Enslaved to the alien gladiators. Trapped on a harsh alien moon. Stranded with an alien warrior who may be as dangerous as my former captors.

All I know about the Taori warrior who saves me during an escape attempt and the ensuing battle is that he’s huge and horned. When he drags me from the carnage and deeper onto the barren moon, I’m grateful for his protection -- even if he does eye me like I’m the last drop of water in the desert.

When he confesses that he’s slowly being consumed by an ancient curse on his people -- a mating fever with only one cure -- I don’t want to believe him. Especially when being around him provokes desires I’ve never experienced before. Desires that feel like they’re devouring my inhibitions. Can we evade the aliens hunting us and escape the deadly moon before we’re both cursed?

"Storm" is a full-length sci-fi romance novel with an HEA and no cheating. It features hot scenes on a battle moon, violent alien battles, and some seriously steamy mating fever scenes.

If you like alien abduction romance (as well as dominant and dangerous alien warriors with horns, tails, and bonus parts), you’ll love "STORM", the fifth book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance series,
The Sky Clan of the Taori. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the series is better when read in order.

I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.

I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!

Narration type: Dual Narration

🛡️ Audiobook Review: Storm

Genre: Sci-fi Romance | Narrators: Aubrey Vincent and Marcio Catalano
Series: Sky Clan of the Taori, Book 5

👽 Hero Spotlight: Kaos

Kaos is a battle-scarred warrior of the Taori, a race dubbed “immortal” not for their invincibility, but for their sheer numbers and relentless resilience. After centuries aboard a skyship locked in interstellar warfare, Kaos and his crew are hurled 500 years into the future via a wormhole—only to be ambushed by the Xulonians, a decadent alien race whose three moons serve as playgrounds of cruelty: one for pleasure, one for bloodsport, and one for the hunt. Kaos is captured and sent to the arena moon, where he escapes with his captain. But fate intervenes—he and a female prisoner are thrown from the ship mid-flight, landing in the scorching desert sands of the battle moon.

🦸🏼‍♀️ Heroine Spotlight: Kensie

Kensie has survived years of servitude on the arena moon, forced to wear a lethal shock collar and cater to gladiators until their inevitable deaths. Hardened by loss—especially the death of a human lover who couldn’t survive the brutal alien combat—she’s vowed never to love again. But when she and Kaos find themselves stranded and hunted, her survival instincts clash with the slow-burning trust she begins to feel for the brooding warrior at her side.

🔥 Plot Pulse

Kaos is deep in the throes of mating heat, a biological torment he’s determined to resist. Betrayed by a former mate who chose his own Taori brother, Kaos has sworn off love. But isolation, danger, and Kensie’s quiet strength chip away at his defenses. Their chemistry simmers beneath the surface, and when Kensie offers to help ease his pain, it’s not just physical relief—it’s emotional healing. Their bond is forged in fire, trust, and the shared ache of past wounds.

💘 What Hit Home

• Tana Stone’s alien world-building is wildly imaginative and emotionally rich.
• The Taori’s “immortality” is a clever twist—more myth than magic, rooted in their overwhelming numbers.
• Loved the crossover with Vander warriors! It added depth and continuity to the universe.

😬 Room to Grow

• The political intrigue surrounding the Xulonian moons was compelling, but at times the strategy-heavy scenes slowed the emotional momentum. I craved more action and rebellion, less tactical chatter.

🎧 Narration Vibes

Dual narration brings this story to life.

• Marcio Catalano nails Kaos’s gravitas—his voice is deep, commanding, and emotionally grounded. His character work is seamless.
• Aubrey Vincent delivers expressive, emotionally resonant narration, though her portrayal of Kensie occasionally felt too aloof for such a vulnerable, layered heroine.

📝 Final Thoughts

Kaos is a gritty, sensual, and emotionally charged sci-fi romance that blends survival stakes with slow-burn intimacy. If you love tortured heroes, fierce heroines, and alien worlds that feel both brutal and beautiful, this one’s worth the listen.

