I was promised they would treat me like their own daughter. But I knew what I really was—a hostage. For years, I was the pack outcast. That all changed with one touch. Electricity sparked and ancient power burned white hot across my forearm, marking me. A mark for all to see. Every shifter, man, woman and child knew what that meant. The heir to their alpha, enemy to my bloodline, was my soulmate.
** Please note I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. **
This book was exactly what I was looking for. Shifters, romance, a little drama and heat. I loved the plot and the characters. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that it seemed to finish abruptly. However I loved the writing style and I can’t wait to see what Miyo produces next.
Oh my goodness. Well I found another favorite book. Moonlight Reborn was so good. I enjoyed it immensely.
As the eldest daughter of the Alpha of her pack, Sofia is traded to another pack that hers has been warring with for generations, while their heir is traded to hers. This is done as “peace treaty” to stop the war that has gone on for too long and cost too many wolves to die. Sofia is small and weak, no one ever expects her to be a shifter….until one day she does, in secret. She never expected to actually have a wolf inside her and is terrified of what that’ll mean for her living in enemy territory. After her painful transformation, Sofia tries to sneak back in to the castle…only to be caught by the alpha’s son. When he sees her, he assumes she’s sneaking out and grabs her arm…….igniting their soul bond. Neither of them expected a mating bond, especially not with each other. Now the question is, what do they do with it? Accept it, or reject it? If they accept it, what does it mean for their packs….and their futures?
I absolutely loved this story and I’m almost sad it ended in such a HEA, simply because I wanted to explore more of this world and get answers to the million questions I now have! The characters were good, though a few could have been more fleshed out…but if there are going to be more books,it makes sense why they weren’t. The spice was good. The author didn’t make it feel inauthentic or instalove, but there was tension and buildup and all the things we love.
I found the story superfast paced and this meant that not everything got explored to the fullest extend and some twists remained unsolved. There is also a fair amount of violence in this book which sort of came as a surprise but also not. It also fizzled out after the first 30-40% mark.
Overall, an okay story but felt a little rushed to me.
I struggled to rate Moonlight Reborn, but ultimately there was too much that I didn’t enjoy about this book to rate it higher than Two out of Five stars. The pace of the book felt a little jarring; a lot of things occurred, but at times it dragged with many repeat questions and fretting minds. A big miscommunication could have been solved by simply seeing each other first. With the topics being tackled, the characters felt, in my opinion, very childish; the spice, while OK, felt like it was trying too hard to hit quota on good girl/my girl lines. I also felt like the author was leaning into the forbidden relationship trope and enemies-to-lovers trope, but both didn’t hit the mark for me. One because it was very clear Sophia was more of a hostage than a sister, and they both fell in love very quickly to have ever been enemies. The only things I liked about this book were some of the traits of the main characters, Sophie’s strength and resilience, and Aaron’s possessiveness and protectiveness towards her. They worked well together as a couple, and they had moments when I truly felt that fate had made the right choice in pairing them.
If you’re looking for a fairly quick, jam-packed, fated mate shifter romance with a touch of spice, then I’d recommend Moonlight Reborn. It gives the impression of enemies-to-lovers/forbidden romance, but it’s more about Sophia, who is an outsider struggling to get through her days in enemy territory amid bullying, and then she stumbles across her fated mate Aaron, whom she believes hated her, but he just didn’t care for her up until this point, therefore he hadn’t noticed what she was put through. It holds longing for home, desiring someone everyone is against, the lustful draw of true mates, him falling first, fighting for who you want, fighting for yourself, a surprise pregnancy, and a happily ever after. This is book one in the Moonlight Mates series by Miyo Hunter.
2 packs with age old war. Alpha families required to exchange 1 youngling each for the sake of peace and leverage over the other. Sofia who believed that she would never be a shifter lived in enemy territory for the sake of peace. A hostage, an outcast. But one touch on a full moon changed everything. Soulmate...that's what she found...a mark that will announce this development to the whole pack...Will the pack accept an outcast as the mate of alpha heir or will it start a war?
It's an easy read werewolf shifter fantasy novel. The world was described beautifully. For readers who recently started reading fantasy, Moonlight Reborn is best to move to a spicy level.
