The heroine: Luna - she grew up on a tobacco farm with her parents. Her mother was sick, her father needed help, and she knew she wasn’t enough. She had wanted to go to art school once upon a time but knows now that will never happen. One day when she was out in the fields, she is abducted by aliens. Her father tries to save her but is not able to get near her. She wakes up on an examination table in a room with hundreds of women and girls. She spends the next few years being experimented on in an alien lab.
The Hero: Tordan - he traveled to Targus-4 to integrate himself into the system as part of a mission to rescue a female human. He is heading to scientific and farming facility that is rumored to be experimenting on other species. The scientists think they are beyond the law, and the planet is full of thieves, slavers and more. Tordan can’t just walk in and demand the human female, so he is there to investigate and try to save the human. His people think it is their duty to save all the humans they come across, especially since the destruction of earth.
The Story: Luna was tortured to the point of death, torn apart and somehow, she was turned into a cyborg. She is given new memories that she was always part machine. All she knows is that she works in the fields on Targus-5 and she does whatever she is told by the scientists. When she picks up on a conversation between Tordan and Dar, she interrupts and tells them they can be overheard even though they are using internal coms.
Luna has started to deteriorate. The scientists may soon want to get rid of her because she is not at 100 percent working capacity. Master Enak, the lead scientist AI is planning to capture Tordan and have him impregnate Luna, then use the baby to put his own consciousness into so he can become a live person. He plans on disposing of Luna and the other sentient cyborg and when he is done with Tordan, he will kill him as well. Tordan is tricked by the son of Dar, whom nobody knew existed and sent to Enak.
The story was a good one, though I have to admit, I didn’t like that she was basically torn apart by an alien and then turned into a cyborg. I liked Tordan’s backstory and his friendship with Dar. I also liked how protective he was over Luna, as well as how big he is compared to her small frame. She was a fighter, and I was rooting for her to recover her memories and her fighting spirit.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view and was narrated in dual narration by Emily Sutton-Smith and Tor Thom. Tor Thom is one of my favorite male narrators, especially for alien and paranormal romance because he has an extremely deep, almost supernatural sounding voice that works perfectly for big, strong, muscled aliens and monsters. Emily Sutton-Smith has a pleasant-sounding voice which I also enjoyed quite a bit.

I've finished reading Tordan by Jennifer Julie Miller with KU, an intense alien romance that is not for the faint of heart. Holy shit balls, Luna is just thrashed in her abduction and this story has all the triggers, but I'm not really put off by triggers as long as it's done well, and man does Jennifer weave a story.
I'm here for it. Luna's abduction is brutal and gruesome. Tordan is a sweet Mmc, but damn they are both in a shitty situation. It is not a lighthearted read, but so good. I feel like their romance was cut a little short since their meeting and circumstances were traumatic and forced. We only get a small glimpse of their life after trauma where they can build a relationship, but I know this will be addressed in other books in the series. It's frequently done that other characters get their own POV in other books, and other plots within this universe. I'm excited to read more, I already read book 7 first, so my next book will be book 8. Great storytelling by Jennifer yet again! Trigger warning on abuse, sexual assault, violent abduction, forced mating, mutilation. The mmc is kind and protective, but their circumstances are shitty. This is a romance set in a universe where Earth is destroyed and humans are a rare species, usually only alive by violent traumatic abduction, and saved by their fated mates. I recommend starting with book one DaR and reading the universe unravel book by book. Check out Tordan on KU.

Torn apart and put together again, Luna only remembers bits and pieces of "the before". When she was in another place. . .another life.
Tordan is on a mission to find a missing human on a scientific farming sector after another human swore she saw her so it must be investigated. He secretly hopes to find a female of his own after seeing his best friend with his Earth mate.
She can hear him communicating in her own head and warns him to leave. Of course he doesn't.
The Master with unexpected help, has plans for Luna and Tordan. (he's one sick puppy for real)
My goodness, the twists, the turns in this one will have you like, "WHAAAT" with all the action, passion and jaw dropping surprises guaranteed keep you on your toes for sure.
I really like both of the MC's, she's one STRONG woman but at the same time you don't feel like she's some super woman, her character is so well written. Tordan? He IS in fact, a super male (no spoilers here folks). When he told her, "You have been crafted from my very dreams", SWOON!

Luna was abducted, mutilated n left for dead when the aliens reached their destination, barely holding onto life, her body was retrieved from the waste dump among the other casualties of the tortured n mutilated bodies. Her body was grafted with cybernetic parts, her mind wiped n used as slave labor.
Tordan is DaR's friend n they are searching for a human female on an agricultural planet. He catches sight of her but a fight breaks out n she returns to the compound, but he doesn't see the direction she goes to. But it doesn't matter because he's arrested. The entity that runs mostly everything on the planet gets him to agree to undergo some tests using Luna as his persuasion.
I was so immersed in this story from beginning to end. I cried, laughed n cheered as the story unfolds. Kudos to the author.

