I love Venom, so I thought I'd give the newest series a go.
I've missed a bunch of material in between, but this is set in earlier years when Eddie is living on the street and still craves Spiderman's blood. So seems like it won't put me out too much.
We've got a few characters I've not met before but other readers of the recent Venom stuff should know. I like the way this opens, and Silver-whatsherface seems pretty badass so looking forward to getting to know her.
There is a lot of narration and tiny print - it feels like a lot of panels were crammed into this comic - but its not a total deal breaker. There's a fast pace to help you along.
A good opening issue so I'll look for the next one.
It starts off mid, then it gets better. By issue 3 I was more invested than the seeming frivolity of the first issue.
Art is very good, coloring is great, action is very fun. Plot involves a certain metal-faced master of mysticism and adds to Venom lore, and the execution was a lot of fun.
A pretty solid first issue of a comic. The art was incredible. However l, I felt the story was hard to follow without any context (a huge no no for issue #1's in my book). But I felt like a narrative they were spinning flowed well overall.
