In "Hidden Truth, Forbidden Knowledge" Steven Macon Greer provides his own personal disclosure based on years of high-level meetings with over 450 military & government-connected insiders & whistle-blowers & briefings with senior government officials, such as former CIA Director R. James Woolsey, members of the US Senate & senior UN officials. In addition to these disclosures, "Hidden Truth, Forbidden Knowledge" unveils the actual contact experiences Dr. Greer has had with UFOs & Extraterrestrial Civilizations, beginning as a young child. In one of the most amazing & moving personal stories ever shared, he explains how after a prolonged near-death experience at age 17, he experienced cosmic consciousness & found the Rosetta Stone of ET contact: the power of the unbounded mind within each of us. Later this led to numerous Close Encounters of the 5th Kind: contact with ETs initiated by Greer & later by larger groups of people through the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence project.
This book was surprisingly very spiritual. Not only does it introduce some extremely profound ideas, but strengthened my faith in God and the existence of heaven. My outlook on some aspects of life - like coincidences, deja-vu and dreams - will be forever changed. Although, it is hard to believe some things Dr Greer presents... but then again, spirituality isn't a concrete, materialized existence which makes it hard to explain and requires faith if you haven't been so lucky to experience a miraculous happening yourself; so who's to say they're not true? After doing some digging on the inter-webs, you'd be surprised at how much supportive evidence you can find on Dr Greer's claimed events. It's taken me a really long time to write this review because I just simply don't know what to say... I think it would be beneficial for anyone to read this book, whether you believe in aliens or not. In fact, it doesn't really matter what you believe, because it will be what it has been since the beginning of time and personal opinions will not change that fact. I completely agree that if every human being on the planet Earth just had an open mind about things - and I mean everything - the world would be such a better place. We will for sure be the source of our own extinction if we stay close minded and stubborn. You don't have to believe. But you could wake up from something you had no idea you were asleep for if you just become aware.
The writing presented is a somewhat biographical look at Dr Steven Greer's life and his exploration into much maligned world of extraterrestrial life.
If the author is to be believed, then the knowledge in this book is mind blowing. Very spiritual in nature, the stories Dr Greer shares will make you think, experience a sense of wonder, become sad and angry but ultimately, hopeful for the future of humanity.
If you don't have an open mind, then this book will seem too unbelievable to process. You'll suspect the author and anybody who believes his writing has lost their mind!
Personally, I'm skeptical but positive about what I've read here.
The author, a former ER Doctor, comes across as credible, thoughtful and convincing. The witnesses and people he associates with appear very credible.
If you're used to reading wacky and scary alien abduction stories, then this is the exact opposite. It's very thoughtful indeed.
Only time will tell if this is a work of great fiction or humanity's greatest ever adventure!
"There is so much spy-versus-spy going on within the Shadow Government, and there are so many factions, and shifting alliances: IT's an extremely dynamic situation. People have a tendency to view this covert control group as monolithic and fixed, but it isn't. It's very dynamic, even fractured."
This is a great book from start to finish. To some people who read this that are not in tune to what is going on in the world, this book might be hard to swallow. But after you read it, you begin to become more aware of things such as media control and who is really running the world.
This book changed my life for the better and I have an entirely different outlook on life that can't be broken.
One of the freakiest, most thought provoking and bizarre books I've ever read on UFOs. The book is essentially Greer's autobiography. Greer was an ER doctor in South Carolina, if I recall, then quit to devote his life to lobbying the US Government for UFO disclosure. He claims to have had a NDE (near death experience) at 18 that not only brought him closer to the Great Spirit, but which also taught him to communicate with extra-terrestrial beings. One of the major points Greer makes is that UFO secrecy on the government's part is tied to advanced technologies that the state does not want to reveal to the public. These technologies have been purportedly reversed engineered from downed alien ships. The tech is so advanced that it poses an existential threat to the fossil fuels industry that reaps tens of billions of dollars a year in profits. Greer also rebuts the argument that Aliens might pose a threat to the human race. He argues that the opposite is true and that the US military has shot down some UFOs out of the sky. Greer also ties super advanced propulsion systems to higher consciousness and answers the question of how aliens have achieved interstellar space travel. What strikes me about Greer is the tone of his work. He does not attract ridicule or derision as is often the case with people involved in UFO research. People take him very seriously, and not just any people. He has managed to recruit into his Disclosure Project hundreds of respected, high ranking folks from the aerospace industry, military, and government. These are individuals who claim to have first-hand knowledge of UFO/Aliens and have participated in highly classified projects commissioned by the US Government. The press conference that Greer hosted in 2001 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. included a panel of some of these people, all of whom said they were prepared to testify before Congress. The incredible stories the panel members share and the formal, solemn tone in which they speak makes the press conference a thing to behold. Look for it on youtube, and read this book!
