I was so excited to see this book On Amazon., due to the fact Jg was Dipping her toes into a new genre. This book features MF, FF, MM, MFM scenes……… But ask me why this book sat on my kindle for what felt a lifetime, I have no clue, but either way, this was amazing book.
They were group that held each other’s secrets, it was them against everything and everyone else.
Marielle was traveling halfway around the world to a frozen wasteland to marry a aging king who needed a heir to his kingdom.
Marielle just hopes her new husband to be was not as cruel as the uncle who had all but sold her to him, a man she had needed to endure the abuse of for many years after her parents passed
The King, had never been a particularly big or strong man. In fact, he was small for the cold lands. And all through his life, he was prone to illness. Any sickness that worked its way through the kingdom found its way into his system Cyprian was the king’s Personal guard. Loyal to the king he had served since he was barely but a boy fresh from the battlefield
Warwick was now the future Queens personal guard, and Once upon a time ago Fought on the battlefield. Side by side with Cyprian Gwen was the queen’s handmaid, and had trouble keeping her thoughts to herself as she cared for the queen
Florian was one of the king’s advisors. And in my personal opinion, was one of the most Disgusting men ……. The man was Disrespectful to his king and also the queen…. I’m assuming the things that he tried to do were fitting to the time frame of the storyline. Now, since this was a history romance, you got to know that there had to be plenty of politics going on in the background, especially since over the years the king’s health was failing …….. we all know that there is always someone trying to steal the throne
And you also have to realize that since this place was called the winter lands, they had to try to keep warm some how
I hope that you might see how Sweet and steamy this story is. And., I hope that you can enjoy all the dynamics between all the Characters. And all the love interests and how accepting and open the all were of each other
If this cover hasn't convinced you yet 😉 then maybe the content.
What can you expect: * RH historical fantasy. This book features MF, FF, MM, MFM scenes. One of the female characters only has spicy scenes with the heroine. The heroine has spicy scenes with everyone. 🥵 *
Hot damn, this book description it just a warning for some of you who don't like too spicy stories.
For all others, this book is definitely scorching hot, interesting and entertaining must-read page-turner romance.
The main heroine is a beautiful young woman who's meant to be the next queen of the winter land. She doesn't know her future husband, the king of the kingdom. She's sent to a foreign country to marry him. In these dark times, a woman is just like a cattle that can be sold to gain power and alliance from other kingdoms and has no choice but to follow the order from men in their lives. For Marielle, it's the king of her country and her uncle, who's a very cruel man.
What she doesn't expect is that her new home is in a friendly country, with people who will do anything to make her life comfortable. What she doesn't know from the experiences she's had in her life so far. Perhaps more pleasant experiences than she could ever imagine in her most wildest dreams 😉
So yes, I love this entertaining and exciting story. The erotic factor is over the top hot 🔥 🥵 and no, I'll not describe more than that 😉 😜
Read it, preferably alone, and enjoy the exciting story. There's nothing more annoying than your family, midway through one of the hottest scenes, asking for something 🤣🤣🤣
So, I didn't realize J. Gala is another penname for Jessica Gadziala before I read this one. Should've.
As for the book, yeahhh... initial premise did draw me in. Then, idk why but for me, it kinda fizzled out. Maybe because I thought this book would follow your traditional plotline for a poly book. But I found myself skimming it a lot in the end there.
Just a pretty much straightforward smut for you guys. (just not that umm stimulating for me)
This is Jessica Gadzialas second historical royalty whychoose book and I think its a definite improvement. The harem in this one was much more balanced. It still has a very novella-ish feel and isn’t as detailed or plot rich as some of her MC books though. It’s 200-ish pages which is not long enough for a well developed full length RH IMO. I’m a little bit confused about the point of these short little RHs she’s writing. They aren’t detailed enough to be considered erotica or smut really nor is there enough relationship development or plot f development for them to be considered romance novels, they don’t leave the reader super satisfied. I still commend her for trying new genres. I believe this is her first book to feature F/F.
