He did it because he thinks I already belong to him. That I'm his property, his possession, his bride who will kneel before him in submission.
Let me make something His ring may be on my finger, but I will never give him my heart. His baby may be in my belly, but I will never give him my love.
I didn't ask for him, and there can be no forgiveness for the crimes of our shared past. But there's more to Aleksey Korolev than good looks and a big demeanor.
When a dark secret rises from his past—secrets that threaten to destroy us both, I'm faced with an unbearable
Forgive him for his crimes against my family. Or let his past drive our futures forever apart.
Unwillingly Yours is Book 1 of the Korolev Bratva trilogy. The story continues in Book 2 - Unwillingly Mine, and concludes in Book 3 - Unwillingly Ours
This book contains scenes that may be disturbing to some readers.
Brook definitely doesn’t disappoint me w/her mafia books! I was excited about this trilogy & couldn’t wait to start it. When Elia is forced into a marriage w/Aleksey, it’s the last thing she wants. He murdered her brother a decade prior & there’s no one else she hates more. Aleksey is determined not to allow her in, he doesn’t trust her, & he’s haunted by his past. A lesson his father taught him, one that has turned his heart black. But Elia is determined to prove he can trust her. Unfortunately there’s outside force’s playing both her dad & his uncle, someone out for revenge. This was a great start to Aleksey & Elia’s story. And the cliffhanger I wasn’t expecting. I had a feeling- but wasn’t sure. Diving into book 2 now!!
I didn’t think it was possible for me to DNF a book at 79%, but I stand corrected. This book could have been so much more, but the author used miscommunication, jumping to irrational conclusions, and the “art of manipulation” without actually applying any cunning art to the manipulation to drive the story. Oh so your father gave you the key to his desk the next day after an argument, telling you to search for something you insisted he had but he denied and because you didn’t find it, your husband is a liar!!! 😱 It’s not like your father could have removed it prior to telling you to look for it there or anything! Nope your father, whom you’ve claimed has always used you and lied to you is finally telling the truth! Give me a damn break 🤦♀️ And what exactly did I miss that made it so obvious that Aleksey’s uncle had plans to murder him, then father an heir by force with Elia? Because that theory came out of nowhere. This book could have really used some dedication to developing a good plot. The author has a good “voice” they’ve crafted through their writing style which makes it very easy to read, but together as a whole it seems to be a bunch of rambling that doesn’t come together nicely. There are a lot of typos and missing words… This story just desperately needs some time and care put into it. That’s all I have or care to say.
he killed her brother and she sleeps with his with out hesitation. she’s in idiot and I have NO respect for that. dumb broad omg I hate when books like these ignite my internalized misogyny, like why do you HAVE to make the woman a lust blind idiot?
I really enjoyed this book. Was sad at first that she had to marry the man that was responsible for killing her brother. Then it seemed like they fell in love. Looked forward to reading the other books
This series is filled with betrayal, secrets, lies, and death. However, it also focuses on two people who have been hurt in the past and who are trying to make a future together regardless of how many people are plotting against them.
Aleksey is now the Pakhan of the Korolev Bratva after his father’s death. His uncle has been plotting but he’s not exactly sure why or for what purpose. One thing he knows is that Elia is to be his wife even though she is the enemies daughter and heir to their family. He will marry her and she will provide his heir but there are so many lies and half truths that neither of them know what or who to believe.
This is a crazy story full of twists and unforeseen dangers. The reveal at the end of this book is going to be interesting for book 2 because their story is just getting started and it’s going to be explosive. Happy Reading!!
Despite the miscommunication trope being thrown in at the last minute, I’m really enjoying this series! Hopefully things get cleared up quickly because they can’t be THAT stupid to believe they’re not being played on all sides, right?? RIGHT??
The tension is great and the spice is delicious. We don’t have a fully formed relationship though, they literally spend all their moments together in bed so I’m hoping next book we get to see them outside of the bedroom. But since they both refuse to trust each other… we’ll see how that all goes. 🤷🏻♀️
I was a bit shocked at who the boogieman thing was! Can’t wait to see everyone’s shocked faces.
My biggest ‘uh what?’ moment was when she talked about getting pregnant. You’re telling me that this whole time they’ve been having sex, unprotected obviously, she didn’t get pregnant beforehand? But the minute they decide to have a baby for… literally the wrong reasons lmao, it happens within two weeks? Just seemed odd to me.
This is book one or the Korolev Bratva series, so be prepared for a cliffhanger ending. Aleksey and Elia were forced into an unwanted marriage to each other in the name of peace between their families bratvas. Elia hates herself for wanting Aleksey especially since he is the man who killed her brother. Aleksey wants to hate Elia since she is the daughter of his enemy. There is so much chemistry between these two it is a wonder they don't burst into flames. But they need to work together and trust one another because there is someone pulling strings in the background that wants to see them all come to a very violent end. Will these two be able to trust one another before it is too late?
