Brenda K. Davies is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Vampire Awakening Series, Alliance Series, Road to Hell Series, Hell on Earth Series, and historical romantic fiction. She also writes under the pen name, Erica Stevens. When not out with friends and family, she can be found at home with her husband, son, dogs, cat, and horse.
Normally I’ll re read the last book or if I have the time do the whole series but I don’t have a chance to do either But wow it took me half a page to be right back at home with this series and I felt like I was reading this new book like I had re read it all the writing was amazing and the storyline was to die for I really enjoyed this book I actually had trouble putting this book down
Not bad. Not great. Not memorable enough to remember the main characters names by the time I am getting to this review, I’m sorry to say. Just enough quality to keep me reading/listening while I’m getting my chores done.
Listened to the Audible Audiobook. I am only leaving a review here, not on Audible, as I refuse to type out two reviews when Amazon owns both companies and refuses to link Audible to Goodreads.
Every time I pick up one of Davies books from this vampire/savage world, I become consumed and typically read the book in one sitting. Bound by Danger was no different. It was intriguing and fast paced from the start. I love that no matter how much I know Ms. Davies writing formula for these books, I still get surprised with the twist and turns she implants in her style of writing. Not to mention the well rounded characters she implants in her worlds. Even though I knew who the Mates were from the start, Davies character development and writing style kept me wanting more. I truly couldn't get enough of this book, becaus Davies has a way of drawing the reader in and keeping them there until the final word. Afterwhich, I immediately went and pre-ordered the next book.
Bound by Danger is a spin off of the Vampire Awakening world. You don't have to read one series before the other or together to keep up with the storyline. I started with the Awakening series and become obsessed with the world, so when Davies created the Alliance world I hopped right on that savage train as well. Now, I read/consume whichever new addition to these series she puts out first.

Finally it’s Lucian’s turn for a vampire mate and his HEA or is it??? Things never seem to go quite so smoothly in this deadly world with humans, vampires and savages, now we can add demons to the mix and it really looks like the bad guys might be getting the upper hand... But then again the good guys never ever give up even when they start to wonder if they really are good... Lucian is starving, lost and basically just wanting it to all be over... Callie is scared out of her mind, she has been kidnapped and now thrown into a world she is having trouble believing!!! Vampires?? Seriously Vampires!! Callie has no idea if this is real or a crazy dream but considering the pain she is feeling through her body it has to be real right? Then the amazing happens and Callie is saved by a Vampire she thought was going to kill her and life will never be the same again, ever... Lucian has no idea why he didn’t kill Callie he is out of his mind starving but there was something about this woman that made himself stop... So stop he did then he ran, he ran with Callie and now he won’t stop running until she is safe... Talk about a heart-pounding adventure of epic proportions!!
This story starts with Callie, a human, being kidnapped and drug underground to be killed by a starved Lucien. Lucien has been held by the savages since he was caught from the last book. He held the savages off so the other Alliance members could get away. A month has passed, where they’ve starved him. He’s going out of his mind with the need to feed when they set him loose on a bunch of kidnapped women. He immediately goes for Callie, as soon as he tastes her he knows there’s something different. His need to keep her safe runs through him.
He’s able to fight his hunger and get them out, in this process he sees his brother. His brother turned savage just after his transition, he did something terrible. Lucien vows to return and seek vengeance.
Lucien and Callie learn about each other. He reaches out to his friends in the Alliance, they come to help Lucien and Callie.
This book delves deeper into Lucien and Callie’s backstories. These two have to work through some tough situations to get their hea.
Another great addition to this series. Always leaves me excited to see what comes next.
Another addictive read, sure to hook you with ease.
Bound by danger is book six in the Alliance series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would advise you to read the previous five books, simply to understand the story better.
Brenda K Davies sucks the reader in deeper and deeper with the details, ensuring they won’t put it down.
I’ve been looking forward to reading Lucien’s story and suffice to say, it completely blew me away. Callie was a really strong and relatable character. When I say ‘strong’, I mean she had fears but faced them, she had a past but didn’t let it take over. And that is what true strength is: when you have flaws and fears, but you have the courage to try and fight them. We see a completely different side of Lucien in this book and I loved it!
