Good Vibes Only: A Relatable RomCom

Rate this book
I consider myself a normal girl. I work, drink obscene amounts of coffee, and have my dog Chanandler Bong and a wonderful apartment. An apartment with a killer view, mind you. But there seems to be one thing about me that isn't normal. I don't have orgasms.

Wait! Let me rephrase that... I do. With a beautiful invention that was originally created to be a back massager, or so they say anyway... but with a guy? Never. According to my research, this isn't uncommon. Seventy-five percent of women don't reach orgasm with sex alone. Can you believe that!?! Seventy-five percent!!! But if you watch TV, read, or use any sort of social media, you would never guess it because there... it's ALWAYS happening. If it's not Samantha Jones having nightly orgasms, it's the newest heroine in my smutty romance novel. Even the virgin on Seinfeld! Everyone but me. Not only that, but every guy promises to be the one to end the dry spell. My last... boyfriend... if you can call him that, swore I would be screaming his name like Christina Aguilera belting out Moulin Rouge. OK... maybe those were my words, but promises were still made. When it came down to it, I was counting the pops in his popcorn ceiling wondering if this is what a cat feels like when it cleans itself. I won't get into the rest of my ghastly experiences, you get the drift, but I want to know when I get my Young Frankenstein falsetto ending.

Now I'm on the ultimate quest to find a man who not only stimulates my mind but my nethers. It can't be that hard, right? I can't be destined to spend the rest of my years with a wand and a prayer. I refuse to believe it's my journey, just like I refuse to believe any more false orgasumessions. Mr. Hits-the-right-spot is out there, and I, Raelynn Erie, will find him!

This book is unlike any other book I’ve read as an adult. There are two endings, meaning you get to choose the guy you want Raelynn (Rae) to end up with. So you can either Cross the line, or Test the waters. I choose test the waters first and then when I finished I went back and read across the line lol. I loved how they both had their own storyline. You met different people and things happened differently depending which one you read and I thought that was really awesome.
I related so much to Rae and there were a few times I wanted to throw some hands because some guys just needed to get some sense knocked into them. Lina is the type of friend I want and Bea is the type of grands everyone needs in their life lol. Overall this book was pretty good and more people need to read it. I laughed, cried a little, and overall enjoyed reading it.

I’d rate this closer to a 3.5. I definitely enjoyed it, and it was a cute, funny RomCom!

This is also my first ARC!

To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to finish this originally. I felt like Raelynn had a lot of bad luck in her dating life, which is completely relatable for many people. Some parts were a little over the top, and there was a lot of cheesiness throughout. However, it was such a light and funny read, and I needed something light!

I also enjoyed how you got to pick the path that Rae takes! It was a cool idea, and I enjoyed the path I picked! I will say, the story moved a little fast, and there wasn’t too much tension which I normally enjoy. I didn’t read the other path, but I am slightly curious, so maybe I will one day!

This book has a lot of good fun, good friendships, found family, and laughter! Definitely a great book if you’re looking for something lighthearted.

Also, as a female, I just wanted to punch some of the male characters at the start of the book!

Thank you to the author for gifting me with this ARC.

2.5 stars

When I first heard about the concept of this book, I knew I had to read it immediately. The idea of a choose-your-own-adventure story for adults enthralled me.

I had a mostly good time with the characters Boksha crafted. I loved the friendship between the main character, Rae, and Lina her best friend. They had awesome chemistry and very sweet moments together. I also enjoyed Rae's clients as well as their stories and settings. The author portrayed how each client had a well-rounded life outside of their status as Rae's patients.

On one hand, I found some parts of the story to be very odd, to say the least. I didn't like the insinuation that Rae and Lina's friendship isn't as meaningful as being in a romantic relationship. Furthermore, the main character had certain thoughts that made me feel slightly uncomfortable. Namely, comments about one of her patient's sagging breasts, being on dating apps making someone ''desperate'' and using ''sex'' to mean penetration. Sagging is a normal part of life and in my opinion, you do not need to be desperate to be on dating apps. When it comes to sex, it's a lot more than just penetration and reducing it to that alienates people who do not have penetrative sex. It centers the involvement of cis-men in the act, something that is not needed.

