When the Syndicate calls to collect their debt— Omegas are given no choice but to succeed…or die trying.

I’m never taken by surprise. Being a con artist in the world of the glamorous and famous, bending rich men to my whim is my job. So when I wake up in a strange apartment, in a city I vowed never to return to, and being anonymously blackmailed? Not on my list of ‘top favorite things’ to happen to me. I’ve become the puppet instead of the puppet master.
The mysterious and deadly Underground Omega Syndicate needs me to do a job whether I want to or not. They’ve uncovered every dark secret I have, and made sure I knew it, flaunting it wherever they can. If I don’t play my part, follow their orders, and complete the task in time… they will destroy me in every way possible.

So that’s how I became the new executive assistant to the CEO of a top end security company. My boss, Halsted Norlund, an attractive silver fox of a CEO, doesn’t warm to people easily. The only people he truly trusts are his two business partners, Quintin Price and Kerian Lewis, who are both watching me just as closely. The three Alphas I have to work with… are a bigger threat to me than the Syndicate in a way I never saw coming.

No matter what happens or how I feel about these men, I can't fail.

There’s no other option, because it’s my life that hangs in the balance.

The real question is: Can I con my heart into thinking this is just another job? Or will my life be blown up, one way or another?

4.3 stars.
This was actually a very sweet book.
All four of these characters loved each other equally and they showed it in their own ways. It was fun and cute, and had absolutely filthy dirty talk and smut.
I do wish we got a time just epilogue of them happily together later on to see how it all went from there, but otherwise I really loved it.

Lying Lainey gives an omega con-artist who is looking to finish her current job, take a break to get through her heat before taking on her next job. Too bad someone else has different plans for her. After getting snatched, she finds herself already being shoved into a new job. Ability to say "pass"? Non-existent. These people call themselves the "Syndicate" and boy have they done their research on her! They know everything and they are willing to expose her if she doesn't cooperate. Add in an older alpha, his two younger packmates, a code that the Syndicate wants gone and you have a recipe for a book that spells trouble, romance, and tons of steamy!
This book will engage you from the beginning but will keep you waiting on that truly steamy element. Lainey is an interesting character, but boy is she in one heck of a pickle. The Syndicate is keen on pushing their agenda, and because she's so good at what she does...she's their choice for this particular job. Secrets will threaten it all as these men are meant for Lainey.
This book is a real page-turner and will keep you coming back for more to the end. A really good stand-alone novel and absolutely worth reading!

WAY TOO MUCH MM

This isn’t a why choose or a reverse harem - this is just I don’t even know what to call it - not a big Elizabeth Knight fan after reading this - when the relationships are stable and the men don’t need the omega because they are together, what’s the point?

Lying Lainey is Elizabeth Knight's contribution to the multi-author series, the Underground Omega Syndicate. This is one exciting omegaverse, with con artists, crime rings, hackers, aliases, and more. Liz had me biting my nails with this one. It was great.

Elizabeth Knight knows how to write a sassy, strong, intelligent, and capable mfc who is just enough of a mess that I couldn't help but love her. I will admit that I didn't necessarily like Lainey at first and I couldn't figure out why, it wasn't the con-artist thing I've read enough mfc that had plenty of blood in their hands (I love a dark read) but whatever it was it I soon got over it the more I got to know Lainey. It's clear that she has been wearing a mask for her entire life, even when she was alone she didn't take it off, and after learning about her past my empathy for her grew and I started to like her. Lainey has balls of steel, is confident in her work, and is highly intelligent. Sure she is an emotional mess but the guys are helping with that.

The pack is pretty great. The Silver Fox himself, Halstead is a hard businessman but when it comes to every person he feels responsible for, the man is a and I quote "Papa Bear". This alpha loves and protects all that is around him. Quintin has had his trauma just like Lainey and he comes off a little robotically but he has big emotions that he hides under all that stoicism. Finally, there is Kerian who is so personable, he brings a lightness to those around him however he does have a vicious side if you cross him and I like it. These sweet alphas have been together for a while, they're completely in love (romantically) with each other and have a great relationship, they're very emotion-forward with each other. I loved the closeness between them, it was incredibly sweet. The three of them are so different but they fit perfectly together as does Lainey, she was the missing piece.