I have been on a Sci Fi binge and at the moment that is Tana Stone's work. Each series I have read get better and better. I love that anything goes when reading sci fi and that is what Tana gives readers. The Sky Clan of the Taori is a steamy sci fi romance series as are her other series. We met the Taori briefly in another of her series. In this book, the Taori hot and sexy alpha alien men travelling across galaxies to fight an evil that has been around for hundreds of years. However, they are pulled in time and place hundreds of years in the future. What they find is others in need of help or they die. I really like Tana's writing and her characters are totally believable. There is fun, action and so much more between the pages.
If you are a lover of sci fi with sexy aliens and hot romance you will love Tana's work.

Great ending to the Taori Warriors series, but I’m abit sad to see them go. I had jumped ahead and had already read Raas Ronan’s story, in the Vandar series, not realising he makes his first appearance in this book.

The Sky Clan of the Taori is an alien romance series that follows the immortal army of Taori. A Taori is an alien species plagued with a mating fever called the Quaibyn that takes place every 10 years. If the fever goes unquenched, the Taori goes insane, becoming Sythians, which are dragon-like creatures and the very plaque that the brothers of the sky clan are hunting. The Taori are horned aliens with the skin tone of humans, but covered in dark tribal-like tattoos that detail their destinies. They have dark hair, colored eyes, ram-like horns and tails. The sky clan winds up flying through a time portal in space that puts them five hundred years into the future in Earth’s galaxy. Their ship is attacked and blown from the sky by a species called the Xulonians. The Xulonians are a weak, paranoid species that avoids interaction with other species, secluding themselves to their dying planet. They mined their own planet until it became unable to sustain a pleasant life, and the wealthiest of their species escape by the means of entertainment. Most of the Taori boarded escape pods and fled the destruction of their ship, landing on Xulon's Moorla moons, which were pleasure moons for the purpose of entertainment. During this futuristic timeline, Hettite slavers overtook an Empire ship that held several humans, most scientists, killing all the men and taking the women hostage. The Hettite sold the female humans to the Xulonians, who placed the humans onto their Moorla moons. This series covers the survival of these female humans and male Taoris as they fight for survival on these moons.

Written in first person, Storm is book five (and I believe final) of the series, and follows a Taori alien named Kaos who was kalesh Naz's first officer for the Taori Sky Clan and his human counterpart Kensie, both of which ended up on the combat Moorla moon, where the Xulonians paid to watch and place bets in gladiator events. Kaos had just been captured and hadn't yet fought in the games when we first met him in book 4, before Naz helped everyone escape. Kensie was one of the female servants/slaves that were provided to the winners, who we were also introduced to in book 4.

The first two books involved the main characters running for their lives on the hunting moon and in effect, having to kill their pursuers. The third book had very little killing. I think only one Xulonian was killed at the end. That book involved the main couple participating in a sex driven competition amongst other players, which was held in a sexual atmosphere while a Taori was fighting his Quaibyn. This book, along with book 4 was set on a gladiator fighting moon.

Kensie had slipped and fell from the escape shuttle at the end of book 4 and Kaos had dove after her. This book picked up where that one left off. The two fight to survive the unforgiving desert all while waiting for Naz to rescue them, and while Kaos fought his mating fever. Surprisingly, it wasn't Naz that came to their rescue, but Raas Ronan of the Vandar. Ronan offered his assistance in battling the Xulonians. (Read "Prodigal" of the Vandar series to follow his story after they leave the Taori.)

