1954: The S.S.S Strikes

Rate this book
Führerbunker Berlin Germany.
There is a coldness to this place. Not quite a dungeon but far removed from anyone’s idea of a lavish home. However, it is not his home, nor was it meant to be, and it was certainly not meant to serve as the last resting place. This place, as taciturn as it is, is intended to regain some hope, maybe even some leverage. But now, all that is lost; the worst part is, he knows it.
The sounds of the crumbling building can be heard beyond the thick mortar and rock that make up the bunker. The sounds of pops that are not unlike the sound of a child’s toy going off fall into the background. Clouds of dark grey smoke mixed with street dust fill the air. The smell of burning wires and sewage explode into the nostrils. Water from broken mains fills the streets, causing a dark mixture of blood and ash. The world for the German people has become a hell on earth. But below the surface. He waits.
“Mein Führer! They are approaching.” The look of confusion runs over his face. He was once a leader of many. An army that stormed across Europe, Someone who inspired fear across the globe, his look is followed by a look of disbelief, and then a sudden show of anger crosses his brow. “I do not see how.” He says as he turns to look at his female companion.
