I should have known those words, whispered to my best friend’s brother, would come back to haunt me . . . But I had no idea he’d be the only one who could save me when my world threatens to come crashing down.
Becket Kingston is a lot of things. Tall, dark and deliciously handsome, he’s corded muscle hidden beneath an expensive suit, with eyes the color of an angry ocean, and a sharp tongue good for so many things.
And this future US Senator with a brain even bigger than his bank account is about to be my fake husband.
It was supposed to be easy . . . until it wasn’t. This relationship we carefully curated for the public has become something completely different behind closed doors—and the occasional open ones.
I knew we needed to lie to everyone we loved to pull this off. But how long can we lie to ourselves?
This is part of a series and I came in blind per se as I did not read previous books because apparently according to one reviewer, Hero in this story was mentioned in the other stories about his drama with his ex (OW). In this one, not much is mentioned about it which is both a relief & disappointing because I wanted to understand why he dated her for so long if he had no intention to marry her ever. And also what happened after he broke things off because it was sort of referred that there was some drama there with OW not taking the breakup so well…..
Anyhoo…. H & h have known each other for years as heroine is his sister’s BFF for a long, long time. Heroine (Juliette) is a former 28/29 year old Super Model who just retired. Her beloved cousin just died and left her 2 kids for her to raise – a 15 year old son (Easton) and 11 year old little girl (Kenzie).
Hero (Becket) I believe said was 35 or so and is running for US Senator seat. Nine months prior, he broke up with his ex GF whom he was in a relationship for over 5 years because he did not want to marry & have kids with her. He said that he didn’t want marriage & kids and all that came with it and when the OW pushed for the whole nine yards, he realized he did not love her and ended it.
Hero’s team tell him that he needs to marry in order to win the Senate seat and they want him to marry his ex. Heroine in turn learns that her cousin’s parents are suing her for custody of the kids – not because they want them or love them but because they want their shares in the family business. H & h agree to go into a fake marriage to help one another.
What I loved about this story is that in the first few chapters, I did not see much chemistry between the MCs – especially with Hero as he did not seem to notice or be attracted to heroine in the past or upon first meet in the present. He seemed to view her as a flake or something. However, once they moved in together they started getting to know one another and I loved that both protected & supported each other. In fact, they became an instant family of 4 (loved his relationships with the kids!) and while it was a slow burn romance, I appreciate it because author took the time to develop their relationship and form a strong bond and then include all the sexy fun times. They were really a great couple and I loved how Hero went from a grumpy asshole who was anti marriage/kids to a loving & supportive family man. ☺
I also enjoyed the family unity aspect of this story of how every member supported one another and that there was no angst or separations. There was a brief scene where the OW tries to come on to hero and bad-mouths heroine but heroine shuts it down and lets her have it! I loved this heroine once she came into her own. She was strong, smart, loyal, a good friend & loving aunt and didn’t take shit from anyone. I did want to see some jealousy though from both of them - especially from heroine who had an upfront seat before into his & OW relationship. Why wasn’t she jealous or curious to find out why he dated her for so long & why he broke things off?
I also don’t understand why he (and the rest of his family?) did not attend her cousin’s funeral to support her. Some things just didn’t add up but if you overlook them, it still was an enjoyable story and I for one am glad that for once Hero was not obsessed or hung up on an ex. Neither one was by the way but I liked the fact that for once an author made the heroine the main love of his life. He wanted marriage & kids and the whole nine yards with heroine only, whereas he did not want those things with the OW. Woohoo!
Safety:
No cheating No intimate scenes with OP No Manho Hero No OM & some brief OW drama as mentioned above. Hero is indifferent to OW and has no feelings for her. No virgins. Heroine said she had several relationships with men through the years – some of which were assholes but none that she ever fell in love with. HEA & Epilogue two years out married with kid.