I like the idea of the guys owning a cybersecurity firm, I haven't come across that one yet. They're powerful businessmen in a unique but current field and that was a major part of the story. Not only did I enjoy that but I also loved the backdrop of beautiful galas, lavish restaurants, cute beachy days, and luxurious homes. With beauty comes the ugly. The Syndicate is at it again blackmailing, putting people in dangerous situations, and more. This group isn't the good guys, the way they go about things is all kinds of wrong especially when they force their views on Lainey. Her completing a task is one thing, forcing her to do something that physically effect her is something else. To see someone as clever and competent as Lainey being shoved around like this isn't easy. As the story goes on it seems the Syndicate has their hands everywhere. I'm pretty sure they're the bad guys at this point.

I really enjoyed Lying Lainey, it had me on pins and needles for the entire book but it was worth it. Liz surprised me with the end, I thought I knew what was coming but I was wrong about the who. What a surprise. Then there was that little tidbit that slipped out at the end, a hint about what happened in the past with Halsted and I color me surprised but it didn't go further than that but I'm dying to know more. I've read two of the Underground Omega Syndicate books down and a few more to go.

I really enjoyed this book! Lying Lainey is a story within the shared Underground Omega Syndicate world. This was the first book I’ve read in the collection so far, but I’m definitely going to be checking out the others since this one was amazing!

Lainey is a con artist with a traumatic past full of secrets and lies. She’s smart as heck and is great at what she does. Unfortunately, her talent catches the eye of the UOS. The shadowy organization demands that she follow their orders, or they’ll spill her secrets – essentially putting a major target on her back that would most likely end up with her death.

Out of a sense of self-preservation, she accepts the UOS’s “offer” – serving as an executive assistant to a security company’s CEO. To Lainey’s chagrin, she finds her new boss very attractive and actually likes him as a person – as well as his business partners.

I absolutely loved the relationships between and amongst Lainey and the guys. It was so sweet to see how each individual clicked with the others to meet a need or understand each other in a specific sort of way. Just like real life – we all find the right people by clicking with them somehow in a unique way. So it was like seeing the puzzle pieces of their personalities fit together as they learned more about one another. Of course, there is some definite spice included as well!

I couldn’t put the book down until I reached the end, because I absolutely HAD to know what was going to happen!

I highly recommend this book!

Lying Lainey is my favorite so far in the Underground Omega Syndicate series. Elizabeth Knight always has me on edge when I read her books. She always guarantees an amazing fmc and storyline that follows her characters. She also managed with this book to make me actually hate the UOS. I am unsure at this point whether the UOS is a good or bad organization. I know their intentions may be good in a way, but this book really tipped the scales for me with how they treated Lainey. It just blows my mind that a group such as the UOS, who claims to want power for omegas, manipulates the same omegas they claim to want to protect in order to get the results they want.

Lainey's character in this book was such a great one! I loved that she was raised as a con woman and that was why she was chosen to complete this particular mission from the UOS. With her adaptive and intellectual abilities, we got to see so many sides to her throughout this book and the emotional battle she had to go through with lying to the one group of people she didn't want to lie to. Slowly, we got to witness Lainey begin to truly understand herself and who she was aside from the con woman she was raised to be. There were no masks, no pretending, just plain Lainey learning what things she actually enjoyed and not the things she was told to like. After years of playing roles, she finally got to experience what it was to just be herself. Such an amazingly written book in this series!

I have loved all of the UOS books that have come out and Lainey's is no different. Lainey is a smart FMC who is a con artist with a trauma-filled past of secrets and lies. With her talent, she has caught the eye of the UOS, which is not great. This shady organization demands that she follows their orders or, she gets a giant target placed on her head when they reveal her secrets.

If you read the other books preceding this one, you'll know this is the UOS mo, they have secrets, you play by their rules and they let you go, once you're done. But they have to do this since their lives are literally at stake if they don't do as their told. Her new... job is as an executive assistant to the CEO of a security company.

The CEO and his business partners are good-looking guys and I loved the interactions with Lainey. These guys, ugh, I liked all 3 of them and I felt like they were different but not so vastly different to be a match for Lainey. It's a great mix of an age gap, with some found family sprinkled in, and of course a yummy heat.