This book was lacking those j/p moments from the men for me. There wasn’t any angst, or drama, or anything real excited. The h is super innocent and virginal, she’s cute and sweet so that was a plus. All she wants out of life is dogs, books, and orgasms. Pft to being a queen with all those gowns and jewels, she’s all about the simple life 🙄 as she gobbles up her harem. 😂 It was fun though.
Thank you J Gala for introducing me to the world of historical reverse harems!! I love the dynamic of this harem and how everyone cares for Mari. I also love the fact that their are several different relationships involved! We get MF, MM, MMF, and FF!!
An enjoyable and fairly safe why choose romance. Featuring FF/FM/FMM/MM steamy scenes. The old king can not create an heir, and so asks his guard to bed the new queen. CW for homophobia, assault.
Zero hold back. This is boiling hot, almost immediately. This was my first ever RH involving a FF/MM/Mmf.. wow. Wow. Have a glass of milk close because this is spicy!!
I love this quick rh read. It was sweet and spicy. Had great characters and a fantastic epilogue. I just wish it were a longer more fleshed out story with more world building and such.
I haven't read a historical romance in years, and this one was so much fun! This is what I would call a historically flavored romance, as there's no actual historical truth anywhere which is a significant deviation from what I typically read. See also "Why Choose" more recently called reverse harem, changed out out of a desire to be more culturally sensitive, and not something I generally read. I think this might be my second one ever.
Anywho, Marielle is the Queen and she was pretty much sold from her uncle (the King in her land - a much warmer, spring time place) to the King of the Winter Kingdom who, after two former wives and well into his old age, still needs an heir.
She is escorted to her new kingdom by Warwick, her personal guard, who manages to get her safely home even through a snow storm Marielle's not used to and an illness from exposure and being poorly dressed.
Once Mari is well again at the castle, she's introduced to a lovely ladies maid - Gwen, and the King's Guard, Cyprian (Cy.) Once the wedding to the King occurs and it is made clear that his former wives probably weren't the reason they couldn't have children (neither was the King probably, but that's part of the mystery and more of what makes this almost a PNR type historical romance, and all for you to figure out!!) Mari is told to set about the task of bearing the King an heir - hopefully before he dies.
And thus a lovely, schmexy time was had by all!! I reall do think J. Gala (Jessica Gadziala's pen name) did an excellent job in portraying M/M relationship, F/F and MFM with a lot more "relationship" than p0rn type schmexy times on the page. As it is the first one I've read by her I'm interested to go back and read The Heir Apparent and see how that one goes, but all in all I really enjoyed a well written, fun book wherein some of the matters could have had issues, but instead were dealt with in a respectful manner where not one individual was made to feel like only a sexual plaything. Thank you for keeping the feelings of romance alive and well in The Winter Queen, I look forward to reading more from J. Gala!
Four out of five stars for J. Gala's The Winter Queen only because I think there were some areas that will definitely get better with time as this writer continues in this genre.
Whatever shall happen to the very horny Winter Queen when her King is just too frail to see to her sexual needs? No worries. There are plenty of men and women serving the Queen, who are all very enthusiastic to fulfill the Queen's needs (as well as the needs of each other). This is a very short, extremely smutty story. This is the one to pick up if you are in the mood for a light read, stock full of raunch. This RH Historical story includes MF, FF, MM, and MFM.
3.5 Fun fantasy romp. As always with this author so well written. All four main characters were well fleshed out. It could have been longer and more detailed in places but my guess is, given how talented this author is, that wasn't what she was going for. While there is threat of assault and some violence, this is definitely lighter in tone than her modern romance work.
read this on wattpad but had to go get a copy too. and leave a review. a hidden gem. and i love that this had ff. i feel like that's not done nearly enough in RH books. 10/10. no notes.
