Five minutes and a Frisbee changed her life. Ten years later, it’s about to change again.
Coffee shop owner Lucy Parker has never forgotten the hunky college senior who stole her heart in seconds outside her dorm freshman year. For ten years, she’s wondered why he asked her out, only to stand her up. Recently engaged, she thought she was in love. That is, until she reunites with the new contractor for her coffee shop remodel.
Jack McAllister moved to New Bern to help a friend with a construction project. Escaping his troubles was a serendipitous bonus to the move, but little did he know, all he’d find were different, prettier problems. When he discovers the decade-old grudge he’s held against Lucy Parker stems from a simple mix-up, his whole world shifts. And he’ll do anything for a second chance.
A misunderstanding kept them apart for ten years. The original attraction hasn’t waned, but they soon realize that doesn’t guarantee there won’t be struggles. Are they willing to put their hearts on the line and take another shot at love? And will that love be enough to overcome their differences?
Jamie recently relocated to the beautiful state of Tennessee, where she lives with her husband of 25+ years and their dog, Bella. Their wonderful, brilliant children are all grown up and out of the nest. Jamie now spends her days traveling, gardening, writing, and taking long walks in the park. She loves chocolate, dogs, and sitting on the back porch with a good book.
The 3rd installment in the series was not what I was expecting but turned out great! I enjoy all the characters and even the comedic relief of Nana. I like how each story isn’t perfect love but true love. I’m skeptic when it comes to love at first sight but must admit Jack and Lucy helped win me over just a little. Overall good writing and story flowed. I appreciate how well written it was and all the characters stayed true to what we’ve been shown in the prior books. 4/5 thanks!
I love how Jack and Lucy's meet-cute parallels Sophie and Edward's. That is so sweet. I was sure from very early on what would happen, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of reading their story one iota!!!
This is the third book in a series which can be read in any order. I'm reading them in order; each book is better than the last one! This is closed door. The grandma is hilarious. Enjoy.
Such a great addition to the rest of the series! I can’t wait to finish out the Parker Sister series and see how it all ties together 😊 such a light-hearted series to read after an exhausting day.
