When Kadence has a vision of a cabin in the woods, Saxon and his friends are determined to find it.

He’s beginning to think they’re on a wild goose chase...until he stumbles across the cabin and a horde of savages.

Elyse and her father have spent months imprisoned by savages. Tortured and brutalized, she has no hope of getting out alive. When Saxon arrives, he gives her a chance at freedom; however, he wants to know why the savages imprisoned her, and she can never reveal that.

She tries to keep her distance, but when they are trapped together, it becomes increasingly difficult to resist the growing desire between them.

Desperate to save her father, Elyse realizes Saxon may be the only one who can help her, but if she reveals the truth, will he forgive her...or kill her?

This was a massive let down compared to the previous three books. It almost seems like a different author wrote this as it doesn't have the same style as the previous books imo. I am shocked this book has so many 5 star reviews!

I find Elyse's actions totally unbelievable considering she was held captive for at least 9 months by sadistic vampires and the next vampire who stumbles along, she gets super turned on by and they mutually give in to their lust - acting like a confident seductress.

I just find this whole premise mind-boggling considering she knows her But she can't wait to fuck the new vampire who stumbled upon her prison *rolls eyes*. She just acts so meek and frail in the first few pages of meeting Saxon and all of a sudden they're sharing how many people they've slept with (her, only 7 - him, too many to keep track of 🤮) and they end up fucking within hours of meeting each other!!!

Another thing I disliked about this book is that the narrator for the whole series up until this book was Hollie Jackson (whom I love!) but this fourth book was done by Kate Marcin, and I just don't think she captured the characters as well and the book suffered from the switch in my opinion (sorry!)

It has been a while since my last book by B.K.D…and I think this phase of my reading life is over. I remember years ago when I discovered her 𝒞𝒶𝓅𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒 series under her other pen name and how much I loved them. But time has passed and I think my taste has matured…somehow. I just can’t anymore with these immature characters and lack of logic. Elyse has been kidnapped and suffered terrible things in that cabin where Saxon finds her, she doesn’t know if he’s an enemy but just being a vampire is bad enough, so what does she do? Have the hots for him and start flirting, asking about exes and his sex life. Sorry but, WTF? I got whiplash. So yeah, I think I won’t continue this series.

I do love this series, it has everything you want in a paranormal read. Fast paced engaging storyline, intense alpha males with a vulnerable side, and don't forget the great sexual tension and passion galore! The women in these books are also strong and fight for what they want. Another aspect I appreciate in these books is the main characters find they are stronger together fighting for what they believe in and in themselves.

2nd time reading: I like this series more each time I read it. This one still isn't my favorite but I love the added layers, and this one makes things darker and more complicated for the Alliance.

Original Review: If you liked the first 3 books or even Vampire Awakenings series then this one won't disappoint. Not my favorite in the series but not my least favorite either. I did like the learning more about what is to come and how the war is progressing. I like Saxon and I love how these books seem to pull opposites together but then you can also see the shift in personalities or how they start to relax around their mates, the whole concept is just so heart warming to me.
VERY excited the next book is about Declan, already pre-ordered it, I can't wait!

Not bad. Not great. Just enough quality to keep you reading/listening while you get your chores done.

Listened to the Audible Audiobook. I am only leaving a review here, not on Audible, as I refuse to type out two reviews when Amazon owns both companies and refuses to link Audible to Goodreads.

I’d say skip this book because you’d want to bang your head against the wall from the frustration.

Here’s what you’ll miss:

Elyse is Saxon’s mate and her ability is to locate people via blood absorption through the skin.

She’s the “mole” they were worried about.

They have zero sense of urgency.

Logan becomes a vampire.

What bothered me:

They had zero sense of urgency.

I know there had to be a better way to find the savage’s plans then to forget that you should be on your guard especially when their prize was hidden.

He basically has been starving for more than half the book and he’s still functioning just fine and fighting just fine he still looks amazing and all. Only she is gaunt and exhausted. (Though she still wants to have sex. Sex over sleep and food amirite)

She complains she might be heavy but she says shes at least 100 lbs.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I love this series and I’m reading it in tandem with the Vampire awakenings series, but I have to say I enjoyed this one the least of all. I feel like I didn’t feel their deep love and connection and I felt the FMC was very stubborn and unlikable. But it doesn’t change the fact that I’m moving along in the series. Not every one can be a home run!

