Příjemně nakreslená, akční záležitost. Obálka sice trochu mate a série se kvůli ní tváří jako pro děti, ale rozhodně bych počkal až trochu odrostou, pokud s nimi nechcete řešit věci jako kdo je to pasák nebo co je to bordel.
Pan Vybíral vybírá dobře a tahle zabávná série o tom, co dělají malí pomocníci Sherlocka Holmese, když ten zrovna není doma - což působí docela humorně, jak je vždy potřeba dostat ho někam pryč - je toho rozhodně důkazem.
Jsem rád, že nám tu vychází nějaké pravidelnější paperbackové série a o to radšim, když mě baví jako tahle.

I was almost deceived by format and art. Book looks like something for younger audience, but hidden behind the facade of colorful art young protagonists, is actually pretty dark story.

Swift one, and full of action. I must say that despite low page count author managed to deliver whole package without feeling that anything is missing. Some glimpses of historic London, showing reality and morality of that period, were also nice.

But mostly it's exciting adventure, although ending is kind of bitter sweet. I'm looking forward to next piece in the series.

De vier van Baker Street, nou ja, eigenlijk 3 en dan later komt er nog een kat bij (al zou ik die niet echt meerekenen, maar ja) zijn jonge kinderen die wel houden van mysterie. Ze helpen Sherlock Holmes door voor hem te spioneren, maar in dit boek moeten ze het zonder hem doen als Black Tom's verloofde wordt ontvoert. Ik vond het erg leuk om te lezen, het was best spannend, met lekker veel mysterie en actie. Alleen vond ik de karakters toch minder. Ik vond ze eigenlijk allemaal nou niet zo interessant, ze missen gewoon iets. Ik hoop dat we meer over Charlie te weet komen, waarom is ze zich aan het verkleden als jongen? De tekeningen, tja, niet altijd mijn favoriet. Op punten echt mooi gedaan, maar op punten en dan vooral de karakters, gewoon niet al te best.
Ik ga wel verder lezen. Mijn bibliotheek had 3 van deze delen, en ik ben nog steeds ziek, dus ik ga lekker lezen.

This comic book gives us an opportunity to take a look at a colourful world of London’s guttersnipes from the time of Sherlock Holmes. Colourful, you may ask? Really? OK, it was rather full of different shades of grey. In this short story we will find plenty of information about begging in 1889, at that time it was almost an industry. The authors will show what other things, apart from asking for money, were doing people that were working as beggars. We will visit brothel and not it’s representative part, but we rather go behind the scenes. We'll know how hard was life for a pimp with a rebellious staff. We’ll find out how important is cleverness, planning and oratory in life. It’s a good alternative to Enola Holmes adventures, much more realistic. And amusing. It’s a story with a cheeky vibe. I recommend.

The first volume in a series about the Baker Street Irregulars, i.e. the "street urchins" created by Conan Doyle for his Sherlock Holmes stories. I'm a Holmes aficinado and the combination of these settings and the modern version of the traditional French album format was thoroughly enjoyable. The story is OK, well actually a bit more than OK, but it is really David Etien's clean, crisp drawings that makes this a comic above average. Looking forward to reading the following volumes.

Komiks o przygodach jak na razie trójki przyjaciół z Londynu czasów Sherlocka Holmesa, gdzie na ulicach rządzą opryszki, wszędzie można spotkać kobiety lekkich obyczajów, a porwania w biały dzień nie są czymś rzadkim. Pozycja w Polsce znana szerzej jako Czwórka z Baker Street to lektura młodzieżowa o zjawiskowym wyglądzie i mocno standardowej fabule.

Ale jako że to debiut, to ocenianie rządzi się nieco innymi wytycznymi. Jasne, gdyby była to błyskotliwa historia, którą zapamiętałbym na lata, to tylko plus dla tytułu i fajnie spędzony czas dla mnie. "Niestety" jest tylko dobrze. Trójka przyjaciół jest jakaś i musi sobie radzić na ulicy, ale szczerze mówiąc, za mało tu miejsca, abym ich wszystkich polubił. Format komiksu daje nam 55 stron, a t0 w sumie mało aby dobrze rozrysować aż trzech bohaterów.

A nicponi aż chce się polubić. Jeden wygadany, drugi prawie akrobata oraz trzeci, który skrywa pewną tajemnicę. Billy, Charlie i Czarny Tom. Ten ostatni pała uczuciem do pewnej młodziutkiej kwiaciarki, która na jego oczach zostaje porwana. Zaczynają się poszukiwania na własną rękę, bo znajomy detektyw jest akurat poza miastem. Reszta dzieję się swoim torem i nic więcej nie napiszę, bo łatwo zdradzić prawie całość tego zeszytu.

Coś co zostanie ze mną na dłużej to pamięć o wyglądzie tego tytułu. Kreska jest naprawdę świetna, postacie ludzkie wyglądają rodem jak z jakichś filmów Dreamworks, Pixara Czy Disney'a. W dodatku wszechobecny brud, smród i ubóstwo, co obrazują ciemniejsze kolory, jest tutaj bardzo sugestywny i ładnie podbija cały ten klimat.

Pierwszy tom jest wyrobem czeladniczym. Ładnym, mającym przetrzeć drogę innym historiom. I nawet na nie czekam, co szybko nadrobię, gdyż cała seria czeka u mnie w domu. Jeżeli reszta utrzyma całkiem fajny poziom pierwszej części, to będzie w miarę dobrze. Alternatywna dla wielbicieli Enoli Holmes.