This is a fascinating and intriguing book. I do have to warn you as the reader, you have to have an extremely open mind to read this though. Most of Dr. Greer’s ideas, concepts, and beliefs are very hard to believe; sounds more like something out of science fiction novels and TV shows. But whether you choose to believe in ET’s or any kind of conspiracies, I found a couple of interesting questions after reading this book. Why would so many high level government officials, corporate executives, and researchers interview with him and discuss this information as well as push for disclosure? Can they all be crazy? Read this book and think for yourself. Despite your conclusions, I applaud Dr. Greer for concluding with what we as a human race are capable of if we put our barriers and beliefs aside to focus on building a better more peaceful world with a desire to explore the cosmos and more.
A mostly interesting telling of Dr. Greer's life over the past 20 years, as he attempted and succeeded (in some aspects) to expose the truth about UFO and extra-terrestrial contact with common humans and the US Government.
The only drawback I found in this book was the writing 'style.' Quite frankly it read like a poorly transcripted tapes from his various speaking engagements and/or actual dictation and then cobbled together to make this book. There are no photos or diagrams. It read to me like a semi-casual, stupendous narrative with moments of ecstatic revelation. Lots of "so, now you see", "and then you have", "and this is how it is" conversational bits that became overly distracting after long reading sessions, forcing me to put the book down for another day. At times I got the impression that this writing style was preserved expressly to convince certain readers who enjoy colloquial story-telling that what he was saying was God's honest truth.
If you can get around the writing, there is some amazing information in here, told from a unique perspective. However, before tackling this book I would recommend first watching the 4 hours of Disclosure Project video on Google Video - both the entire 2001 National Press Club Press Conference and the 2.5 hours of behind-the-scenes interviews and footage, or you might just chalk Hidden Truth: Forbidden Knowledge up as completely unbelievable.
This book is a transcript of a number of talks Greer did. Greer discusses his early years, including his near-death experience and spiritual transformation. He then goes on to explain why a successful ER doctor gave up a lucrative career to become an expert on extra-terrestrials (ETs). Further to this, he explains why he was so driven to disclose the existence of ETs and how and why a select group of people, a cabal, are desperate for them to remain a secret. Greer has been criticised as being in collusion with that cabal, but having read this book I don’t believe this is the case. Greer simply understands that inclusion, not exclusion is the only way to achieve world peace which would allow civilization changing technology to be released. His determination to expose almost got him killed and cost him dearly on a number of fronts. In the last chapters, Greer speaks of his vision for the future in which humanity achieves, world peace, higher states of consciousness and becomes part of the galactic community.
Although I’m not convinced of everything he said, I do agree in principle with most of it. The book is an informative and fascinating read. It is not just for UFO fanatics, but for all who desire truth and share a vision for a better future for Earth and humanity.
I was first introduced to Steven Greer by Michael Miley, then an editor of UFO Magazine, who had some of the Disclosure Project interview recordings. Since that time I've made a point of watching all the testimony available on the Web collected by Dr. Greer and his colleagues. For this effort of interviewing and recording over 600 authoritative UFO experiencers, the Disclosure Project is to be applauded and encouraged.
Dr. Greer himself, however, is another matter. This book, which is basically a spiritual autobiography, is, unlike most of the testimony collected in the Disclosure Project, beyond belief. Well, beyond my belief in any case. Greer may well believe he has various alien species at his beck and call, but I'd need a lot of corroborating evidence before I'd buy any of his revelations as being more than his personal, rather inflated, self-estimation.
I got through most of the book O.K. but I found the last 5 or 6 chapters to be a real struggle. I read Hidden Truth as s.f. after coming across the statement " the truth hides itself". I can buy into U.F.O.s, after all there are many unexplained manifestations in our world. However I would have liked to have seen more corroboratory evidence as to some of the author's more outlandish claims. Still, a very provocative look at a very controversial topic.
After watching Steven Greer's documentary "Sirius", I came to the very easy conclusion that he is a remarkable intellect. I was then motivated to listen to several Youtube videos that featured his lectures.
This book could easily be termed an autobiography, as it gives insight into many aspects of Steve's fascinating life. If you enjoy listening to Dr. Greer, then you will likely find this book to be a positive reading experience, as I did.
This is a must-read if you want to know the TRUTH about extraterrestrials, UFOs, and what's REALLY going on. My favorite part is that this book is so full of a greater vision for planet Earth and points to a future full of peace, joy, love, and spiritual enlightenment - with our ET brothers and sisters who are here to assist us in creating that new reality!
I read this book through in 4 days. For me it was good to have some knowledge about Dr. Greer and Ufology before reading this book. That helped me a lot. I believe that it could be hard for people who have never read anything in this matter to get through this book.
Well what we have here is that all outer space extraterrestrials are actually good. On the other hand America has a Star wars project and a shadow government and they are not nice. Those guys also are hiding all kinds of technology which could be of much benefit for mankind but sorry no sharing. At some point I got the feeling that Dr. Greer was trying not to tell me too much, for example but all that technology which we may not know about. There is more to this and it feels like he knows much more than he is actually telling us.
Dr. Greer is very spiritual and he goes very much beyond the world as we know it. It´s for us to decide if he is telling the truth or not.
I would definitely recommend this book. Very informative. A small amount was quite technical physics wise so difficult to grasp if you haven't had courses in physics. But, ultimately you get the gist of what he is talking about. Lots of detail. Anyone looking to become more in tune with earth and the cosmos should read this book. I loved it!