On the other hand, these issues could be avoided by having sensivity readers and/or diverse beta readers. However, I do understand that it's not always an option for indie authors. For instance, one part of the text seems to refer to the ACAB movement in ways that made me uneasy. Additionally, the choose-your-own-adventure concept isn't executed to my liking. The first and only choice the reader is able to make comes in at almost 40% of the book. As a reader, I would've loved to have more choices throughout the story. For example, being able to choose to not go on certain dates or to certain activities like the medium or Christa's party.

Overall, Rietta Boshka is clearly a very talented author. I was fully invested in Rae's quest to find romance. The relationship between the characters was organic and relatable. I even laughed out loud a few times! I genuinely look forward to watching her writing improve with her next work!

Raelynn has a lot of good things going for her. She has an apartment with an killer view, her dog Chanadler Bong that she absolutely adores, a group of amazing clients turned friends, her best friend Lina who’s there for her always, and a career as a physical therapist that she is amazing at. All is well except for one thing: she has the worst luck with men and the even worst part is that she can’t get O’s from any of them.

This is the journey of her search to a new attitude of following her gut and putting out good vibes in hopes to find Mr. Hits-the-right-spot.

When Rietta labels this book as a relatable RomCom, she is not kidding! I find myself relating to aspects of Raelynn’s life. The way the story is written, you’re able to make a connection with the FMC with real life problems. The slow, thoughtful relationship build showcases the challenges of facing the dating world as a woman.

This book doesn’t have a strong focus on a specific MMC until near the second half of the book where Rietta adds a fun twist of letting you choose a relatable path of your choosing for Raelynn’s future: Cross the Line or Test the Waters

I thought it was such a cute concept to add to the book. I won’t say which ending I picked but I’m happy with the one I chose. It has the super sweet ending I was rooting throughout the book for. I debated whether to read the other ending or not but I chose to stick with the theme of the book to follow my gut and stick through with my choice. Maybe one day if I get curious enough.

If you’re looking for a book filled with love, laughter, and friendship; this is the RomCom for you! Feel the love, have a good laugh, and add a little bit of spice

Good Vibes Only
Rietta Boksha
3.5⭐️

I was so glad to read this ARC! I loved the idea of a “choose your ending” because there are times when the book takes a turn I don’t necessarily agree with or love.

Good Vibes Only started off a little much.. I think I just didn’t totally relate or vibe with Rae. I’m much more reserved and she is super out there and confident lol. The things that kept happening to her were so outrageous.. but when it finally got to the relationships, it was so much better, to me. I do wish that the ending included a lot more details/stories and depth.. because the beginning of the book had that. But when the ending wrapped up, it felt too rushed to me.

With that said, I started to understand Rae better and I liked and enjoyed her so much more. This book also had me laughing out loud several times, which I totally appreciate. I loved the pick your ending (I chose Test the Waters) and I am probably going to go back to read the other one 🙊 because it was a hard decision for me.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is down with the storyline (which is a super important topic to cover, especially with romance readers 🤪). And let me know which ending you choose!

I would like to thank the author for the ARC opportunity in exchange for an honest review.

My actual rating is closer to a 2.5 stars.

This book was definitely the first of its kind for me. The ability to get to choose who our FMC essentially ends up with was honestly so fun. I ended up reading both routes and thought both were equally as fun and had satisfying endings. I think the writing and story overall were done quite well. Rae had so many bad things happen to her that made us feel extremely bad for her yet simultaneously put us in a position to relate. I did find myself laughing quite often as well. I went into this expecting light romantic comedy and it did deliver.

However, I cannot give the book a higher rating because I feel like it should have been a little more scrutinized by sensitivity readers. I personally do not feel comfortable with having someone's skin tone referred to as "chocolate" because I find it incredibly objectifying. I think that there are a plethora of other ways that description could have happened and highly advise it be taken into serious consideration next time.