If you want a break from everything, this book is the one you are looking for.
New to me author, there’s promise here with some editing and plot hole filling. The smut was good, unfortunately the main theme didn’t make sense. Why would 2 enemies exchange children but then never check up on them, make sure they’re treated right and happy? Otherwise what was the point of the exchange? There’s a story arc started with a villain that’s dropped with no resolution.
I really enjoyed the hero as he was dedicated to his heroine. There’s no senseless owd. It reads a bit like a Wattpad rough draft but for what it was I enjoyed it.
I was hoping for Erik’s story next but not in the cards.
I did like this story. It’s interesting enough to keep me reading all throughout, I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed but with it being a series perhaps it will fill out a few of the missing holes. Spice level is about a 🌶️🌶️, so if you’re looking for more than that it isn’t in this book, the storyline and world building makes it worth the read though. I’m off to start book 2!
Sophia was traded to a rival pack as a way to end conflict. She was known as scrawny and weak. Everyone believed that she would stay human and never have a wolf. Once she turned 18, she surprisingly shifted into a huge black wolf. She tried to hide the truth from the rest of the pack, but fate had other plans. As she tries to be sneak back into the house, a hand grips her arm which causes a mate mark to appear. Her mate, Aaron, the next Alpha and twin of the boy traded to her pack. What will happen between these two wolves from rival packs? Will the treaty stay in place and everyone live happily ever after, or will there be war? Read to find out.

“Whether you like it or not, you are my soulmate. If I find that you let someone touch what’s mine, I will disembowel them. Do you understand?”
Amazing spice, sweet romance in a dark world and so many protective moments from Aaron that kept me reading way too late. Ugh. And the story is self contained so no cliffy, but with the potential for more. (Please give me more...)
I've always loved werewolves and the plot lines that can be included in this genre alone can be so compelling. But Sofia and Aaron are so unexplored. They have absolutely no interaction in the book before they're soulmates for us to even deduce what state of relationship they had at all.
They had no character outside their Soulmate bond. He's just an Alpha and she's just the daughter adopted from enemy lines.
I'm just mildly disappointed with how many ways they could have been portrayed. How much of a struggle it would be for them to actually accept their bond and fall for each others human sides not just relying on their wolves, how hard it would be for Sofia to change everyone's minds about her so they finally accept her in the pack and give her respect. As a Luna, just being the Alpha's mate is the tip of the iceberg. Not to mention how fast she got pregnant?
The antagonist as the mom, she could be a bit more evil. I mean, here she just seems set in her ways and one dimensional.
There could have been a deeper plotline for Roger?
And Sofias wolf is so fascinating to be that huge and that beast like, I would have loved if she and her wolf had to hunt and run and learn each other as well as have a purpose of being the Alphas daughter in enemy territory. Idk someone could have wanted the treaty to get broken and a war to break out. And maybe just maybe we could see into Erik's perspective and maybe he and Aaron would have had more ink time.
Or atleast Erik and Sofia could have bonded more.
It was a good short summary for a bigger picture.

Please be aware, I recieved an ARC for an honest review.
