Yep!!! It's officially... J.L. is trying to drive me crazy!!!!

It's like i've been in hell and i forgot to return back...
I'm only a human, how many stabs could i bare in my heart, ugh????
First you broke me, then you shattered me!!! What's next???
Oh, God!!! I will die... I can't take it anymore!!!

When i was about to feel joy, it gave me a strong hit and brought me down on my knees!!!
Yes!!! The first story was enough heartbroken, but this one was more...
In some point i couldn't breath and i couldn't stop the tears dropped from my eyes!!!

I need a very GREAT and HAPPY ending here, as a repayment for what i've been through!!!
Did i mention that i really loved AND this book???

Yeah, i know... I am the biggest majochist ever!!!!

Well, after that awful ending in "Broken" which left us hugging about Cole's and Savannah's fate, i was praying to God to give me something good!!!

I was speechless and i was hurting... I didn't know if they were still alive...
Thank God that my prayers were answered and gave me something good!!!
Yeah, Keith stop Savannah's hand of doing this awful action that she was going to do...

Yeah, i know, sweetie!!! You thought you lost everything you loved, but you've been through so much shit already!!! This is not a solution...

She was hurting so badly when she found out about Cole's murder that her heart shattered irreparably!!!
From the other side, Cole's murder was proven fake and he managed to escape and to return safe home and to Savannah...


What a lovely conclusion, ugh????
No, no, no!!! That would be so easy!!!

The problems are not stopping there.... They are more and more... They are endless and unbarable!!!

First of all, Cole found out many things while he was held capture... and they weren't good at all...
Everyone Savannah loved from her previous life was full of lies...
Behind her kidnapping where hidden much more things... She's been a part of human-trafficking and the "American" wants her back...
He had paid for her and he won't rest until Savannah will be by his side...
Of course, Cole keeps all of that secret from her... and that's a very wrong thing to do because she found out about it!!!
And then she had to sneak out and go back to New York to seek for answers and all the hell broke down!!!


I really tell you guys that i was in an awful situation...
I was near to a breakdown in that point!!!
I couldn't hold back my tears...

I was dissapointed, angry and scared to death... I needed so bad Cole to find her before it was too late!!!
Why this girl have to suffer so much cruelty from everyone that once she trusted the most???

And the worst of all is that those monsters played with her mind and made her believe that Cole was lying to her.... Was that even possible???

For once again she's starting to losing her faith and trust to everyone, including the only man she ever loved!!!
So who's trustfull and who's not???
They will manage to rescue her for once again???

And if they'll do, Cole's and Savannah's love will survive????



Oh, L.J. I hate you for what you did to me!!!
Okay, i take it back. I won't hate you!!!

Ok First i will say that I like this book and
I love Cole and Savannah story but I have to be honest I think that this book was not as good as the first one...While reading it I felt that something was missing, There was not enough time to get excited about what's happening I think that everything happened too fast for me... But I'm glad that the third book will be published soon because i can not wait to see what will happen next for them.

This story keeps getting better. In book two a lot happens and more twisted plots. Some crying was happening to me as the story went. I has at the edge of my seat. The Author writes this story with so much passion and enthusiasm. I love the characters she developed even the bad guys. The sex scenes are hubba hubba!!! Excellent book two!!

The second instalment in this series is somehow just as good as the first! It both starts and ends with a bang, and there are quite a few intense twists and plot developments in between.
We get to know the side characters even more in this book, and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. The men who live in the house are all so freaking wonderful, and I just learned that there's a spin-off series. I can't wait to read about the other Blackstone men!
Mark, who is Cole's best friend, is also a good friend to Savannah. One thing I love about this series, which I briefly mentioned in the first book's review, is how Cole, an alpha male, doesn't exhibit those typical toxic masculinity features. Sure, Savannah is living in a house full of handsome men, but he never expresses jealousy. Mark grows to close to Savannah, and Cole is happy that she has someone she can rely on. Honestly, there's nothing more attractive than a man who isn't insecure and jealous all the time. I wish other romance novelists would take note of that!
All in all, another 5 star read in this trilogy!

A volte ci si trova davanti ai propri occhi una cover che ti ispira particolarmente, quando si inizia a leggere il libro ti rendi conto che per l’ennesima volta ti sei lanciata in una lettura di un libro che è il secondo volume di una serie. La cosa non mi ha fatto desistere e ho deciso di leggere entrambi, perchè a volte bisogna ascoltare l’istinto e devo dire che ho avuto ragione.