Kaos and Kensie develop a strong bond and feelings for each other along the journey, ultimately falling in love. The romance scenes were every bit the fire one would hope for. First intercourse took place in chapter 26 at the 57% mark. I am a personal believer that anything after the 47% point is dangling the cheese for so long that it molds. I've had a difficult time visualizing the author's description of the Taori cock. It's described as a "huge cock with three heads." Wtf does that even mean? 🤨 What I've finally come up with is imagining three different sized umbrellas (or maybe mushrooms?) with thick handles (or stems) stacked on top of each other. The widest mushroom is on the bottom (at the base closest to the balls) with a thinner one in the middle and an even skinnier on top. The handles/stems create the shaft and each crown creates a ridged separation connecting into the next stem. It's not quite the sex toy with 3 different sized balls on a singular base, but it's close. What I especially love about sex with the Taori is the "mating clench." Their cocks swell, locking (or knotting) the couple together. So you better like the alien you're fucking, because you are going to be stuck together for a while. Lol

Both parties fought the bond because they were both hurt in the past. Kaos's mate had betrayed him for his brother and Kensie grew attached to a human fighter that died in the games.

I recommend the read, if this is your cup of tea. It’s the perfect book length; not too long, not too short, but juuuuust right. It could use a bit more bow-chick-a-wow-wow in my personal opinion. Since the Taori have officially returned to their own timeline at the end, it's probably safe to say that this series is finished. I'm kinda happy because this story had become somewhat boring. I think even the author grew tired of it by the end because her writing lacked conviction. I have a hard time getting into dramatic books where the main characters fight their feelings and create unnecessary conflict. I look forward to whatever TANA STONE has in store for us next. 🫶