I’ve always liked stories about werewolves, and when I saw a snippet of this book on tiktok - where Sofia preemptively rejects Aaron - I was intrigued that the female main character didn’t just fall in line or that it wasn’t just another alpha man, omega woman story. However. I didn’t feel like I had a good idea of who Sofia was. Aaron, at turns, describes her as lithe and small but also curvy with generous hips. He describes her as fiery when the choices we see Sofia make indicate a quieter, more internal type of rebellion. It’s continuously hinted at that she’s smaller and almost frail, but then later in the book Aaron describes her as having noticeable muscle tone for seemingly no reason. Like, I could see it being part of the wolf change, but there were so many “abilities” that the werewolves and/or mated pairs get that seem to come out of nowhere (i.e. they’re not organically built into the story even though it’s noted by both Aaron and Sofia that, though the numbers of members of the pack who can shift into wolves is decreasing, mates are very well known about). Sofia and Aaron also both come from families with wolves in them, so the fact that this isn’t leveraged more to explain some of the traits of the wolves seems like an obvious miss. In my mind, as the story sets it up, both Aaron and Sofia should know as children of alphas what’s going to happen to them, even if Sofia was expecting her sister to be the wolf. On that note, there was a lot about the properties of the werewolves that just seemed dropped into our (the readers’) laps. Despite the fact that both of these POV characters come from lines of wolves and packs of wolves - hell, that’s the whole crux of the story, that Sofia and Aaron meet because she’s swapped to maintain bonds between the two packs. On that note, too, the fact that Aaron’s pack mates are as hostile as they are doesn’t make sense to me. They called the truce on the fighting between their packs and have made this arrangement to try to strengthen ties between the two packs because of the dwindling number of wolves between them. I’m even surprised there weren’t more efforts within the story to try to introduce pack members between the two packs to have more children and increase the odds of having children that turn into wolves. It seems like there’s logic to a lot of the wolf hierarchy, abilities, and functions, but that not a lot of the connections that could be made, are. Aaron’s mother is also very one-dimensional. She’s portrayed as a harpy and controlling, and while there are so many angles this story could have taken, none of them are pursued. It’s mentioned several times that she’s dropping something into her own drink - something medicinal, but not an analgesic, as Aaron tells us, and very smelly at that - but there’s no indication what it is or why she’s taking it. Is someone making her take it? And to what end? Political manipulation? (I half expected Aaron’s uncle to be drugging her, to make her more susceptible and sway what Aaron was doing as alpha-to-be). But no, she’s just a b!tch for next to no reason, with a mean political bent because… the story needs an antagonist? This also hit me especially hard when Aaron was describing the mental degradation his father had undergone - which was a wonderful piece of world building, and I loved that it was described as “no human mind was built to live that long” - and I went, Oh, so his mother’s controlling because she’s trying to usurp the Alpha as political leader in his mental fogginess! Nice! Honestly, I was half expecting we’d find that she’d murdered the Alpha and fully stepped into that political role, all the while claiming her right to do so as his mate. But beyond trying to force a “better” marriage for Aaron, there’s very little to support this point, if this is her motivation in the story. Without a motivation like this, it would seem the character is just sort of doing whatever to be an antagonist towards Aaron and Sofia - and you need that for a story, don’t get me wrong - but it just hits so much harder when that antagonistic belief/action is rooted in character traits. I was also surprised that Aaron’s mother was the alpha’s mate, because you’d think that would mean that she could be sympathetic towards Sofia or could derive some connection to Sofia. But, unfortunately, the connection wasn’t made. I’m also glad that the story wraps up a lot of the plot points (especially the reveal Aaron creates with his father towards the end), but still, the epilogue felt very sudden. And, ironically, Sofia having the baby made me wonder about what a young wolf’s life is like - exactly what indicates that a child would become a wolf? And when? And what are the developmentally appropriate age markers of a baby wolf shifter? But the fact that this was just an epilogue to fast-forward to Sofia having the child felt misplaced. I would think it’d be something about whether or not the kid was going to be a wolf or not (see my previous comment about developmentally-appropriate wolf traits) and what that meant for the future of the two packs. Otherwise, it seemed having Aaron and Sofia meet up again, clear the air about what they’d individually been told, and Sofia reveal that she was pregnant would seem to suit just fine as an ending to the story. There was a lot about Moonlight Reborn that was really promising. There were a lot of potentially interesting concepts within the story that just… didn’t seem to get followed up on, and also a lot of considerations of the world as it is built in the story that aren’t, well, considered. The result is that the world building is haphazard and leaves me feeling more confused than resolved at the end of the story.