“You’re going to have to train that man to be more romantic than that, Juliette. Passion isn’t always steeped in flowers and candy. It starts in the everyday little things you do for each other. Does he open doors for you? Does he know how you take your coffee? Does he make sure you come first?” “Oh, God. Please stop.” She doesn’t even acknowledge my words. “Does he propose after you’ve spent the week grieving? Because that’s just selfish. And a selfish man is not a good lover. And a marriage is pointless without passion and good sex. Remember that. Don’t settle for either or. Demand both.” “Passion, my darling girl, is everything. How have you kept this hidden from me? Now, tell me about the sex. How are his oral skills?”
I think I just died a little.
--- Nine months ago, I was fresh from my breakup with Kendall, a woman I’d spent years with but never wanted to marry. When she mentioned kids, I couldn’t have bolted faster. It wasn’t what we were, or what we were ever supposed to be. At that moment, I knew I didn’t love her and probably never had.
And how the fuck did I go from that to this?
On the verge of marrying this woman I’ve known half my life.
A woman who comes with two kids and a fuck-ton of baggage.
Enough baggage to rival my own.
A woman I have no intention of falling in love with.
Problem is, I’m not so sure I have a choice.
---- “Oh, cupcake . . .”
“It’s too early for cupcakes,” I groan. “Cupcake me after I’ve had my coffee, Charming.”
“Don’t forget, I want to feel special, cupcake. You better remember the woo.”
“Oh, Charming . . . I won’t have to worry about the woo. You’re meeting me, remember? Be there by four this afternoon, and you can make sure you’re sufficiently wooed.”
Becket takes a forkful of the pink confection and lifts it to my mouth. “Come on, cupcake. It’s strawberry.”
I close my lips around the tines and moan. “Oh my God, this is good.”
Becks eyes glaze over as he leans into me and whispers, “I need you to make that sound again, Juliette.”
I press my lips together and pick up a strawberry from the plate, then bite into it and watch my fiancé as I do it.
“Don’t tease me, Jules,” Becks warns.
I look around the room to see if we’re still alone and whisper, “Or what, Charming?”
That’s when Ashlyn and Joselyn bring in the florist to finalize the floral arrangements and centerpieces. They wheel out a small trolley full of options, and I look from Becket back to them. “Hey, Charming, have you been wooed enough yet?”
---- “Are you even listening to me, Juliette?”
“Honestly, Mom . . . not really. Cora’s pissed, and she’s going to stay pissed. Hopefully, she’s going to be more pissed when she loses the case. Right now, I’m more worried about whether I look appropriate for a hopefully future senator’s soon-to-be wife.”
“Seriously, Juliette. Slap on some pearls, and you’re good to go. Just walk like you’ve got a stick up your ass instead of like you’re going to screw some guy at the end of a runway.”
“Goodbye, Mother.”
“You’ve got to loosen up, Jules. I love you, honey.”
“Love you too, Mom.”
---- “Give you away?” Easton shakes his head, looking so much older than fifteen. “You and Mom are the two strongest women I know.” He shrugs out of her hold. “You don’t need anybody to do anything. You never have.”
“Maybe not, but choosing to have somebody by your side doesn’t mean you’re not strong. The right person makes you stronger. And I’d really like it if you’d walk with me.”
“Okay, but I’m not giving you to Becket. He’s going to have to settle for sharing you with Kenz and me.”
Jules wipes at her eyes, then kisses Easton’s cheek. “Love you, E.”
Yet again, I’m impressed by this kid.
And I’m kinda glad I’m going to get to play a part in him becoming a man.
--- “I need you to not give up on me. I’m not good at this. But you make me want to be better. That’s not something I’ve ever wanted before. I want to be the man you deserve. I want to be your man. Because I swear to God, Jules, I meant it when I said you’re mine. You’re it. I know it in my heart.” He picks up my hand and places it on his heart. “That’s yours. You feel it beating? It’s fucking beating for you, wife.”
Overruled begins with Becket (H) on a family trip with his younger sister's best friend, Juliette (h), also joining them. There's a bit of chemistry and tension, sharing of a bed (just for sleeping), and a touch of drama with a semi-walk of shame in the morning. But even though these two have known each other for years (since Juliette was around 10 and Becket around 16), there's never been a whiff of romance. Attraction, sure, because they're both beautiful people, but thankfully no pining. Even though this is the fourth book, it reads fine as a standalone. Becket has a huge family and most have already had their books, but I've only read one of the previous stories and wasn't lost.
