And if one green bottle should accidentally fall...

Reluctant amateur detective Edward Crisp has vowed not to get involved in any more murder investigations, and has instead decided to move to writing fictional murders.

As the bodies start to pile up, Edward, along with his trusty self-appointed teenage sidekick Noah, has to face his deadliest enemy yet, in a battle that is very personal indeed.

I've been a huge fan of this series from the beginning, and was eagerly awaiting this despite knowing it was somewhat of a pause to the series.
No matter, the wait was totally worth it. What a read.
Told from the first person points of view of Edward Crisp and his sidekick Noah, who has probably changed and grown so much since the first book, it follows the Ten Green Bottles killer.
This time the Murders are personal. The killer hints at who the next victim will be, and it gets very close to home. Peter was very clever with who he chose, and it kept you at a nice low level of tension throughout.
There was no hints as to who the next victim would be until they struck.
Peter brought back characters from throughout the series and they all had their own unique and vital part to play. Peter manages to throw in some brilliant red herrings and omg twists.
This is a cozy series, and if you've not read any of the previous books, you'd probably be best to, to understand the various character arcs, that and the fact they are all brilliant.
This is undoubtedly my favourite of the books so far and Peter's writing has gone from strength to strength.

Ten Green Bottles by Peter Boon is the final book in a series that centers around Edward Crisp, a local school librarian with a penchant for mystery novels, and his sidekick/protege, Noah. In this final installment, Edward has just published his first book. At the release party, he receives a mysterious poem that lists the names of people, near and dear to him, that are to be targets of a mysterious killer. He laughs it off at first, but when the first person turns up dead, it's time to start investigating. Hopefully he can catch the killer before too many people die.

As the concluding novel in the series, Ten Green Bottles is simultaneously a new story in its own right and a chance to revisit all the previous novels wrapped into one book. For the previous books, you can get away with reading them out of order--though you shouldn't because the story does build--but this one gives detailed spoilers for all the previous books.

I must admit: I'm a little sad that this is the end of the adventure. Hopefully Peter Boon chooses to return to these characters in the future.

Edward Crisp is well known in Chalk Gap for solving some recent murders but now he is being known for his new book 'Ten Green Bottles'.  When a mysterious note is found at his book launch threatening 10 people he cares about most, Edward is in the midst of his own crime thriller.

This is probably my favourite Edward Crisp mystery book to date. I have adored every single book which Peter has released so far but this is next level.

After reading the series and becoming attached to these characters it is honestly mind boggling to think you could lose any of them at the turn of a page. I was terrified!!!

With so many twists and turns Peter has the reader on the edge of their seat, nail biting revelations, tear jerking deaths and of course our wonderful Noah saying exactly how it is.

I'm slightly heartbroken that there will be no more Edward Crisp novels for the foreseeable but the pain is lessened to know that the Noah investigative spin off is on the horizon.

I beg EVERYONE to give the Edward Crisp series a go because they are some of the cosiest, thrilling novels I've read in years.  Ten Green Bottles is nothing short of a triumph.

5 star read!!

This is officially the final Edward Crisp book, but I guess you never know. It begins with a book launch: Edward has finally decided to publish his novel. But almost immediately, bad things happen. It turns out someone is not at all happy with him and has decided to start a murder spree based on Edward's book. Suddenly none of his friends or family are safe and he has no choice but to do what he can to figure out what's going on.

A cool think about this one is we hear first hand from Noah and get an insight into his thought processes. Working separately and together they do figure out what's going on, but not before several members of the community are killed. All of which has Edward even more anxious and guilty feeling.

One note: in an author's note, Boon indicates he intends a new series featuring Noah that's supposed to come out "early in 2024" but, best as I can tell, it's not available as yet.

It's important to say that the previous books in this series must be read prior to this book to avoid spoilers and to fully understand this storyline.

This book feels like it's the series finale, which is disappointing as it's a very good series. However, this story is absolutely the perfect ending. For me, it is definitely the best book in the series and had me totally invested from the first chapter.

In this book, Edward is sent a letter threatening those closest to him. With the victim list growing, Edward must decide if he should investigate the murders himself or leave it to the police.
Yes, I did guess the killer. However, I wasn't 100% sure, and it was still a very thrilling finale.

All the characters are back from the previous books, including my favourites, Noah and Linda. This is a very good series which I highly recommend.

Edward Crisp says he is done solving mysteries, and I am inclined to believe him. I wish him well, and I hope no one else in his lovely little down ends up murdered.

At the same time, I am sad to say goodbye. I loved seeing this anxiety-ridden man use his knowledge of murder mysteries in order to solve crimes. I loved seeing him take risks he didn't want to take. He inspired me to do things I am afraid to do.

I did figure out the murder before Edward this time, but I think that's okay.

I rarely give cozy mysteries five stars, but these stories and these characters are just incredibly fun.

Thanks, Peter Boon, for such a fun

What an amazing book if this is the last book in the series then it ended on a bang and every single book in the series has been 5/5

Read in one sitting it was great. The deaths were heart breaking especially one in particular and the killer reveal was amazing and a treat for fans of this series who have been with Peter since book one.

Thank you for such an amazing series and I will have to reread them all at some point.

Peter Boon is a brilliant author and cannot wait to read whatever they bring out

A real who done it!

Edward and Noah have helped solve several murders in Chaulk Gap over the last several years. Noah is now in college, and Edward finally publishes his first novel. But peace doesn't last long in Chaulk Gap. A murderer has targeted Edward and his family and friends. They start plucking off the list of "Green Bottles." Can Edward and Noah figure out who the killer is before it's too late? What a great read. I've come to love these characters and will be interested in reading the next series, Mr. Boon has in store for us. Highly recommend!

Another brilliant Edward Crisp adventure! A clever way of drawing all the previous books together, Peter keeps us guessing throughout the book. Found it hard to put down, devoured it in a couple of sittings! A bit sad to say goodbye to Edward’s adventures but have really enjoyed the entire series … read it!!!

best one yet!

Oh my lord! (Sorry rev flowers) I couldn’t stop reading, every chapter kept me gripped and determined to know what was happening next, I not give no spoilers but there are points in the story that made my stomach drop, a wonderfully written book that takes you right into lives of the characters and makes you feel as if they are part of you.

This is the cover on Amazon

Set near Eastbourne UK. 252 pp. The mystery was just fine, and the characters were just OK. The double spacing between paragraphs was distracting, but that seems the way of the self-published. Mostly read this for the Green Readathon this month. Not a horrible ending to the series and a fast read.

This was excellent- it was a fitting end to an arc that has run through the previous books. Heart breaking but excellent.

What a twist!

I loved this final story of Edward and Noah, but what a twist. It took me almost to the end to figure it out!