Come il solito non vi racconterò quasi nulla, chi legge le mie recensioni sa che odio gli spoiler e i riassunti che ti tolgono la voglia di leggere.

I protagonisti, Cole Logan e Savannah, sono due personaggi forti che nonostante le molte avversità si innamorano senza possibilità di scelta, riescono a ritagliarsi momenti di serenità e di amore.

Ho adorato leggere questo libro, l’autrice è bravissima nel tessere una trama ricca di intrighi e colpi di scena, ma anche a raccontarci una bellissima storia d’amore. Ad accompagnare la coppia c’è una girandola di personaggi che rendono tutto più speciale, personaggi forti determinati, ma anche divertenti, ironici che rendono il tutto molto piacevole.

L’autrice ha saputo caratterizzarli dettagliatamente, rendendoli quasi reali, apprezzo molto quando i personaggi prendono vita diventando quasi reali.

Non conoscevo questa autrice che mi ha veramente conquistato con il suo stile fluido e accattivante.

Consigliatissimo a chi ama le storie movimentate ed avvincenti, ma anche a chi ama i romance.

“Broken” ended with a cliffhanger, so we start from there. Savannah is devastated and her mind is playing with her.. So, she takes a decision to clear things up, but on the contrary the story gets more mixed. She discover that people who thought were family, have betrayed her more than once. With not revealing much, even Cole “turns” his back on her at the end. Author, developed the two main characters even more in this installment; let’s find how this story will end..

Con “Broken. Dammi un’altra possibilità” prosegue la serie “Broken” di J. L. Drake, una serie che mi aveva intrigato tantissimo con il primo volume ma che, ahimè, non ha avuto lo stesso successo con la seconda parte della storia, che prosegue con le vicende di Savi e Cole.
Continua la loro battaglia contro l’Americano, l’uomo che teneva Savannah prigioniera nel primo volume, e che, in questo libro, riesce di nuovo a rapirla.
Ripartiamo esattamente da dove ci eravamo lasciati e troviamo una Savi disperata per aver perso l’amore della sua vita e il loro bambino.
Questo volume si basa molto sul personaggio di Savannah, sui suoi sentimenti e sulle sue paure.
Leggiamo prima di una Savi straziata dalla notizia della morte di Cole, poi decisa e intrepida nello scoprire la verità sulla sua vita.
Successivamente sarà di nuovo rapita e senza speranza, infine leggeremo come sarà decisa a riprendersi la sua vita.
Un mix molto vasto di emozioni per la protagonista che, in questo volume, non mi ha convinto molto.
Troppi dettagli che non coinvolgono e troppa superficialità.
Questo secondo volume, così com’è narrato, secondo me non era affatto necessario, soprattutto perché c’è ancora un terzo libro ad aspettarci.
Avrei preferito che chiudesse la storia piuttosto che leggere un romanzo che non porta da nessuna parte.
Cosa spero di trovare nel terzo volume? Dolcezza, romanticismo e una storia d’amore bellissima.
Cole e Savi avevano tutte le carte in regola per farmi innamorare, ma in questo libro la loro storia d’amore perde tantissimo e viene messa in secondo piano.
Al centro di questo volume c’è Savannah con le sue azioni azzardate e le sue mille sfumature, che avrei apprezzato molto di più se strutturate in maniera differente.
Spero che Savi ritrovi un po’ di serenità, soprattutto perché potrebbe avere la possibilità di ricominciare.
Spero anche che la nostra protagonista ritrovi la fiducia verso il suo amato e che entrambi riescano a farmi cambiare idea, ancora una volta, su questa serie che per il momento ha rovesciato il mio giudizio sulla storia, ma non sulla penna e sullo stile dell’autrice, che comunque merita.

After witnessing the murder of her lover and the heartbreaking loss of their unborn child, Savannah wants to end it all. Then she is given a second chance at love. Sadly, even when life hands you second chances it doesn’t always follow that things will work out the way you want them to. Some lies can just be too painful to move on from. Book 2 in this series thankfully starts where book 1 finished and once again the story line was full of drama and action and pretty addictive with some drawn out parts in between, but the characters just don't seem to have any chemistry. Cole's character is very weak considering the line of work he's in and Savvy is a pain in the a**, never listening to any instructions leading to people getting killed because of her actions, her character got so annoying. I did really like the inclusion and characters of the other men.

