the rather sweet Nio Nakatani story that ends the volume.
5 stars - it’s probably a 4 overall, but it’s the last time we’ll see anything new for Bloom Into You and my nostalgia for a series I’ve always loved is more than enough to nudge it just that extra bit higher, one more time.
It was amazing to go back to the world of “Bloom into you”!!!! I missed those guys so so much. This whole series is definitely my comfort read. Although this anthology wasn’t much, it provided me with lots of memories and quality time. To be completely honest I prefer the first book in this duology, but this one was cute too.
I enjoyed the second volume significantly more than the first one, perhaps due to the sense of enclosure these stories carried, which is understandable, considering this volume was created after the main series was completed. Unlike the first anthology, which felt like an interlude, this one served as an epilogue, a final goodbye. It was bittersweet in its perfect form, soft and soothing with subtle dots of lower notes.
I will truly miss these characters, their stories, and the hurricane of overwhelming emotions they evoked within me ♡
It's hard to believe that with this second anthology, Bloom Into You as a fictional world comes to an end. Easily one of my favourite anime series and definitely my favourite manga, Bloom Into You defies the expected tropes of yuri romances and creates strong and likeable characters who, in the case of Yuu and Toukou, have developed relationships.
I have loved all of the manga volumes, the previous anthology, and Saeki Sayaka's side stories as she finds her own way without Touko. Now, with this final anthology volume, the series is finally concluded. Perhaps some of the in-jokes and character development will not hit the mark to those who are not fans, but for fans of the series, this is a final goodbye and another chance to enjoy spending time with these characters in the world Nio Nakatani has created. Everyone basically gets a chance to shine from the three main girls, to Maki and Doujima, and the coffeeshop-owning couple too.
A host of manga artists all offer their own takes and ideas on the characters and there are plenty of good stories and good artwork to go around, including a touching final story by Nio Nakatani to end the series.
For fans of the series, this is a much-welcomed and yet bittersweet end to a lovely series. Perhaps a re-read is in order now?
First things first, the cover of this volume is absolutely GORGEOUS; I must confess the first time I saw it, I got teary. These characters mean a lot to me and seeing them wearing white and bearing flowers reminds me of a wedding scene and that's just too much for my heart. Regarding the volume, we find ourselves again with cute and entertaining little stories that shows our characters in different hilarious situations. The story in which they play Werewolf has the funniest resolution ever! But I also loved seeing Touko and Yuu going on dates, teasing each other, having fun... they truly are such a wholesome couple. The same goes for Miyako and Riko – I think one of the positive aspects of this series is to have a mature sapphic couple. Ending this anthology is bittersweet, but, at the same time, I'm happy because I've enjoyed both volumes and I had the opportunity to meet the characters again. In conclusion, a perfect read for Bloom Into You fans!
There are some stories in here that are 4 star material for sure but overall this collection of stories while fun didn't captivate me as much as I was hoping. I love this series and characters so it was nice and bittersweet to get one more read with them. I did appreciate that almost every character gets some page time. Like I said earlier, there are a handful of chapters that I really liked but I was left feeling a little disappointed.
I loved all the stories and compared to volume 1, the stories felt more in character. I enjoyed reading all the stories and there were many interesting what if's like the werewolf game or koyomi's puzzle game. Also, there was way more focus on touko and yuu instead of sayaka and touko (in the first volume which I appreciated although sayaka and touko are fine)
I really love that with this 2nd anthology volume we got to see more of the minor characters, even if they weren’t directly involved in the chapter. Everything was really cute and quick to read, and I’m still a big fan of this manga series.
Sooooo much better than the first anthology volume. The art is more consistent and the stories feel like they all fit within the world of Bloom Into You unlike the stories in the first one.
Also I feel like I need to up my Goodreads goal because manga kind of feels like cheating.
'Bloom Into You Anthology, vol 2' is another fun collection of short manga, of other authors and artists interpreting the Bloom Into You characters. Like the first, it's for fans who just want a bit more, or who want a slightly different view of things. I'd specifically call out Moke Yuzuhara's 'Her Choice,' where the student council plays Werewolf together, as a really good interpretation of all of their dynamics, and Fuka Sunohara's 'Musical Chairs' where Touko and Yuu construct elaborate rituals to touch each other. And of course, Yodokawa's story 'Six Years Later, Still by Your Side' about the cafe owner/teacher adult couple, and nurturing relationships over time, is great and really captures what I love about that pair.
I have to admit, Bloom Into You is not only one of my most favorite yuri mangas of all time, it's one of my most beloved series out of all the literally thousands of manga I've read. This anthology was truly a love letter to the original series, and having the original mangaka do the last story was really nice. Such a cute peek at our two favorite girls, a couple years after the main series ends. I highly recommend it.
This second volume is a bit better than the first overall. There were more stories that felt canonical without being boring. I also liked more of the art for this one.