Overall quick read that I found light and enjoyable, but do think that certain issues needed to have been addressed in the editing process.

Rae is a physical therapist with colorful clients and the worst luck with men. She experiences some seriously awful, hilarious, and embarrassing dates and sleepovers with various men throughout the book. Her physical therapy clients are hoot and bring many laughs and silly moments.

This was a really fun book because the author, Rietta Boksha, lets you pick how Rae's story ends. With two completely different endings.

For fun, I read both endings. Both endings end with a Happy Ever After, but with different guys. In both endings, I found myself constantly wondering what was happening with the guy she wasn't seeing. Both endings have Rae meeting different people and experiencing different things in life.

I quite enjoyed the book. It is different from anything I have ever read, and was a fresh take on happily ever after's.

I was a little nervous starting this book because the content is not what I typically read! Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised and I really did enjoy it. Rae is a loveable character and I absolutely had a blast meeting all of the other people in her life. Her physical therapy clients were fun and exciting, some of them being so "out there", I just had to smile every time they were mentioned. What I wasn't expecting was to be able to choose my own ending when I was halfway through the book. The options were to "Test the Waters" or "Cross the Line" and I chose to "Cross the Line". I just loved how it played out and it ended just like I hoped it would. I of course also read "Test the Waters" which was equally good, but I stand by my original choice of crossing the line.

Thank you so much to Rietta for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I voluntarily received an ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review.

Good Vibes Only centers around Raelynn, a physical therapist who has some hilariously terrible luck when it comes to her dating life.

After setting up the story, this book gives it’s readers the ability to send Raelynn down two separate paths, Cross the Line or Test The Waters. Each path has it’s own individual storyline.
I personally had to read both just because I had to know if I made the right choice originally.
Now I won't tell you which ending was my personal favorite as I don’t want to influence you in any way, but both parts are full of love and friendship and even a little bit of heartbreak. So follow your gut and read the one that calls to you or be like me and read both and decide.
This book will have you laughing out loud more often than not as well as feeling emotional on occasion too. Plus it has some spice, perfect romantic comedy material.

An adult choose-you-own-adventure book? Yes please!!

I absolutely ADORED the first half of the book. I loved Rae and her love for 90’s music and TV. She felt like a real person that I had become friends with and I wanted so badly to see her get the guy.

That being said, I picked one of the two guy choices and the second part of the book felt like a totally different book. The characters weren’t acting the same and it was a little Insta-lovey. But also not? It’s hard to describe but I wasn’t as thrilled with the second part. I plan on going back and choosing the other path so hopefully that will feel more on-character.

4 stars for Rae and the quirky people in her life! I would read more in this universe!

Raelynn, a physical therapist who loves helping others feel better. She also has some terrible luck when it comes to her sex and dating life that’s sadly hilarious. She had me in tears.

This book gives it’s readers the ability to send Raelynn on two separate paths, Cross the Line or Test The Waters. Each path has it’s own individual storyline. This is the first book I’ve read where YOU get to pick the ending.

I started with Cross the line but I also read Test the waters just because I wanted to read each ending of the book. Both parts are amazing, so full of love, heartbreak, and laughter. This book hit all my emotions - laughter | heart ache | swooning. Plus, there’s also some spice mixed in (my favvv).

This book is such a well written RomCom and I’m so glad I read it!

I absolutely loved this book! It was absolutely hilarious building up the story. It was odd getting two different endings and picking which one you wanted (but of course I had to read both).
One ending ended up being more of a romantic story which I loved. And the other was more of a spicy side of the happily ever after. I loved both. However I will say the first ending, the “cross the line” ending- seemed more thought out and written better. The second ending, “test the waters”, seemed a bit rushed and ended more abruptly. Don’t get me wrong though it was still great. But Cross the Line was def my favorite of the two.

I received this book as an ARC to review. I’m giving this book four stars.

