Thinking and Thoughts: A Collection of my Writing Throughout the Years

Rate this book
Anyone who ever knew me when I was younger will know that I was never without a book in my hands, always waiting for just a few minutes of free time so I could get lost in a different world. Despite this, my hunger for fictional stories was never satiated; I needed more, and creating my own was the perfect fix. I didn’t always write my stories down in the beginning, but once I discovered the power of a pencil scratching against paper, the addictive clicking of a desktop computer, I was hooked.

Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking. About how to bridge the gap between plot point A and plot point C, how to make characters relatable and real, how to incorporate a certain metaphor without it being too obvious. Thinking about tragedies and issues in our world, and how to make other people think about them, too. About how I can initiate global reform, or maybe, provide just one person the relief of seeing themselves represented in writing. Thinking about which structure to use to make a sentence more exciting, painful, or compelling. About when to use a single line of dialogue rather than an entire paragraph of text, about how I can mimic my favorite author’s style and mold it into my own.

Come with me on the journey through this collection and you can witness, firsthand, how all of my thinking, all of my thoughts, have transformed into the written word.

Very very good, I looked to see the progression of Erin’s writing! All the stories had some meaning that were meant to be put in the book. All very good!
