The novel has been previously published. It has been extended, re-edited, and is offered for your enjoyment by the original author. This book contains elements of the familial discipline relevant to the era in which it's written. If physical punishment offends you, you may not want to purchase this book.
Best-Selling author, Stevie MacFarlane, has been writing in her spare time for more than twenty years. It wasn’t until 2012 that she decided to submit some of her work for publication. Since then she has been nominated for several awards and has frequently hit Amazon’s list of Most Popular Erotic Authors. While most of her stories are on the sweet side, she never fails to add just enough kink and humor to keep her loyal fans clamoring for more. Her alter ego also writes Daddy Dom novels under the pen name of Markie Morelli. Stevie lives in rural upstate New York with her husband. She loves hearing from readers and you can write to her at steviemacfarlane@aol.com
Threads of Time series started off in the present day with Morgan and his wife, Cara, but it isn’t a good marriage. Between the death of Morgan’s brother, and while he was overseas, his parents die in a house fire, Morgan has basically given up on living after being wounded in action. What a shock when Cara approaches him with an offer to travel back in time.
I absolutely was drawn into this story and the characters. Ms. Stevie MacFarlane did an amazing job of taking this reader on a journey back in time to the 1880s in Kansas. As a genealogist, I have always wondered what it was like for my ancestors and Morgan Whittaker will get to experience just that. How will his kinfolks react when Morgan returns? Will they embrace him as the long-lost son who has been gone for so long, fighting under Sheridan during the Indian Wars?
Morgan must remember to be careful with his wording of things that haven’t happened yet. His family takes his changes in stride, with him being missing for so many years, and the unknown, they are grateful to have him home. He must learn how to deal with working a ranch and farm, it isn’t something you can read about and fully embrace the physical labor.
While Morgan was gone, his sweetheart, Lilly, and brother, Mead, have become an item. Everyone is concerned about how he will react, but he is ok. Now, when it comes to Callie Mae, that is a different story. This story is about Morgan and Callie Mae and some hare-brained ideas she has rolled into motion. Like buying and running The Duchess, a saloon, and hiring four girls who aged out of the orphanage.
The story does have angst, action, passion, and power exchange that keep the pages turning. There are scenes of intimacy and discipline. What happens when Morgan interferes with the past? What happens when he sends Mead into the future? Find out in the next book, Broken Threads, releasing February 1, 2023. I know I am looking forward to it.
“I do believe you bring out the worst in that girl,..."
Morgan's life is in a bit of a holding pattern. His marriage is more of a roommate situation, and the joy and spark of life are missing... then his wife reveals what she's been working on, for years, in a top secret project, and offers him a chance to take a leap, and possibly rediscover that missing spark.
This book reaches a satisfying conclusion, but the story isn't over, and I'm eager to find out what happens next.
Here we've seen the power, and strength, of family, as well as reputation and gossip. I started reading this book expecting a story about one couple, and fell in love with a community, particularly with a matriarch who notices what others need most -- even when they say they have everything they need.
Morgan and Callie Mae’s story was definitely full of tangled threads. Between the numerous side characters who we also got POVs from and the many side plots, by the end I was feeling unsatisfied from the tangled mess the author weaved. There was a lot of spanking scenes and none of them were consensual, which okay - accurate for the time period, but still. I was also just generally confused as to what the point was. Why did Morgan need to go back in time? Why did he choose that time period? What happened with the side plot of saving Callie Mae? There was the one scene but it happened so fast and was concluded so effortlessly that it didn’t feel as dire as the characters made it seem at first. It wasn’t awful but I just wished it was developed a bit further.
I couldn't put the book down. A Time travel romance that is given to Cara and Morgan. This is so fun because he has to remember not to tamper with the time line and watch how he speaks when he's in the 1880's. Morgan has to learn to work the farm and the ranch. He sends his brother into the future. Morgan has fallen hard for Cara Mae. There is action, passion, discipline, spankings, drama, and love. What's going to happen since Morgan interfered with the past? I'll have to read the next book to find out what will happen in Broken Threads. Great storyline and characters.

Tangled Threads is a charming and easy-to-read time travel romance about a forceful but well meaning man falling in love with a delightfully spunky woman who keeps him on his toes in a highly entertaining constant battle of wills as he pursues her. Sweet and light with a smidgen of action and suspense, some heat and a heap of dominating men along with a little boundary pushing, this book made for an interesting, entertaining and enjoyable read.
Tangled Threads is a time travel story with lots of domestic discipline. Morgan isn't sure about what will happen, but he wants a new life. He meets Callie Mae and decides that he wants her. I enjoyed the story, but Morgan is definitely a pain in the butt. He fits in quite well with men of this time. The story was fun to read and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an advance copy and this is my honest review.
This story really held my attention. Time travel is not usually my thing, but this had a unique twist that I hadn't read before. I really enjoyed Morgan. It soon comes to light that he was born into the wrong century. He thrives back in time. Callie Mae was great! Such a spitfire and really guarding her heart. Morgan is just the right match for her, even if she does need a little extra convincing. Great read!
This is the fourth book I've read written by Stevie MacFarlane; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the first book in the Threads of Time Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Cara & Morgan; she’s his wife and a Quantum physicist; after he returns home injured from his last tour of duty as a way to help him she offers him a chance to travel back in time.

This was Morgan and Cara’s book. Morgan Whittaker is a shadow of the man he once was. Despite knowing their marriage is over, Cara Whittaker finds it painful and annoying to see what her husband has become. The Quantum physicist offers him a once in a lifetime chance...to travel back in time. An interesting read. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters were lively and appealing, from the obstinate Callie to the stern Morgan. Emma and her sons were great secondary characters and I look forward to reading their stories.
Fun time travel western. Morgan and Callie have a sweet and lighter romance. It does have domestic discipline and a bit of suspense and action. Overall this is a charming and easy to read romance.