At the start, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. The first couple of chapters, I’ll admit, made me not so sure how much I’d like the story. Things just seemed a bit… strange at first. After I got a little further into the book, though, I really started to enjoy it. There’s great humor, some relatability in the story at times, and lots of loveable (and a few hateable) characters.

I really liked the ability for the reader to choose who Rae ends up with. I think that made the story a lot more immersive. Overall, an entertaining read!

Rae is an everyday girl who’s dating life is a lot of bad luck. From bad dates, almost hookups, being ghosted, and horrifying morning afters. But through it all she is able to laugh about it. While she isn’t having an interesting dating life she is a physical therapist with an array of different patients. Some are a little corky.

This book is fun, laughable, and relatable. Rae has an amazing best friend, an adorable dog, and ends up with a cute, silly nickname.

I loved that there are two possible endings to the story; you get to choose. I haven’t encountered this in a book since I was in middle school. I did read both endings; I definitely had my favorite. Each ending does differ in the events so you won't get bored if you read one and then go back and read the other.

This book is a fun twist with 2 endings. You pick your ending. I picked cross the line and I couldn't be happier with my choice! I loved those two so much! Kind of curious about the other ending. Might read it and see which one I like best. But it's a fun romcom that has the MFC going through bad encounters until she crosses a line and finds her HEA. MMC is a motorcycle rider who has the voice of Aaron Lewis and Cobain. These two mesh so well its great and the love story in this love story is sweet. Love heals all. I just wish we got more from these two!

Rae has nothing but bad luck when it comes to her love life, unlike her best friend Lina. After many failed dates and meeting the unexpected(s), Rae has to choose who she's interested in.
This is a choose your path book, which is something I loved as a kid! I went back and read both options, but was happy with my first choice.
I loved this book, but I did find it a bit repetitive. Overall it was an easy and enjoyable read.

I Received and ARC copy of this book and went into blindly.
And i absolutely loved this book! I loved the charters! Rae the spicy, sweet catering physical therapist, Lina her quirky down for anything best friend, Kellen the hot tattooed owner of a distillery, and Isaac the sweet, charming patient! And don’t get me started on Bea the nudest patient ! I loved all the elements and details that went into this book. Also fellow friends Fan here! As soon as i heard the name “chanandler Bong” (the dog) i knew this book would be great. And the best part was that you go to choose the ending! You got to choose which guy she ends up with and of course i read both and they were both sweet endings in their own ways! 10/10 recommend this book! Comes out February 14th :)

Rietta Boksha added something a little different with book letting the reader pick which ending they wanted. Of course if you are anything like me you read both endings to see how it turned out.
It was fun to be on the journey with Raelynn(Rae) and her quest.
Which path will you chose?
Overall it was a cute book.

This book was such an cool concept. After setting up the story you get to decide which direction you want the book to go in and that was one of the most interesting things I’ve ever seen done. I found Rae to be super relatable, Bea killed me, and Lina was the friend we all need.
I personally had to read both endings, I originally chose cross the line, but had to go back and read test the waters as well. I loved them both honestly, but my initial choice might have been my favorite.

I received this book as arc. I am so happy to say it didn’t disappoint. And honestly this was unlike any other book I’ve read. I will say why later in a post so that way I don’t give away a fun twist in the book. I will say Rae is fun and has a lot of amazing qualities. But what’s most relatable is her insecurities. It was a great read!!!

This book is funny, relatable, sweet, extra spicy & witty. And bonus-it has 2 endings to choose from. I think this idea is brilliant when it comes to picking one guy over another-it totally covers the what ifs.

Raelynn aka Rae has a comical dating life. From trying dating apps to meeting men the old fashioned way, this poor girl just can’t catch a break! But she has managed to create an incredible career for herself, loves her dog, has an amazing best friend & has clients that she considers family.