I'm so enjoying learning more and more about the Savages and what is going on in this war. I only really had two problems with this book, the first was Elyse not telling Saxon what her ability was sooner, I mean I understand why she didn't want to especially after finding out what it was but it felt like it took so long before she told him what it was. The second problem was Elyse not taking his blood, if she did the whole hospital debacle could have been avoided and I felt that her reasoning for it was a little stupid since by then she knew who she was to Saxon and that he would never let them take her and that he could handle whatever they threw at him. I did love Saxon and how he was with Elyse, considering he was supposed to be a playboy from the previous books, plus he was willing to do anything to make Elyse safe and happy even when it went against what he wanted. I did like Elyse's character but she wasn't my favorite, I felt that she was kinda annoying and wasn't really willing to compromise much with Saxon even when she knew he was having a difficult time with what she wanted. As I stated before I loved that we got more information during this book about what is going on behind the Savages and that they have a little better understanding on what their up against. I did enjoy this book, even if I didn't really like Elyse that much, and I can't wait to read what happens next to the Alliance.

Aggghhhh!!!!!

Sooo I just knew it was going to be Declan and Willow. Don’t know how but I knew it. A long time ago I pegged it. I am soo excited for that next year.

Now Sexon (as I am going to call him from now on) is the perfect gentleman to Elyse. Even with his need to have sex to keep his demon at bay he was nothing but kind and understanding.

Elyse is definitely strong willed and won’t ever give up on herself or saving her father. And for that reason alone I will always consider her a strong woman. She fought for her life and did things they may be considered heinous by she was doing them to protect her father and keep others from being harmed.

I loved everything about their story. I was invested the whole time and loved how the love developed between them. And also how well Elyse took the changes happening in her life.

I love how understanding Simone was and it seemed how understanding Killeen eventually became.

Loving this series

Best suggest reading these in order because the timeline will only cause confusion. Saxon is next on the block to find his mate by Kadence obscure vision of a cabin in the Catskill Mountains. Of course the five guys go out to investigate but Saxon is the one to find the cabin. Elyse Hughes has been kidnapped, coerced, abused and traumatized while in captivity. Expecting to be saved by a vampire when vampires took her is a bitter pill to swallow. However our vampire defenders are being mated with each book written and with this couples happy ever after, the reader is left with something big in the horizon. Next up is Bounded by Torment: Declan our computer genius with his intuition ability who may be mated to Sera & Liam Byrne's daughter, Willow. This will be interesting. Pretty soon the Byrne kids will all be mated since their parents caused the anomaly to be popular.

OMG. This series just gets better and better.
I loved Saxon and Elyse’s story.
Elyse a human has been captured and guarded by savages. She is being used for her ability.
Saxon is on the hunt for a house with a wraparound porch that kadence saw in her vision. Eventually Saxon finds the house but after battling with savages he collapses outside in the snow.
Elyse makes a run for it not knowing if she could trust Saxon.
She doesn’t get far and ends up pulling him into the warmth.
They are now both stuck inside after a snowdrift.
Both attracted to each other however Elyse finds this disturbing as Saxon is a Vampire like her captures.
Can they get on and get out before the rest of the savages come back? Can they save Elyse’s father?
Sensational addition to the series. Can’t wait for more.

5 stars!!

This is another terrific read in the Alliance series and I absolutely loved it. Saxon is a very lovable guy and I enjoyed getting to know him better and catch up with characters from previous books. Elyse is a fantastic heroine with plenty of secrets and her story weaves perfectly into the overall unfolding story of this series. I couldn’t put it down, it’s full of actions and twists; I know fans of these books will love it! I’m really looking forward to the next book in 2020! 😁

This was another great story in the series! Definitely next level! Saxon has always been an interesting guy and I’m happy to see him get his own book. And things are even more interesting. He searches out a certain cabin because Kadence knows there’s something there, but the problem is no one knows what. But it’s more like a who. It’s Elyse. Poor woman has been through hell and it shows. But she can help them in a way no one would have thought possible. It’ll also uncover an enemy that I’m not sure how they will fight. Makes me ready for the next book!

Very good read!