Jump forward two weeks and each finds out on the same day that being married would be beneficial to them. Juliette because she's just been named guardian of her cousin's children, but their grandparents will fight her for custody. Becket because he's running for Senate and voters would appreciate a settled/family man type candidate. Thus a fake relationship/marriage of convenience agreement is born. The rest of the story is character-driven and focused on their relationship building while each is hoping to be successful in their goals. Written in first person, dual POV. No om job, very tiny ow drama with an ex of the H's making a scene and the h verbally smacking her down, and neither are virgins (but both appeared to have been choosy with relationships).
I really liked both Juliette and Becket and that they had memories and history together because of all the times they were in each other's orbit. I loved when both interacted with the kids and how each was determined to be active and involved, but also trying to figure out what being instant parents for older children meant. Besides, also trying to adjust to living with each other all of a sudden. I did feel like a little bit of their individual personalities depended too heavily on their current situations and less on what their likes and interests were, if that makes any sense. The shift to attraction taking over and their relationship feeling more real does happen fairly quickly, although still comes with a bit of attached angst (though not too much). Steamy times are explicit and there are several of them, including a semi-public one where she has to be quiet. They don't discuss protection until after a couple of times and then, it's not addressed explicitly.
I loved Becket's family and Juliette's parents. They provided some humor and a nice break at times. Juliette also builds on a new friendship from within Becket's family that was sweet. The children made for solid side characters and weren't just 2D figures used for plot purposes. The oldest actually had more page time than I wanted honestly, but it appears that he's going to be in a second generation book so there's a bit of a purposeful setup there I'm sure. The uncle and aunt who are suing for custody were frustrating and very suspect, they thankfully not only get blocked from what they're trying to do, but also have zero leverage to try and still benefit.
Writing-wise, a few errors popped up now and then and I did have trouble picturing a couple of scenes because of the descriptions. Overall though the writing and pacing are pretty smooth and the story didn't drag for me. I have a bit of a hard time loving this author's books for some reason, something always seems to hold me back from completely escaping in them but I can never quite put my finger on why either.
The book does end with a HEA with resolutions to the custody issue and the Senate race. The Senate results was an esp sweet scene. The epilogue has a leap forward of two years on an important night for their family and has a last bit of steam along with some cuteness, very much a HEA.
Book info: - Marriage of convenience - Best friend's brother - Loss of love one - Mention of child abuse - Found family - HEA - No cheating, third act breakup - Non-virgin MCs
Notes: - The H's ex made an appearance but Becks isn't interested and Jules put her in place. 😎
This is soooo good, I love Becks and Jules relationship. The tension? Palpable. Chemistry? Off the charts? Spicy scenes? Waaaaay too hot; it had me bothered and sweating while reading. 🥵 These two are my favorite couple in this series; they're so perfect for one another, and I just looooove them. 🥰
So, they've known each other ever since because Jules is the best friend of Becket's younger sister. But they didn't really get involved because Jules is a model and is always in a different country, and Becks is busy with their family company.
Jules' cousin died, and based on her will, she assigned the guardianship of her two children to Jules. She doesn't have a single clue how to take care of anything or anyone else, but Jules loved her cousin, and she couldn't fail her, so she accepted this task with great honor and love. But her aunt (children's grandma) is contesting custody and wants to take the kids (she has evil motives). When Jules talked to her lawyer about her custody chance, he said she needed to prove that she could handle this responsibility, but her single status wasn't helping her case.
Then we have Becket, who's running for the senatorial candidacy. He's one of the two candidates for the senatorial position, and his opponent is winning over him only because he's a family man (married and with kids). Becks is also single after breaking up with his longtime girlfriend of five years, nine months ago. His advisor told him to fix his single status and even advised him to get back with his ex (which would only happen when hell freezes over)
Coincidentally, Jules and Becks received the bad implications of their singledom on the same day, and it just so happens that the bar where Jules is drinking her sorrows is where Becks is supposed to meet his advisor. He offered to drive her back to her hotel, and this is where Jules made her proposition about the marriage of convenience. Becks was kind of hesitant about this idea, but then he realized he needed it to win, so he eventually agreed, and this is where the fun starts.
