“This book is about you.” The opening statement of the notebook optimizes the purpose of this book, and by recognizing this quickly, knows exactly what it wants to help you with, which is to allow you to progress in songwriting.

The notebook leads with a range of example song structures, making it clear for writers of any level to understand how to start writing their songs, pairing that with over 100 original quotes that fill you with inspiration to write the next best song. This is only elevated with the small touches to illustration that make the notebook feel intentional and well-suited to its purpose.

In terms of quality touches that the notebook has, there is plenty of space for sheet music and lyrics, coming in an A4 format that, whilst I initially wasn’t sure about, is great for someone who produces music at home or in a local studio as it provides much more space than a traditional notebook would. This can be a positive or a negative to some people, but I can only see it as a positive when you might otherwise feel constrained by a smaller book.

From my own experience, this is a great quality songwriting notebook that is great for people of all ages and all experience levels. If you are just getting into songwriting, or you are a professional that can sometimes struggle with writer’s block or finding the motivation to write, this notebook will propel you forward in your creative process.

I absolutely love this journal. The quotes are inspiring and creative and make me smile, and the pages are big enough to put all your inspiration for your songs and music. I’m so excited to use it. The artwork on the front and back are really cool, too, so that’s a plus. I’d give this ten stars if I could.

I love this journal and I can’t wait to see what I can make while using it, and with the empty sheet music pages, it will definitely motivate me to relearn sight-reading. I’ve been in a musical creative slump for a little over a year now, but that stops here.