** Please note I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. ** This was my first foray into the paranormal wolf-shifter romance novels and I have to say...I was NOT disappointed. Side Note: You might have noticed (or not) that in choosing which bookshelves to put this on, I chose both "comeuppance" and "no comeuppance". That's because some got it, while others did not. Read it and you'll understand. This story was about Sophia, the eldest daughter of the Alpha of the Edgeriver tribe, and as such, she was expected to shift into the form of a wolf. However, she was considered "too weak, too scrawny, all awkward elbows and knobby knees" to ever become a wolf. So instead the Alpha made a treaty with a neighboring pack to do "an exchange of the firstborn children of the alphas". In agreeing to the trade, the two packs formed a peace treaty and a call to an end to the war between them...especially since neither pack could afford the loss of any more wolves. Both packs were dangerously short on producing new wolves. Therefore, at the age of thirteen, Sophia was traded to the Stonevalley wolves, while Erik...the heir and eldest child of the Stonevalley wolves...was traded to the Edgeriver tribe...neither to ever see their birth families again for the threat of breaking the treaty and thus starting a new war. They were to consider themselves family in their new pack...although both knew they would be considered nothing more than hostages. Flash forward five years. Sophia was now 18 and expected to attend a moon ceremony. It was "the night of the vernal equinox", which happened to be a full moon. This ceremony occurred during the first full moon after a pack member turned 18, and Sophia's birthday had been just two weeks earlier...although she had no expectations of shifting since she had not done so since her birth. However, as the ceremony began, she felt strange things happening to her body, and...she shifted for the first time in her life. After allowing her new wolf to run free for a brief time, Sophia made her way back to her new family. As she had suspected five years earlier, she wasn't very welcome by most of the pack members. However, as she returned to her room, she ran into the one person she hadn't expected...or wanted, to meet. It was Aaron, the Stonevalley Alpha's heir (also an Alpha. Aaron was also the twin brother of Erik, who was traded for Sophia). During the course of their conversation, Aaron reached out to grab Sophia's arm...and they both felt heat spark between them. Aaron looked at his hand and noticed a marking appear. At the same time, Sophia looked at her arm and saw an identical mark appear on her arm. They both realized what the marks meant...the two of them were considered to be soulmates, ordained by the Goddess. That's the premise of this story and, let me tell you, it did not let me down from start to finish. It had everything you could hope for and more than you could ask for. It had heat, it had angst, and it was full of the push/pull of a relationship no one ever expected (and some did NOT want). There was humor, fear, anxiety, bullying, suspense, betrayal, and so much more. While the ending seemed a bit abrupt, I was thinking it might have been because the author was thinking of making it a cliffhanger for oh, I don't know...possibly a second book? Especially as there were many unanswered questions and several unresolved issues. It would be nice to see how things play out with Aaron's brother and other secondary characters in the book. (Just a suggestion! :) ) Now, this book definitely deserved a five-star rating, and I will also be including it in my Keeper for the Shelves collection once it has been released for ordering.
I got an ARC ebook copy of this for an honest review.
If you want a cuddle up on a crappy day read with some hot chocolate (because I don't drink coffee and I have to be in the mood for tea) then this is it.
Aaron and Sophia are just gahhh so perfect. It's not often you read a romance/fantasy/supernatural book where both mc's are virgins, but im liking that fact in this book.
Sophia was traded with Aaron's older brother Erik to be his "sister" to stop a war between both packs. Aaron's pack does not like Sophia as she is an outsider and not of their pack (boohoo get over it) Sophia is described as weak but very beautiful, and she has a wolf where most people don't anymore. I was hoping because her wolf is described as massive and black that maybe we would get some wolf fights or something like that (I Blame wattpad for that) but we didn't, infact I think she only shifts 3 times in the book.
The alpha of the pack is sick as we are told that with living for so long, the human part can't cope with the wolf part and so he is not coherent all the time and calls Aaron Erik. We only meet the alpha near the end of the book as all communication between Aaron and his father come from his mother (who's a giant bitch) when they have tea together. His mother does not like Sophia and tries to sabotage their relationship by trying to marry him off to some other girl(ew). Said mother also tells Sophia that she's welcome so be Aaron's whore not wife (lmfao bitch please).
In the end they get married secretly, then announced to the whole pack they are soulmates and are together and then have a baby. The end. That's it. I want more, because Aaron was such a sweetie and I feel like there could be way more to the story and I have some unanswered questions. I just need maybe another book about them and what happens now?! Like do they end up having issues with the wanna be wolves but are stuck being sucky humans that are just bitter, or like does everyone just love them now, like BAM she's my wife and soulmate and we have a baby so you all better be happy with it.
