Too bad he was a werewolf, because he looked damn good when he smiled like that.
Well, fuck me sideways. Werewolves usually didn’t smell great to me, mostly because their blood made me want to puke. I had the feeling Jack’s blood might be delicious. Fuck me sideways twice.
“Oh!” Nate said. His mouth dropped open and he gave Jack a quick up-and-down once-over. And then he leaned around Jack and peeked at me, dark eyes gleaming. And winked. The little fucker winked.
“Nice going.”
“Kiss me like you mean it, furball.”
“I hate being a cliché,” I said as lightly as possible, clearing my throat to get rid of the lingering remnants of laughter. Jack’s brows drew together. He leaned in the tiniest fraction closer. That faint glow behind the icy blue mesmerized me in a way I hadn’t thought werewolves could manage; mesmerizing prey was more of a vampire thing.
“You’re anything but a cliché.”
