Wrecked . It’s how Jasmine Delaney found me. The truth was, I’d been heading down a one-way street to destruction for a long time. I raced - illegally . I drank - excessively . I slept with women - indiscriminately . There was no escape in sight. That is, until I met her . She made me feel whole again, nurturing my heart right along with my soul. But right when I had a reason to be a better man…I did what I always warned her about. I wrecked it. She should have stayed away.
Orchids . It's how Campbell Baxter crawled into my heart. The truth was, I’d been walking down a lonely path for far too long. I loved - passionately . I gave - freely . I cared - easily. There was no one worth the risk. That is, until I met him . He lit my insides on fire, engulfing me in a love like I'd never felt before. But right when everything was in our favor and I’d found what I was looking for…he did what he warned me about. He wrecked me. I should have believed him.
This book contains characters from the book Wronged, however, it does not need to be read first. It also contains subject matter that may be upsetting to some readers. TW/CW: Alcohol abuse. Drug Use. Driving under the influence. Death of a loved one. Adult themes. Language. Mention of sexual assault. Parental neglect.
Originally from down under, Rin now resides in a frozen wonderland where she spends her time writing stories that are sure to tug at your heartstrings. Rin's books are raw and do not shy away from addressing hard, real-life struggles that many readers can relate to, along with flawed and believable characters who manage to fall in love under various situations.
And I thought that only Jacob (from “Wronged”) was the most tortured soul from the group... how wrong of me... 💔
Campbell An outcry of an abandoned and rejected soul… A tragic figure… A wreck...
Rin Sher delivered a deep psychological approach (psychograph) of Campbell, where she captured and analysed traumatic experiences. The author created a shocking psychograph by delving into the depths of the soul of a broken hearted and lonely man, who carried the burden of rejection on his shoulders, as well as guilt for letting down his friend Jacob.
The pain of his soul bled my heart. He was trying. He was fighting. But he was failing.
Campbell was drowning in his struggles and pushing away any hope, any light, that would put his shattered pieces back together. I wanted to give him the hug and warmth he was so undeservedly deprived of. Jasmine was trying to rescue him from his darkness but his demons wouldn’t let him.
Filled with intensely charged scenes, desperation. An incredible loneliness of soul. A tough peek at the dangers of addiction.
The journey to catharsis was wrenching and heart rending. How many boundaries can a person overcome in order to redeem himself from his past?...
I wanted a closure of Cam and his family. As my friend Anna Valsa mentioned, it would have been great if there was a chapter with Campbell and Jacob’s reconnection from Campbell’s pov. The ending was rushed compared to the extent of the story.
Regardless, it was a great story, amazingly written and I hope that when Rin Sher concludes with the stories of the other characters, she might gift us with a story where all loose ends are tied up and we can see all characters 10 years later to their ‘epilogue’. 🙏🤞
Wrecked is a very appropriate title for this book, because it absolutely wrecked me! I had no idea when I picked up this book by a new to me author that I would end up staying up all night, completely enthralled and crying over this story.
Jasmine is the perfect nurse, genuinely caring and nurturing to her core. However, she sometimes struggles to make time for herself. That is, until she meets Cam, the tortured soul, deep down a path of self destruction through illegal street racing and far too many other vices. Together, they could be a perfect match, or they could be each other’s destruction.
Wrecked had everything I love in a story - characters that you absolutely fall in love with, wonderful side characters, an angsty slow burn romance, plenty of steam, and ALL the emotions. I can’t wait to read more from the very talented Rin Sher!
Cam's life was turned around when he was 18 and he never really felt whole enough to make it right again. His parents turned their backs on him. Everyone he knew dropped him so fast that he just did what he had to survive - and punish himself for the guilt he carried.
He meets Jasmine, who is so genuinely kind, and these two sad and lonely people are just finding comfort, company, and a little intimacy with one another. But it isn't quite enough. Cam is still putting himself through hell every chance he gets and Jaz is ignoring every single red flag he's waving at her.
This is a slower paced story but I really enjoyed it. These two are both understated characters with depth that felt like it needed a slow introduction to really get a feel for who they were. The profound sadness that Cam carried on his shoulders was hard to read in certain scenes. He broke my heart over and over again.
My favorite part of this book though was even though Cam was so self-destructive in his despair, Jaz didn't allow herself to be his doormat. Yeah, she spent some time being blind to certain behaviors but never at the cost of her dignity.
This story is beautiful and heartbreaking. These two main characters are relatable and well written!