I honestly loved this entire series and this book was perfect! I do hope we see more of the UOS side and see what other amazing characters we get!

Elizabeth Knight does it again! Lying Lainey is a fun, entertaining addition to the Underground Omega Syndicate series. From the very first page, the book grabs your attention, throwing you into a world of secrets & lies, mystery, greed, steam, heats, knots, humour and fun.

Lainey is an omega, living as beta, and working as a con artist. Kidnapped and trapped by the Underground Omega Syndicate, she is blackmailed into taking a role at a security company to prevent them from completing computer code that could harm the Syndicate and Omega's everywhere. Along the way Lainey finds her forever pack.

Lying Lainey is a fun, easy read, with a smart sassy heroine and three very different, but amazing alphas. I loved how all the guys were smart, honest and straightforward, willing to put in the time and effort to connect and understand Lainey while supporting and encouraging her. You could truly feel the emotions and the care all of the alphas put into the relationship - both with Lainey and with each other.

The writing, storyline, and pace are terrific. I definitely enjoyed the intrigue, emotion, deception, relationship dynamics, and the steaminess. If you love a great omegaverse, age-gap, standalone romance, then I’d absolutely recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "LYING LAINEY"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book so well written by this talented author who knows how to pull her readers right into the intense drama, mystery, lies, angst, secrets, traumatic pasts, steam, humor, twists that had you turning the pages.
Lainey is an Omega highly sought after Con Artist on her terms smart, confident, extremely skilled that's his she caught the attention of the Underground Omega Syndicate offering her a job she couldn't refuse, they knew her secrets & would destroy her they blackmailing her to do the job.
Halstead Norlund CEO & owner of Enigma Technologies Security Company hires Lainey as his new executive assistant she meets his partners Quintin & Kerian all Alphas she's scent matched to making this job much harder for to her.
I definitely recommend to get this steamy story Lainey & her Alphas have great chemistry each different than the other but complete each other, what will happen if they find why she's there, will this destroy what they have, what will UOS do if she doesn't complete the job its a must read you just can't miss.
AWESOME READ FOR SURE 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

This amazing omegaverse novel is part of the Underground Omega Syndicate, which is a multi author series. I haven’t read the other available books in the series yet, but if they are as great as this one, then count me in.

Lainey is a con artist omega living as a beta. She lives her life the way she wants to, until the Underground Omega Syndicate decides that they want to butt in. One job for her freedom. There is no refusing, if she tries they will ruin her. But what happens when she meets the gorgeous men who own the company that she is to infiltrate? Can she ignore her attraction to them and complete the job?

I loved this book! Lainey is an incredible female character, she has lived through an awful upbringing, yet prevails by being the best at what she does, and I simply love it! I also loved the guys, especially Quinton! They also have had crappy pasts, but have succeeded to spite it.

The writing, storyline, and flow are terrific. I definitely enjoyed the intrigue, emotion, deception, relationship dynamics, and the steaminess. If you love a great omegaverse, age-gap, standalone romance, then I’d absolutely recommend this book.

This is book 6 in the underground omega syndicate series. They are all stand alone but in a shared universe. This one is Lainey’s story. Lainey is a con artist. She is also an omega but passes herself off as a beta. She just finished a job. She ends up in some unknown location. There is a note. The underground omega syndicate has stuck again. They want Lainey to do a job for them. If she doesn’t do it there will be deadly consequences. They have hired her for a security firm. There she meets Halstead, Quintin and Kerian. They are her scent matched mates. They do not know she is an omega. She must destroy a project Kerian is working on. While out on a business dinner it comes to light that Lainey is an omega. The guys take her home and help her through her heat. They all want her to be their omega. Lainey is planning on getting the job done. Then she’s planning on leaving. She feels like she doesn’t deserve them. Will Lainey compete her job? At the end of it will she still run away from her guys? This is an Omegaverse with age gap and mm. If you aren’t a fan of any of those things then this book is not for you.

I am becoming a big fan of the "Underground Omega Syndicate" series; every book I've read so far has been original, steamy and well written. The same should absolutely be said about "Lying Lainey". It has the classical components of this series: a standalone that can be read on its own, with an omega forced into a roll she doesn't want to play, all to better the rights of omega's, and some unexpected alpha's to come her way.

