**Katie** Dealing with one arrogant, temperamental author who is making demands on my time is all part of the job. I’m head of the London branch of Carlson Publishing and if I can organize the hell out of my three older stepbrothers, I can handle one difficult best-selling author. If that requires me to drive half a day to a remote Cornish cottage to get his contract signed, then that’s what I’ll do. But when the author turns out to be the tall, gorgeous, Scottish man who made me weak at the knees during our one-night stand two months before, a publishing contract is the last thing on my mind. I try to shake off my attraction and remind myself that he’s a charming player. But Drew’s mellow, throaty Scottish accent sends vibrations of pleasure shooting through my body with every word he utters. He makes me question myself. And it isn’t long before I’m wondering where our business agreement ends and our personal lives begin. **Drew** The first time I met Katie Carlson, we stumbled into her hotel suite without a clue who the other was. An amazing connection and a steamy one-night stand … Until I spotted her ID and realized she was about to be my boss. I should have never left the way I did, and fate certainly had a way of ramming home that mistake. Now I’m left trying to pick up the broken pieces of my life, one painful day at a time. Everything changed for me that night, and I’ve tried to erase it from my memory, but her beautiful face has taken up residence in my head. I know I should stay away, but the moment I see her again, I know I can’t. Not until I can apologize and make things right with her. That’s the plan … But we all know the simplest plans never turn out to be so easy in the end.
Eluding the Billionaire is book two in the Carlson Dynasty series. A full length sexy standalone romance with a difficult alpha male author hero and a smart strong billionaire heroine. Guaranteed HEA and no cheating. Adults only.

Will Katie and Drew see each other again after there night together follow there story.
Cate has written these two main characters well Katie is a strong willed women and Drew Oh my days you will love him he is a tough ex SAS but he has a few challenges and you will love him even more after seeing what he has to go through. Head now for the extra epilogue for me 4⭐️
Eluding the Billionaire is book two in the Carlson Dynasty series, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I actually listened to this book on audible rather than reading it, and I thought it was really easy to follow and not get distracted, and I also enjoyed the narrator's voice, pacing and telling of this story. Katie and Drew have a hot and steamy one night stand. Neither of them know who the other is. Fast forward, Katie is the boss of a publishing company and Drew is a pain the butt author signing with her company. Drew treats her crappy, so Katie tries to avoid him. However, Drew refuses to give up on pursuing her. Can the two make it work, or will this all end badly??
I have loved other books by Cate and read her other books about the Carlson siblings, and this one did not disappoint. Drew a strong-willed Scot who was captivated by Katie letting herself loose on the dance floor they shared one steamy night together, then Drew realised who she was and scarpered without saying goodbye, during his frantic exit an awful accident happened, and Katie was left not knowing what happened to Drew. But when they finally meet again, the chemistry is still there, and Drew has his work cut out, getting the woman he wants, he has to decide if he wants forever.
Lots of steamy romance and a rollercoaster of emotions.
Definitely recommend it. It was a book that I couldn't put down, and I got lost in the world of sexy author Drew and Katie
This is the first book that I have read in this series and it doesn't disappoint. I loved the chemistry between Katie and Drew but it turns out that she is the boss of the publishing house that he is signing with but can they keep business and pleasure separate. Katie doesn't like the up and down with how Drew treats her so tries to stay away from him but he doesn't give up easily. Can they get their HEA when she doesn't know if he loves her or is just using her. Absolutely loved the ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
We finally get answers about the mysterious author Katie was trying to reach out to!!
Katie is the youngest of the Carlson siblings...she decides to do something completely out of character and have a one-night stand with a mysterious Scotsman.
Drew is instantly attracted to Katie...and that's before they even speak. The next thing he knows Katie is taking control and asking him back to her room. Their attraction and chemistry is explosive. Cate really dives right into the spice! But then Drew finds out who Katie is...
Fate is not in favor of these two initially...due to certain events Drew and Katie end up going months without another run in, but Drew is determined to rectify that.
