I just couldn't resist and read this one in my lunch break 😂. My curiosity won! And I'm glad, since it was soooo much better than the previous one.
I liked both main characters, but I liked her more. I wanted to hug her a few times 🥹 she really tried to be strong, but she also decided to trust him at the right time.
What to expect
- they're the same age, I think
- poor and struggling heroine, rich hero
- ONS (or better said, one gondola stand 😂)
- surprise pregnancy
- fated mates, he's a wolf shifter, she's human
- found family (I got the vibes she clicked with his hister and became friends)

There's more word building in this one, but I still have some questions:
- like, why didn't he recognize her as his mate when they were in high school? I suppose this is because they were too young!? Who knows.
- also, what happened with the conflict between him and his dad!? How did his family react to him finding his mate? Especially his dad, since he gave POS type of person vibes; but yeah, short read, it is what it is
He was so smitten with her since the first moment they reconnected. The scene where he ordered his cake was annoying, I wanted to slap him over his head 😂. Dude, be that alpha wolf you say you are, and go get your girl and stop with the awkward talking 😂.
The gondola scene was exaggerated. No way they could have gotten out of their clothes, do the deed, and got back in their clothes in a maximum of 3 minutes. Nope, I'm not buying it! But it was a fun scene 🤭🤭.
I liked that he had patience with her and that he really tried to offer her his support, even with the risk of her still rejecting and not trusting him.
Finally, there is a different scene where she finds out about what he is. Liked it, best one until now 😂🤭. He was really stressed! 😂
As with the 2nd book, here the hero is also a reformed player, but it's fine, there's balance between his and her past, and I really rooted for them. She deserved her little family. 🥰
I liked their HEA, I'll read the extra epilogue as well.
For now, I'm going to stop with this series, but I will be back! 👋

Short, Sweet and Spicy
I thought it was a good length and moved at good pace. There was minimal drama, a bit of angst and some steam. The story is told in dual POV. I really liked Damon. He truly cared about Chloe and definitely made an effort to prove it to her.
Overall, I really enjoyed it!

2.5-3 stars. This was an all right book. Kind of an instant love/lust story. You have wealthy Damien and struggling Chloe who are trying to find their way together. She knows Damian from high school and his reputation precedes him. To her he was a Playboy man w**** and she really didn't want anything to do with him. But a quick 3 minute quickie in the ski gondola will change their lives forever. Surprise pregnancy! Not really a fan of that trope I mean come on, if you're going to have unprotected sex you know what's going to happen hello! One thing I didn't like is the author bringing up his dad and his sister for one brief spat and then that was it for them. He does mention his sister near the end of the book I guess it was a way for her to set up his sister's book but it was kind of weak. Don't bring other characters into a book if you're not going to elaborate more on what's going on with them. There's a brief scene where the dad and Damian nearly get into it but then it just ends. I know I know these are just novelists but really if you're going to write other characters into your novella at least give us some background on them. I would have liked to see the dad cause some problems between Damon and Chloe. It was all too wrapped up nicely with no angst really. Yes she was unsure about whether or not he was going to be there for her and she really didn't trust him because of his reputation. She needed to get out of her head a little more in my opinion. He did step up to the plate for her and she finally saw the error of her ways. I would like to see more conflict with the McGregor's those are the bear shifters but the last known we get one tussle and he gets knocked out during the fight. Throughout this whole series The McGregor's having gotten less and less page time from book to book. I wish the author would have fixed this. It would have made the book a little better and not just sexing after sexing with a little bit of talking. Like I said in my first review for the first book this is just a pallet cleanser not a very good one but okay cleanser and I'll be reading the next one. I'm kind of curious to read about Fallon, Damon's sister.

This is part of the Gold Creek Wolves each book can be read as a standalone with a sexy shifter and the women who captures his attention. Chloe just needs to escape her daily life for a moment so her best friend gives her an all expense paid ski trip as a birthday gift and it made her year well until her friend had an accident. Damon sexy as all get out shifter being called to help a guest but arriving he immediately scents the women stressing over her friend is his mate and he can’t say anything because he first needs to calm her down by taking care of her friend. Once Chole’s friend is okay, she begins to calm enough to notice the sexy guy who rescued her friends and being around him, the attraction is intense, and the magnetic pull is too strong to ignore leads to something more she realizes he is different from any man she has met sure she would never see her sexy rescuer again. So, when he walks into the bakery, she works for is a surprise to say the least especially with the secret she is keeping but has he come to claim his mate, will she give him a real chance considering he is a playboy, she is a girl who is use to being alone, and can they find happiness?.