On top of the classics, "Lying Lainey" also has a true age gap romance, a bit of a found family trope, an unexpted heat and three amazing men Lainey ultimately wants to call her own. I have developed a soft spot for every single one of these three men, and I can truly see why they match so well with Lainey. I can appreciate the time this author took to imply some real relationship-development moments on top of the action, suspense and steam. It created an interesting storyline, where the relationships ultimately make sense.

This is definitely a series where every single book stands on its own, while also triggering the desire to read them all!

'The Best Kind of Trouble'

Lainey is the name. Conning is the game. After 32 yrs of a rough life, Lainey is about to be apart of the biggest con of her life. After finishing a job, she is captured and blackmailed into a job held by the Underground Omega Syndicate.

When she receives order to become the newest executive assistant to Halstead Norlund, the CEO and co-owner of Enigma Technologies, the last thing on her mind was that she would be scent-matched to him. What's more, is when his two colleagues, Quintin and Kerian introduce themselves and she quickly finds out she's also scent-matched to them, she realizes this job just got that much harder.

When everything is working out great as if she lived a normal life and discovers she's quite good at this new assistant job and may possibly be falling in love, the UOS reminds her of her mission and everything fades away.

Will Lainey have what it takes to complete her mission? When the truth comes out, with the guys see her as they have been or will her con-artist ways come forth and leave ruins behind?

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the twist of the con-artist and how we got to understand Lainey on the intro job of the book. The author did an amazing job creating such a web of lies and back door talk, I was very impressed. This being said, some parts seemed more like filler and I was eager to get back to the story! Cant wait for more UOS!!!

*Overall 4.5/5
*Heat? 5/5
*Med Burn
*Multiple first person POV
*MMFM
*Ends on HEA

“There are two types of people in the world. Those who let their circumstances dictate who and what
they become and those who say.....” So Lainey thought with what she had been through in her life. She was the consummate con-artist, for hire, her fees and her rules made her in demand. Until one night circumstances changed and she was no longer in control and it was no longer her rules. She was ordered what, when and how she was to do something. If Lainey did not her life would be destroyed, in the course of doing what she had been ordered to do, Lainey met Halsead, Quintin and Kerian. Oh how everything changed, boy how it changed. I became so engrossed in the story line, the deceit, the faith, love and computer code ;-) and how the story would be resolved I was shocked I had finished the book. You will not be bored with this story and you will keep reading just find out how it was resolved.

Another good book by Elizabeth Knight. Lying Lainey is a story within the shared Underground Omega Syndicate world. This was the first book I’ve read in the collection so far, but I've now put the others on my TBR list.

This was one of the best omegaverse stories I've read in a long time. I really enjoyed Lainey. Her character was complex, had depth and a solid personality. I enjoyed seeing her discover who she really was under all the layers that she had been covered in. I thought the concept of this standalone was really great. It had an edgier feeling to it , more than other omegaverse books I've read had. The underground secret organization, hidden identity and con artist concept really hooked me. And we cannot forget to mention the Alphas that Lainey suddenly finds herself surrounded by. As their relationship grows and develops, I started to quite enjoy Kerian, H and Quins personalities, equally diverse and distinct! And the spice, phew! That was some steam! Overall I thought this was a really entertaining, captivating standalone, that was well written, flowed well and had a solid creative storyline. I look forward to reading more from this authour!

This is another amazing addition to the Underground Omega Syndicate series. Every single one is a standalone.
Lainey is one of those amazing female main characters with a pretty awful past (born to addict alpha, went into foster care system, became a con artist) but all her guys swoop in to help mend the damage that was caused. The Syndicate really messes with her, especially her heat cycle. I felt so bad because they wouldn’t just leave her alone. I loved the dynamic between all of the alphas. Halstead is silver fox of the pack *55 years old with a 23 year age gape between himself and Lainey* Quintin has his social awkwardness and then there is also Kerian.
This whole book flowed flawlessly with a plot that kept me sucked in and plenty of great spice. Anyone who is a fan of omegaverse that leans towards the darker side, this is a perfect series for that.