Dans sa préface, Régis Loisel louange le talent de l’artiste: “Sa mise en scène aux cadrages énergiques sert le scénario à merveille, les décors sont précis et généreux et l’ambiance générale est soutenue par des couleurs somptueu­ses.” Si je suis d’accord avec la première partie de son commentaire (les décors et la mise en page sont très adéquats) mon opinion est à l’opposée sur les couleurs: je n’aime guère le dessin un peu trop anguleux à mon goût par moment, les ombrages sur les visages me semblent un peu exagérées et, surtout, le choix d’une palette de couleurs sombres, tout dans le brun et le sépia, me déplait beaucoup. Je comprends que l’artiste voulait sans doute rendre l’atmosphère victorienne (brumeuse, étouffante, ancienne — à moins que cela soit un problème d’impression?) mais je trouve cela très laid.

Par contre, l’histoire est excellente. Le récit est bien mené, captivant et les personnages sont crédibles et attachants. L’histoire est sérieuse, fidèle à l’esprit des Aventures de Sherlock Holmes. Il s’agit donc d’un digne hommage à Conan Doyle. Dans l’ensemble, malgré les faiblesses du style graphique, c’est une bonne lecture.

Nenaštvite Čierneho Toma. Nezabúdajte, že mu v žilách koluje divoká írska krv.

Londýnska štvrť Whitechapel. Minulý rok tu vraždil prostitútky Jack Rozparovač. Tento rok ulice križuje trojica kamarátov vo veku – povedzme niečo medzi dvanásť až pätnásť rokov. Billyho, Charlieho a vodcu Čierneho Toma sem-tam požiada o drobnú službičku legendárny Sherlock Holmes. Ten nad priateľmi zároveň drží ochrannú ruku, a tak si na chlapcov netrúfnu ani rôzne nebezpečné záujmové skupiny, ktoré by ich inak za bežných okolností najradšej zaživa roztrhali v zuboch. Lenže slávny detektív práve odišiel z mesta. A vzal so sebou aj verného Watsona. Trojica rovesníkov osamie. Ako na potvoru sa akurát vtedy stanú svedkami únosu mladej kvetinárky, do ktorej je Čierny Tom zaláskovaný. Trojica okamžite začína pátrať po identite únoscov a ich motívoch. A možno ich čaká aj naverbovanie štvrtého člena...

Ahhh. I finally subscribed to the library (haven't been since I turned 18... I'm 23 now), which means I get to read graphic novels now!! So I went to roam around in that section immediately, and when I saw this front, then read the back I was immediately intrigued. Sherlock Holmes, I mean say what?! SUCH A GREAT START THIS WAS. Although at the beginning I was a liiitle confused about how the story would go, maybe that's just getting used to the format of Graphic Novels. Eventually it was thrilling suspense and I HAD TO find out about the mystery. By that, the setting in 19 century-ish London is just immaculate, as well as the art 🤌🏼

J'ai beaucoup aimé retrouver le cadre de l'époque victorienne et le fait que Sherlock Holmes se retrouve en personnage secondaire était assez savoureux.

Il y'a beaucoup de détails en arrière-plan sur l'époque (affiches, graffitis...)

Par contre, j'ai eu du mal avec les têtes et les corps déformés des personnages.

On a du mal à leur donner un âge.

Ils pourraient avoir aussi bien 10 ans que 50. C'est un peu déstabilisant.

Les personnages sont sympathiques.
J’ai bien aimé les dessins, les couleurs sont chaleureuse et surtout les décors sont chouettes, typiques de ce que j’attendais d’une époque victorienne.
C’est un premier tome introductif que j’ai aimé et j’ai bien envie de découvrir ce que nous réserve les prochains tomes.

Hodně dobře napsaný příběh. Má neuvěřitelný spád a nemá žádné hluché místo. Je to poctivě napsaná detektivka se správnou dávku napětí. Kresba je úžasná - velmi příjemná a dynamická. Barvy jsou hodně živé, ale v tomto případě to není vůbec na škodu. Celkově jsou panely plné života a obsahují obrovské množství detailů, aniž by působily přeplácaně. Škoda, že to nevyšlo v integrálu.

Povedený příběh o Holmesových pomocnících řešících vlastní případy. Na to, že to má být asi primárně pro děti, tak první díl nastavuje dost temnou atmosféru a otevírá závažná a drsná témata. Kresba je celkem dobrá.

Ich habe gerade den ersten Band beendet und werde die Reihe sicher weiter verfolgen. Die Zeichnungen gefallen mir gut, sind sehr klar und die drei kleinen Detektive knuffig gezeichnet. Zwar fand ich, dass vereinzelte Panels etwas steif wirkten, aber das kann sich ja im Laufe der Zeit noch verbessern. Das Abenteuer, das die drei in diesem Band bestehen müssen, hat mich gut unterhalten, auch wenn das ganz gewisse etwas noch fehlte. Man merkt auch einfach, das es eben ein erster Band ist, in dem Figuren und Hintergründe vorgestellt werden - da dürfte durchaus noch Steigerungspotential vorhanden sein.

Ils doivent retrouver l'amie de l'un d'eux, et se frottent à des malfrats dangereux.

Un dessin expressif, réussissant les trognes des personnages louches comme les jolis minois, aux décors soignés.
Une intrigue policière bien menée.

Une série plutôt sympathique dans l'Angleterre de Sherlock Holmes, où des enfants des rues deviennent des détectives assistant Holmes lui-même. Palette de couleurs lumineuse, beaucoup d'expression et de gouaille dans le trait et les visages.