Very eager to learn more about this world and see what Logan’s story brings.
*Spoiler* This book does have triggering content such as violence, death, imprisonment/ kidnapping and mention of domestic abuse.
Lucian is taken although he saves Willow to escape from the influx of Savages. This was the ending from the previous book. This is Lucian’s story as he meets his mate Callie, escapes imprisonments, and gets his retribution on his past. Although each book takes awhile to write and be released for publication, it doesn’t take long for this entire story to revisit itself. That remarkable when you follow the series. I’m glad to see Lucian has a back story to his behavior and learning more about Callie makes her calming his demon more interesting. I mostly liked the humor and the way Callie’s introduction into vampires started. It was different.
Obviously I love this series. It’s one of my favorites. At this point though I almost know what to expect as far as the romances go. I’m really just reading for the underlying story. I want to see what happens with the war between the alliance and the demons and savages.
I’m hardly concerned about the relationship because I know it’s going to happen and it’s going to end mostly well-ish. It’s just not knowing how it’s going to happen and what’s going to put one of their lives in danger.
So I’m excited to see how the war progresses and things get wrapped up. If anything at this point that is what I’m here for.
I always get so excited to read a new Brenda K. Davies book. Her character development is always amazing, and BBD is no different. From page one, Lucien and Callie's story will have you on the edge of your seat. This book is packed with lots of action, vampires, and angst! I love Callie's character, and to watch her fall in love and grow such a loyalty to a man and world she never knew existed - all while memories of a past relationship haunt her. Lucien has found his mate in Callie and protecting her brings up some challenging urges he will battle with. If you haven't read this series, and are looking for an angsty vampire read, then I highly recommend The Alliance Series.
This was a page turner. Action packed from page one. I have become so invested in these characters and their world. Lucien was the strongest among them and to have that strength tested in more ways than one was nail biting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put this book down. It was truly amazing. And Lucien, of course, needed a mate as strong as he is. And what a women Callie was. All she endured and still kept her held held high. What a story! Phew it nearly killed me. And the sword….I cannot wait to find out more about the sword and Willow’s connection to it. I cannot wait for the next story. Bring on Logan.
I absolutely love this series and this book is no exception. I love the dynamics of Lucien finding his mate in that way, though it does make me curious what would happen if someone already really savage were to encounter their mate? Would the bond be powerful enough to save them or are they already lost?
Oh, and I love Callie, she is so sweet and the perfect counterpart for him.
My only reasoning for a lower rating is because I noticed a handful of spelling/grammatical errors and in the epilogue a whole paragraph is duplicated.
Lucian has been one of my favorite characters in this series. I was excited about his story, and I can't tell you how much I love it.
I was able to fall in love with Lucian again. He has a special way of making you swoon. Sallie brought him back and saved his life. She has a deep connection to him where she knows him so intently that his feelings don't need to be express. She knows his actions speak for him.I
I love that we got to see what's going on with the other characters and their mates. This series is addictive and has me hooked. I can't wait for the next story.
Sometimes you can't wait to read the pages and skip to see what happens. Then you return to those skipped pages because you want to see what you missed. That is how I read this book. So exciting who is going to make it. Does the new vamp have powers. I shouted at this book like I was watching a good movie telling the dumb girl to not turn around. I loved this book more than the others and that is saying something. Okay it is a love story but blah blah vamp.gets girl after angst you know the drill but the action is superb.
I'm loving these brooding, old vampires. Maybe I'm back in my vampire era?
This is Lucien and Callie's story and we are thrown right into their not-so-pleasant meet cute. After Lucien went missing I've been so intrigued to see what would become of him as the world develops in each story. Would he entirely turn? Would he be unlived? Would he get a HEA? Thankfully he gets a HEA and I'm so glad he did because I would have been devasted if not.