Spice: 3.5/5

Wow! This was truly an amazing book. I had a love/hate with the FMC. I felt like she was so bad A and independent but I was also so mad that she wasn’t being honest with anybody! I wanted to punch her. But that’s totally the MO of a con woman and it works out perfectly in the end.

Those alphas…. Drool worthy.
H: super successful silver fox. Hard to work for but definitely a fighter for those he loves.
Q: misunderstood man. When he falls for Lainey, it’s so beautiful because it means even more.
K: the nerdy younger guy of the group. Ah he’s probably my favorite. So much to love.

This novel had multiple POVs, but not so often you get whiplash. It’s well done.

I wish there was an extra epilogue so I could see their HEA fully, not just 2 months later. I loved them and wanted to see them happy!

Definitely recommend this book!

I absolutely LOVED reading about Lainey and those sinfully hot Alphas.

Lainey is a strong and confident FMC, even after a traumatic upbringing. Her Alphas are: Halstead (successful silver fox who isn’t easy to work for, but who doesn’t love the age/gap?), Quintin (your typical misunderstood man but makes it worth it when he finally falls) and Kerian (the youngest one and the nerd of the group)
The Underground Omega Syndicate puts Lainey in a bit of a predicament- she has to choose between her life or those deliciously scented pairs. What kind of choice is that? What will she do? Can she take a chance and trust her Alphas? Will she be exposed? What happens when the truth comes out? Talk about some drama and suspense! But don’t worry, there’s lot of spice and humor to keep it from getting too much. I definitely recommend reading this!!!

A broken Omega with a feisty nature and a lot of baggage - you would think same old, same old - right? well you would be so wrong!

This is EK after all so add snark and a determination plus a personalilty you cant help but love and you have Lainey. She is abducted and put in an impossible posistion forced to do a job which should have been easy but ultimately ends up in deeper trouble when emotions come to the forefront.

An amazing stand alone storey with plenty of steam, True age gap Alpha, found family, amazing character dynamics already in place with the 3 Alpha's who have been together for a while but Lainey just completes them all in different ways whilst they help her mend.

Lots of twists and turns complete this amazing storey which has a great ending. Nothing feels rushed or un answered as you get with some stand alone book, Just an amazing read!

This series follows different omegas in different storylines all created and written by different authors. Another great book from Elizabeth Knight and a homerun within the Underground Omega Syndicate!

Lying Lainey follows Lainey an omega a con artist for hire, who pretends to be a beta to get her jobs done. After completing a frame job, Lainey is grabbed and forced into work by the Underground Omega Syndicate. This new job has her hired as an executive assistant to a silver-fox CEO and she is tasked with destroying code that could track the UOS. However, things start to go awry when Lainey realizes the CEO, the CFO and the top coder are all her scent matches.

This books is full of mystery and intrigue, sexual tension and spice, and plenty of drama and action!

Thank you, Elizabeth Knight, for the advanced review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lying Lainey was a fun standalone ride. The underground omega syndicate swooped in to take a lifelong con artist from her destructive path, and trade out everything that made her feel safe, for everything that put her on edge. It was a delightful tale to see her blossom into an omega, and deal with all the repercussions of finding scent matched alphas. The omegaverse universe is well known, and Elizabeth Knight did it justice. All my favorite things about omegas and alphas hit just right, and there was a backstory to give each of the characters, but especially Lainey, enough trauma to be strong, not so much she is broken. Knight is great at giving us little twists and turns even though we most likely know how the romance genre books end, and this fast and fun read was not lacking in the stomach drops, and heart string tugs.

I can’t believe how much I truly loved reading about Lainey & her Alphas. Lainey was a great main character who was strong and confident, even after a traumatic upbringing. I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll try to be careful!
Her Alphas, Halstead, Quintin, & Kerian, are near the top of there on the list of best book boyfriends ever although Halstead takes the top spot!
Lainey’s put in an impossible situation by the Underground Omega Syndicate that puts her between her life or her scented pairs. What will she do? Can she really take a chance by trusting her Alphas? Will she be exposed? What will her Alphas think once they learn the truth?
It’s a wonderful journey with plenty of spice, humor, and love & you don’t want to miss any of it!