I absolutely loved this book. Cam has my heart. He’s a mess, he’s at the lowest point in his life and is so broken but he was written so well. Your heart will break for him but also fall in love with him. Jaz was also fantastic with her own struggles to deal with. Their journey to a HEA is a rocky one that will take you in an emotional rollercoaster but the ride is so worth it. Can’t wait for the next book!
This is was very good and very emotional. After DNFing so many books lately, I was glued to this.
I loved Jasmine and honestly, for most of the book, I felt like she deserved better than Cam. I just got so tired of his self sabotage. But I will tell you, the end truly turned it around for me. This book was extremely well written and I truly felt the emotions of these characters.
I LOVED this book. Rin Sher's plots are amazing. I headed into this book, still having a hangover from Book 1 in the series, Wronged. I loved how all of the characters are interconnected and weave in and out of each others stories. Like Wronged, Wrecked absolutely devastated my heart but slowly healed it too. Campbell and Jasmine were the cutest, despite the heavy subject matter in the story, and I will definitely need to reread this book again.
Wordy. A lot of telling instead of allowing to me to come up with my own conclusion. Too many descriptions. To Jasmine…Great you own a Keurig. I don’t care!!! Nothing about these characters interested me. I do not know if Campbell’s friend raped that girl, but his parents’ reaction should have affected him more than not going to that trial. With all the drugs… The story felt forced. Let me decide how to feel. And I do not care about Jasmine’s BFF or her kid. Heroine brought nothing. Hero drinks and does some serious drugs. Good luck folks. You may like it. Enjoy the show.
It was so neat to see the tradegy that happened with Jacob in Wronged from another character's pov and how it affected him and his life.
He spiraled out of control after the way his best friend's trial was handled, how his parents reacted to what happened and took him away from his friends, also the the fact he believed Jacob was innocent when others did not.
Campbell's struggles are real and raw. The fact he spirals numerous times and keeps messing up makes his character dynamic and growth so powerful. It's well written. You feel for this hunky damaged bad boy with a ween piercing.
I just love Jasmine. Everything about her character is like a breath of fresh air and exactly what Campbell needs to push him in the right direction to straighten up his life. They are opposites but work so well together. Campbell and Jasmine's love story is so real and relatable.
I loved the first book, Wronged, but I think this may be my favorite.

Wow! I've been waiting for this since I read Wronged, and it did not disappoint!! While completely different, it still held my interest just as much, if not more, than the last book. Cam was such a mess. One minute I wanted to shake him, and the next minute I wanted to hug him. I truly loved his character. Jasmine, what a sweet beautiful person she was. Exactly what was needed to counteract Cam's wild ways. She's definitely someone I'd want as a friend. All of the side characters were awesome as well, especially Graham!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next!!!!!
What a whirlwind!! The emotions in this book were more intense than the others. I loved Cam and hated him and then loved him even more. Jaz was amazing and a beautiful soul. I teared up a little bit and the spice was really good. So I was all over the place. Can’t wait to read everyone else’s books
The emotions I went through while reading Wrecked... I cried, I laughed, I was on the edge of my seat, I hated Campbell, I loved Campbell and I hated Campbell again 😂 I loved Wrecked and feel like it is a great second book for this series. I've been reading Rin Sher's books from the very beginning and love her writing style and how she's not afraid of life's tough issues. I can't wait to read Neil's story next!!
Loved! Stayed up til almost 3am trying to finish, this was one of those books where i wanted to remain in that story and hear more about those characters.
This story contains characters from the book 𝘞𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥, but does not need to be read first. This book follows Campbell, a bad-boy on the path of self-destruction, and Jasmine, the woman who’s the calm to his storm.
We get to see from Campbell’s perspective how he handles the incident that happened to his best friend Jacob and the aftermath it took on his life and family. How he was uprooted from everything and everyone he knew to starting over and the effects of that transition. As an adult, Campbell begins to race cars illegally, starts drinking excessively and has a revolving door of women to help fill the void in his life. Ultimately, this further makes his life spiral out of control and he loses his grasp on reality. One night his choices get him trouble and he crosses paths with the effervescent Jasmine.
Jasmine is the ultimate girl next door. She loves with her whole heart, and is always willing to see the good in everyone. She has her own demons to face from a past tragedy but it doesn’t deter her from helping others and providing a shining light on their darkest of days. When she meets Cam for the first time, her whole world is turned upside down. She knew she should of stayed away from the man who could wreck her, but the pull was too strong to ignore.
