When Matchmaker Lady Venus drops dead on the Pineapple Port community center's stage during a Valentine's event, Charlotte and the new detective agency she's started with her fiance Declan are called to the scene.
As danger mounts, she'll need everyone's help to keep Venus' family safe, which means tapping into Declan's giant, former employee salesman and his crazy Uncle Seamus—both of whom are falling for the ladies in their lives.
Someone might need to keep an eye on Darla and Mariska, too—wiith Lady Venus dead, they think they should take her place...and a mysterious local matchmaker doesn't agree!

Is it murder...or not? While the police and coroner figure this out, Charlotte and Declan pickup a side gig as bodyguards for the adult children of Lady Venus (the maybe murder victim) to kick of their new detective business Charlock Holmes. Can you say that name without chuckling? Blade helps Declan with the bodyguard duty while Charlotte does the investigating. Uncle Seamus, Mariska, and Darla are in this story as well. Fun and entertaining. It takes until the end to figure out the murder. The only complaint I have it that there is so much time in between book releases. A favorite series.
Charlotte and Duncan have their first client! Blade is hired to do bodyguard service with Declan. Venus the matchmaker/con artist is dead. Is it accidental or murder. That’s what Charlotte needs to find out. I absolutely love Darla and Mariska and their hilarious friendship and “business ideas”! This was a wacky, hilarious story with even wackier characters than usual. I love the pineapple port series and this book is no exception. It’s always funny and puts me in a good mood! I highly recommend this book and this series!
I really enjoyed this latest addition to the series. The storyline was refreshing and well written. The mystery was fun to solve but the best part of the book was the antics of the regular denizens of the community. Charlottes adopted moms were up to their normal silliness which always makes me smile. But by far the dialogue between Charlotte and Declan as they caught their killer was the best. I truly laughed out loud. This book (along with the rest of the series) belongs in your TBR pile.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
I haven't read a Pineapple Port book in a while. I think I may have missed a couple! Declan is now the fiance' of Charlotte and his junk shop, antique store, has burned down. They've started a new business together as private investigators. Darla and Mariska are still busy busy in everyone's business and Charlotte is still amazed she has a man such as Declan! This is a fun cozy and has interesting characters added to the regulars. I would recommend, especially if you enjoy Amy Vans and books.
Charlotte and Declan land their first client, but it's not their typical gig. When a popular matchmaker dies at a community event, they're hired as bodyguards by her children. Meanwhile, Darla and Mariska decide to fill the gap left by the death to become matchmaker themselves. I mean, how hard can it be, right? LOL, harder than you think actually. While Charlotte and Frank focuses on solving the murder, the ladies find themselves doing the strangest things for their long-lasting clients.
Who knew matchmaking could be so deadly? Once again Charlotte, with Declan and Blade’s help, solve a matchmaker’s murder and we find a bit more about the mysterious Blade along the way. As ever Mariska and Darla are in the thick of things trying their hand at a new business with fun results. Clues, intrigue, fun and a great read. I received an ARC of this book but voluntarily leave this review.
Lady Venus, wealthy matchmaker, drops dead on stage. Charlotte, Declan and Blade are hired by the family as detectives and bodyguards. Meanwhile, Mariska and Darla try to start a matchmaking business. Watch out! You never know what will happen next in Pineapple Port.
Even though it is rather obvious who the culprit is in this daring tale of Charlotte and Declan, the adventure is still a fun read. Of course, Darla and Mariska are there with their absurd ideas. There's A hangup ending.
A matchmaker dies unexpectedly at a gathering in Pineapple Port. Her children hire Charlotte and Declan as bodyguards. Someone takes a shot at the son, then the daughter.
Charlotte, Declan, and the rest of the usual people are back. A big-time matchmaker dies in Pineapple Port and Frank asks Charlotte to work on the case. Things are not as they seem. A great story.
Matchmakers For The Silver Foxes In this episode, it's all about love! Matchmakers in competition, jilted lovers, and murder. This is laugh-out-loud funny with so many things going on! The mystery is well thought out, as always. I love this series and can't wait for the next episode.
Wonderful, wonderful story! This book was really great! I'm almost to the last book in the series (so far) and I can't wait! Grab this series of books, start reading now!
Matchmaking ... Oh my!!!!! Lady Venus oh my!!!!! A son named Cupid oh my!!!! Mariska & Darla those two oh my are way over the top!!! Charlock Holmes Detective Agency is starting to get off the ground and they added on body guards as service.
Mariska and Darla never fail to bring the funny side story alongside Charlotte and Declan's mystery! Really enjoyed this latest installment of Pineapple Port!
Another fun entry in this series. Lively characters, interesting setting, great stories. Too short, but there are so darn many of them and they're pretty cheap, especially as bundles.
Another mystery solved by the denizens of Pineapple Port. Mariska and Darla are trying out a new business while Charlotte and Declan try their hands at security.
I just love this series. It is fast paced, action packed with a whole lot of humor and a bunch of wacky characters all thrown together to make one good read!
Love is in the air, is a very good description for the book and how I feel about the story and the series in general. Although I had guessed who was responsible from the get go, it was a lot of fun to see if I was right. Especially with the antics of Darla and Mariska as they once again add humour to the story in a way that only they can. They might only be side characters or sometime sidekicks for the actually detectives and main characters but they make this series for me. The rest of the characters are a delight and even Blade might have won me over in this book, as he joins the detective agency. He has been around for a number of books but i think this is the first book that he has really got involved. He is another quirky character in a series that is designed to make you laugh and at book 17 the series still going strong. The story is told by mulitpul characters, with Declan and Blade acting as bodyguards, Charlotte and Frank working the murder and Darla and Mariska working as match makers, this means the fun never stops, well until you reach the end of the book. Amy Vansant is a master of the cozy mystery genre and I can't wait for the next book.
Love is in the air, well it would be if the matchmaker herself hadn't dropped dead in the middle of the stage. Pineapple Port own detective team is quickly on the case but Declan and the newest employee Blade are hired as bodyguards for the remaining family members. Charlotte with nothing to do looks into the death by visiting over matchmaker in the area. Was her death a murder? And if so could one of them be responsible? The family, her son and daughter, refuses to cancel there commitments to there clients and continue to plan a retreat for there top clients on a private island. When the autopsy results come back and an attempt on both siblings is made, Charlotte finds herself packing her bags to play both detective and bodyguard. Is it a good idea to stay on an island with a killer lose? At the same time Darla and Mariska decide to fill the gap left behind by the victim and start there own matchmaking business. They just need to find the perfect couple. What could go wrong? I like the narrator and for me she is the voice of the Pineapple Port gang. She can provide voices for both the old and young make and female and even a few accents.
Love or at least Mariska and Darla's version is loose in Pineapple Port. There's also a killer running rampant who must be stopped. A clever whodunit with a satisfying ending.
