Centuries ago, the monsters came. The labyrinth was built to keep the cities safe, and no one leaves the gates.
Except for Jost, the outcast who makes his living hunting and selling the lost treasures of those who died in the maze. The people in his city don't like a maze-walker like him. They think that someone who survives the labyrinth must have some terrible secrets.

SCABBARD is a great short story introduction to the World of the Stone Maze series. I liked it a lot! Excellent writing and lip biting suspense when Jost is scavenging in the maze.