Human beings are meaning making machines, we can't help but connect dots that may or may not be there... Ugh, this book was a waste of time. Leave information and revelations about the search for intelligent life to those who are willing to dedicate themselves to the scientific method.
If you read slowly and very closely you begin to understand how all the religions, dogmas are just a way to control us. I like the concept of spirituality it doesn’t confine you it’s a very freeing feeling after reading this book, everything is one :)
Just read it and enjoy the depthful lessons Dr. Greer has in store. Don't be put off by the supposed quality issues on this book, they're minimal and do not detract from the wisdom to be found amongst these pages. Will be re-reading forever.
A description of spirituality that finally makes sense and resonates within me. A beautiful future is described along with the extreme darkness of on going governmental deceit and corporate selfishness that will take your breath away. A must read.
I don't know what to think about this book. I got interested in Steven Greer through the documentaries "Unacknowledged" and "Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind." In my mind, nobody has done more to get the UFO issue taken seriously. Through Greer's efforts, we've been exposed to the testimony of so many reputable whistleblowers in the form of generals, government employees, aerospace engineers, etc. Everything taken together, it makes a very convincing case that the Earth is being visited by extraterrestrials.
But ... this book is far out. I mean really far out. Initially, I was deeply interested in how Greer fused spirituality with ET encounters, because I recognised his spirituality as esoteric in the same way that mine is - what is essentially called non-duality. But Greer has so many stories about his own past encounters with ETs, about meeting beings in the astral plane, about technology that appears magical to our present understanding. He speaks prophetically, and in very dogmatic detail, about the utopian future that awaits humanity - like I'm supposed to believe he's the sage of all sages. But all I've got is a book that's making bold claims.
I finish it, I close it, and I come back to the mundanities of my life with a bang, because I'm rational, because I'm somebody who needs evidence before committing to a belief. And while there are photographs, they are never of the quality that supports the kind of intimate, mind-blowing encounters described in the book.
Furthermore, take the claim that humans will be able to dematerialise and rematerialise their bodies. What happens if I've got dental fillings? Think about it. They're not part of my body. Would they dematerialise? Would they fall out and hit the ground, and I'd have to get more fitted later? This guy is a retired medical doctor. Don't these issues occur to him when he makes claims like that? Because they do occur to me. It's the same problem I have with David Icke and his reptilian shapeshifters.
Steven Greer is an enigma to me. Hell, he has even briefed several US presidents on the UFO issue. He has given up a highly paid career as a medical doctor to pursue ET disclosure. But I'm on the fence about him, because this book has its problems.
Memories, adventures and shared history of a ufologist who founded the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence. The author leads groups in learning meditative techniques for contacting extraterrestrials and communing with them in peace. He calls these groups of people ambassadors from Earth to the stars. Fascinating reading and such a hopeful, positive view of what the future of the cosmos, and life here on earth, could look like if we learn from and cooperate with extraterrestrials.
I've read 4 out of the 5 books by Dr. Greer and this one is my favorite so far. Yes, I'm still reading it! It turns out to be his memoir and much more personal than the others. I'm really savoring the last 100 pages because they include some spectacular meditations. Dr. Greer is a superb meditation teacher. He inspired this, the 12th episode of my podcast: https://anchor.fm/revdrjude/episodes/...
It is a priceless book written by a doctor who worked in an emergency department, but gave up on his career and started telling the world that we are not alone in the universe and projects we should know about. For most, Dr Greer’s ideas seem to sound like something from science fiction novels and/ or movies. However, reading the book, you can ask yourself: “Why is so much information forbidden?” “Why is so much information distorted?” “Why do some government officials discuss this information and push for disclosure?”. This book is structured in three parts. In the first part, Dr. Steven Greer recounts his experiences related to extraterrestrials, telling us about the unidentified flying object he saw at a young age and the experience of clinical death he experienced at 17 years old. The second part follows the secrets of UFOs, related projects, his meeting with senators, one of the CIA directors, heads of state and members of the royal families. At the same time, the book leads us to the group of people who lead the planet from the shadows and provides information about their plan to implement it. The third part deals with the future, looking to the time when we would live focused on establishing a better world and living in Universal Peace. This is a fascinating book dedicated to all of us and our children.
Quotes:
"But is it time to find out why a doctor who was the director of a very active emergency department gave up his career to tell the world that we are not, in fact, alone in the universe?" "It’s all about control, power, religious ideology and greed. We know that there have been technologies that can provide the world with a lot of energy without consuming our precious natural resources. Unfortunately, people who have access to these technologies have not shared them with us."It is time for one chapter of human history to close and another to open. Do we have the courage to embrace this new world, characterized by universal peace, enlightenment, and a civilization of truly advanced technology on Earth lasting for thousands of years?"
Lots of good knowledge in this book and it deepens your faith and your beliefs of what you know and don't know. It has changed my outlook on aliens and I believe that what the doctor says is true.
I actually didn't finish it. I just don't have the inspiration to continue it anymore. Maybe one day I will, but for now, it's going back on the shelf.