You know how some books just stick with you? Take over all your thoughts? Well J.L. Drake's books do that to me.
Talk about a roller coaster ride, J.L. Drake never disappoints! These book have some much feeling that it leaves you feeling like you're right there in the book as one of the characters. (Savi please) My heart will never be the same. I'm such a fan of this author, and can't wait for Mended and her new Darkness Series.

Readers oggi vi parlo del secondo capitolo della Broken Trilogy, nonché primo libro che leggo di questa autrice.
Purtroppo ne sono rimasta delusa, non sono riuscita ad entrare in empatia con i personaggi e alcune scene sembrano fin troppo frettolose o addirittura quasi irreali.
La parte iniziale del romanzo mi ha confusa parecchio, non solo per i cambi repentini della persona in cui era stato scritto, ma anche per gli avvenimenti descritti. Dopo alcune ricerche ho ben capito che si tratta del secondo capitolo di un libro che non avevo letto, quindi ovviamente riporta alcuni degli avvenimenti presenti nel primo.
La protagonista è Savannah, una ragazza che negli ultimi tempi ha vissuto troppi eventi burrascosi, fra cui la morte del suo ragazzo. Ma sarà davvero andata così?

Vorrebbe tanto parlare con Savannah, dirle che è vivo e che sta bene, ma qualcosa gli fa capire che prima deve abbracciarla, non sa come potrebbe reagire. Non ha capito perfettamente cosa sia successo ma, a giudicare dal comportamento dei suoi genitori, deve esserci chiaramente qualcosa che non va.

First I want to thank Jodi for the ARC I won! Shattered was sooooooo good. I mean that. I was really impressed with the plot. It was fast paced and intense with so much action, danger and drama. I was on the edge of my seat, wanting to know what was going to happen next.
Everything was really well described too, making it all so realistic.

Jodi writes a great cast of characters. Savannah is one tough chick. I don’t know if I could survive what she did. And Cole is just amazing. He is definitely book boyfriend material. I loved all the men of Blackstone. They are funny, supportive of each other and work together so well.

Shattered shows that the choices we make often end up hurting ourselves and those we love. Savannah’s choices lead to devastation and heartbreak but at the time she thinks they are the right ones. We also see that people are not always what they seem.

You will love Shattered!! Trust me. I did!! And I can’t wait for Book 3 to see what’s in store for Cole, Savannah and the rest of the characters.

**ATTENZIONE - POSSIBILI SPOILER SUL PRECEDENTE LIBRO DELLA SERIE**

Se nel primo libro di questa serie abbiamo avuto a che fare con forti picchi di adrenalina, in questo secondo volume – nonostante non manchino i colpi di scena – si approfondisce maggiormente il lato psicologico dei protagonisti, e nello specifico, quello di Savannah.

Abbiamo finito TIENIMI SEMPRE CON TE con un cliffhanger degno dei migliori gialli che esistano in commercio.
Savannah, totalmente devastata dalle sue perdite, decide di puntarsi una pistola alla tempia e farla finita, per raggiungere l'uomo che amava e il suo bambino mai nato.
Il dolore che sente nel cuore è decisamente troppo grande da poter sopportare in questa vita e, associato al senso di colpa per aver mandato al massacro il suo Cole, non riesce a farla ragionare in maniera lucida.
Fortuna vuole che Savannah venga intercettata mentre tenta di attuare il suo folle gesto da Keith, uno dei ragazzi della squadra speciale Le Ombre, nonché suo migliore amico.
Con dolci parole e la paura negli occhi, riesce a disarmare per un soffio quella donna che ama come una sorella e dal quel momento Savannah viene sorvegliata a vista per far sì che non ritenti quell'atroce follia.
Dall'altra parte del mondo, Cole Logan viene tenuto prigioniero dal cartello Messicano, e, caduto nelle mani dell'Americano (noto trafficante, l'uomo che ha rapito Savannah), subisce ogni genere di tortura nella speranza di fargli confessare l'ubicazione della casa sicura della sua squadra.
È disposto a subire qualsiasi cosa, pur di non rivelare il luogo dove è nascosta la sua donna, ma il fatto che tutti lo pensino morto lo manda nel delirio più totale, nell’immaginare come si possano sentire la sua Savannah e i suoi genitori.
Nonostante l'indebolimento fisico e le ferite riportate, riesce a escogitare un piano per fuggire da quel posto, e ben presto scoprirà che ad attenderlo fuori ci sono i suoi fidati ragazzi, che non l'hanno mai abbandonato.