Whew! I have followed this series from the beginning and they have all been excellent. But for some reason this one just got my anxiety rolling. I put it down a couple time and then decided to go for it. Boy am I ever glad I did. I really think now after finishing it that it may have been one of the best of them. Ok just a tic below Dar. But WOW! Thank you for this and all the books in the world of Darvarious.

I loved the story
In a time when Earth no longer exists and take small no of women had been abducted long before then, they are rare but also sought after.
So when Torden sees her across a market, the woman he has come to rescue, he sets into motion a chain of events that he never foresaw. They both must endure
but the best part is they all find the one mate the universe has planned for them.

I know we're suppose to read them in order haha but I read 1 then bounced to the first family one, then to RaZ's then the next family one... when I eventually landed on this one. Oh gosh its so... my favorite thing is you can really feel Luna come through in the beginning, then she feels how shes suppose to when her memory gets wiped. The writing protrayed her very well. Then at the end when she gets her memories back you gradually see Luna being Luna again. I thought it was very well done. I also love Tordan. I think I'm a bit bias. He's my favorite of all the guys. He even beat SiN to take first place.

What a great and original read! It is heartbreaking, gruesome, sad, loving, and heart-warming, with some fun moments. Yes, there were some tears.
I like Sci-fi tales because anything goes, and it's not weird. The world that Jennifer has created is full of modern technology, along with AIs that are more than they seem.
The story is told in multiple POV, which makes the story more immersive. There is action, a variety of aliens; some are truly evil, and others are just big teddy bears.

A tender tale of love and triumph over darkness!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
But let me tell you, this one was a haaaarrrdddd listen. When I tell you the torture, abuse and experiments hurt me physically. This is not one where you can say ouch and move on..I physically clutched the parts that were tortured.
It is a great book, but be warned. You may need to steel yourself when reading or listening to this book.
I love how the women are connected by all being on the same ship at different stages of the examination room.
I am looking forward to Hugo's story.

Distracting
I really love these storylines. I love the characters and th e world. But it is in desperate need of editing. To the point that it is distracting from the story. And not just this book but every single one in the series. There are unnecessary periods where there doesn't need to be one. If it wasn't for that that then this would be a perfect five star from me. All of that being said, I'm going to go into the next book.

I loved it!!!!
Ok let me tell you. I enjoyed this book a Lot, Tordan come in all the 5 books and I liked him a lot but his book was sooooo good. Your book are so entertaining and funny and makes one tear up a little. But your unique off all other writers are:
1. You do t forget your other characters and sometimes they have their own chapter. IS SO 😎 COOL.
2. THE PICTURES THAT YOU SHARE WITH THE BOOK. SO COOL TOO.

Intense !
I really enjoyed the series in this book but I gotta tell you, sometimes it's pretty rough getting through some of the absolutely violent scenes. Thank goodness the whole book and the whole series isn't violent , but what there is of it can be hard to read. Once you get through the rough scenes, the HEA is thankfully , well presented and definitely happy. Being that as it may , I will without a doubt, finish this series !

I read this thru KU. It was okay. It's not the best book in the series but not the worst either. I have been getting away from romance but dipped back in this week and I was just, underwhelmed. That may be a "me" problem. It was a fine, fun read but the trauma aspects were both a bit much and but flippantly treated; very...surface level-ish. I don't regret the read but probably won't pick it up again.
Hence, 3 stars.

Horror and love
The introduction to the story was one of the most brutal things I have ever read! Gag! It was like reading a SAW script! I almost didn't continue on! Holy Crow! The rest was of the story was ok as it didn't expand on anything other than her recovery. The evil AI just disappeared from the story after they escaped so no closure there.

Story was compelling, could hardly put it down! But reads like a first draft. Commas and periods don't cost extra!!!! Editors do, and they are well worth it. "Mosses" instead of "Moses" should have been caught during the 2nd draft, editor or no editor. Really not sure if I can stand continuing the series, even though the stories are very good! If they come out in audio, I'll listen to them.

¡Qué maravilla de novela! no la he podido soltar hasta terminarla. Tenemos como protagonista femenina a Luna, quien se había mencionado en varios libros anteriores, pero tangencialmente, debido a que fue una de las primeras víctimas y, ayyyyy, cómo sufrió. Su historia es realmente fuerte.

Wow! This one is something.
The horror of what these two characters go through would shock Freddy Kruger. This is a traumatizing & yet beautiful story of fortitude & strength. The love is pretty good too.

Finally I feel like this book was epic in the Dar universe. Like I’ve been waiting to see Dar’s best friend get his HEA and this book was perfect. It’s dark, twisted and spicy! It picks up were we left off and it just sucks you in to the soul!

This series has some serious violence and mutilation going on. While they all have HEA, I had to pause a few times to gather myself for this one. It wasn’t really over the top, but it definitely gave me pause!!! But I’m enjoying the series! On to the next!

I am really enjoying this series that is so much more than just sex. The characters are wonderful and the twists ant turns are amazing.