🖤 “My soul has always been yours, and it will remain yours until it crosses into the shadowland.”
~~~
At a young age, Kensie’s been taken by the Xulonians and has spent a long time on their battle moon, taking care of the alien fighters in the arena. Despite everything she’s been through, she’s such a brave, strong and compassionate woman. Even more, I loved her feistiness and courage. Kensie is such a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
Kaos is the First Officer to Kalesh Naz of the Taori and one phenomenal male! He’s huge, gorgeous, fiercely protective and incredibly honorable and loyal. Even more, he’s so intense, bossy, possessive, dominant and dangerous. I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about this fearsome warrior!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Kensie and Kaos! They’re rescued from the Xulonian recreational moon only to find themselves stranded on it again. Not only did they have to survive on the moon and avoid the guards, but they also had to deal with Kaos’ mating fever. Oh, the tension between those two! Their attraction was strong right from the start, but both have lost people they’ve cared about and one was betrayed, so neither was willing to risk their heart again. Nevertheless, I adored Kaos and Kensie together! And when they couldn’t keep their hands off each other anymore, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot! Oh, those Taori warriors are absolutely panty-melting and so deliciously dominant and naughty!
In addition, the storyline was spectacular! We get to go on a wild adventure through the deserts and high mountains of the Xulonian battle moon and face giant monsters. Even more, the Taori are back together, and with an unexpected new alliance, they might finally deal with the xenophobic aliens for good.
Overall, Storm is an outstanding addition to the series and a phenomenal series finale! It’s filled with suspense, danger, adventure, action, drama, twists, violence, blazing hot romance and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and devoured and absolutely loved every page of it!
This was a sci-fi alien warrior romance.
This is a bittersweet review as this is the final book in the Taori series. The author is my favorite sci-fi author and I know she will create new and fascinating worlds, but the Taori warriors were my favorites. The struggle between their honor and the primal driving need of the Quaibyn was something you could really feel.
Kensie was a human captive of the Xulonian on the battle moon. She had her heart broken when she fell in love with a human fighter who was unalived in the arena. She is determined not to care for anyone like that again.
Kaos was Kalesh Naz's first officer in their sky ship. When the Xulon destroyed the Taori ship his escape pod landed in the desert of the battle moon and he was brought to the dungeon to be a fighter. He was also betrayed by someone he loved and has dedicated his life to his mission.
When he and Naz freed the women captives and stole a ship, Kensie fell out of the ship before the ramp could be raised so he jumped out to try to save her. They had to walk across the desert to get to the mountain range while looking for shelter. Kaos knows Naz will be back for them and will look for them at the highest point in the area. As they walked across the burning sand they fell into a chamber beneath riddled with tunnels. Turns out it was actually a sand monster they were in and it sneezed them back out onto the sand. As they climb into the mountains Kaos slips and they land in a pool of water. They are found by Kaas Ronnan the Vandar leader sent by Naz to retrieve them. Once they are brought onboard the Vandar ship, they attack the Xulon security, infrastructure and moons. Due to their mutual fear of getting hurt they almost blow their chance at a HEA. They realize their feelings, are able get back to their own time and have their HEA.
I just want to say that getting stranded with a sexy guy built like an Adonis that has no problem with nudity and going through the mating fever with him really would not be a hardship, some girls have all the luck. Not me obviously, but she sure does. Lucky girl.
So this is the final book in this series…I know (sobs). This is the 2nd series finale book I’ve read this week, so I have had to say goodbye to 2 sets of family, my heart. But, but, but, in this series we get to meet a sexy blonde Vandar that already has his own book…so that makes my heart happy.
As always this was a fantastic read, the whole series is one of my favorites, actually anything by Tana Stone is one of my favorites. I am a super fan for sure. Great storyline, it was fast paced from the first page all the way through. It was a great series finale, she nailed it, it was the perfect finale for an endearing group of people that won our hearts in her Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors series. We get to see our favorites from this series, and gained some new favorites…that will have their own series. I love this world that she has created, and who knows maybe we will see the Taori again (subtlety really is my middle name *winks*), because she intertwines her series frequently, and that’s one thing that I really love about her books, you just never know who’s going to show up. Thank you Tana Stone for adding these wonderful people to your wonderful world that I love to get lost in, they will be missed.
An exciting full bodied read with great characters and plot and a wonderful ending for this series
This is an environment where life is hard and short lived, trapped on a harsh alien world where alien gladiators may have become as dangerous as those that originally held them captive prior to escape and freedom of sorts.
Taori warrior who had saved her during an escape attempt has kept her safe and protected her from the elements and inhabitants and she is scared but grateful. She is able to feel there is an attraction between them but the priority is to survive on this hostile moon.
He explains about the ancient curse that brings about a mating fever which if not provokes a desire impossible to control and she finds as time passes her own feelings and desires are changing and she wants him as well.
