Chris Reilly

Chris Reilly has loved reading from as early as she can remember and would spend hours letting her imagination run wild. She was born and raised in Liverpool, UK and still lives in her favorite city with her son and their two cats.

She spent the majority of her 20’s/30’s reading thrillers, but made the switch to romance when she picked up a book called ‘Dirty Letters’ and loved it and the authors so much, she went looking for more. Reading Indie Romance became her passion and she was inspired by these amazing authors and decided to put her writing hobby to the test.

A 'Happily Ever After' is always the goal for her characters, but there may be a cliffhanger or two, and definitely some angsty situations to work through, occasionally a little bit dark, but oh so delicious.

Skim read— this is a duet that should have been one book. It was way too many pages to keep this interesting. I skimmed to the good parts and then picked up book 2. Also if you want me to buy into a New Jersey MC don’t say- they were sat in the dining room etc.— Americans say - they were sitting in the dining room. So
Suddenly the big bad bikers are English gardeners in my mind🤣 Any way here’s another dumb biker lie a Charlotte Mcginlay clone that witnesses his gf who

It had been a while since I read a biker romance and I was so excited for a good one and this one definitely delivered 😎

Beware: this is part of a duet (I didn’t realize because I got it for free on stuff my kindle day and just randomly selected it without knowing anything about it) and this book does end mid-action on a cliffhanger 🫣

I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters however, there were 2 lines that irked me “Shit, I had to stop thinking like this. I’d be starting my period before I knew it.” And “I stop thinking like a fucking chick.” These were said by the male MC and they just felt very unnecessary to me. Biker romances are not cute and fluffy, there is a lot of alpha male characters and talk but adding these lines to Hudson’s trail of thoughts kind of made me ick.

That being said, I’m already looking forward to part 2 and to see how these characters’ lives develop as well as hoping for more books with the other characters maybe?

I'm not going to rate bc I dnf'd at 75%. I will say, however, that the reason this doesn't get that much attention is because the writing lacks so much depth that I had zero problem stopping at aforementioned 75%.

Where should I start? THIS IS UNDERHYPED, OVERLOOKED AND DOESN'T GET THE ATTENTION IT SHOULD. I fell in love with the characters, plot, action and tension. This book made me giggle, made me cry, made me smile. I ate this book up or it ate me, I haven't decided. Rosa and Waverly... BADDIES. Hudson? New book boyfriend? Yes. I AM GOING STRAIGHT INTO THE SECOND BOOK.

People gotta stop being scared of using contractions!! It makes the dialogue clunky.

Plot was interesting there were twists and turns. Spice was good I'd say about 3/5 because it's minimal really.

Cliffhanger ending. Onto book 2 😌

I loved this book! could not put it down I loved all of the characters in the MC and honestly the way the Chris Reilly has set them up it is leaving us want more from this whole MC!

I loved Waverley I thought she was strong and the kind of badass we can all fall in love with. My heart broke for her and everything she went through in this book but I was so glad she found closure and healing from that situation by the end of the book.

I loved Hudson he was a 10 for me... I wanted to jump through the book and punch him at times but I loved him and was rooting for him and Wave to sort their shit out. Their love to hate was real strong in the beginning.

She is estranged from her family at the start of the book and it was lovely to see those bond mended too....

WAR and Con omg we are all GAGGING for their story....

The cliffhanger was unforgivable, My jaw was on the floor pitch side at my son's Football match.

This book delivered! The storyline had me hooked from the start — gritty, gripping, and full of heart. The spice? Just the perfect icing on the cake.

The FMC is strong, sharp, and absolutely fierce — I loved how she gave as good as she got, especially in the fiery banter with the MMC. And speaking of the men... hot hot HOT. Think bad boy bikers with soft spots for the ones they love. Yes please. 😍🔥

And that ending?! A delicious cliffhanger with a twist. I'm counting down the days until Book 2 arrives.

If you love spice, sass, and swoon-worthy chaos — add this to your TBR immediately!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book in return for an honest review and am very glad I did. A heady combination of bikers, intrigue and steamy romance, this book kept me captivated from the start and I read it in a weekend. With a background setting of Motorcycle Clubs, something I knew nothing about it was interesting to learn about the internal dynamic of living within an MC as the story unfolds around the main characters. These were well developed and ultimately likeable, you really care about what happens to them. There are also lots of interesting side characters that clearly have some intriguing stories of their own- some spin offs in the making perhaps? There is plenty of action and steamy romance which end on an absolute cliff hanger- can't wait for the second book in this series!