Callie gets thrown into the underground where Lucien is being kept. He was starved and deprived. All the Savages expect him to completely drain Callie when he gets hooked on her vein, but the complete opposite happens and it gives him the strength to escape. With Callie in tow.
Their forced proximity, and dislike to lovers had me hooked. I loved their back and forth but also how accommodating they were to each other's situations. Their chemistry built and built to the point where they couldn't keep their hands off of each other and I wanted to read more of the spice that happened in the fade to black.
There's so much turbulence with the storyline. The Savages continue to run rampant and cause more trouble in the outside world. I'm dying to see where the next story goes.
Appropriately titled! I mean, spot on! I love that there is no lull or slow build. It grabs you right off the bat.
Callie thought she was getting her life back after a tragic relationship. Little did she know, it was over before it started.
Lucien, starved and desperate for blood for a month, he is thrown into an underground arena, tempted by a handful of human women. Grabbing the first women he was able to, he struck and drank deep. Torn between the starvation and the warnings blaring in his head, will he be able to stop before it’s too late?
The only thing I disliked about this was it ended. I was so excited that he finally found his mate. I can't say much because I don't want to give anything away. This one really keeps you going up and down. You will also learn a lot about Lucien and how he became who he is. I hope the next book isn't too far in the future. I won't say who its about, but, I have been waiting for his story for a long time.
The plot was good and I appreciate that we finally get to know what the sword is capable of. The fighting scene was a 8, not riveting to anything usual - not read before, except for the sword scenes, however actioned packed - better than the last book.
There were some skimming of pages, I prefer if we had a short to the point read - so many repetitive dialogue.
At this stage of series we need to know that is the next step in the war at hand.

I’m loving this series. These books are filled with so much action, romance and suspense I can’t put them down. Hat off to this author. Your books should be made into a movie. They are so well written. If you haven’t started this series I suggest you do. Excellent reading to get my mind off of my everyday thoughts and the troubles of this world. If you like Vampires and action, get these books now.
Loved this sooooo much. couldn't put it down. Ups and downs as with the other story lines in an awesome way. Calli had a past she would rather stay there and Lucian has kept his past just the last until it is pulled into the present for both of them. A great read, awaiting the next.
This book was so much more than I expected. At the end of the last book we learned that Lucien was indeed still alive and had been captured by the enemy. There he found Callie, his mate. Their story started brutal and ended with all the love you could hope for. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
I loved Lucien and Callie's story! Meeting under the most horrendous circumstances Lucien and Callie fight for freedom and a love that's only known by mates. Monsters are not always the paranormal things that go bump in the night, they can also be humans disguising themselves as the good guys. Great characters and a well written story!
Omg, another 5 star from Brenda K Davies! I love how fast Lucien rebounded his mate. This book had me from beginning to end, I did not want to put it down. You never know what was going to happen next. I loved how Callie handled herself with the situation they were in considering she was human. I didn't want it to end.
The cynic ones always fall hard and Lucian was no exception. Danger at every turn and a little more info revealed about the demon makers and the sword as well as appearances by some of your favorite characters. A good book in the series to keep you intrigued for more.
As always this story is amazing! I loved everything about it and things just keep getting intense!! The Savages are getting bold and their numbers are growing! I’m so glad Lucien and Callie met when they did. Granted the way they did isn’t ideal but she saved his life by being his mate! This story just sucked me right in into the Alliance world. I can’t wait for Logan story
Lucian has always been one of my absolute favorite characters. A long saber. I love how we get to see a lot of them throughout this book. I love the fact that when he bit her, the pain exploded in his head. Makes sense right? He can't harm his mate, even if he doesn't know it says me, without hurting himself right? Anyway great book.

I Absolutely love Callie and Lucien so much and it's too bad lucien's brother turned savage and am glad he got what he deserved and happy that callie choose to be with Lucien and I can't wait to read Logan's story next year😍❤❤❤
Action packed read. The battle is always waging. It’s tough when you happen upon your mate at the same time. I was so glad to see Lucien alive. There’s so much brewing below the surface. I can’t wait to read the next book.