Maaaan, these two are so hot together!!! 🥵 The chemistry and sexual tension are so intense, and it really feels like sparks fly when they're in the same room. The pretense of their fake relationship didn't last for long. Something snapped, and when they finally gave in to the attraction, *sighs* it was all consuming and combustible. They can't stay away for far too long and can't keep their hands on one another.
I love the family dynamics in this story. How they openly and warmly accepted Jules, Easton, and Kenzie in their circle. I love the girl relationship and that there's no toxicity in every relationship presented. I love how Becks went from not being interested in marriage and children to becoming an overprotective father figure to the two kids and a doting husband to Jules. I love how he always puts her at ease and always makes her feel loved and cared for. I love my MMC to acknowledge when he's not good at something and to honestly tell this to his FMC. The mature conversations and heartwarming comfort between these two MCs are so adorable to read. They really have the most healthy and honest relationship I've read this year, and I'm here for all of it.
Overall, I looooove this book. I love the MCs, supporting characters, story flow, and just everything in this book. Why did it take me so long to finally read this, I'll never know 🤣 But at the end of the day, I'm just glad that I read it. Worth reading and recommending ❤️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the first book I read in the Defiant Kings series and I read this in less than a day!!! I will definitely be reading this entire series I love all the Kings. This was such a good time. Becket and Juliette are amazing together🔥🔥
I also love Easton and Kenzie and I’m so happy that the Kingstons welcomed them into their family, I love the relationship Becks has with both of them especially E❤️
Can’t wait for Ashlyn’s story!!!
I’m so excited for her newest series and to read more of Easton.
Thank you to Bella Matthews for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Oh how I love this series. Each sibling has such an incredible story and their whole family brings me so much comfort. I love their chaos and over the top love they have for eachother. This book gave us Becket and Jule's story. All I can say is these two were made for eachother. The Tropes in this book were some of the superior ones and the whole story was so wonderfully written. Jules went through a loss in her life that had her gain two important people under her care. She would do anything for those kids and since they became her priority since day one all she wanted was to have them forever. That's where Becket comes in and these two decide to fake marry for eachother's benefit caus he needs her as much as she does. Their chemistry was incredible and you could feel how much they wanted eachother. Easton and Kenzie were such wonderful characters and I loved how the four of them formed their perfect little family. The moments I read about Jules and Becket with the kids were so perfect and cute. The ending was so sweet and I loved how much love and support there was in that family.
Book by: Bella Matthews Tropes: • Best friend's brother • Found family • Forced proximity • Single parent/guardian • Opposites attract • Marriage of convenience
Ok, I have to be honest this was my least favorite book in the series. I was expecting way more info on Beckett and Kendall's relationship and breakup since it's been a hot topic in every book before this one. And I would have liked to get a more in-depth look at Beckett as a character. I feel like I know him the least out of all the Kingstons. Beckett and Juliette were just an odd couple for me and the book just didn't hook me like the other books in the series. Easton and Kenzie saved the book for me.
Somehow, Becket and Juliette have managed to knock down every other single couple for the top spot on my list. This Kingston took my breath away in so many ways that honestly, I just needed a fan next to me while I read this book.
This review is going to be different than my rest as you can read the blurb and it is written really well to get the general idea what this book is about. What I want to say is that Jules is amazing. She has been Lenny Kingston’s best friend since they were kids, and she has grown up around Becket and the rest of the Kingston family. When she decides to leave the job of modeling behind, a whole new life is thrown at her. The thing is, Jules takes it on and doesn’t even think twice about it. She is strong and classy and of course has some great sass as well. Becks is the lawyer of the family and works for the family corporation, but has thrown out caution and is working for something for him. He isn’t just a pretty face that uses his family name to get what he wants. This man wants to change the world and help make it better. These two are the power couple you see and want to spend time with. They have a strength to them that draws only the best people to them, and you expect to see them grace the magazine covers as the “it” couple of their time.