Thanks to some very strange encounters she finds multiple romances in odd places. She ends up finding exactly what she’s looking for and you just can’t help but be happy for her. 🥰

I got this book as an ARC for an honest review. Review may contain spoilers. More 3.5⭐️'s

What I liked:
I liked that Raylynn was a relatable character that was struggling in her dating life. Rae's profession being a physical therapist is not something I see too often. The banter between Rae with the other characters, particularly Kellan, was fun. I like the confidence she got with Issac. One of the reasons i was supwe excited to read this ARC is the choose your own partner aspect. It's not something I have ever seen done and thought it was very unique! And I liked the nudist part of the book. It added a fun flair to the book that isn't always seen.

What I didn't like/thought needed improvement:
Since it is an ARC copy, I am not sure if all editing has been done but I noticed spelling and grammatical errors throughout. These will likely be fixed by release day but wanted to point it out. I struggled with Issac's back story. I just didn't feel that a guy who felt like he "killed" his girlfriend just a few months prior, would 1. Want to get back on his motorcycle so soon and 2. Jump back into dating someone that quickly. I could see him wanting to get back on the motorcycle and dating Rae if he wasn't suffering the trauma of feeling that he killed his girlfriend. While we got closure for Issac in Kellan's path. I don't feel like we did in Issac's path. Kellan just disappears but when you read both paths Kellan lives in Rae's building. I just wish there had been more closure than he switched jobs and wasn't seen again.

I would love to see more books with this idea! I really think it would be awesome to be able to pick with different couples!

RomCom is not my normal book choice, but I LOVED this book. I fell in love with Rea and all the ups and downs she goes through. I l9ve that this is choose your romance and you can pic the guy you want her with and choose to continue the story with a HEA with him. This is a must read.

A chill and fun lighthearted romcom that will brighten up your day!

I was provided with an eARC of this book and thought that it was a little rocky at the start, but overall a solid read that I had a good time with. I ended up really liking Rea and thought she was very relatable. I also super enjoyed the ability to choose who Rea end’s up with! I ended up rating this 3.5 stars because I felt the book jumped around a little too much for me. I may have found that I am not super into romcoms, which is nothing against this book.

Good Vibes Only is a story about Raelynn, aka Rae, who is on a journey to enjoy simple pleasures (C) without help, if you catch my drift. ( she goes on a few dates and meets a few suitors along the way. This is where the you choose ending comes in.
I choose the ending with Kellan. Kellan owns a whiskey distillery and just lives life as it comes to him. I personally thought that with his ending, getting to the smutty action should have happened so much sooner than it did which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise Thave no complaints.

This book was so much fun. Rae works as a physical therapist and, through her connections, ends up finding two possible love interests. A choose-your-own-adventure style ending ensues where you choose for her and get the HEA you prefer. I read both and neither disappoints, though I do have a preference, personally. She's laugh-out-loud funny, gets into some seriously hysterical situations, and is blatantly outgoing about her expectations. Loved it.

I received this as an ARC and am voluntarily providing a review.

I received this as an ARC and I enjoyed it so much! I think it is pretty neat that the author gives you the option to choose the ending, you get to choose between 2 different ones, 2 different guys that the main character can end up with. It's the first book I've ever read where you get to choose for yourself. I decided to read both and I enjoyed both endings but I did favor one over the other. Overall, it had a great storyline, great characters, parts that make you laugh, some spicy parts and relatable relationship moments. I also love happy endings! I would definitely recommend this book. 🙂

This is the funniest book I’ve read since Jenny McCarthy’s Belly Laughs. I loved the characters and the MCs train wreck of a dating life. I haven’t read a you choose story for years but they used to be some of my favorite books. It was really fun to choose and see what happens and then go back and see how the other part ended.

This books was so unique and so hilarious! I related to the main character Rae so much! I work in Physical Therapy and all of the PT stories were soooo on point! I absolutely loved it! I loved that this is a choose your own path book!! I loved those as a kid and it was fun to choose who Rae should end up with! Of course I read both endings and I’m so torn about whose team I’m on!!! Definitely add this book to your tbr asap!
