Robyn received a book from her big sister and immediately fell in love with Cinderella. Sprinklings of magic, deepest wishes come true - she was hooked! Picture books with glass slippers later gave way to romance novels. When she was older, she wanted to write one.

However, in junior high, Robyn hit a stumbling block - a disheartening grade of one out of ten for a book review. Confused and hurt, she asked her hundred-and-thirty-year-old English teacher why the low mark? The wizened schoolmarm sniffed, "You obviously had a senior do it for you." Thankfully Robyn's business teacher was a honey.

Following a fifteen-year career behind the scenes in television, Robyn knew the time was right to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. Late in 2004, she received a phone call from a London editor. She'd submitted a manuscript to the Sweet line, which were featuring lighter, sexier stories to be released under the Tango banner. The editor was very interested in her story, but for a brand new line.

Robyn didn't stop smiling for a week, but sometime later learned her revised manuscript hadn't hit the mark. Then she received another call and another request for revisions to a second manuscript! That didn't sell either. On a third manuscript she received a very long, very detail email, asking for, what would turn out to be, a complete rewrite. Having torn out most of her hair, but with 13 contest finals in 2006 (including winning the Golden Pen and Where the Magic Begins), she finished the rewrite then contacted a New York agent. That wonderful agent took her on, and Robyn sold in a matter of weeks, first to Silhouette Desire, then Modern Heat (Sexy Sensation/Presents) with a two book deal! She is currently writing manuscript number fourteen.

Robyn lives with her own modern-day hero on Australia's Sunshine Coast with their three little princesses, as well as two poodles and a cat called Tinkie. She has majors in English literature and psychology, and loves new shoes, worn jeans, visits to the theatre and lunches at picturesque Moffat Beach with her writer friends.

This one is cute. The h, Vanessa, runs a rescue type pet shop and needs a business loan. The H, Mitch, needs a pet. So he gets a goldfish he names Kamikaze from Vanessa's pet shop.

Unfortunately Kami keeps evacuating his bowl to see what the dry world is like, so Vanessa makes a house call for a fish 911 rescue. After realizing that Kamikaze is a more expansive water boundaries kinda fish, Vanessa brings a bigger tank and Kami is saved.

The HP Lurve Force Mojo strike is instant for both of them during the fish house call. After a few very roofie kisses, the H gives Vanessa a loan and she warns him she isn't a pay to play kinda girl.

We then get some condescension towards Vanessa from Mitch's Nematode Mother, when the woman contacts Vanessa to find Cockapoo puppies.

But neither Nematode Mum's disapproval nor Mitch's mentor threats that he will block Mitch's ascension to the head of the family firm can stop these two from being cast adrift on the shores of transcendental purple passion bliss and a nice little romance is begun.

Vanessa's aunt shows up to give Vanessa a check for a million dollars after she sold a very valuable painting. Vanessa is able to clear her conscience regarding Mitch's loan and is also ready to buy her pet shop that she currently leases.

(There is also a cute Mum Cat and kitten rescue, with Mitch learning how to do tiny cat bottle feeds.)

Nematode Mum and the Mitch Mentor decide to intercede again, with an attempted payoff for Vanessa from Nematode Mum and more threats that Mitch will be kicked out of the company by the Mentor.

Vanessa decides to fake being ill for a week until Mitch gets his big promotion, but Mitch realizes she is faking it and dumps her right before he gets the big corner office.

To make the Standard HP Black Moment even more abysmal, the painting the aunt sold turns out to be fake and Vanessa has to give the money back and loses her pet shop.

There are some serious mopey moments for everyone, but soon Mitch shows up to save the day by buying Vanessa's former shop - after some really pink sparkly Declarations of True Love forever from both of them.

We get a nice little epilogue where Mitch and Vanessa are getting married, expanding Vanessa's pet shop to a multi-location operation and deciding to adopt children along with the usual HP Stork method of delivery.

Nematode Mum gets pawned off on another elderly pet food billionaire and we can all relax as True Love and Pets win once again in HPlandia.

This is a cute, fluffy and fast paced HP outing. I gave it two extra stars for the pets, but had to cut out a star for the lack of on page Nematode Mum smackdowns from Mitch. (Mentor guy got punished cause his wife is seriously ill.) Overall it was fun and a nice day at the HP office.

Did not like it, was quite boring and I did not care for heroine running a pet store. I did not like the plot, characters or really anything about book. Np.