So, this book. It is amazing. We get some great banter, some great attitude and most importantly some even better fake dating that when the marriage happens you wonder when someone is going to admit fake was never really there. There might even be a few eggs that were planted for future books if I caught them right. Once again, another amazing book.
Beckett, I know I’ve said this with each of your brothers but you might just be my favourite Kingston….. don’t worry Sam, you’re technically not one so you don’t count on this occasion. I loved this story of a marriage of convenience between the last Kingston male standing and his sister’s bestie Juliette. Since a wife would help Beckett to win a Senate seat and Jules, desperate to keep her late cousin’s children out of the hands of their evil grandparents, needs some stability so they make a deal where they’ll both get what they want. With some sizzling chemistry, a genuine attraction and not forgetting forced proximity playing a part it’s not long before convenience becomes something more…... I loved their relationship, there was some fabulously flirty banter between them but more than that it was obvious they were long time friends and I loved the addition of the kids to the mix and how they dealt with the fifteen year old Easton, grieving his mum but trying to be a man and the preteen Kenzie, and, just saying, I can’t wait for Easton to grow up and get his own story hopefully heralding a series for the next generation. With the expected interference and texting from the siblings which always makes me chuckle, I loved how they instantly claimed Juliette and the kids as Kingstons and rallied round to protect them! One slight niggle, I would’ve liked more about Medusa considering Beckett did spend five years with her and especially since she’s been the running joke throughout this series albeit her appearances were only off-page although I did enjoy Jules putting her in her place in their one encounter.
I can always rely on one of Ms. Matthews' books to lift me up and Overruled does the trick. Her characters are so mesmerizing and charismatic and her stories are so realistic and heartfelt.
Overruled is told in first-person dual perspectives by Juliette "Jules" Fairchild, newly retired supermodel, and Becket "Becks" Kingston, attorney and future U.S. Senator. Jules is a woman fighting for guardianship of her deceased cousin's children and Becks is a candidate who needs an uptick in his numbers so the long-time friends agree on a "just-friends" marriage of convenience. What they didn't count on was their undeniable attraction to each other and the fabulous Kingston family force of nature cheering them on.
I have to admit Jules and Becks are my favorite couple in the series... so far. Jules is confident and independent and I love how she becomes a fierce mama bear to keep her cousin Liz's children safe. Her heart-to-heart talks with Easton and Kenzie made me tear up more than once. She is a natural as a mother. Then there is Becks. My heart! This man is swoon material. He is passionate about becoming a senator to create a better future for the younger generation. He doesn't hesitate to be a good father to the kids, and he's an attentive and responsible partner to Jules. The chemistry is sizzling between these two and their growing love for each other is enchanting to witness. Let's just say, I didn't want their story to end.
What really makes this series so endearing to me is the interaction between the Kingston family members. The love and support they have for each other is heartwarming and they will move heaven and earth to protect each other. The family text chain is a hoot and the gatherings are chaotic, hilarious, and loving.
From the beginning, this book grabbed my heart and never let go. Read this book. Better yet, read this series. It won't disappoint.
Thank you to Ms. Matthews for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
I have been reading about this exuberant crew from the first book and if you would’ve told me that Becket would be the Kingston brother to win my heart in the end, I would’ve rolled my eyes at you. But dang, the King has arrived!
Becket has finally kicked his loathsome girlfriend out of the picture and has switched his career path to politics. He is happy being single, but his campaign is pushing him to find a wife.
Juliette has recently moved back to Kroydon Hills after hanging up her modeling career, but tragedy strikes and she finds herself in a custody battle. In order to have sway in family court, she needs to find a husband. An idea sparks when she runs into Becket, her best friend’s brother.
Fate has a funny way of bringing the perfect people together in the craziest situations. There was no way they were fighting their chemistry for long, Jules and Becks were the best kind of firework. They complimented each other perfectly through the trials they endured during this transition in their lives and always came out stronger together. The true Kingston power couple, soulmates that just had to find their right time to shine.
