I really liked this volume because I could associate highly with a character, because cosplay is a form of therapy to dealing with everyday life.

Our team returns from the manga event and waits for their club to be restored to them. And we have a new character pop in, and she would be a major part in the future, and let's see how the story goes on already two chapters in the next volume, so let's go and keep on reading.

I have always loved comics, and I can and I have. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and I hope you will always love it. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics, Mangas, Mahwas, and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

With Nagomi reformed, cosplay has won the day and Lilysa couldn’t be happier. Or more popular. But she only has eyes (and other things) for Okamura, and they only have eyes for cosplay. But, between their attempts to justify the club to the school and Lilysa making some powerful “enemies”, there’ll be no time to rest on their barely-covered laurels!

Let me see if I can make it a whole review without mentioning the other, better, cosplay manga of the moment. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction has, certainly, settled into its own groove and it makes a great companion piece to any other manga of its ilk, with the usual caveats.

Which, yes, means the topless shots are back, although, if you made it this far, it’s not like this story hides its intentions from the first volume onward. There’s flesh about, and no mistake.

That may put it at odds with the genuine heart to it all, but it’s not like this stuff doesn’t exist in cosplay. And Lilysa really bonds with Nagomi, who’s only slightly besotted by Okamura’s resemblance to her own 2D crush (her momentary heel turn is a hoot). Besides, let the kids do what they want, right? Yeah, about that…

Even with such a pure-hearted ending, let’s face it - these costumes aren’t covering much. Lilysa might be concealing her identity for now, but she and Okamura need to write an article to save the club and that’ll be a pretty spicy reveal if they go through with it.

Which is why the jaded adult in me loved seeing the school principal and Mayuri discussing the article and whether releasing it at all is a good call. It’s believable enough that the passion of our lead dorks is blinding them to consequences that people who’ve been there might see.

Combined with Lilysa getting a momentary taste of just what the average teenage boy is going to say when presented with a photo of a scantily clad girl, it’s dealing with a reality that probably should get addressed in most cosplay stories.

Now, the immediate aftermath is some cosplay info dump combined with some bare breasts, so don’t think this story’s about to practice everything it preaches, mind you. But it’s a scenario that I was glad to see addressed - this stuff can and will happen.

The final portion of the volume sets up a new story, as Lilysa is picked as part of an up-and-coming cosplayer feature and ranks at the bottom, seemingly drawing the ire of the girl above her, an ice queen named Nonoa.

Appearances can be deceiving, however, as Nonoa is actually super impressed with Lilysa; she just happens to have so much trouble speaking that she makes Komi sound like the Micro Machine Man in comparison.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a nuanced portrayal of social anxiety, but it’s hard not to feel bad as Nonoa wrecks attempt after attempt after attempt. It can be frustrating to watch, but, well, that is kind of the point. Nonoa’s rocking some serious trauma caused by hurt words in the past.

There are worst ideas than bouncing our leads from cosplay problem to cosplay problem and solving them along the way. This also lets our dynamic duo get more involved and it just so happens to be expanding the harem angle at a brisk rate.

Not that most of these new additions have much to do, but that’s fine, Lilysa and Okamura are so cute together. Still, I do love Mayuri’s role as club advisor and also full-time shipper, who thinks she’s witnessing something amazing until these dingbats turn out to be deflecting onto the cosplay side so hard.

But that whole welcoming angle is really the angle that many cosplay stories take and it’s not a bad one. Nagomi is kind of tsundere, Mayuri is supportive, the school council president is obviously getting in on this, etc. All you need is love of a character you want to portray. And maybe 100 crunches a night, based on the art.

Speaking of art, I have to point out that some of the transitional panels in this volume are absolutely adorable, especially one of Lilysa and Okamura in the fabric store. It’s a great visual gag I wanted more of, just like Lilysa drinking water (that image is beyond wholesome).

On the underside, again, healthy ecchi content, pardon the phrase, abounds. It’s more than I need, but it is what it is. I will say the bonus manga has some of the craziest stuff, although this turns into a hilarious parade of panty shots leading to an absolutely perfect ending where the pressure (not that pressure, or that one either) finally gets to Okamura. Funniest cerebral hemorrhage ever.

I’m also a bit concerned over Nonoa’s physical depiction, which genuinely looks so skin and bones that she seems to be anorexic or similar. That’s something I hope gets addressed, because otherwise it’s a bit much for trying to be service-y. It’s clearly a choice, so I am hoping it amounts to something.

3.5 stars - it’s funny, it’s saucy, it’s charming, it’s ridiculous. For all that it seeks to appeal to other organs, its heart is in the right place and that has reliably kept it on my list of enjoyable reads.

This has a new character introduced, while also focusing on our main lead and her first ranking.

It's still a solid series. I enjoyed to learn about how the rankings go online for cosplayers, also the new character is insanely weird faces make her fun to view. I will say the fan service is toned down a lot, which is refreshing, but still see boobies and nips here or there but feels less forced. Overall a solid volume with a cute holiday special bonus chapter at the end. Who doesn't love a good ass shot? I know I do!