Cate is the master at giving little Easter eggs for the next book in the series throughout the book vs. right at the end...and I absolutely adore that. I feel like I've been deeply invested in the Carlson siblings love lives since day one.
I really enjoyed this book, it’s written with such detail and emotion. Loved the will they /won’t they journey, those seriously hot AF steamy scenes were spectacular. The gruff Scot and the polished American equals an amazing storyline. Great to see the rest of the Carlson family throughout, especially the hints about Logan - can’t wait to see what happens there. I honestly fell for these character - Drew with his gruff, antisocial self, including his recovery from that horrific accident. Then there’s Kate, who has her hear on her sleeve, or maybe another body part whenever it comes to Drew. Their chemistry is off the charts. This book was beautifully written, loved every minute and can’t wait to read more from this author in the very near future.
This is the second book in this series, and the first that I have read from this author. Katie and Drew shared a spicy one-night stand two months previously, with neither knowing the identity of the other. Now Katie is head of the London Carlson publishing house, and Drew is a temperamental author. This is a good story which has off the chart’s chemistry, humor, intrigue, and is an enjoyable page turner. The only downside, and this is my opinion only, is that Katie came across as a tad immature, and too needy, which annoyed me a bit. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
This is the first book I read from this author and I'd certainly be interested in reading more. I love the billionaire trope and I loved the MMC - Drew. I felt sorry for all he went through. I honestly struggled with Katie though as her actions did not match her words. So much could have been avoided on her part with a simple conversation that never really happened. She kept on pushing him away or avoiding Drew. To me, that got old. I thought Drew was much more mature than Katie was. I received an ARC copy.
This is the second book in this series and is about Katie and Drew. Katie and Drew shared a spicy one-night stand two months previously, with neither knowing the identity of the other. Fast forward, Katie is the boss of a publishing company and Drew is a pain the butt author signing with her company. Filled with chemistry, hotness, humor and steamyness. I really enjoying this and reccomend this book.
🌶🌶🌶🌶 One Night Stand Forbidden Workplace Romance Ex Military
This is a great reminder to live life to the fullest. We are not promised tomorrow. What started as a one night stand turned into so much more. It triggered events that would shape their relationship and personal lives.
Katie had a lot of hurt to get over & Drew had a lot of healing both physically & mentally he needed to do. But they both knew the other was important and neither wanted the other to stay away.
When you run out on a one night stand after clocking her ID. Just so happens the girl you can't resist is your new boss! Now you need to fix the damage your running away made.
Can be read as a standalone but I prefer to read in order getting a more detailed back story & keeping an eye on the Carlson siblings as you go. Drews strong Scottish dialogue really makes you hear his accent just from his words.
The timeline confuses me. In chapter 1, Katie says it was 5 months ago when she and Drew hooked up; then, when they meet again, she mentions it was 2 months ago, and Drew says his accident was 2 months ago. He can barely walk and thinks a repeat of their one night stand would be a good idea. Then he takes charge and orders her to strip. So much for character development. I can't read more of this author's superficial writing. DNF.
This is a spicy romantic comedy with a buttload of tropes! Miscommunication between two different types of personalities is what sets this romance apart and I can definitely see where the relationship was headed.
It felt a little rushed at some points and I did feel like the ending was a little cliche but that doesn’t take away from the witty banter, the twists and the charming spicy scenes.
This was a decent read as publisher Katie deals with her attraction to her one night stand turned star author Drew. In a definite flip from the norm, it is the heroine who comes from extreme wealth, though that was not a central issue to the story. I had not read the preceding story but it was not necessary to enjoy this one.
Eluding the Billionaire, the second book in The Carlson series by Cate Lane, takes the reader on a very unusual journey. The tug-a-war romance between Drew and Katie keeps the reader in limbo throughout the whole story. Be sure to indulge in this challenging turmoil.
I loved the story of Drew and Katie. Their struggles and misunderstandings were so real. I swear I could hear his Scottish accent. The feeling of emotion is enough to make you laugh and cry.
I liked that Katie was the billionaire, a reversal from the usual having the hero as the one with all the money. I liked her and Drew together. I liked the English setting, especially Cornwall.