A brilliant Mafiaosa book full of intrigue lies and deceit abound, who can trust whom and who is behind the scenes pulling the strings. Alyosha Korolev heir to the throne exiled to New York supposedly because of some threat, The Tarallo Mafia are enemies of the Korolevs and bitter war is between the families Alyosha kills the heir Luca but somehow ends up into an arranged marriage with the Tarallo daughter Elia, their relationship is difficult and neither trusts the other but their attraction can't be denied but things are being organised behind the scenes and are being played out with precision by a hurt and vengeful character. A great read with loads happening and a twist in the tale.
Great start to a new Bratva trilogy! Aleksey and Elia are thrown together in a forced arraigned marriage. Aleksey was your typical Bratva alphahole while Elia was sweet and light. Elia had been though so much losing her brother at the hands of Aleksey. I wish she would have held on to her grudge a bit more. This guy killed your family member and it seemed pretty easy for her to overlook that in her insta-love attraction to Aleksey. The mystery and suspense were very good and that really held my attention. The story was interesting and intense. I'm looking forward to the next book to see where the story takes us! I would recommend Unwillingly Yours to any Bratva/Mafia romance lover!
There was so much potential in this book. I was all in, the set up was just the kind of thing I want to see in mafia romance. I just found myself not liking the characters at all. There was this whole shrouded in mystery piece that was annoying. The hero lacked action and leadership. I expect the Pakahn of the Russian mob to be a man of action, he was a wet blanket. Also they were just boring and dull. I skimmed the last few chapters just to find out there’s a cliffhanger! I don't care about these characters and there is nothing bringing me back to find out if they get their hea. No one in this book was dynamic.
This book one Odín the Korolev story. The start is with a bang a death of a male heir, truly unforgettable. However, for the ultimate revenge game many things must be done. The story moves to the two main characters and their forced wedding. You truly believe that these two will not make it through their wedding night. But to our surprise, they surprised us all and forged forward successfully. Unfortunately the newly wedded couple doesn’t understand they enemy is pulling all the strings. Read On!
Characters are so indecisive and unsure about everything except their sex lives. They only speak the same message and come together in the bed. The rest of the content is repetitive and boring. The woman Elia is weaker than cooked spaghetti. She is forced to marry Aleksey, who killed her brother. She never rebels and enjoys sleeping with the enemy. Totally illogical and unbelievable so skimmed most of it.
A fine line between hatred and love, enemy and friend. People were killed and hatred should have been in full force. How it turned into love no one knows but it happened. People were lied to and had done things that should never have been done. But love did happen and a life was started between two people who loved each other. Love that started from.ahtred. some trust but always doubt. Love and acceptance which was craved.and needed.
Alexeys and Elia were arranged to marry. They were not supposed to but they fall for each other but, lies and betrayals are always in play in Bratva and Mafia life. Who is this person playing and destroying their marriage? Is it his uncle who wants his Pakhan throne or her father who wants nothing more than to avenge her brother who was murdered by Alexeys. Can’t wait for the next book.
It starts out a little slow but when you get towards the end, you won’t believe what you are reading. Aleksey does fall for Elia but their love is really not complete. His previous love still haunts him. I don’t understand why he allowed it to happen to her and then just forget her. I am angry with him now and not sure I am going to feel about him in the next book. But I will find out
It had potential I just found myself not liking the characters and things being repeated so much to the point it was annoying. Also they were just boring and dull. I skimmed the last few chapters just to find out there’s a cliffhanger! Really? This one was bad enough. I’ll not be trying to read the next one because I just didn’t get invested enough in this one
Storyline was good , there was a lot of drama and trauma in the story. The characters are a mess in their lives and not knowing who or what to believe about anyone close to them . Then you have a revenge plot going on too . On to the next book.. keep up the great work!
I normally don’t have any problem finishing a book. I couldn’t do it with this one. The characters are not explained as to who they are in the story which is very annoying and there’s just no hook for me.
This was so different, and man, is it dark in some places!! Elia is in for a world of hurt and I hope Aleks figures out fast he is about to lose everything. Elia is innocent and of course she has to pay the price.
Brook Wilder has kept me guessing through this entire book. What complete craziness. The suspense of never knowing who you can trust is stressful and so much fun to read. Loved it.
I liked it and thought it was a good story. I don’t know if I will read the next one because they didn’t pull me into the story enough for me to be dying to know what happens next. 4.0
It was spicy and steady building conflict until we got to the moment the author alluded to throughout the whole book. and it was a grotesque SA/PA on a single human for a "lesson". DNF.
I really couldn’t follow the various conspiracies in the plot. And I think it wasn’t because I’m dumb, but rather because the conspiracies were. They were nonsensical.
2.5 stars. But that’s just because everything besides the actually conspiracies were fine.
I honestly gave it a shot. But I called it quits at chapter 20. Their chemistry was rushed. Neither had depth or substance. Their SL that tossed them together was… not good.
As usual Brooke Wilder's mafia stories are great! This was a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to the next 2 books. Received an advance copy from the author.
Ummmm so I guess this was an okay read…I just found myself wondering when it was going to end 🤷🏻♀️ I was just bored…same ol same ol if your into that…