And then to add Kenzie and Easton to this insta family, and I swooned hard! My heart went out to Easton as he struggles to remain a teenager but also feeling the need to be a man and protector. He was such a good big brother, but Becks was amazing with how he supported Easton and helped guide him.
I devoured this book! Every character, every event was well thought out and perfectly placed. I didn’t want it to end! But am glad we will get more of them when Easton gets his book in the future!
I always love being immersed in Bella’s worlds. I am so obsessed with the way she writes these characters who just keep on popping back up and getting to see some of our favorite characters. For me, I have always been a fan of Scarlet Kingston St James but now Juliette Kingston has fought her way into the top.
Becks & Jules are definitely a top favorite couple. They had so much chemistry but they also had a real friendship. There was actual bonding and getting to know each other aside from the sex. It’s a breath of fresh air when we get a hero who isn’t afraid of commitment. The more he was around Jules, the more he opened up to her and he gave her his whole heart. Even if he had a brief questionable moment.
Jules & Becks wedding brings all the Kingstons out to help them make this happen. And even more exciting is getting to see Sam being Sam and doing what he has to in order to help Jules with her custody battle. Becks… phew.. He sure does turn into a possessive man who is going to defend his woman. Becket brought all the “MY WIFE” vibes.
Jules' strength in this book blew me away. I think she is always underestimated because she has a pretty face and a model. But she is not someone to mess with, especially when it comes to those she loves. Jules is the one who will model during the day and “recite the periodic table before giving a blow job” by night. She fights like he|| for her niece & nephew, she will stand up to any of the Kingstons who doubt her, and will easily put Medusa in her place. Okay I am clearly in love with Juliette Kingston.
“Overruled” is the highly anticipated fourth book in Bella Matthews’ The Defiant Kings series, and it follows Becket Kingston and Juliette Fairbanks, his little sister’s best friend. Becket and Juliette’s story is an emotional and spicy marriage of convenience romance that will have you hooked from beginning to end!!! I’ve loved Becket Kingston for a long time now, and I’ve been waiting for his story to be told - and my gosh, it did NOT disappoint!!! Becket was super swoony; he definitely has a bit of an alpha streak, and that mouth of his was *chef’s kiss*
And don’t even get me started on how much I loved Juliette! She was strong, smart, and sassy, and I loved the way she stepped up for Easton and Kenzie after she became their legal guardian. Juliette has been through a lot, but her sunny personality continued to shine through, and I respected the fact that she wasn’t full of herself because she used to be a famous model. Juliette also knows her worth, which I think is so important for women everywhere. The scorching hot chemistry between Becket and Juliette was so incredibly obvious, and I loved their banter. This was definitely a 5 star read for me!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC and it was amazing!
I devoured this book in less than a day! Wow! This book had me laughing, happy, sad, angry, giddy, etc.! Just all the emotions! Becket and Juliette are amazing together. The beginning of it threw me for a loop and was so sad. Easton and Kenzie though… I just wanted to hug them. I was so happy that the Kingstons welcomed them into their family, but what else could I expect they are amazing! The romance was top tear and the spice hit at the perfect time! Can I have one Becket Kingston please? There were so my lol moments like the spouse group chat or the closet space comment from Jules! I don’t want to spoil anything but this is a must read! Like literally stop what you are doing and read this! This book also had some of my favorite tropes, Fake Relationship Forced Proximity One Bed Best Friend’s Brother Marriage of Convenience Found Family I cannot wait for the next book! Also the next generation series! I am so excited! Again this book was so great!
I am not a fan of this author's previous work, especially for this series, but my friend Paula recommended it and I’m glad I gave it a shot because it was surprisingly enjoyable.
The trick though is to go in without reading the other sibling's stories because those of us who did, the Hero here was mentioned in all of them and Heroine in one of the sister’s books and neither had impressed me.
So those past scenes in the other books was on the back of my mind when reading this one which kind of ruined it a little bit but not enough that I didn't overall enjoy it.