Are you freaking kidding me???
Honestly, OMG 😱 😱 😱
After I read the prequel novella I already loved Hudson and Waverly. But also the two most important side characters, Warren (Waverly's twin brother) and Connor. The four are inseparable. They are the perfect 🍀
This book definitely didn't change my love for all of them. On the contrary.
The worst part is the things that happened during the time between the books. It's been 5 years.
So much happened. But the biggest shock was what happened recently with Connor 😱😭 That's the reason why Waverly is back at the compound of the MC. I won't say more about the details, I promise. I can't stop 😭😭😭 Connor is such a wonderful guy. He is special.

It's not just this one thing. The whole book is full of surprises and twists. None of them I saw coming, so it's definitely perfect 👍

I don't even know what I could say without saying too much. There isn't even one second in the book where it's "normal". Not a second of pause. It's action and plot twists from the start.

And the cliffhanger. I'm so happy the series is already fully published, and I have book 2, otherwise I would be ☠️ by now 🤯🤯🤯

I was really looking forward to the premise of this book but it flopped for me. I felt like the characters lacked depth and the MFC and MMC had zero chemistry at all. Her dad didn’t seem like he really gave two shits about her. I was hoping for some reconciliation or growth in their relationship and we didn’t get it. We are supposed to believe she was so close with her brother yet didn’t see or talk to him for 5 years except via email?
Spoiler***
Of course she has a bf at the beginning and they’ve been going out for over a year and he just buys her
“My aunt it sick” then follows that up with “she was in an accident.” Two very different things. And of course she leaves and he immediately and promptly cheats on her. Like why even write her having a bf. Then the grotesque way the MMC reacts to her arriving back home by immediately screwing a chick loudly against the wall so she could hear? I didn’t like him from the get go after that. I skimmed the last 2 hours of the book because it was boring and drawn out. Then forgot it ended on a cliffhanger 😒.

meh (spoilers)

I don’t like books where the mc gets with other people. Maybe I’m stubborn but I would’ve never forgiven the hero if I was the heroine. Especially after being raped seeing the guy your with having sex with someone else in front of you and bragging. I don’t care how hurt you are your actions have consequences and I don’t recall one apology if anything he blamed the guy that raped the heroine. He is at fault but only to do with what instead of owning up to his mistakes. It is the guys fault for what he did with the heroine but everything else was all him. And also the heroine just forgives him like without an apology without him begging for forgiveness like I’d understand a lot more if there was a lot more remorse. He even fucked a girl so loud just so that she could hear him like tf 😩

This book kept me hooked all the way through and I totally loved the chemistry between Waverley and Hudson. I can't wait to see where the story lines goes, particularly after that cliff hanger! This was super hot and steamy and I think it has got me hooked on Motorcycle Club romance books now.

Devil’s Chaos, Book 1 (by Chris Reilly), about life and romance in sexist, paternalistic American biker gang culture, is quite a ride of a read, and — warning! — things get sharply drawn and sometimes as raw as reality. The story dives deep into the minds of its most prominent characters, who are fleshed out in gritty detail, exploring their innermost secrets, what makes them tick, and why they do what they do. This reviewer, a guy who has not been into so-called “romance” novels (but who perhaps should update his preconceptions), was expecting to find some schmaltzy “Love Story”/soft porn mix, but instead found himself on a wild ride, twisted and jerked in ways that kept him flipping the pages to see what was coming next. Yes, there is romance — and some long-lost but rekindled and torrid stuff too — but it’s well woven into this thumping story about biker life. So if you’re looking for an engrossing tale about the criminal subset that takes the road on two wheels, their “old ladies” clinging to their waists, give this one a try.