Con artist Lainey is put to the ultimate test in Lying Lainey! Labeled an asset by the UOS, she is "recruited" to take on a job... or else. This ends up being the best thing for her because she meets the CEO of a security company and his associates. While at the beginning there is tension, all in all, it was great seeing the men work her out of her shell and let her drop the mask she has been wearing. They even help her work through her difficult past. And the heat was off the charts! It was also interesting getting to know more about the syndicate as they seem to have their hand in everything. There is definitely some darkness surrounding them. I look forward to reading more from this world!

Lying Lainey

This is Omegaverse with the perfect amount of snarky female empowerment that makes you love our FMC Lainey.

When she finds herself kidnapped and in a city she never wanted to be in she realizes that her world is about to go through a drastic change…and although it has always seemed like second nature to “con” others, she was always pretty set on not falling down the rabbit hole herself.

But when Lainey is forced to take a job she feels unprepared for she must find a way to pull the curtain back on not only her wants and needs…but she must take control of an uncertain future.

Lainey is a strong and passionate woman who may have just met her match! And she’s not as upset as she thought she would be.

Elizabeth Knight has done it again!
Lying Lainey, part of the Underground Omega Syndicate series was utterly captivating!!!

This is the story of our strong, fierce omega com artist heroine Lainey who is the ultimate BA FMC with a tragic past that sucks you right into her story—which escalates quickly when she suddenly realizes she’s been kidnapped and forced to take a job and everything changes. Especially when she may have met her match with some sexy as sin alphas that rock her world!

This book is packed full of tons or intrigue and so much steamy goodness you won’t regret it!! Especially if you’re a fan of age gap Omegaverse featuring hot and sexy alphas and a fiercely passionate and of so snarky Omega that isn’t afraid to take them on!

Syndicate Rules…

Lainey was a con artist who has been doing job after job for many years. When the UOS took her and gave her no choice but to do a job for them she couldn’t say no.
When she went to her new job Lainey didn’t expect to find three scent matches. For an omega and alpha this meant they were perfect for each other, soulmates.
Attempting to keep to her self and get the job done that the Syndicate wanted she tried to disguise herself as a beta.

This was a pretty good book. I enjoyed the connection Lainey had with Halstead, Kirian and Quinten. The owners of the security tech company that the syndicate wanted her to get close to.
This ends with a HFN. I would have liked to see a little more of the pregnancy and birth.

This is a stand-alone in a shared world, and it fits right in!

A snarky con-artist heroine finds her mates including a silver fox (more of this please)!

I love the journey - I don't want to spoil the plot, but you won't be disappointed it's full without brushing over the niggly bits!

I felt like Lainey's decisions made sense for her character and for once an FMC didn't make me want to yeet my phone across the room in sheer frustration!

I enjoyed watching the relationships develop (and yes also the smexy times), but the platonic relationships were where I was hooked - watching the guys dynamics unfold is always so interesting, seeing who fits where etc.

I'm excited to read this again, and the others in the world because I've got the Omegaverse bug now.

A Definite Must Read!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review

This is the final book of the Underground Omega Syndicate and my first official read by Elizabeth, although I have most of her books on my TBR and will definitely be reading them as soon as I can now.

This book was definitely steamy and hot omegaverse with amazing and perfect characters you will most definitely fall for and Halstead, Quinton and Kerian will have you swooning over them. Lainey our FMC is a strong, feisty con artist who finds herself kidnapped and then forced by the Syndicate to take a job.

A story full of mystery and suspense, steam and intense chemistry, danger, action, adventure, and so much more. It ends on a HEA and it’s one you don’t want to miss. Definitely a must read and I highly recommend it.

Such a fantastic book, honestly couldn’t put it down I was completely mesmerised. The storyline is well thought out and written with such detail and emotion. You can’t help but live Lainey and the struggles she is dealing with.
The mysterious enemy/enemies have you on the edge of your chair, just loved the suspense.
The omegaverse elements and tone was well written. Although I usually don’t read this genre this book definitely has changed my views on it.
The steamy scenes - WOW 🥵🥵🥵 definitely hot AF, heats, knotting, mm, RH - spicy.
Loved the high tech element to the storyline, so fascinating.
Overall a fantastic read with a perfect ending.