Lesson learned though that this will be my last read by this author. So I recommend it if you are a safe reader like me to read as a stand-alone and not have it being ruined
Let me preface this by saying that up until this book, I was rooting for someone completely different for Becks because of their side chemistry in past books. When I am one to admit when I was wrong and Bella Matthews gave us an amazingly beautiful story between Becket and Juliette. Things to look for in this book:
Marriage of convenience ✔️ Best friends brother ✔️ Forced proximity ✔️ Tragic circumstances ✔️ Opposites attract ✔️ No third act breakup ✔️
Juliette has been a part of the Kingston clan for as long as she can remembering since she was Lenny’s best friend. But she has never looked at Becket Kingston any differently. Until one day they both find themselves needing to get married and why not do so by helping each other out?
Becket was in a long term relationship for years that his family hated. They ended up breaking up when Becks refused to get married and have kids. So what does he do with Jules? Gets married and becomes the pseudo guardian of two children.
Jules and Becket’s chemistry from the moment they agreed to this fake marriage was explosive. I loved the push and pull between these characters and you knew that they wouldn’t last long without getting together.
Aside from the relationship, both characters are dealing with huge things in their lives. Becket is running for senate and Jules has retired from modeling and is now raising her cousins two children. The coming together of these characters was great and they bonds that they were forming with each other and the kids showed how they could be a complete family together.
Both characters showed so much strength battling everything against them and they proved that they could come out stronger together in the end. Their individual relationships with the kids were great - especially Becks and Easton.
Next we get Ashlyn’s book and her MMC is revealed at the end of this book and I’m so excited.
There is also another book that is announced for her newest series and I am over here losing my s*** over it. I cannot wait!!!
"I've never told anyone outside my family that I love them, Jules. I honestly didn't know what it felt like to love someone else until tonight. I was going to stay in the city, but you were like a beacon, pulling me home. The idea of being away from you I couldn't do it. I wanted to be here. Needed to be here.
Well hot dannggggg! 🔥 Beckett Kingston stole my heart and before I knew it took the top spot of the Kingston men.
Beckett never wanted a family or kids for that matter. The political candidate had one goal in mind. US Senate. But a small hiccup has him wondering if he has done enough.
Juliette is a former model that has always been a bit of a nomad. Never really settling down and never saw herself getting married. But when tragedy strikes close to home for her she needs someone to help.
Becks and Jules were AMAZING! The secrets, the marriage for convenience, the WHOLE book; it was just what I needed. I finished this book in less than 12 hours. Couldn’t put it down! I enjoy every single one of Bella’s books. I can not wait for Haven as well as the next generations series set to come out. Thank you Bella for this ARC. Highly recommend this book.
Move over every other Kingston because Becket is officially my favourite. That man takes the swoon factor to the next level.
I think this might be my favourite of Bellas books. It was so beautifully written that you can feel the emotions oozing from the pages.
Becket and Jules are thrust into a marriage of convenience that soon turns oh so real, and I was so happy for that change!!
The chemistry between these two was absolutely combustible from the beginning.
As always, the Kingstons are the absolute GOAT of all families, and it's always good to see what each of the other couples are up to.
Another absolutely perfect book from Bella with a hot as hell alpha man and a sassy takes no prisoners woman! I can't wait for the final book, but im also so sad for the end.
This story knocked my socks off and made my toes curl! I was not expecting to adore Beckett and Jules as much as I did. (I mean, I knew I was going to love them but this is well beyond that!) Juliette is a strong go-getter type of woman; when she knows what she wants she goes after it. Beckett is driven and the total hot, smart, protective package. They may start out as a marriage of convenience but once their eyes are opened to each other, things get hot quickly as they work towards their HEA. I was shocked at Beckett’s dirty talk, but don’t ask me why I was shocked because Bella’s men know how to talk dirty. I really should have seen that coming. These two are absolutely perfect together and their story is perfection. I cannot wait to see what comes next in this series and beyond!
Obsessed. That's what I am when it comes to this book. Becket Kingston is running for a seat in the state senate. He needs a boost in the polls, so it's suggested that he find a wife. Juliette Fairbanks has recently found herself in a situation where she's become the legal guardian of her cousin's children. Their grandparents are suing for custody and Juliette will stop at nothing to keep those kids in her care - even if that means entering into a fake marriage with her best friend's older brother. They both needed this, but we all know what happens when those lines start to blur.
