Alberto Tomasi and Giovanii Beltrame were...

It is a 56k MM Mafia Romance featuring two lovable childhood sweethearts who love performing classical music as much as they do taking out their family's enemies.

This book is....well written.
but the mess it will leave behind is......heartbreaking.
SPOILERS:
In the end, after going through ALL these moments with these men: the steadfast loyal commitment since childhood, how Gio KNOWS Alberto's mother's family ring will be HIS, the pillows they scattered in university all around to have sex everywhere, seducing the priest to get married, even actually getting married (basically all the angst, tension, joyous moments I experienced vividly as a reader)....... felt all for nothing; all the highs and lows, culminating in visions of a future and hope for them....the get snuffed out, poof, will never happen.
Because this is technically a prequel, and the end takes you to a free BookFunnel bonus epilogue, and you learn they die. Together, as they wanted. But as babes. Barely married a month. And all of it feels like for nothing--maybe not for them, they got to be married (even if Gio in the bonus epilogue was thinking how it wasn't enough time together he wanted them to grow old) and they got to go to the afterlife together, if such a place exists. Since the end had to come, I'm glad they were honored to get to go the way they wanted. Until death. Alberto begged him to save himself, but Gio refused because life without Alberto was not a life at all, and even Ryland of book 3, Gio's brother, understood that and let it happen.
So yes, there's beauty in dying how they wanted and never being separated but....
As a reader, I'm crying as I write this because it breaks my heart. Everything they went through was for nothing, because to me it wasn't enough time. Gio didn't even get that long with the ring he knew was his since he was 5, and all the struggles they went through in this book to be married, not just in the eyes of God and family, but the church state et al, and in the end they didn't get to reap their rewards NEARLY long enough-----and it SHATTERS ME. I never read the other books first, and I probably never will because I can't bear 4 whole books in a world where these two don't exist. Where they were barely married, FINALLY, for a month. Where their pure joy of loving each other and being together no longer lights up the world (like having sex everywhere and annoying their cousins HAHAHA). I'm glad they were horn dogs throughout this entire book, because it makes up for all the years they will never have.
I have no idea why this book doesn't have more reviews and I hope more people find and read it, because it's so fucking beautifully written. This author knows how to write, descriptions and dialogues. Nothing was choppy. The tension, characterization, and insanity of these two for murder, music and each other was on point. you can't help but love these two, who would probably not be called good men if their fans knew who they really were. We got perfect senses of who they were, were shown instead of told. the ONLY reason this has 4 stars not 5 IS BECAUSE IT BROKE MY FUCKING HEART. Not even this book, which was perfect, but the bonus epilogue where they "had" to die, because Green is a monster!
Throughout their book and even in their death they thought of only each other, loved each other completely, and it's fucking beautiful. and excuse me, but FUCK YOU, MJ Green. I say that sincerely, with every sobbing, broken piece of my heart.

I've already read Rough Sketches, Volume 3 of the House of Bolton series, so I already knew Alberto and Giovanni - at least by name, since Until Death takes place before Rough Sketches.
In this book, you learn more about the lives of Gio and Alberto. They live for music, one sings, the other plays an instrument and together they have many gigs. Besides that, they still work for the family, which is involved in criminal activities. I must say, these two are not squeamish and you should not be put off by violence when reading this book.
I liked the author's writing style as the story reads wonderfully. You could feel the bond between the two main characters. What is missing for the two of them to be happy is a wedding, because it is certain that they love each other. But even if the law is on their side, what can they do to persuade the priest to marry them in church? But read for yourself.
There was quite a bit that definitely surprised me. Overall, an entertaining book.

I won't say too much about this story because I don't want to spoil it. It was strangely hopeful....until it wasn't, exactly. Alberto and Giovanni are in love and they want what everyone else in their families have had - marriage at the church where others in their family married by the priest who presides there. The fact that they are both men makes no never mind to them. Love is love. The fact that they are in a dangerous family business could mean that at any time their time will be cut short. But they vow to be together until death. Alberto and Giovanni are a testament to the fact that love is best measured not in time spent together but in the strength of the connection you have to the one you love. I was touched as I read this. You'll see why if you read it as well.

Alberto and Giovanni have loved each other for as long as either can remember. It is almost as if their love is as much a part of themselves as their music. A simple desire to get married where others in the family have married starts something that neither ever saw coming. I won’t say more so not to spoil anything just make sure you have tissues.

This is a prequel/book 5 of the house of Bolton Series. This book contains death, violence, and could offend those with high religious beliefs. It is a M/M romance of two men who fell I love and promised each other til death but death came too soon.