They have to survive the aliens that are hunting them endlessly and survive the lack of food and water and the growing mating fever.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Hot, suspenseful and captivating alien romance
I loved Kaos and Kensie’s alien-human romantic suspense tale. It was definitely a cannot put it down kind of book. The story was well written and included good world building, witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. Kensie is a human woman whose transport ship was attacked and taken by slavers. She was brought to the battle entertainment moon around the planet Xulan to serve as an attendant to the arena fighters. Kaos is a Taori warrior whose spaceship goes through a temporal wormhole and ends up in Xulan airspace where they are promptly attacked. His escape pod ends up on the same entertainment moon as Kensie. They were escaping from the moon with one of his teammates when they fell off the ship together into the desert of the plan. Unfortunately, Kaos is gripped with mating fever so he needs to save Kensie from the planet, the hostile aliens, and himself. The story includes all the goodness that you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, evil actors, loyal friends, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, mystery, plot twists, and laughs.
a wonderful conclusion to the Taori series I'm so sad to see it ending. The taori meet up with the kyrie vandar to affect a rescue of the taori first officer who jumped out of the rescue ship when Kensie fell off the ramp. This book has tons of excitement and drama involving two ppl who have been hurt in love in the past and are determined never to let love enter their hearts and hurt them again. But fate has other plans. In the meantime a lack of communication, insecurity and past hurt means they don't know where they stand with each other after being rescued from the alien planet.
great richly detailed well developed characters, excellent world building and a story line that will hold u enthralled to the last page.
while i would have liked to seen a more detailed ending this was an excellent ending to a truly wonderful series which is a must read. The story has u cheering for those involved to work things out and its great to see other characters from past stories make an appearance as well.
I hope there will be a small epilogue book put out to round out the ending a bit better.
I received an arc copy and this is my honest voluntary review.
The series was good enough to read all 5. And seeing as though I DNF most books, it's saying something. However, I have several main problems with this book/series. 1. What happened to Jasmine?? They were worried about her, but there wasn't a book about her. Yes, she could've been saved, but she wasn't mentioned at all! Even in a "I really wish we found her", or "it's so sad we only found her body" or "I'm so glad we rescued jasmine" way. 2. The vandar we meet are not the vandar from the next series. I wanted to read about them, even if they are a future book. 3. It went way too fast at the end. It was just straight dialog, missing certain events or jumping over them and then telling us about them. There were no more descriptions. 4. They imply that the girls from the future know what happened to the Taori of the past. They implied it was something bad. I know in one book, one guy said he didn't want to know, but I did! Why couldn't she think it to herself!? 5. What happened with the sythian swarm? We never know anything. The books were fine enough. But they left so many unanswered questions.
This is a fantastic alien romance that I truly enjoyed. I had a hard time putting it down and I loved it. Kaos and Kenzi were a wonderful couple, their attraction to one another was strong from the beginning. They both had losses and one a betrayal they had to overcome so both weren’t willing to risk their hearts again. It’s writing and plot keeps you on the edge of your seat with danger, drama, suspense, adventure, action, twists, turns, hot alpha alien males, passion, romance and love. Their attraction, passion and need for one another makes them realize that their love for one another has already opened their hearts to one another. It’s a phenomenal addition to the series and one I’m so glad to have been able to read. It can be read as a standalone, but I love the entire series and highly recommend reading them.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
What a great story about the Taori warriors who were sucked into a wormhole and ended on the moons. This story is about First Officer Kaos a taori and Kensie a human. This is an action-filled, romantic story that was a delight to read. I loved the characters and their interactions, and the storyline was well written and so interesting I couldn't put it down. During the battle Kaos rescues one of the human females that's escaping on the sky ship when a guard aims to shoot at her, but the ship takes off leaving them. Kensie and Kaos are now trying to survive while Kaos is suffering under the mating fever and being hunted until their rescue. I volunteer to this adventurous romantic enjoyable read and review this copy I received from the author.
He squared his shoulders. “Into the valley of death ride the Ten Thousand.”
“We are the Taori,” his warriors chanted with him. “We are the Immortals.”
(Those lines get me every. single. time.)
From falling off a transport ship to falling into a sand creature's belly... to falling in love...Kaos and Kensie's fate was written in the stars. I'm so glad their story dropped in my lap. This was a satisfying, quick read that had me out of my world for an afternoon.
Quote:
*** Then I thought about Raas Ronnan’s request that he be brought to him. I might have sworn off forming an attachment to another female, but that didn’t mean I would stand by and let Kensie be claimed by another. The idea of the Vandar’s hands on her made me want to put my fist through a wall. That was not happening.
I Want More
I guess this is the last story of the Taori. But authors find a way to bring characters back.
I really enjoyed this story. Kaos and Kensie have managed to escape with the rest of the women and his Kalesh, but a mishap causes them to fall from the Xulonian ship they were leaving on.
