This was an easy read it caught my attention completely. It even had a new twist of the MC being already married (even though it was fake) that's not a premise that's seen often. And there was a little bit of everything in it. Romance, action, mystery, secrets & Drama. I do recommend. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Forbitten Fae was an interesting world where supernaturals and humans exist and each species is trying their best to just live in a world and survive without their population numbers reducing.
Moira is a fae who has healing powers and is very connected to the Earth element. She's the main healer for Adrian's vampire clan. She is a great healer and has saved his ppl many a time but what they don't know is that she's an undercover Guardian. Guardians are pretty much enforcers of all the species and get themselves involved if they suspect a threat. Moira always thought vampires were evil, bad, killing creatures but working closely with Adrian she sees there's a lot more to vampires than meets the eye
Adrian is just trying to keep his people alive and has set very strict rules. However, his blood rigs start to be targeted threatening his species survival he has Moira assist in trying to figure out who is trying to ruin his mostly calm existence.
I really enjoyed this world and the blooming romance between Moira and Adrian. There is a piece of this I'm intentionally not mentioning cause I feel like it's a spoiler. The romance wasn't very sweeping or super steamy but I feel like the set up for the next book might bring on more of that. I definitely plan to read the next one.

Argumento:

suspenseful and full of emotions I love urban fantasy, and this exciting book's blurb and cover appealed to me in equal measure. From the beginning, it was easy for me to be drawn into the story, the setting was great and I could quickly build a connection to the protagonist. With Moira, the author has created a very interesting character. Gradually you get an insight into her complicated situation and I could sympathize with Moira's emotions. In some chapters you follow Adrian's perspective. This change gives an excellent view to the vampires and to Adrian. I could feel the tension between Moira and Adrian from the beginning and I can't wait to find out what happens next between the two of them. The storyline itself convinced me with an excellent build-up of tension and I could hardly interrupt the story. Despite the brevity, neither the setting, characters, suspense, or emotions came up short. The follow-up book is announced for April 2023 and is already on my wish list. Audio Book Notes: Olivia Jannesson's voice fits Moira very well and I really enjoyed her interpretation of the other characters. She knows how to transfer the tension to the listener. Note: I requested a free copy of the audio book. I voluntarily listened and reviewed it.
Book 3 now Reviewed in Australia on 19 July 2024 I thoroughly enjoyed both books but I do need a steamier bonus chapter - you cant have me fall in love with these two leads and not give me an off the charts version of that moment - I will sign up to your newsletter I will buy the book if that is what it takes. Moira and Adrian bonus content please please please.
This is a really uncomplicated & easy flowing read.... even the angst is approachable with so much longing......that love triangle is relatable and feels how it should polarising and with a magnetising draw. pick a side readers pick a side.
Well balanced with action and adventure elements that arent boring and prove the romantic suspense & mystery is hitting its stride. I love the hidden Identity trope its done right, the forced proximity where they work together was tightly written. Romantic shards that cut through the violence of their world bringing the reader a satisfying Urban Fantasy Romance.
first thoughts after finishing would reread and get Audio, and I hope Dustin gets his own book I got a crush on all of his unrequitedness restraint in this...Oh and Kellan too needs a book.
Hottest covers I have ever seen. read on KU.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
I can't wait to get my hands on the next book (hint, hint). This vampire romance story has equal measures of sexy nice guy vampire mixed with scary murderous vampire (I'm a definite fan of the scary sort). It brigdes the gap between teen vamps and the true horror of traditional vampires. Hoping the next book will show that side more (and be twice the length, lol.)
A quick read but it’s just a book that leads into the second. Weak story, kinda boring. Kept waiting for something interesting or worthwhile to happen… it didn’t. I might try the second book a bit to see if it gets better, but I might have to start a DNF list and add the sequel, we will see.
I thought that this would be just another vampire-wanting-to-feel-alive romances. I was wrong. This takes that trope and elevates it with an enemies-to-lovers vibe in an action-packed incipient war that has me wanting MORE. Where is book 2?
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This suffers from very clumsy writing which is most obvious in its attempt to explain political power games through the current ruler of a vampire faction with centuries of life experience (who is most likely the love interest as well). It makes him some sort of Watsonian character which shows a clear lack of understanding of these writing tools. I'd rather have flat-out exposition than have the protagonists seem stupid and incompetent for the sake of more organic explanations. It becomes increasingly clear that these supposedly immortal and wise beings have the wisdom and experience of someone in their early 20s at best. And because of that, all the conflict in the book feels contrived and juvenile if not stupid. And holy cheesiness of cheese. Shallow clichées all the way down.