Rin did a phenomenal job highlighting the struggles of these characters and how they handled the obstacles that were thrust into their lives. There were times I wanted to smack Cam upside the head, but then there were times I wanted to jump into the pages and hug him. The relationship these two had was fire and ice, and the ups and downs left you breathless but cheering for them at the same time. I was consumed with this story and couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for a story that will pull you in, consume your heart and soul, and leave you utterly breathless, then read this! I promise it’s a book that you will be thinking about for days.
I have been so excited to get Campbell’s story after meeting him in Wronged, which was Jacob’s story. Seeing Jacob’s trials and how they affected Cameron was gut wrenching.
When we meet Cameron here, he is spiraling on a path to destruction. Feeling the universe seems to be against him, his life centers around illegal street racing, alcohol, drugs, and sex. He’s the definition of bad boy and an accident just waiting to happen.
Then his path crossed with Jasmine, who seems to give peace in his chaos. Jaz is the light in the dark, the perfection that seems just out of his reach no matter how close she truly is. Jaz struggles with her own bad cards that life has dealt her, but she handles it with a level of grace and strength that’s admirable. Jaz is a nurse and at the heart of her being is to take care of people and she immediately wants to take care of Cam.
Be ready to feel the angsty push and pull, the ups and downs, the way spicy sexy time, and feel two hearts trying to join together despite all of the roadblocks. Rin does such a great job showcasing both character’s feelings and internal struggles. And it’s also worth mentioning how perfect she writes his addictions. I felt so much for Cam … one moment I wanted to throw the book as I was so mad at him and the next felt so much empathy for him.
I loved wronged for so many reasons and that is why I chose to read wrecked. I love a good bad boy with trauma, meets a nice girl who saves him trope and this book didn’t disappoint in that sense. It was a nice prelude to Jacobs story in wronged and it was cool getting to know his friends in this book. There are definitely quite a few “tingly” Spicy scenes iykwim. I will say though that there were some parts of the book that felt a little repetitive, unnecessary and dare I say boring? But all in all if you like a feel-good, bad boy HEA I definitely suggest you check this book out (and read wronged too!)
When an author can make you feel a multitude of feelings toward a single character throughout a book and then ultimately make you love them, I say they've done a fantastic job. That's what this author did. I felt SO MANY emotions not only throughout the story in general, but toward Cam. He was such a real character and I love that!! Jasmine was so sweet, absolutely what he needed to get his life on track. Can't recommend this story enough! Definitely a top one for me <3
This story will rip your heart out and slowly stitch it back together. It brings all the feels with it as Cam works through the guilt and heartache of his past. Jasmine is truly an angel who tries to help him until he wrecks her heart. This was definitely a HEA that was hard fought for.
This was a fantastic story! The way the MC's addiction was depicted was done so so well. I was impressed. Totally loved this story. Even the OW drama. In this case, it was needed. Well done! Loved it and can't wait for the next!

This book has many dark scenes so please check the trigger warnings. This story was brilliant and written impeccably. I hope the author continues writing and we can all read about these characters once again!
I love flawed characters who have a big redemption arc and Cam definitely fits the bill. The relationship is complicated but does give you a HEA. Nice and spicy! Definitely a great read!
I loved this book. I was hooked from the start and I didn't want to put it down. This is the second book I've read by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more.
My review is written after listening to the audio version of this book.
This book is an emotional roller coaster which had me hooked and drawn into Cameron, aka Cam's, story. It's the second book in The Broken Souls series. The first one, Wronged, introduced us to Cam before the demons, and guilt took its toll on him, and I highly recommend listening to that one first, although this one can be listened to as a stand-alone. I loved Wronged for so many reasons, and that is why I chose to listen to Wrecked
Cam's life was forever changed when he was 18, when Jacob, his best friend, was wrongly accused of a crime, and he was unable to help him. Then his parents moved Cam and his sister to a new town, and then they simply turned their backs on him. He felt so alone, he was deemed guilty by association, which meant that everyone he knew wanted nothing to do with him, so he just did what he had to survive - but he punished himself for the guilt he carried because he couldn't help his friend.
But everything changed when he met Jasmine, aka Jazz, a girl with issues of her own, but who is so genuinely kind that he allows her into his life. Somehow, these two sad and broken people find comfort, company, and intimacy together, but it isn't quite enough to stop Cam putting himself through hell every chance he gets. Jaz, for her part, chooses to ignore the red flag he's waving at her and finds herself wrecked by him. This is when she makes a decision which forces Cam to take a good, long look at his life and decide what he wants going forward.