So now they're on the desert moon and have to figure out how they're going to survive the deadly terrain. Plus, Kaos is still dealing with the Quaibyn mating fever.
I like the variety of settings in the story. The danger and adventure are always exciting in this series. I hope that we'll see more of Tana's aliens in the future.
I can't wait for PAWN in the Barbarians of the Sand Planet series coming out this year.
What can I say? I loved the last book in The Sky Clan of the Taori series. This story tells Kaos and Kenzi‘s dealings with the horrible red aliens and their enjoyment of using real people in their games. This book was so exciting that I couldn’t put it down until the last page. Tana Stone really knows how to tell a story and draws her audience in. There is a happily ever after for this couple, it was touch and go at one point in the story, but eventually they built trust again. This book can be read individually, but you can follow the story better if you have read previous books in the series.
I was given a copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
What a story, from being spat out by a humongous sand monster to being rescued by the Vandar (who were in league with the Taori), this story is just so captivating that it’s difficult to put down. Kaos and Kensie are rescued from the battle moon only to find themselves stranded on the same moon. It’s a fight for survival and the attraction between the pair of them soon grows and has to be acted on. As always, the path to true love never runs smoothly. Fantastic story, thoroughly enjoyed it.
I received an ARC and these are my opinions.
Another fantastic book by Tana Stone. I couldn't put the book down until the last page was read. Kaos and Kenzi a perfect for each other. Kaos and Kenzi both had loses in their lives and one had a betrayal. There is plenty of danger, action, suspense, drama, twists, adventure, hot aliens, passion, romance, and love. Loved the storyline and reading about others from this series and we met a few more now ones. I loved this book and the series. I'm so glad that I got to read all of the stories.
I loved it…
The Sky Clan of the Taori are honorable, protective warriors fighting to reunite and return to their mission. First Officer Kaos and Kensie are accidentally left behind while escaping the battle moon with the other captives. They have more in common than either would like to admit but everything is happening so quickly they may never get the opportunity to tell the other… I received a free copy of this book. Just when you think you have been rescued the unexpected happens and you're back at the last place you'd want to be.
Kensie and Kaos adventure leads them to some self awareness and discovery. Both have loved and lost and one of them betrayed in the worst way. However their need to survive takes precedence over any lurking mating fever or desires which may or may not exist.
Lots of action and kick ass scenes where revenge is the ultimate satisfying goal.
Fevered and Freed
An action packed ending to an exciting series I’ve followed from the beginning. I loved the action, the world building and all of the characters being reunited for this strike at the crazy, xenophobic Xulons. Kaos and his little mate were the icing on the cake as they navigated their way through his mating fever and realizing they were mates. Those Hittites showing up was a great touch, glad it worked out!
This story is just so sweet. Of course it has all the elements of a good story!! A good storyline, good characters and just so unbelievably imaginative surroundings, scenarios and aliens... with tail, without tail, with horns, with scales, with claws with... and whatnot. Totally out of the box thinking!!! Overall a very good SciFi and one I really enjoyed reading and can very happily give fabulous four stars.
This is a rip off. You are getting everything you already know from the other books repeated in this one. Boring, because it repeats what we already know , and the " love story " is short and unreal. I skipped over most of the old stuff.. and there was the end of the book so to say. Not worth buying. My opinion. I did not expected this from this Author. She could have put those 2s story in the last one and be done with it. Turning this into a book is rip off. Nothing else.
This is the final book in the Taori series, and I'm heartbroken.
Like all the previous books it can be read as a standalone, however greatly benefits from having read the other books and knowing the background.
This had a fantastic, imaginative storyline, great characters and plenty of action and romance. A fantastic end to a great series.
Kaos and Kensie story is amazing. They both have trust Issues but their connection is undeniable and as they try to escape the moons this gets more evidente and they can't deny anymore what they have. Fantastic as all the other books from this series. Can be read as a standalone but its better with the rest.
The final book of this series and what a way to go or maybe not ;) if we can keep seeing these guys in other stories.
Kensie and Kaos were wonderful characters and their story had suspense, adventure, mating fever, action, danger, twists, and scorching scenes.
I was given a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The fifth and last book in the Sky Clan of the Taori series, what an ending. Taori warrior Kaos and human Kensie's story is well written with suspense, drama, danger, villains and romance along with the ups and downs they went through. This is a series I want to read again. I would recommend. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love the romance, but it was only a small fraction of the story. My main issue with this book is that the wrap up of the overarching story felt very rushed. It was still good, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much. However, it felt like a bit of a letdown after the other 4 books. Still worth a read through though.
Such a great way to end a series!
This book had me laughing and crying. The sneeze scene had me rolling.
The Vandar were introduced but I've already read their stories. That's another gret series.
I'm going to miss the Taori and their mates. I think I may have read all of Tana Stone's series now so I'll have to wait until she releases her next great story.