Il suo ritorno a casa, nonostante lo sconvolgimento totale e la gioia da parte di Savannah, non guarirà così facilmente il cuore ferito della donna, che si ritroverà a vivere, nonostante tutto, in un limbo fatto di smarrimento e paura.
La sua mente è talmente poco lucida che, pur di non vedersi portare via nuovamente il suo Cole, parte alla volta di New York, nella speranza di sapere qualcosa di più sul suo rapimento dalla bocca del padre.
Il viaggio servirà a svelare ciò che Cole Logan aveva già scoperto: che il padre e la cugina sono gli unici responsabili della sua terrificante sorte.
Come preannunciato a inizio recensione, la cosa che caratterizza questo libro è proprio la parte introspettiva del personaggio di Savannah.
Il suo smarrimento psicologico e tutte le angherie subite durante la sua intera esistenza, faranno da fulcro a questa storia intensa e pesante a livello emotivo.
Nonostante e soprattutto per l'amore che prova verso il suo uomo, non riesce a trovare la serenità sperata e, il tutto condito con magistrali colpi di scena, la protagonista non riuscirà a scrollarsi di dosso la sensazione di sentirsi sbagliata e incessantemente destabilizzata; per colpa di un passato intriso di bugie, di un presente che le ha portato via ogni briciolo di amor proprio e di un futuro troppo incerto per vederne i lati positivi.
Il doppio pov alternato aiuta sicuramente il lettore a entrare costantemente nella mente dei due personaggi principali, a vivere con loro ogni rammarico e ad analizzare ogni sentimento percepito dalle loro parole.
Ma, nonostante questo, non sono riuscita a entrare perfettamente in sintonia con le loro sensazioni.

La scrittura è indubbiamente lineare e l'autrice sa il fatto suo in merito alle descrizioni, ma non ho ritrovato la forza d'impatto che ho subito nel precedente libro della trilogia.
Detto questo, non c'è dubbio che sono curiosa di scoprire cosa si sarà inventata la Drake per finire questa storia.
Tornerà l'Americano a tormentare la nostra protagonista?
O finalmente Savannah e Cole potranno farsi una vita insieme senza la costante paura di essere intercettati dai nemici?

I really liked it, but I wish it slowed down a bit...

I’ll be honest, with a break between books it took a bit for me to get my mojo back about this series but once I found it I had no trouble remembering what made it so fabulous – Cole. Savannah and Cole are still wonderful together, and it was just as exciting as the first book. But, I do have to say everything happens fast. I barely had time to take a breath before something else would happen. There were some parts I wish were more developed and more time was spent flushing them out – a few events that happened were glossed over and could have used a bit more background and depth.

Overall, this is a fabulously exciting, heart pounding, and sexy series. I cannot wait for the final book to see what happens for Savannah and Cole.

What is it they say trust the process, I am glad I did because book 2 was perfect!
I really enjoyed this book so much happens sometimes that can be a bad thing but this wasn’t.

It was fast paced and really gave us all the characters. We also got answers to a lot of things which THANK YOU for not making us wait until book 3. It really is nice to have some closure on a lot of issues.

Savannah man this character is fierce! And like I said before strong willed, I love that she might had some weakness at the beginning but she really shows her grit in this book.

Also very much liked the Academy parts we get to see what it takes to become one of them. It’s not always pretty but that is why they have to train so hard.

Again the narration was really good, I am glad the narrator didn’t try to hard it flowed really well.

Another great book to add to the success of Broken. This book is exactly what the title suggests it would be, a little bit heartbreaking and of course Savannah would feel shattered after the events at the end of Broken.

Without giving too much away this book is full of highs and lows, which allow it to remain exciting through each of the chapters.
One thing that remains the same is the love and connection between Cole and Savannah, I loved learning more about their relationship and how they cope through tough situations.

