2.75 The description of this book was misleading. She doesn't realize she's pregnant with baby #2 until the last 1/5 of the book. It also says he ghosted her. But he didn't. There were breakup letters involved.

There is also a major plot with suspense elements that I was not anticipating.

Delightful!

This is a second chance romance with a past story and a current problem. Lots of action as these 2 college sweethearts meet accidentally, have an unexpected night of love, and the next morning , their 10 year old daughter comes home from an overnight at her uncle's house! She has problems with self confidence and feelings of worth while he suffers from lack of trust, in anyone, because he has been used and manipulated all his life because of his wealth. Lots if emotional situations and problems of trust for both of them! Enjoy!

I feel like Claimed by my Billionaire Ex by Ruby Emhart is mistitled because even after reading the entire story I didn’t notice any “claiming” happening. It could also mean that I read so many paranormal books so “claiming” means something else to me entirely, lol!

I think the last line of the preview should be changed because it does not actually happen until the very end of the book so it is misleading and will not affect the story if it is removed.

The best thing about this story is the POVs of Lucas. I think it would have been more interesting from his POV than from Olive’s. The author tries to give each character equal time to speak (so to speak) but I found Lucas’ POV more engaging and relatable.

What bothered me was that Lucas has a security firm whose company presumably employs hackers, why was it so difficult for him to trace Olive when she disappeared? Especially since she didn’t turn her phone off immediately and turned it on at predictable times since she called home. It just doesn’t make sense.

Also, Olive’s being hot and cold with her brother has me raising an eyebrow. After the revelation, I understand why, but until she knew of the deception … why? And where are their parents? Why does it seem like they are orphans?
Romance-wise, this story could probably do with more heat but the political intrigue, sex tapes, vote rigging, and hacking issues were interesting and made this an enjoyable book to read.

Lucas & Olive: triggers: hacking, drugs, dirty politics. A second chance romance. Olive is a struggling single mother just doing her best to keep her daughter fed, clothed and in a good school. This with her job at a diner, she's not doing very well. She's a couple months behind on tuition and the rent is a month behind. She takes a side job with an old friend to hack a computer and get an important video for a good sum of money. Then she sees the mark and who he's with. She's in. The job, get into an exclusive party at the mayor's house and get the video from his computer. Her in: her ex-boyfriend and her baby daddy. Lucas is a very successful billionaire, he runs his own business in security programs for politicians homes save computers. The minute he sees his college sweetheart again, he's determined to be with her again. Then one by one the drama unfolds. This story is very interesting, because it's not just about the romance between the characters but about how dirty politics can't be. Lucas is offered an option to be the mayor's vice president at the next election where the mayor will be running for president. But first, he must clean up his image and that starts with a monogamous relationship. He sees Olive as that option. Until a computer is hacked and roads lead to the woman who lays in this bed. Really good story even though I don't like politics in my romance books.

Olive is a single mother struggling to provide for her daughter that's in a school on a partial scholarship. When everything comes due the same time, she turns back to something she said she wouldn't do anymore...hacking. This has her coming in contact with her daughter's father and things reignite between them. However, he is involved with some shady people, and she has evidence of this from when she stole a drive to use and expose those people. Lucas is stunned to see Olive again and thinks it might be a second chance for them. Yet nothing prepared him for learning that she has his daughter. Will they figure out the misunderstanding that separated them? Can they find a way to be together?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This was more than what I expected!!! I thought it would be just another ex meet up and still have fire and get back together etc. But this book had so many twists and turns I had to stop and work things out haha. I loved it. It really captivated my attention and I had to finish it asap.
Olive and Lucas were high school sweethearts but something happened and they went their own way. I did fell sad they lost so much time because of this misunderstanding. I was actually cross with the misunderstanding. You will understand when you read it, I don't want to give much away.
But they find each other and he finds out he has a 10 Yr old daughter.
Read to find out how they work things out but can they last with all the secrets each have. Are the dangers lurking around the corner be enough for them to split again?
Great read and plenty of spicy moments.