I loved this book so much and found it really hard to put down. I think Becks & Jules might just be my favorite in this series. This was a really well-executed marriage of convenience romance. I can't wait to see what Bella comes up with next.
This may be the HOTTEST book to date when it comes to the Kingstons! Becket is a mild manner man, who is poised but holy smokes is he a beast in the sheets!
From the very first page you could feel the steam building between Becket and Jules! They bantered back and forth and didn’t hide the attraction that laid between them, but their lives were heading in two different directions! When life threw both a curve ball they quickly learned that together maybe they could conquer and achieve all they needed too with a short agreement because love was not an option.
I am obsessed with this family but Becket has my heart, soul and I will never be the same because the love between him and Jules is something you don’t always see. Bella did an amazing job highlighting all the beautiful parts of blended homes and gave us two main characters whose hearts are unrivaled. I think this might be my favorite in the series.
3.5⭐️ This book is unexpectedly good. Main characters have undeniably good chemistry and side characters are wonderful too. Marriage of convenience to real one. But the whole book carried only the kids adoptions & his politucs. Wanted more of the couple.
Tropes: Best friends brother Marriage of convenience Friends to lovers He falls first
Damn Becks and Jules are 🔥🔥🔥 their relationship is something I want for myself where do I sign up??? Bella definitely saved the best Kingston brother for last and I’m not mad about it!
The push and pull between these two 🔥🔥. I couldnt put this book down! Started and finished in a day! Becket and Juliette have stolen my heart. Love all books by Bella, but she truly outdid herself!
These books are so good! It's safe to say Bella Matthews is my comfort read! I love all her books!
Beck & Juliette story was so good! Read this is if you love ♡fake marriage ♡best friends, big brother ♡Family friend ♡Billionaire romance ♡interconnected stand-alone
Beckett and Jules are officially one of my favorite couples! Their chemistry was hot but the development of their relationship was one of the most realistic and well written out of the group.
I was an ARC copy of this book. I’m a huge fan of the Kingston books, this book does not disappoint. I loved the new characters and seeing previous characters as their threads continue to grow. An agreement quickly turns to more and I was here for it. Great spice, great humor and a family you love being a part of. Thanks for the ARC copy Brianna Matthews!
I devoured this book in a single sitting. Becks and Juliette are couples goals for sure. I didn’t realize Becket was going to take the top spot for favorite Kingston, but he definitely has. I also have a huge girl crush on Jules. She is flawless and classy and just ✨everything✨
First off, I knew I was going to love this just from the trope list. Best friend’s brother, fake marriage, found family/raising kids. These are all things I live for, and Bella delivered on every single one.
The premise is simple but impactful. Becket and Juliette have known each other for years, since Jules is his sister’s best friend. Now Becket is running for the Senate and needs a wife to pull ahead in the polls. Juliette has retired from modeling and finds herself with tenuous custody of her young cousins. Marriage seems to be the thing that will help them both, so they agree to fake marry each other. Except the whole marriage thing never feels fake.
I love stories where people have known each other for years and suddenly a switch is flipped and they realize something perfect is right in front of them. That’s what this is. Becket is so likable and such a stand-up guy as he steps up to help Jules raise her cousins, and Jules is endearing in her selflessness and patience with those kids.
What I love is that there is an undercurrent of affection and tension that runs through every interaction between Becks and Jules. By the time they get to the wedding, it starts to all feel very real, and I was loving it.
I also really love the kids and how Becks and Jules went all in on giving them both the support and stability that they needed. Becks and Easton were especially endearing.
I love the whole Kingston clan. My only minor (very minor) complaint is that this is my fourth Bella book, and I still need a diagram to keep track of them all. But that’s not exactly a hardship as I get to read more backstories on this awesome and boisterous family.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series but this one is going to be hard to top!
*Thanks Bella Matthews for the ARC and letting me get early access to this fantastic read*