I'll be looking forward to book 3, thankfully it's out in June so their won't be much of wait!

I hate saying this because I really enjoyed the 1st book but I should’ve stopped there because this one was a nothing but a major eye roll 🙄. All of a sudden the characters got stupid, the chemistry fizzled out and unnecessary drama was inserted in just about every chapter. The plot was SUPER weak so I’m guessing that’s why the author just started shoving in dumb shit to give these characters something to go on. And alllllll the flashbacks...smh 🤦‍♀️...added zero insight or value to this story other than unneeded filler.

After the ending of the first book, I had no idea how the author would even begin to piece me back together. She did – although I am held together with glue and my cracks are still visible – and along with Savannah, we are both very, very fragile. Any little disruption to our new-found acceptance is going to shatter us. Where do I even begin?? How about this from the first chapter to get your curiosity peaking?

It’s two in the morning, and since my pathetic attempt at suicide failed I have everyone in the house awake.

Poor Savannah. My heart continues to break for her. She is struggling so hard to overcome her devastation and Cole’s broken promise. She is also starting to place blame and guilt on herself for something that she had no control over. This would cause anybody to crumble, but when you add a kidnapping on top of all that, all Savannah wants is to stop the seemingly unending pain.

My heart is shattered forever, and I know that even though I did not end my life today I have no desire to go on.

Savannah is surrounded by people that love her and want nothing more than to help her through this horrific time. I adored how these strong special ops men cared for her and became soft-hearted whenever it came to her well being. She pretty much had them wrapped around her finger. Anything she asked for, they found a way to make it happen. When Savannah decides she wants to go rogue and find answers on her kidnapping, she finds a weak link in the Shadow house and knows that he will help her. Savannah still doesn’t know the extent of betrayal, and on her quest for answers she unwraps the magnitude of how deep this scheme flows. This doesn’t end well, and I was left with a feeling of déjà vu. Savannah has to be the strongest person I know both physically and mentally. I continually asked myself “how much more can she endure?”

Savannah is given a second chance at allowing herself to feel something other than grief, to finally be able to love again (I’m not saying with who because this is a surprise!). Things aren’t always black and white though, and I despise what actions were taken to gain intel against “The American.” It hurt both Savannah and myself.

“Think about how much that would hurt seeing me with another man, looking at him like that, even if it was for a good reason.”
“It would destroy me,” he admits, feeling sick.
She nods once, then slowly closes the door behind her.

This sends Savannah into a questionable mode – Who is she now? Where does she go? Where does she really belong? The operation has ceased so does she still stay in the house? The best thing for Savannah is to finally take this time to answer these questions on her own and rediscover herself. Perhaps the conversation she was hoping to have didn’t go as well as she thought it would, and this again made me hurt.

“It’s not a movie, Savannah. This shit doesn’t work out. It’s not always a happy ending. You don’t belong here anymore. You don’t need our protection now.”

Not only was I hurting, but I was furious at these words that were thrown at her! I think somebody is really going to have to woo me back into good graces in the next installment, because right now he is very low on my likable meter.

I felt like the author had added considerable amount of depth to the characters and scenes, and personal thoughts were more detailed. I have been very pleased with this series as it has included so many things I enjoy in a book. The author has definitely kept us on the edge of our seats and I look forward to what the third book will bring. Will we finally be able to breathe a little easier?

I am a broken record when I say Savannah is the strongest person I know. She will persevere.

I must move forward and not look back.

Oggi parliamo del secondo volume della Broken Trilogy, pregherei chi non ha letto il primo volume e non vuole rischiare di incappare in spiacevoli spoiler di non continuare la lettura di questa RECENSIONE e di leggere invece quella del primo volume (Tienimi sempre con te).