Cam and Jazz are both such well-drawn characters that I felt like I knew them and could feel every emotion they did. Cam's profound sadness and the guilt he wrongly carried on his shoulders were hard to hear at times; my heart was broken for him over and over again. When Jazz finally stood her ground and made him take a long, hard look at his life, I was so relieved and began to hope that they might have a chance of happiness. Cam's love for Jazz and his determination to overcome his problems, so they could be together, made such a moving conclusion to their story. Their story will break your heart in ways you're not expecting. But it's a story you don't want to miss, it's a truely emotional rollercoaster while listening to Wrecked, I laughed and cried and was on the edge of my seat,
This beautiful and heartbreaking story is wonderfully narrated by Grayson Owens and M.K. Blackwood; they brought the characters to life and made me feel every emotion. I loved the story and the way it was performed.
I was looking forward to Cam's book. This book kept my interest, but there were things that left me confused. I feel that this should have been the first book in the series. The way this book ended would have made sense to read Jacob's book next.
I could understand someone feeling guilty for the things Cam felt guilty about. I felt that he used it as an excuse not to grow up & be responsible. I also had a hard time with him never trying to find out where Jacob was and visiting him. They were best friends their whole lives. It just didn't make sense to me. I also thought his parents reaction was unbelievable. It might have been put in the book to understand his downward spiral, but it was unrealistic to me. The fact that they knew he wasn't even there and was at home, made it that much more ridiculous to me.
Then comes Jaz. She was sunshine in his dark world. I'm not sure I ever felt their connection. I also couldn't understand how she brushed his drinking & driving under the rug the way she did. Not only was she a nurse, but her parents died in a car accident. I also found her weak. It felt like she was trying to be portrayed as a strong h, but it didn't come across like that. She forgave too easily and ignored major red flags.
This book was good, regardless of the beginning of this review. It kept my interest & I read it in a couple of days, but I think my interest was that I was expecting more than it delivered.
The writing was good & I will recommend this book to anyone looking for a broken hero.
You know just how I love to start off my romance books? With the MMC just finished having sex with a rando and then proceeding with his day. Charming, right?
This book did not work for me at all. Dude was so concerned with his friend but didn't even tried to visit him or find out more about him for 5 years? Sure.
And his parents just went off and treated him like that? With absolutely no context or background to their relationship before? Sure.
And instead of actually having a life he could be proud of and to show his parents he was a decent person, he chose drugs, sex and street racing? Sure.
Book had good bones but terrible execution.
I'm just too cynical for this type of story. Sorry not sorry. Cam was not attractive as a MMC at all. He was a major red flag (and not the good kind). How could Jasmine possible settle for the bare minimum, I'll never understand. But she was enabling him, so I guess there's that. Apart from giving her flowers, he never really anything for her and ended up drunk more times than not.
TROPES: street racing opposites attract bad boy x good girl tortured hero jealous/ possessive hero
This one took me for a ride! Lots of emotional, tub at your heart moments. In the end it wrapped up nicely but my gosh you had to go through the tough stuff first!
I loved seeing the relationship develop between our two MCs...think very much bad boy x good girl vibes. He is a street racer with an addiction problem, and she is a nurse. They had a little meet cute but a bit after he winds up in the hospital after an accident and she is there helping him.
If you haven't read book 1 I do suggest reading it first because you get some of his backstory and why he is the way that he is.
The audio was also great. Grayson Owen and MK Blackwood brought the emotion guys... ALL THE FEELS!!!!
Well, I will have to look for a light rom-com now, I have now read three Broken Souls books in a row and now I'm wrecked.
Campbell is such a tortured soul. The catalyst, his best friend Jacob was falsely accused and convicted of rape. You can imagine how bad those years were for Jacob. In this book we find out how it affected Cam.
Fortunately, he meets Jasmine who is a nurse and a very caring soul. But is Cam too far gone? Jazz has her own problems and can't deal with Cam's too.
This book had all the angst and psychological problems. It also had happy and steamy moments. There were also some very interesting support characters. I hope that Graham will get his own book too.
Ohhh Cam 🥰🥹😘 Each guy in this friend circle, are so different in their personalities yet still best friends. But one night, one bad decision, connected them in the most unfortunate way. Campbell is still struggling, years later. He doesn’t feel he deserves someone as amazing as his saving grace, Jasmine. Constantly torn between holding on too tight or letting go completely, has him making more questionable choices. Jasmine sees the beautiful soul underneath all the chaos. Their chemistry, their connection is palpable! Their story has been one of my favorites in the Broken Souls series!