I really enjoyed Saxon and Elyse’s story. The time they spent together in the cabin as they learned about each other and learned to trust one another was tough but endearing. What Elyse went through was horrible and having to face the Defenders after they learned what she had been involved in showed her strength. What they all found in the tunnels towards the end was scary and exciting. The Alliance definitely has a hard road ahead. I’m so excited about the next book. We finally get to learn about Declan. I love this series.

Wow! This was a good one and the things they discovered...whew! It’s a nightmare just waiting to happen. I think Saxon and Elyse work perfectly together. She’s been used and battered, threatened and done things she never wanted to but she still has a strength and fight left in her. He’s been walking alone for so long. Battling the urges everyday and forced to do what he must to survive. When he finds her, she eases the torment. They still have to walk through hell and fire to get to a place where they can both be happy.

Another amazing series by Brenda!
This is Saxon and Elyse’s story and boy can you feel the chemistry and the tension build between them.
Elyse is a human has been captured and Saxon is not.
Saxon is determined to find a house with a wraparound porch that Kadence sees in a vision. When Saxon finally finds the house in Kadence's vision he collapses from exhaustion from fighting with savages that have Elyse captive.

You can feel the tension build between them and the chemistry is strong however Elyse is fighting her feelings because Saxon is a Vampire like her captures.

Good old fashion torture

This book had me cringing like no other. Talk about mental torture. So glad Saxon found his mate considering he was on the edge of going savage. Then there is poor Elyse who's had it rough since turning twelve and the past year has been absolute hell with a side of torture. She does have quite a unique ability though, which will now be used agaisnt her captors. Thankfully they find each other and the years of bliss for them and a glimpse as to what everyone is up to is nice.

Saxon and Elyse

And I’m back with my favorite vampires, yay.....

This series never disappoints. I can’t pick a favorite because I love every book in the series.
So Saxon finds Elyse in a weird/different/crazy situation but is Elyse telling the truth??
Secrets, lies and Savages.
Action adventure and hidden tunnels.
Explosion of the literal and sexy kind.

A brilliant story full of magical awesomeness I just couldn’t put it down.

Following up on a lead from Kadence’s dream, Saxon and 4 of his buddies track down a desolate cabin in the woods of back state New York.

Keeping her father as hostage, Elyse has been held captive there to be one of Joseph’s blood donors. Then, a deadly battle and a snowstorm prevent Saxon and Elyse from leaving the area.

Fave scenes: Saxon’s battle in the snow at the cabin, Saxon bringing in the firewood, escaping the hospital and Logan waking up.

Bound by Passion (The Alliance Book 4)

As per usual, another excellent by Brenda K Davies. The storyline is really good with more action than you could handle. The love scenes are pretty great too.
I have yet to read one of her books that wasn’t excellent with enough mystery and intrigue to keep everyone wanting more.
I highly recommend this series. You sure won’t be disappointed!

Ok. After the 3rd book I thought we were well on fighting ground. This book felt like a "let's take a pause and get somethings slowed down". It was more of a discovery and revelation to what is yet to come.

And it confirms same in the final chapter, the extended years before the next story will take place. Allowing time for growth.

I must say the actioned areas as usual keeps you glued. The author is great at it and not repetitive.

Maybe a 3.5

Bound by Passion Review

Kadence sends Ronan and his trusted friends in search of a cabin in the woods, a needle in a haystack. Saxon finds the cabin and his mate Elyse.
Another great addition to The Alliance Series. A well-written suspenseful story. Characters we have fallen in love with and new ones introduced.

Brenda K. Davies has a gift of making each of her characters unique but equally loveable, and Elyse & Saxon in "Bound by Passion" were certainly no exception. I was especially drawn to the sweetness between these characters. And there was plenty of heat too! This story was a great read and I continue to adore this series!

Good , not my favorite

Saxon hell of a Damn name. Lol I just feel the mate bond is seriously lacking the more books are made. Idk why but it seems Isabelle and Ethan s stories were full of so much love and devotion were as now it's lacking. But it's not gonna stop me from reading on. Bring on Declan I've been waiting on his story since Ronan s book

Elyse and Saxon

Another great addition to this series!
Saxon the known ladies man of this defender group finally meets his mate. Elyse is drawn to Saxon but is very much on guard after what she’s been through. She’s unaware that there’s a difference between the vampires. Lots of action in this book, some nail biting situations too. Overall a great book.
On to the next one