Lol sorry I had to just say all that.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adored this book and probably will be reading it again. So.... GO READ IT 😊

I'm giving this story a 3.5, rounded up to 4. The premise of the story was interesting: centries long war between 2 pack, exchanging the eldest child as part of a peace treaty. It was fast paced, but I felt like the climax was too early. And the big "surprise" towards the end was extremely predictable. I think I'd categorize this as a smut book more than anything.
****Spoilers ahead****
I felt like there should have been a little bit more build up of both characters before they touched and became marked. I just wanted a crumb more of their personalities before hand. What did they enjoy doing in their free time? Even after they started doing the deed, I wish learned more about them. They just only constantly has sex. No deep conversations about what they like to do or who they are as people.
There was also a few lines that were repetitive. And I HATED the fact that they used the word "abortion" twice to refer when a pregnant wolf loses control of their wolf, transforms, and loses their baby. They lost control. They didn't do it on purpose. And then the 3rd time it was mentioned, the author finally called it a miscarry. Those are 2 different things.
Which leads me to the "surprise". I hate pregnancy tropes, and she was only 18 😒 and they were together for what, a month? It was also very predictable. And was that supposed to be the climax? The biggest climax of the story was the beheading in the beginning.
I wish I would've read more about her wolf. She was this huge beast and she only pulled her out to show off to some girl who was talking crap?
And I guess the part that I was most disappointed in was the fact they never got to see their families? Once she had the baby, that was the perfect opportunity to keep peace. A child born from both packs? I wanted a family reunion, even if it was just so her family could meet the baby. The twins could see each other for a moment. It would've been cool to combine the packs for peace.
Honestly, you may enjoy this better than I did. The story is dual POV, and I did not see any additional reason why the male's POV was used. His character did not seem any clearer from inside. Plus, the actual romance was too sweet; he dotes on her. And way too detailed. I prefer shorter sex scenes.
The plot: ============== From years of warfare and inbreeding the wolf shifter population has imploded. Making matters worse is that few people have the capacity to turn. The clans finally agreed to arrange a hostage swap, but for 5 years Sofia felt like an outcast. When she hits the lottery and becomes a shifter, she refuses to recognize her situation has improved.
Talk about clueless and stupid.
The second son who is now the heir is far from the scrawny older son, but he is willing to accept the union, if only she would listen 👂!
When Sofia finally admits she has been prejudiced, they consummate their relationship. "I didn’t have a place back at my birth home anymore, and I would never truly belong here in the land of my enemies, either. But I belonged with Aaron."
The shifters: ============= The wolf wanted her in his arms, claiming those plush lips. Say what? Separating the wolf from the man logically would make the wolf want something else!
To be fair, the werewolves here have a new trait I have not seen before: when shifting they feel pain after. It makes sense.
Otherwise you get what you expect, which is a positive thing.
-bullying academy romance but not from the mc -fated mates -weak mc Sofia -dual pov -second son Aaron -overly protective mmc -not really alpha -steamy and detailed 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🌶️ -Unprotected sex -Unexpected baby -Virgin “ruined” (i never understood that 🤔)
When two different wolf shifter pack's want to end the war between them, they decide to trade the alpha's first borns to each others packs. So when Sofia is traded to the other pack she and Aaron become siblings but not really. Because Sofia can't shift and is very small, everyone treats her badly in her new home. That really made me mad and I felt really bad for her. She is never allowed to go home because she belongs to the other pack and they will shoot each other if they cross the borders between the two packs.
Sofia is picked on through the years she is there and she and Aaron don't really have much to do with each other since he is the Alpha's son he has a lot of responsibilities. But one day when Sofia is older she and Aaron run into each other and after one accidental touch, they both know they are soulmates. But something else happens too, Sofia feels her wolf for the first time and she shifts for the first time. She doesn't want anyone to know though so she tries to keep it a secret. Aaron can't stop thinking about her even though she keeps pushing him away because he never liked her and now just because fate has chosen them to be mates he's sniffing around her and she doesn't like it.
But the bullying gets a lot worse and so when Aaron comes to her rescue, they can't deny that they have feelings for each other any longer. But his family causes problems and they have to overcome yet another obstacle in their way.