This is also a rare example of an actually pretty bad audiobook recording. The overall quality is mediocre but there are sections that were clearly recorded with a different setup and in many of those sections the emphasis on individual syllables is so exaggerated that it becomes difficult to even understand entire words not to mention sentences. It's extremely strange. At other times the narrator sounds bored to tears while delivering deeply emotional (if horrifically cheesy) sections. A narrator doesn't need to love every word they read but I would still expect a certain level of professionalism beyond this.
I received this book for an honest review via Voracious Readers Only.
This was an amazing book that I could. not. put. down. If it was longer I would have stayed up later to read it. I can't wait to read more of this series.
We have a strong FMC and MMC, which I love. They know what they want and the situations they are in are well thought out with believable actions and overall just an amazing storyline. You can see where there will be complications in the future and the way T.W. writes? I can't wait to see how the MCs handle the hurdles together.
As king of the vampires, Adrian must deal with all the politics, mutinies and the complexities of running a monarchy while staying neutral between warring factions of other supernaturals.
Moira is a married fae healer working for the vampire seethe. She becomes a friend to the king but as a fae is shunned by most vampires. As their friendship progresses, we discover some interesting twists in the story which will hopefully develop further in book two.
I fell in love with this story immediately. It is a great introduction to this series. Paranormal Romances are a top favorite genre for me and I was not disappointed. The story starts off with such intensity that I was on the edge of my seat. I fell in love with the characters and how they grow throughout the book. The intensity of the characters emotions and how they feel throughout is palpable. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves paranormal characters and are fans of drama, romance and mystery. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
I went into this with somewhat low expectations. I expected a forbidden romance with some spice and figured it would be a decent 3-star read. I was very pleasantly surprised. The story is much more of a slow-burn. The fae is in an arranged marriage with someone who actually loves her (and she knows it), but she sees him only as a friend. This isn’t a friends to lovers scenario because she’s falling fast and hard for the enemy vampire whose seethe she has infiltrated! It’s not a standalone and the spice is very minimal, but I expect the complications and the spice to increase dramatically in the rest of the series!
This is a fab start to this series. Who would have thought a vampire king and a fae healer could fall for each other. Well written and well thought out with fantastic world building that you find your self drawn in. There’s drama, there’s secrets, there’s excitement and there’s romance and I look forward to where the author takes us next.
Start with the idea of embedding a fae spy as a healer for vampires. Grant both long lives and being physically attractive to one another, then use a renowned chef to spice the broth with a spoonful of intrigue, and you end up with a culinary masterpiece of a novel. Can't wait to see what's for desert in the sequel.
I received a review copy from the author, through Voracious Readers Only and could honestly not put down this page turner. Luckily it was a quick read, as I fell into the pages and could not get out. Intrigue, drama, forbidden romance and a satisfactory ending (almost). Well, I certainly want more from these two cuties. What is next?
Adrian is the vampire king, Moira is a fae healer working for him. But she is also a spy. When it seems there is a traitor in the king's inner circle the only person he trusts is Moira.
This one just kinda fell flat. It was fast paced with a lot of characters so it was difficult to really get into it.
I think I might just be in a mood because nothing is working for me right now. The writing felt a bit odd amd stiff but the world was interesting. I didn't love that Moira was "married" as a part of her cover because even though she doesn't have feelings for Dustin, he does love her. Amd as far as Adrian is concerned she's a married woman. It just wasn't sitting well with me.
I read it within a matter of hours! I couldn’t stop until it finished!! There was a mystery to solve and budding romance… I absolutely loved it! The cliffhanger wasn’t a killer but I am dying to know what happens in the next book!
So short. The last 20 pages were just the beginning of the next book. I desperately want to love this. The characters are cute and I NEED more of the FMC and MMC together, but a book with only 130 pages is just a tease.
I received this by via Voracious readers and really enjoyed it! Moira and Adrian have great chemistry. The book ends making you want to know what happens next. Loved it!
I was hooked right Off the get go! Fantastic book! Read through it very quickly! Definitely want to read another one. I liked its fast pace. Would definitely recommend!