Damon had never had a problem with women! They always fell over themselves to please him until he met Chloe. His wolf recognised Chloe as his mate but after one quick sex session he lost touch with her.
Coming from a wealthy family his father asked him to take charge of one of the family bars and find out why it wasn’t making money. Going into the local bakery he came across Chloe again, making an idiot of himself he invited Chole and her work mate to his birthday party.
Chloe never thought she’s see Damon again when he walked into the bakery, she’d just found out she was pregnant and had decided to tell him.
Damon was actually a nice person and he really cared for Chloe. Both he and his Wolf wanted to take care of her and were ecstatic that she was carrying his pup but proving all this to Chloe was turning out to be a challenge.
A fast faced hot shifter read with lots of steam, witty and fun.

Chloe just wanted to escape her hard life just for a little bit, and when her friend presented her with an all expenses paid day trip skiing as a birthday gift, she jumped on that. But she didn’t count on was for her friend to have a horrific skiing accident and Damon coming to the rescue. Damon knows Chloe is his mate by her scent but she is so freaked out about her friend he doesn’t want to pressure her at that moment. Once her friend is safely off the mountain, Chloe can then relax, and give into her desire for Damon. Chloe knows Damon and knows he’s from a different world than she is and doesn’t expect to see him again, but he walks into the bakery where she works weeks later. She had just found out a secret and doesn’t know how to tell him. Will Damon put his playboy ways behind him and be a good mate to Chloe?

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book in the Gold Creek Wolves series is about Damon and Chloe. These two meet when there's an accident on her skiing trip. Their attraction was instant and strong. Damon knows that she is his mate but one night is more than it will take to win her for good. I liked that he was determined to show her how things could be. Chloe is unsure but wants to trust him with more than just her heart. I think that this might be my favorite couple of the series. I liked their story with low drama, determination, an instant connection and plenty of heat

This was a short read and for fans of smutty stories, you will love this. I wish there was more story in between the sex. A human woman, Chloe, is having financial problems and has a drug dealer after her. Damon is a wolf shifter who knows Chloe is his mate and has sex with her in a gondola. Chloe ends up pregnant and the rest of the story is Damon trying to get Chloe to be his mate. I think 60% of the book was sex, too much for me so I won't be reading any more of this series.

Great Read!
This short story has a great storyline with very real-life characters. Each main character is dealing with the angst of finding themselves and figuring out just exactly where they belong and with whom. The subtle plot twists and challenges balance the flow of each character’s growth, as well as their “oh, yeah, this is what I’m looking for.” Reads fairly quickly but it’s a smooth ride, especially with the humor mixed in, and very enjoyable.

I'm loving this series but THIS book I think night be my favorite. I lived this couple and now scared be was that she wouldn't accept him. And he just protected her and gave her the choices she needed to be safe and happy. in hopes that she would choose him but was trying to give her space.

We have less than 3 minutes between gondola stops, but hey, let's get it on....
That's my least favorite part of the book.. Who can say no for only 3 minutes to get freaky? Evidently, not our FMC. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book, thus the 4-stars. Definitely not the same image of Damon that was portrayed in the first couple of books, but the author was able to turn it around so you understood it.

Just too short
Good read, and Damon and Chole had great chemistry. The book was just way too short. Oh, it covered the basics, but such a huge turnoff not have enough background on the characters

What can I say, I didn't love it, but I didn't gate it either. I prefer longer books that give me more in depth on the characters. This was adorable for what it was but of course I wanted more details.

An Okay Read
This is literally "Everything that can go wrong, when meeting your fated mate" all combined in a short story. It's an okay read, but I felt that it was lacking and rushed through.

This one was adorable. I kinda disliked the FMC she was a little mean especially towards the end which was weird cuz I thought she’d get nicer as they were officially mated but I suppose not. I really loved the MMC he was very sweet and so good to her.

3.5 Stars. The epilogue knocked it down. The whole time I was wishing it was a fully length book until I got to the epilogue and then it was like thank goodness it wasn’t if it would have been like this. Full review coming to podcast.

Damon knows Chloes his mate at first glance but after one moment together Chloe left with something more than memories.