I felt so bad for Sofia because she can never go home and her new pack treated her so badly. It wasn't right at all. But this ended up being such a good book and the ending was so good. I was so happy for her.
Couldn't get enough of this book!!! It's not often that I get to read actual shifters, so that was a nice change of pace. This world also had world building that I could get behind. When you're first introduced to it, two packs are struggling to obtain peace. One way to go do that is by trading the oldest child of each pack's alpha. Which leaves Sofia thrown into a world that sees her as an outcast. It was nice to get a little bit of insight as to how things started. So when the story moved forward, you find an older Sofia who is just trying to make it day by day with a pack that still doesn't want her there. Her being amongst them isn't their top problem. Something else plagues their kind and it's getting worse. The last thing Sofia expects is to be blessed by the goddess with an amazing gift. Not that it was the only gift she was destined to receive. So when Aaron is pulled into the mix in a unique way, it was nice to see how he responded to fate. Seeing him grow as a character was nice. The way his point of view about Sofia changed, leading HIM to change -- I absolutely loved that. Plus, their growing bond had me reacting out loud!! (Yep, even out in public for dinner LOL) There were parts that had me on the edge of my seat...parts that had me flushing red....and characters that drove me up the wall. I was sucked in from start to finish. Miyo did a fantastic job that's got me hungry for more! I can't wait to get more of this world!!
The plot was sweet. It could have been exactly what I liked. However, I felt that the relationship between the characters was not developed. I understand they are fated mates, but we never actually see them interact and talk for more than smut. Not to mention, chapters jumped too quickly from one character to the next. Almost like the author couldn't choose who should be the "main" point of view for one scene, so we got to experience the same scene cut up from both perspectives. But it was too much. There were scenes that were chopped up into about 5 or 6 chapters or something just so we could get the perspective of the H or h. I found this really slowed down the plot.
A lot of aspects were left open, like there were ideas for a more developed plot. The author brought up elements that could have made for an original story that could have helped the world-building, could have impacted the main characters... but in the end, they kind of just floated around for a bit, and then they were dropped. Maybe the author plans to explore them in later books, but if so, not enough detail was provided to keep me invested. I liked the plot idea enough that I would be willing to try a second book, but I would like to see more depth in a future book otherwise I won't be able to continue.
*I received a review copy from the author for my voluntary and honest review
Sofia is the daughter of the alpha of the River pack and was thought she would never receive her wolf as she was a smaller, meek human. Aaron is the son of the alpha of the Stone pack, forced to be the next leader. Their packs had been at war for decades when a truce was reached which had Sofia go to the stone pack and Aaron's brother to the river pack. Despite the fact she is to be treated as family, Sofia knows deep down that she is basically a hostage. After her first shift she comes home and encounters Aaron who grabs her and to both their surprises their mate mark sparks across their skin marking them as fated mates.
This was a cute little novel of fated mates and HEA. And it was a quick read. The tension between the two is palpable. Although there were two things that kind of irked me. First was how oblivious Aaron seemed about how Sofia had felt since she’d been there. Second there was a character death that seemed to link to a bigger plot device that just went nowhere. No resolution to whether it was just speculation or whether it was real. That being said though I did enjoy the book and will read more.
Editing to add there is a separate chapter in Miyos newsletter that comes after the HEA. So super cute.
Ah the surprise pregnancy trope. While i do find it nice when a couple become pregnant after they have saved the world and firmly settled into their life. The sudden pregnancy between new very newly mated very young couples do kinda put me off.
Nonetheless Aaron was not the total ass i took him for and was happy that they found happiness. I do feel like a lot more things needed explaining tho..
Why is the alpha sick? What is going with his mom? Why are they struggling with conceiving? Why did that dude attack her? What was the reason behind a lot of things?