Molte di voi già sanno, e se non lo sanno le informo in questo momento, che non sono stata una grande fan del primo volume. Direi che questo secondo libro è notevolmente meglio.
La storia ricomincia esattamente dove l'avevamo lasciata.
Come potete facilmente immaginare, Savannah sta lottando duramente per superare la sua disperazione e la promessa non mantenuta da Cole di tornare da lei. Sta iniziando a colpevolizzare Cole e se stessa per qualcosa su cui era impossibile avere un controllo. Tutto quello che ha passato: il rapimento, la perdita del suo uomo, e la perdita del bambino che avevano concepito insieme la stanno distruggendo, sfiderei chiunque a sopravvivere a tutto ciò. In questo momento lei vuole solo fermare tutto questo dolore apparentemente senza fine. Pur essendo circondata da persone che la amano e vogliono aiutarla, il peso che porta sulle spalle inizia a essere davvero troppo per lei.
In questo secondo volume abbiamo un approfondimento del personaggio, riusciamo finalmente a capire molti degli atteggiamenti e delle reazioni di questa ragazza, finalmente la Drake ci dà di più e noi cominciamo a provare empatia nei suoi confronti. Sentiamo la sua sofferenza.
Gli uomini della squadra ormai sono la sua famiglia e vederli preoccuparsi per lei è una cosa stupenda. Ma questo non riesce a confortarla o a farla stare meglio. Deve capire, lo deve a se stessa. Decide quindi di cercare delle risposte e con l'aiuto dell'anello debole del gruppo e si mette all'opera.
Il risultato non è dei migliori, scoprire che tutta la sua infanzia e tutte le persone che avrebbero dovuto amarti, aiutarti e proteggerti in realtà ti hanno sempre mentito e non provano nessun tipo di sentimento verso di te, anzi ti dimostrano odio metterebbe a dura prova chiunque, pensate una persona che ha subito ciò che ha subito lei.
Ciò che Savannah scoprirà le farà capire e prendere atto che c'è una tragedia ancora più terribile nella tragedia che già aveva vissuto, i sentimenti di rabbia e angoscia che derivano dalla scoperta di queste verità creerà altre fratture in lei e il percorso di guarigione, che speriamo avverrà, sarà ancora più difficile e complesso di quello che avremmo potuto pensare.

Was ich über ... denke:

... die Geschichte...:
Das Buch hat genau da angefangen, wo der erste Band aufgehört hat und ich war wieder von der ersten Seite an total gefesselt.
Ich konnte das Buch gar nicht mehr aus der Hand legen, weil ich einfach immer wissen musste was passiert. Es war unglaublich spannend und fesselnd und ich fiebere dem dritten Band einfach nur noch entgegen, weil ich unbedingt wissen will, wie es weitergeht.

... die Charaktere...:
Savannah mochte ich wieder total gerne. Es ist einfach krass, was ihr alles passiert und wie sie damit umgeht. Auch wenn sie ihre schwachen Momente hat, so versucht sie immer zu kämpfen und nicht aufzugeben. Sie ist einfach eine unglaublich starke Frau, die sich nicht unterkriegen lässt, auch wenn ihr altes Leben völlig zerstört wird.
Cole mochte ich ebenfalls wieder sehr gerne. Es ist einfach wunderschön zu sehen, wie stark seine Gefühle für Savannah sind und wie diese ihn am Leben erhalten.
Für mich sind Cole und Savannah nach wie vor einfach ein tolles Paar, das perfekt zusammen passt und einfach zusammen gehört.
Auch Keith und Mark mochte ich wieder total gerne.

... der Schreibstil...:
Hat mir wie schon im ersten Buch richtig gut gefallen. Er lässt sich einfach locker unf flüssig lesen.

... das Cover...:
Ich mag die Cover dieser Reihe einfach irgendwie.

Was mir am besten gefallen hat:
Die Story, die Charaktere, der Schreibstil... einfach alles.

Was mir nicht gefallen hat:
Nichts.

Ich habe dieses Buch einfach nur geliebt und kann es jetzt kaum erwarten den dritten und finalen Band dieser Reihe zu lesen.
Definitiv eine absolute Leseempfehlung.