Second chances read with secret child!!
This book I was bouncing between a 3 and 4 rating, the ending is what bumped it up for me. Olive was very hard to like through this read. Luca was being an honest and decent guy with regards to everything, having a child he didn't know about and all the circumstances. The story was good, Olive was just really childish to me for most of the book. The ending does clear some things up and made me glad that I finished this book. So this was a good read, just some rough parts for me in regards to the way the main female character acted. I will read more from this author!!.

I found this book very entertaining and easy to read. Olive and Lucas have great chemistry together, and Olive's daughter Claire is adorable. Lucas is quite an endearing character; he could be a man to fall for! I found some aspects of Olive's character difficult to like, and some of her actions and reactions feel unrealistic. The story had a little adventure and suspense in it, making it fun with some originality. I feel like telling any of the plot points might be revealing spoilers, so I'll just say that the book is a page-turner and I recommend it.

This is Olive and Lucas’s story. Olive is a struggling single mom to her 10-year- old daughter, and through hacking manages to contact Lucas, who is sexy, bossy, and dominating, and her brother’s ex best friend. How will Lucas react when he finds out what secret has been kept from him? This is a well written story which has secrets, drama, humor, witty banter, second chances, misunderstandings, danger, suspense, intrigue, family, friendships, emotions, and combustible and undeniable chemistry, which leads to an entertaining page turner.

This book is really great got some mystery and lots of chemistry between the two main characters! When a hard time getting money to support her loving funny sassy ten year old daughter this mom goes back to old habits. Which brings her first real love back to her life who is really successful and very charming if you ask me. What could possibly go wrong when there two very different lives are intertwine with each with lots steamy scenes , funny parts. Blackmail and much more to enjoy in this book. It will keep you wanting more it does for me come enjoy staying up late to read this awesome book:).

Oh my, this compelling page turner had me running the gamut of emotions. It was tense & intense,I wanted to smack some sense into the main characters at times & murder many judgemental & unkind folk who couldn't hold a candle to the down on her luck heroine. Their daughter was adorable & their sexual chemistry was explosive. Could they survive the drama & achieve a much deserved hea. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

This one is tough - I liked parts of the story, but I didn't care for Olive, who is the main character. She just wasn't very likeable to me.

There was a lot happening in the story, too, like one too many plot points. I think it could have been a good story if there'd been slightly less going on.

I usually enjoy this author's work and will keep reading her stories. This was just one I didn't love.

A gripping story, one that is hard to put down, I found the story of Olive and Lucas a pleasure to read. Their path is not without struggles and along the way they encounter many bumps and twists that they have to deal with. It is also nice to read that the female characters have a strong character and are not dependent on a man. This story is recommended.

Is this a second chance for Lucas & Olive?

The author has knocked it out of the park with Lucas & Olive's story. Their journey is a definite rollercoaster ride of emotions with a few twists & turns thrown in for good measure. If you love second chance romance then I highly recommend reading their story. Definitely worth 5 stars.
I can't wait to see what the author has next.

This might be the first read where the female lead is toxic and selfish (for the most part). It was on ok read but about a quarter of the way through I just wanted it to be over. I expected more intensity with this second chance story line but it kind of fizzled. So much potential for some really great story telling but everything felt rushed in how it all came together - especially Lucas and Claire's interactions.

This is a good second-chance storyline with misunderstanding, a reunion years later, a daughter unknown to the father, defined MCs, the child was adorable, the hero likable, and the heroine primarily annoying. There is drama, chemistry, and a HEA.

This was a real page turner I could not put it down. I Really enjoyed this. Olive is such a strong independent woman trying to raise her daughter the best she can.
Lucas is a hunk of a man and also a very strong character.

3.75 stars, Lucas was a good guy. Olive was a hard FMC to like, I felt a couple of her decisions were immature. Her actions caused more pain than necessary for her, Adam, Claire and Lucas. I liked the story in general just felt she could have handled things better.

I loved this thrilling and exciting romance novel. It is the first one I’ve read by the author and I liked it. I’m hoping to read more in the future as it has everything I want from a romance novel. I loved the authors writing style, it was great for a romantic story, I liked the character development and finding out more about main characters as the story unfolded. I also loved the exotic location of Boston and travelling to America via this fantastic novel.
I’m so happy to have discovered this new author for me. I’m giving this novel 5 stars as I think other readers will enjoy it too like I did.