But anyhooo it was a nice quick read with mild spice. Could also just seem mild as i just finished a series by Jaymin Eve. Which had spicy spice. 🌶️
Mediocre. I’ve read fanfictions written by high schoolers better than this. The build up to the characters getting together was so rushed that they lacked chemistry throughout the entire book. I thought the plot would expand in the second book, only to find out it’s a trilogy of standalones featuring different couples! So we will never know where the silver that was used came from, if there was an overarching plot, if there was a reason for the protagonist’s wolf to be so big and powerful—seriously why was that stressed so much if there wasn’t going to be a battle of some kind? The sex scenes were extremely basic. Despite the short book length, it felt like a chore to finish. Altogether, it seemed like the author tried to throw as many tropes as they could into this book. Wouldn’t recommend.
i always eat urban fantasy up it’s my guilty pleasure. this was such a unique take on mates on how their world worked. there wasn’t that many characters and honestly the fact they are called enemies to lovers is kind of ….. laughable cuz when were they enemies???? also many plot lines were just kind of left unanswered? unless they are tbc in the next few books (but i don’t think so) so that’s suspect BUT anyways the vibes were fun and this was a quick and easy read and im about to gobble up the rest of this series.
yet another fun vibes book that you just have to not take too seriously to enjoy because if you do take it seriously you’ll just be like ………wtf why really anyways THIS IS FUN
Sofia has to go to live with the other wolf pack as part of the treaty. She lives there for several years, just existing, until the day she turns. She is scared and frightened and wants to hide. Fate has other ideas when she pairs her with Aaron, the alphas second born son. As soon as he knows she is his mate his world changes, his priorities change. The trouble, is that he need to convince Sofia of this! This is a great story, that immerses you from the first page. The characters are so well rounded, that you root for them straight away. I want to see more of this world, especially what happens to the other first born child, Aaron’s twin!
Why, why, why did I not heed the low rating of this book.
I struggled with this book as it was lacking in too many things for me to enjoy it.
Sofia gets traded to the wolves to prevent a war. We are given no details as to how her life is with the wolves. No detail as to who she is, there was no description of her, so I found it hard to picture her.
We are given no detail about the family she is living with. Who they are what is their dynamic nothing!
We just get thrown into 5 years later when she shifts and no one sees or knows about it.
Then we get to meet Aaron out of the blue, no build up nothing and he is her mate.
The characters are engaging, the writing is excellent. The plot is interesting. The problem is the book is too short. It feels rushed and skimpy. There were so many things that could have been elaborated on to turn this into a real book instead it felt more like I'd just read a synopsis of a real book. I'm not a fan do short stories for this exact reason. Most authors don't know how to write one. You shouldn't feel as if the story has been cut short or lacking in detail. There should be no loose ends. A promising story that was not adequately explored. Disappointing.
Finding a PNR world shifter romance that stands out today is hard. This one does! Sofia as a child is sent in a, in my opinion, a dumb treaty between two feuding packs. Of course, our girly finds her mate in the enemy pack. Seeing the two mates choosing between pack loyalty and the bond was awesome. There was a moment where I didn’t know what would happen next, and I couldn’t guess the twist. These days it's hard to bamboozle me into not knowing the twist, so it was a happy moment to be surprised. It's not that long of a book either, so I recommend it if you need a quick spicy read.
I received an arc of this book. I really liked the idea of this story. I wish there would have been more backstory to kind of explain things and that there were more characters. The 2 main characters did not interact with anyone else in the book unless they absolutely had to. In the beginning, it kinda had the feel that it wasn't set in modern-day, but at one point, the mc goes to a convenient store and gets beef jerky and chips.
The book was a short and sweet read. Plot wasn’t flushed out very well. A lot of the turmoil resolved itself so quickly with no full explanation on how it was brushed over. I wanted to know more about the relationship between the two backs. I wanted to know more about who the main characters were separate from each other. It kind of read like a werewolf fan fiction which is great when you’re in the mood for something light.
Tropes: “Enemies” to lovers, Pregnancy, Fated Mates, HEA
Its a pretty good book, interesting. Fate has a way of intervening to make things happen. Wicked witch of Aaron's mother is. Father who can't remember things. But a love formed by hate. Wanted to read book 2 of this series but its not out until the end of this year. But its strange you can get & read book 3. That's a little out of line I think. So I'll just wait to read #3 until book 2 comes out. Then read them in order. Read on my peeps it is a fairly good book.