3.5 stars. I really wanted to like this more, but I didn't like the h Waverley. She's stubborn, but bitchy at the same time. I get it. You were raised in a MC club with an emotionally stunted father. Her twin brother was fine though. I liked him. As well as the H Hudson. The reason for Waverley hating and leaving the club wasn't so believable for me. Why she wouldn't tell what happened to her knowing the MC would have taken care of it, but I guess she was pushed into leaving irrationally after catching Hudson after what happened to her. Her tough persona was also annoying. She's basically asking to get her ass kicked throughout. Especially at the end. She's wishy-washy with her feelings for Hudson and I didn't appreciate that. She never listened when she was told to stay put then tells herself later she should have listened. I don't like characters like this. And poor Conner. Not sure how much more his body can take before he meets his maker. Ends on a cliffhanger with a couple of backstabbing club members and a person back from the dead.

Is family still everything?

Typical MC book.
The club princess and one of the members. We get a lot of those. Waverly the club princess, high takes it 5 years ago to getaway, leaving her family behind. After heartache sped up her plans.
Waverley is in danger and needs protection. It's up to her family and the MC to handle things. She left her current job and boyfriend to go back across state lines to a family that didn't really care.
A love that was shattered, a twin that missed her, and a dad who is the president and wants her safe. A old friend who was beaten within an inch of his life.
When a rival club wants her, all hand on deck, until they start picking off people closest to her.
So much is going on here, but it keeps you interested. And the cliffy?

Eagerly awaiting the next one!

Being part of a motorcycle club is a world I will never be a part of which is what made this book so exciting and intriguing. I loved the two main characters Waverley and Hudson in equal measures and loved how the book alternated between the two points of view, which made it hard to put down as I would be desperate to get back to the other character.

Compulsive reading from start to finish and I can't wait for the next installment. I'm sure I will read again and again to get my fix of Hudson Kelley!!

First of all, I love Chris’ writing style!
The fact she’s a fellow scouser makes me want to shout about this book from the rooftops of the Liver Building!
This book has the perfect amount of everything you would want in a contemporary romance novel. Obviously a motorcycle club is an added bonus!
Plenty of action, and that cliffhanger? 😲

*immediately goes online to order the next one*

I always have a soft spot for groups of people with such a strong bond and this is no exception! Thoroughly enjoyed reading this one and Chris, you should be really proud 🥰

I absolutely love the range and realism of the characters Chris weaves into her books and the crossovers to her other books. The result, is that you already feel like you know them a little, when their names appear in another story. Chris weaves complex story plots with multiple characters with ease, and you find yourself situated fully within the world, and mindset, of her lead and side characters. This was my first MC romance and it did not disappoint! That ending packed a punch too! Couldn't wait to get started on Book 2 in the series. Would 100% recommend.

3.5🍁 | 🌶️

This was a good read, it was romance with spice (I was even thinking whether it would happen or not), and honestly the way author got rid of Declan just so our FMC and MMC could ignite their spark again was meh. It felt like all those webtoons I like to read that makes the 2nd male lead as bad as possible just to make the main male lead good.

Anyway, there are secrets, twists, MC rivalry some fights and I actually got to read an MC book with their jargon (apparently I haven't read much of those so I wasn't aware of many terms, but I picked them up fairly quickly). Yeah, I'm more of a mafia girly. But I do love a good biker.

The twist at the end was absolute what the hell moment and I can't wait to start the next book.

How I wish I could go .5 cause this is a 4.5 with ease
Cause Dam…..
Childhood friends ➡️ to lovers ➡️ to enemies ➡️ to lovers again is a plot and half. Then throw in a motorcycle club, being dragged back home to the club by your brother and his friend, a bf back in North Carolina and a job and flat, her dad being the head of the MC, some other old childhood friends, a better lack of term for him an arsehole from school, a surprise hidden gay relationship, a rival MC gang out for blood and a solid 4🌶️ out of 5 makes for a hell of a good book. (There’s way more but that’s more than a spoiler than I want to drop)

I would have given it a 5 if I wasn’t left on several cliffhangers.

Im hoping we get a standalone maybe of the surprise hidden gay relationship cause that would be sick. - future Anna here this is an even stronger wish now omg

Also there is a prequel to this which I didn’t realise and would also recommend reading :)

A fantastic read

I absolutely loved this! Great way to start this duet. I loved the world building and how we got to know each of the characters. I was instantly drawn to the characters and the writing. Right away, I knew his was going to be a favourite read of mine.
Anyone who loves a good MC romance will love this book.

Started off promising but both mains ended up being morons and it was hard to skim to finish. Hudson was dumb and spiteful. Waverly was just dumb.

Also, British? author writing about American MC did not work out well here.