Sono davvero in difficoltà e non so neanche da dove iniziare a spiegare cosa non mi è piaciuto di questo secondo volume della storia, soprattutto dopo che il primo mi aveva davvero colpito. La prima cosa che ho avvertito è stata la mancanza di pathos e coinvolgimento. In alcuni punti mi sono sforzata di entrare in sintonia con la storia, ma la scrittura risulta poco avvincente ed emozionante. I fatti narrati sembrano essere messi lì come se i personaggi si stessero chiedendo cosa si mangia a tavola. Non ho avvertito quel colpo al cuore o quel calcio allo stomaco che mi sarei aspettata quando i personaggi si ricongiungono; quando Cole scopre del bambino; quando lei prende la decisione di andarsene. Il nulla assoluto. Avrei voluto che il suo sentirsi sbagliata e destabilizzata, il suo smarrimento fosse più marcato e approfondito dalla scrittrice. Oltre a questa cosa che ha inciso tantissimo durante la lettura, molte scene e scelte narrative non mi sono per niente piaciute. Il fatto che la protagonista femminile sia stata così egoista da mettere a repentaglio tutta la squadra solo perché pensava di essere la wonder woman della situazione mi ha infastidita tantissimo. Infatti, si è poi fatta catturare! Tutto quel tempo alla casa e avrebbe potuto sfruttare il tutto per imparare a difendersi, mentre lei ha passato il tempo a piagnucolare come una bambina. Nel primo libro l'avevo vissuta come una donna forte e mi è dispiaciuto vederla sotto questa nuova luce.
Cole è sempre stato perfetto anche durante il corso di questo libro, ma nella scena finale con Savannah mi è sembrato sforzato. Lui sa che lei lo ama quindi la sua reazione di fronte al fatto che volesse stare un attimo da sola per rimettere insieme i pezzi, mi ha stizzita tantissimo. Si è sempre comportato in maniera impeccabile come personaggio maschile, tirando fuori tutte le caratteristiche dell'uomo maturo e innamorato. Alla fine mi è sembrato di leggere di un uomo che si comporta da bambino e non è da Cole.
Insomma, questo libro non mi ha convinto per niente e non oso immaginare cosa succederà nel terzo perché la maggior parte degli intrighi si sono risolti con questo secondo volume. Sicuramente l'autrice avrebbe potuto benissimo scrivere una dilogia, senza dover allungare il brodo ma resto fiduciosa.

This is a continuation of Book 1 - Broken. Savi had been rescued by the Blackstone men. She developed a relationship with Cole and during one of their operative missions he is taken. Savi witnesses the murder of Cole, which causes her to miscarries her baby and spirals down hitting rock bottom.

Through some twists and turns we find out the truth. The truth about Cole, the truth about Savi's best friend and dad. But who does she trust? Savannah decides to remove herself from the situation and basically find herself. She moves out of the safe house to figure out her life.

This book is full of twists you don't expect coming. It is absolutely captivating and will keep you turning the pages. I recommend to get the Trilogy and just read all the stories consecutively!

Shattered was the second book in the broken trilogy, and J.L. Drake did not disappoint. This book is action packed she does not slow down and its a little bit of a nail biter waiting for all the questions to be answered!

There was a few times I wanted to slap Savannah because she wasn't thinking to clearly and it was like OMG! But at the same time I understood because when you have no other way to think and no one is giving you answers or a different view on the situation how else are you supposed to act.

"Christ, Cole, fill me in, then!" I shout, taking a step toward him. "please, for once in my goddamn life, will someone tell me something? i'm tired of living in shadows, only seeing the grey and black." I take another step until I am right in from of him. "Don't I deserve that much."

Oh and then there is dreamy Cole who I will swoon forever over this man! But I will say this, he made me hate him a little and made me want to slap him. oh Cole how you are such a MAN!

Another great read from J.L Drake and she sure did not disappoint. After the horrible ending of 'Broken' I didn't know what to expect from this book but it all works out and they live happily ever after...... pfft. You didn't believe that right? It's Jodi we're talking about she's evil :)

Savannah makes a not so good decision, but I understand why she did it, and it all goes to hell from there. Lots of things start to happen and it wasn't a slow part in the book from there on. Loved all the action, emotions, ups and downs and all the boys of course. Mark is still my favorite, I love their bromance it really makes me laugh. And I love how close Keith and Savannah is, she really needs a friend in all this. Cole though is not my favorite right now but I trust Jodi to fix that in Mended won't you? :)

This is definitely another must read!!

Not my favorite of the three stories, I didn't like this book as much as I did book one. I disliked Derek for one. The quality of the storyline was weak and the shear fact that Derek helped Savannah escape to New York to face her troubles. How about just telling Savannah, your best friend is a loony backstabbing beyotch. Cripes it was long and tedious and then Savannah was kidnapped again. Seriously???? The only thing saving the story were the hot sex scenes and the other single men on the team.. There is witty dialogue and I still love the setting in the mountains and the family home atmosphere.
